Well i did duel OP last night.

Just impossible to kill.

Of course his game play and experience has a lot to do with this. Also bought the runes and use his build, but not close enough to play as him

The thing is the timing, if you interrupt correctly the enemy is dead.

As OP said, the myth of the P/P not viable is broken.

I just duel against @AikijinX and his thiefsmer build.

Is just refreshing to see good thieves as him that use the brain and creates this unique builds.

Just amazing man, thanks for teaching me your build, is really powerful.

Duel him like 6 times, not even close to kill him.

We will see a lot of people running this build in future, the runes will be a lot more expensive xD.

PvE is made using tools created, so it is quicker.

PvP generally involves programming and a A LOT More testing for some definition of balance.

Look at skyhammer, people are complaining thakittenis not fair, but in PvE that wouldn’t have been an issue. So designers NOT programs can go all out, while they cant do that in PvP and WvW.

Ok can you please explain to me a tool than can easily create beautiful maps, mini game mechanics, new skins, and new boss mechanics for the living world that can not apply to spvp?

I know anet tell us to believe this, but is really that different the current SPVP to the PVE mechanics?

Come one are you telling me that for anet is easier to create the dragon ball mini game, the racing game from the pirates expansion (dont remember game), winter games, SAB 1, SAB 2 . . . etc; than fixing a obvious wrong meta and adding some good rewards?

I know they work hard but for real, you don’t need to be that smart to know 2 things:

1.- SPVP team is not well supported by anet to hire more people and make things really happen.

2.- PVE gives more money and they focus a lot more here.

Please if you come with the “is not that easy SPVP as PVE” . . . for the love god, tell us how is that.

Hi Developers,

I’am a system engineer, i only do administrative systems (Database manager).

I know my area has nothing to do with game development but i do know about databases at least.

My question is simple:

Taking SAB as a perfect example of a good full content (IMO) that involves:

- New maps
– New character development (like bosses)
– New skins (several of them)
– New story
– New mechanics design
– New currency
– Etc

Is really easier to bring this great development effort every two weeks than fixing some numbers like some necro damage, warriors regen or spirit ranger burn procs (i know there was a “fix”).

I mean i assume that this numbers come from a database easy to update and is very easy to change the numbers.

I know also that the hard part is to move something without breaking another.

But honestly, how can you expect that people will not rage when they see that every 2 weeks you give PVE players a lot of effort (SAB is just one example) and you can’t give us SPVP players, real rewards and a real meta (esport) for this several months?

Please guys, if PVE leaves more money than SPVP is ok but dont come with the same . .

-We know the problem with skyhammer glory farming and SoloQ (no one wants it) issues
-We know the current meta is not the best
-We know that there are virtually no rewards and SPVP has nothing unique
-We know SoloQ rate system is bad
-We know we should have a duel system to test the pve items (Mainly for WvW).
-We Know petti zoo was a joke in pax

And i could keep going, but this is not a post to troll or offend.

Please next patch do not disappoint us, we have wait a loooot of time and most of us are really tired.

Bleed: Include a cold factor when hp below 25%, explained before.

Torment: Also do damage when you move the cam, moving the eyes should be consider as a movement also.

Fear: Longer duration should be applied, when you scare you just dont get better in 3 seconds.

Burn: Longer duration (10 sec) and 100% transfer to an ally if they touch you.

Poison: Daze until the efect is gone. A character should not be able to make any action without dazing.

I know is not that much but this may fix a little bit the current meta.

Well maybe is not the most polite way to write your feelings but you are right.

Honestly iam really tired of the “We are working on it, is more harder than you think”.

Come one Anet do you really think that we believe that programmatically, SAB is a lot faster than fixing a !@#$% meta in this several months?

I know that PVE players expend a lot of money purchasing random chest and skins . . . but for the love of god PVP player are the ones that make games to be recognized in the world (Esports).

If you are able to see my history you will find that i have bought a lot of things to support your company because i love your game, but this love is really on the limit because at this point this SPVP is pathetic.

Please don’t be the next Diablo 3 and disappoint your fans.

Maybe you don’t care a much (since you have a lot more players in PVE) but i will also quit the game if the next patch doesn’t fix all the kitten we already ate for soooooo long.

Use all soldier armor to get a lot of vit and tough.

Depending of your profession choose the most Area damage weapon set (AOE).

Go to eternal battle field map, find a commander (blue Dorito icon in the map) and join the zerg.

Try to hit all the enemies you can to get the kill bonus when hes dead.

That is all, the key is to be always in a zerg and hit as many enemies you can, it doesn’t matter if you don’t kill them directly you will get the bonus if you do enough damage.

If you have some gold you can craft and get the first levels very easy, then move to WvW.

The funny part is that anet thinks that S/D thief is OP and requires an adjustment.

necros, warrios and spirit ranger (even after the “nerf”) all over the place.

IMO thief is fine with D/D, D/P, and S/D, but other profession should be fixed.

