I’m not a big fan of jumping puzzles (Actually I hate them), and there is quite a bit of required jumping in HoT.

However I just have to endure them as they are a necessity to progress through the game.

Whatever game you decide to play there’s going to be some bits you don’t like, and others that you do like.

Just to add to that, I’m not keen on flying or jump pads in games either.

However I think the gliding and jumping mushrooms have been very well executed in HoT.

I just like the way poi’s etc light up ones you’ve missed when you hover over them when on the map.

Ah yes, try a real Korean MMO/grind such as Silkroad Online, botting is mandatory. (Not really but hundreds do, and it’s a real business).

Moving on at least GW2 has content somewhat.

As a player who always hated flying and jump pads in games, I have to say this is good, the ArenaNet team got the gliding and jumping just right.

I want to address people saying that two people aren’t a guild. They are a guild, if they put in the effort to have guild things before, and work for it, and now it’s taken away. I’m part of a larger guild that has a guild hall and wants us to upgrade and is constantly in guild chat harping about “what we need now.”

I’m also part of a smaller two person guild, which might get a few more members when my cousin and her husband get HoT eventually. Who are ANY of you to tell us that we’re not a guild? 2 people guilds are guilds just like 400 people guilds are guilds. We had guild bank and other things before this change over, I haven’t looked to see if we still have it but, if not, we’re kind of screwed, because we can never get a guild hall or afford the upkeep on a guild hall.

There should be smaller guild halls for smaller guilds. It’s not like we’re asking for a whole city to ourselves. Just a small place to go that we can afford, and update, like we were doing.

Make some friends? There are tens of thousands of other players out there willing to help you. The only reason why you don’t have a way to progress is because you don’t want to (invite other people, make friends, etcs). It’s called an MMO for a reason.

The trouble is most large guild are drama-fests, often with arrogant people in them that say things like “it’s called an MMO for a reason” … nothing directed at you, of course.

I was (Still am a bit) getting a lot of crashes, every 10 minutes or so, put graphics down to minimum and it’s somewhat less often now.

Yes I was quite shocked when I logged in this morning, Hero Points reset and 250 points ready to be used.

You can’t say ArenaNet don’t listen to their players.

Agreed, I think there should be large guild halls for large guilds, and smaller guild halls for smaller guilds.

It’s been worth it to me, lots of content and maps.

yeah about every 15 minutes, doesn’t seem to make any difference what I’m doing, been in some big events, lots of people, no crash, walk 3 paces, crash.

I think the emphasis should be summed up to Guild Wars original concept of “Play how you want”.

OK some content is going to need a few players to complete, that doesn’t always mean you have to be in a party, just a group of players, ie. more that one.

I’m pretty much a solo player, small guild 3 people, I have no aversion to being in a party.

I have solo’d everything in HoT so far, I have never even had a party invite in HoT, although I generally get some on the original maps.

Some people just like to be in a party, wherever they are on a map or whatever they might be doing, quite often you will see people looking for a party, any party as soon as they join a map.

As for me, I just go with the flow, if somethings hard I just wait until other people turn up.

There will always be zealots who will say the same stuff about it’s called “Guild Wars for a reason” or it’s “An MMO your supposed to be in a party”, but none of that’s really true.

Just let people play as they want, not how you think they should be playing “According to you”.

Most have all, however you decide to play…………… Have fun, be nice !

So, per Colin’s statement, a small guild of 3, or 6, or, 9, or 11 real life family, friends, relatives, and co-workers does not constitute a real guild anymore, is that correct Colin? Really!?

Husbands, wives, and kids? Not a real guild? Really!?

I know for a fact, that there are grandparents playing the game with their grand-kids to be able to hang out, if only through their avatars. They are not really considered a guild!? (You should cherish this fact, not quash it!)

Guilds like this are supposed to invite outsiders into their personal guild, so they can grow-up into a real guild now? Hardly! These players don’t deserve to be able to open the guild hall they paid for? They wouldn’t benefit greatly by having a guild hall to hang out in, and incentive to play the game more? And to think…They paid for it with the expansion pack with hard green cash!

Personally, I paid the full $100 for it, to help development costs, and, help get one sooner. And, so did some of my (“guildies?”). And, now, we are being told that because we all work different shifts, and some are busy raising children, and some are temporarily sidelined with internet connection problems, that we can’t open our guild hall. Nor, earn guild credits for doing things we do. Unless, of course, we pay other players (or, recruit from our other guilds) to help open it. Or, invite outsiders, that we don’t know in real life, into all of our small friends and family guilds?

And, to think, it is just an instance on our computers. One that we paid hard cash for mind you!

I find it really quite insulting, to so many of us, that Colin essentially stated that a small guild with “husbands and wives and kids”, or even one with “3 generations of family”, (you read that right, they do exist in game), is “Not even considered a real guild anymore”. The core values of this game have apparently gone right into the toilet. What happened to Eye of the North values, where we all had our own personal halls to share as we pleased?