All this has been said before several times on current meta, trust me, next patch in october will fix a lot of things . . . well i hope xD.

It happens with the #2 skill S/D thief. I press the button and it takes like 2 sec to react. Same with Shadow shot.

But the S/D 1v1 is good because it hits hard, but i don’t really know how they survive with the current condi meta.

If S/D gets into a fight 4v4, fir sure will be a lot of AOE condi spamms and S/D has not that many cleanse skills to survive.

I know people say that S/D is the meta on thieves now, but to me they are a bad version of a warrior.

Maybe i’am playing it wrong . . . thoughts?

D/P thief, that is actually one of the best against a power build since blind field, i never play S/D.

I can kill them but since i need stealth they always cap very easy.

The thing is how much time and pressure you need to kill one.

This days i feel that warriors now behave more like guardians.

I actually like to fight against warriors, but most of the times with the current builds we have i feel that i’am actually fighting a guardian.

I don’t know much of warriors, but is really funny how much skills they have to mitigate the damage.

I see very often how they come and attack, then run away with invincibility skills, heal and come back to do the combo again.

I also see a lot of people complaining about S/D thief, Cond Engis, and Condi Mesmer, but honestly this days IMO warrior is a lot harder to kill than any of them.

Am i doing something wrong when fighting a warrior? maybe is a L2P issue and there is a counter i don’t know.

Iam not saying they are OP but IMO they are a lot more stronger than a S/D thief that dies in 5 seconds in this condi meta AOE Spamms.

thief for roaming in wvw is the best (the only thing that excels) . . . but in SPVP is bad.

The only viable build S/D since you have to cap and stealth is not an option.

The best right now that brings more on table is spirit ranger and necros.

i just ran a naked warrior with onlu trinkets and weapon and owned 3 noobs in WvW. warrior is so OP, and i destory spirit rangers and necros with it jus by press F1 in WvW. please nerf

I know wich team will win ins SoloQ before it starts because of the quantity of spirit rangers and necros a team has.

Is just ridiculously how much condi area spam are in a really small cap area.

You can not even go inside that area with a melee build and survive more than 5 seconds.

I have never seen a team of 5 thieves/ele/warriors/mesmers winning with a score 500/100.

And i have seen a lot of those screen shots with necros and spirit rangers.

As a thief i can say that a good player playing conditions mesmer (the one that constantly also disappear and breaks root and stunt) is almost impossible to kill.

Mesmer phantom (i think) hits like a truck but also has low hp pool and defense how is suppous to be.

The only problem with mesmer to me is the same problem with the current meta . . . conditional based builds with great survivable.

Sorry but you, as a thief, use the same exact survivability technique as the condi mesmer. Stealthing.

The phantasm you’re referring to is the iduelist. It does hit like a truck, if specced into power/precision. The condi mesmer spec does not spec into power.

Condition builds should have higher survivability, since it’s damage over time. Meaning it takes (or should) more time to take down an opponent. A high burst/highly survivable build/profession would be rather overpowered. (old d/d ele, anyone?).

Yup i use stealth but i don’t have 5 copies of me hitting you constantly.

With my thief i use a full condition remove build . . . and as someone said before . . . my problem with burn is that is too much damage in a very short time . . . is hard to clean, if you don’t react fast it takes a lot of HP.

Bleed of course can do more damage when stacked, but it allows you to react.

Right now my biggest problem is against necros, they give me this combo that can kill me from a long range with the first shot and then after that i have to clean all the 5 conditions they apply.

Experience is the best tool to predict.

A good example are thieves.

If they stealth count 2 and a half seconds (after a while u will know when) then dodge and keep moving , they will not be able to BS you.

Focus learning the mechanics of other profession, a good dodge could be the difference of the whole match . . . right lock down warrior?

Yeah Guardians are well balanced compared with others.

A problem i see often with the conditional based builds is how powerful AOE skills are.

To me is very easy to just pop an AOE skill like caltrops and see how easy they die trying to capture a really small area full of conditional fields.

Skyhammer is the perfect example of this, small cap areas, walls around them makes professions like mesmers, necros, engis to focus all their potential in a very small area.

This is the reason IMO that people prefers to play open maps than the narrow ones.

Yeah is true if how easy the can apply conditions continuously.

Also that condi builds has a greate health pool and defense because of the amulets.

Is not like power based builds that require power, precision and crit damage to be viable.

I see a lot of topics complaining about condi meta.

most of them are asking to nerf conditions; i agree that conditional builds are very strong right now.

My question is, will this problem could be fixed only nerfing the damage that burn does.

Most of the strongest build right now are using burn as a great option to make damage:

1.- Spirit Rangers
2.- Terrormancers
3.- Tank Guardians
4.- Bomb Engis (not really sure if this is the correct name)
5.- Warrios with SB.

So what do you thing, nerfing he damage that burn deals may be a good option to fix meta?

When i manually look for a game, ALWAYS the only ones available to play are Skyhammer . . . . obviously because people just quit when it appears.

Other maps are full.

Skyhammer is not a map to be consider as fair . . .

Anyways, there are a lot of threads with this topic already, iam sure Anet is considering the feedback and will fix soon . . . at least for soloQ.

I did the same.

Just create a ranger to test why people cry to much of spirit ranger.

It was amazing how much damage it does with no actual skill to play it.

The only profession that gave me troubles was necromancer, with the AOE condi spam killed my spirits.

But very easy to kill other classes, guardians, warriors and thieves died very quickly.

Well this happens when a game is trying to balance, i know anet will fix the current meta.

All we see now is AOE Condi spammers, i even feel good when a lock down warrior kill me.

To me the only profession that can be compared with thief is Ele.

A good Ele is very hard to kill and very hard to find this days in SPVP.

The problem is that most people just spam skills and do the rotation really wrong.

Is the same with thief, most of people make glass canon thief that IMO is the worst to PVP.

If you were targeting the ground, why would your other ranges be unaffected? It doesn’t effect other ranges, why only leaps? In addition, it’s inconsistent. You can angle your camera in such a way that your leap goes a reduced distance…then, without moving or touching your camera in the slightest, your very next leap will go full distance. If you were aiming with your camera, you should get consistent results – perhaps it does work as you suggest, and Anet has taken over a year to fix the issue (that wouldn’t be new for Anet), but I’m still convinced it’s a bug.

What other ranges are you talking about?

All ranged skills can be free-aimed on the ground, which reduces the distance they travel since they hit the ground, same with non ground targeted leapfinishers, however, leaps causes the character to enter a fixed animation which resets other animations including aim, so with a bit of lag or early press the 2nd leap can go straight forward and full distance since it’s using the reset aim that the leap animation set, and follows the characters direction no matter where you point the screen, this would be the real bug if something is a bug. :p

4 HS is not a bug or exploit.

Very easy to do once you master (of course when you are in a free enemy area).

Saying this is an exploit is like saying that precast CnD + Steal + BS is a bug also.

I think Warrior/Thief would be disgusting, One Stunlock from shadow refuge
WILL ALWAYS result in death
Auto winning most 2v2s.

Mesmer/Thief Could be strong as ranged Stun/dazelock can be just as good but no eviscerate is meh.

This, because right now warrior has amazing damage and high defense at same time.

Warrior will stun lock and receive damage while Thief burst down.

I’ll watch your stream, let them QQ Spirit ranger take’s as much skill as almost ever single class playing in the meta atm.

They sad part is thief’s use less skill then a spirit ranger and have more evade but have less QQ.

Are you seriously comparing a Thief with a Ranger in matter of skills?

I have play with 4 char mainly.

-Ranger
-Thief
-Guardian
-Necro

The complains are from SPVP mainly. The problem is that the mechanics of Terrormancer build are very easy, and playing SPVP pulls people to fight ina a very small area, where necromancer is god.

This is not a big problem in WvW because you have a lot of space.

Is exactly the opposite with thieves. They are actually in a very low rank now, but in WvW are very anoying because of the big space the have but in SPVP are not even close to be good as necro.

The combination of Conditions Damage+Vit+Def that most armors and jewels give is why conditional builds are a problem.

AOE conditional damage, with greate defensive stats and the most easy playing mechanics is why now necromancer looks so op.

And yes like someone said before . . . the main problem with all conditions issues is burn . . . just too much damage.

Mesmer is fine.

Condition Mesmer (i dont know the build name) is really strong.

They constantly dissapear and teleport while giving you a lot of conditions.

Phantom mesmer hits like a truck and kill you with not even see the real one.

I dont see really a bad profession, all of them are good . . . the problem is that some classes tanky-condition are too strong right now.

Necromancer, spirit ranger, condi mesmer, engi (stupid 5 mine hit 1 shot kill and with burn) to me are the kittene.

Is so sad how the most easy mechanic (condi AOE spam) is the most reward.

@OP Sigh. Another thread like this. If obviously are not main as a thief. First, there are not a lot of HS spammers. Second, you should be happy if you see a HS spammer. They are easy to kill.

Step 2: Dodge, dodge
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit

It really is that simple.

This, i dont know what are you complaining about, HS spammers are new thief players that doesnt know how to use it, they die in 3 sec.

- Skyhammer should not be in SoloQ, it sucks how guardians and necros can easily push u to clif death.

- Conditions are just stupid. A lot of conditional damage mixed with greate defense and hp pool.

- AOE high easy damage spam mechanic.

- No minimun rank to play SoloQ (too much noob).

- No efficient report system for people that is not helping team (like LoL)

- Ranking by games win/loses is stupid, it should be for the average points earned on each match.

- NO kitten REAL REWARD

I mean christ, you guys are crying about perma Poison, you realize that I can put 2mins of poison on your entire group as a Thief with a single Shortbow round….

LOL, we are not talking only about poison, actually is the less of our worries.

Bleed, Burn, Fear combination es the problem, meta classes right now spam a lot of them in a second with a lot of stacks.