The dictionary defines a guild as: “an organized group of people who have joined together because they share the same job or interest.” Maybe we do. Maybe just not in the same time slots.

Personally, I feel that my guild can’t really contribute to much of anything anymore. We can’t even +5 camps in WvW anymore, we can’t earn points for anything to contribute to anything anymore, because we suddenly don’t really count as a guild anymore. Because we all have real lives, and we all work, and play, on different schedules. And, we don’t want people that we can’t call on the phone, or hang out with in real life, in our guild.

But, we do see each other in real life regularly, and can discuss how we probably won’t have a guild hall any time soon, if ever. Nor, can we do anything in game that benefits our guild anymore, because we can’t seem to get 5 of us together at the same time. And, it instantly makes them want to play less, not play more.

Yet somehow our small guild that “Isn’t really considered a guild anymore”, previously, had all kinds of things earned, which have now been mostly taken away. So, to combat abusers of the system, you would quash the true Guild Wars players that have often been with you since the beginning of GW1? Seems more like “Anti-Guild Wars” to me. Yo, computer nerds, you’re now required to join the football team, and cheer-leading squads! Be a part of the new big corporate guild conglomeration! Join the guild union! Show up for guild meetings, or get kicked. 100% rep. guild now taking applications, fill out an application, and we’ll consider you for our big guild, but only if you run approved builds, and can play at least 80% of the time in your designated time slots, and only if you are a profession we need! Shape up and play right!

….Or, you don’t really count as a real guild anymore. No thank you.

We’ll get our guild hall open, one way or another, someday. But, IMHO, it’s not the way it ever was, nor, is it the way it should be now. It’s essentially brings new meaning to being “guild kicked”. And, it’s not exactly fun, nor rewarding, listening to everyone else in game talking about their wonderful new guild halls. While so many of us don’t really even have a chance to open our own, on our own. Feels pretty lousy to a lot of us. Especially due to the $50 to $100 that the rest of us spent towards developing “their” shiny new guild halls.

What speed do you get if you do a speed test ?

I don’t know, 500kb/s is quite slow anyway, maybe try offpeak times, let it run overnight while your at work/school whatever.

Just opened my hero panel……….. just GW2 has stopped responding, no option to send a report.

Crashing here more and more on HOT. (Never crashed before hot).

Started off about once an hour (Acceptable after a launch) but now it’s every few minutes and getting unplayable.

Generally when I’m doing something with other people, like the planting eggs thing, so I either log back in dead or the events over and no rewards for me.

Very frustrating.

Yes I’ve had a few random rashes recently, and it used to never ever crash.

Just crashes for no particular reason, sometimes get the send crash report message, sometimes a hard reset lockup, it varies.

I like it, however I just came to a bit I can only call platformy (Jumping/flying/gliding/etc) now I don’t like it.

I suggest you wait until you hear back from Support or your account is released. There is a posting on here somewhere where someone did what you are proposing and they are still stuck with a suspended account. I am guessing it could complicate things even further.

Don’t add a legitimate key to a suspended account, it will still be suspended.

Get it sorted out first.

They have no right to disable your basic account, you are only getting a refund on the HOT expansion.

Particularly if you bought your original vanilla GW2 account, you payed for it, what right would they have to disable it ?

Even if you were a free to play player, the account should revert back to a ftp account as it was when you were a ftp player.

They (ArenaNet) need to make any refund details and the consequences clear for people.

What…? What planet are you guys on, is there free healthcare there? Much of the content is locked behind mastery walls, and you need to grind to access those tiny little quirks TO EXPLORE.

I can grind, after all it is an MMO.

And the grind is a lot less that a few other MMO’s I could name.

Just play the game, you’ll get there, whats the rush.

So I assume you’ve changed ISP’s several times, but the connection run’s over the same wire/fibre/optical cable.

Some more details of location, connection type etc might help, if I was paying for a 500Mb/s connection I would want it to work.

You pay (I presume) for a 500Mb/s connection, it’s their problem.

Probably nothing anybody can do for you here.

Try to get a refund on the HOT you bought then get your original account unbanned (If you can) before you buy it again.

500mb/s that’s fast, I only get 20Mb/s which I’m quite happy with and I never get any problems with downloading.

Supplying a new code to a banned account will not unban it. You have to get it unlocked by CS before applying a new code. You will have to continue with CS and let them know you already added a new code to the account.

Currently the Hero Challenge Icon is Green, when you complete it, it inverts itself, but is still green, today I seen several people complaining about this, this would be a Quality of Life update, you should make the unattained ones Red( or a bright colour ), and make them turn Green once you complete them.

If a player can handle upgrading a guild all by himself, then there is no reason to take that away from him… I don’t care if it is a glorified party, they could manage it before and now they can’t, the expansion has essentially wasted all their time and effort. They already said it right, it should be “recommended” for 3 players, not a forced requirement.

If I think I can handle our SPvP daily, as the only one who cares about SPvP in my small 5 man group, then by god, let me. Its not going to cost you something to let me try.
