I think the statistics of how many copies of GW2 have been sold and how many people playing prove that your not completely right OP.
I guess it’s not for everybody, and something will (Maybe) come along one day and better it.
You have to buy the game in order to play? LOL
Anyways I didn’t quit… I just run around these days. Boring game, but extremely eye candy.
Yes I know you have to buy the game to play, but I don’t suppose everybody who bought the game is still actively playing.

Join the “I never got anything good” club, I am a founder member, and have never got a decent drop or anything good from a chest, bag, crate, box or any other form of container, since (and including) beta.

NO to Mounts!!!!!!!!! Want mounts? Go play some of the many other games with mounts in them
or go play GW1 and find a wurm in Nightfall. GAME ON
How can you say NO to mounts just like that, many people would like mounts.
I don’t like jumping puzzles or flying gliding jump pads, or whatever it is, doesn’t mean I just say NO to them, many people enjoy them.
Ans “Go play something else”, really you said that.
Best mounts I have seen were in Silkroad Online, also in Neverwinter, (Horses as well), really good and a faster way of getting about. Mind you it was a much bigger game world.
And yes I would like to see mounts, but only horses, not all sorts of weird stuff.

The Asus. (Maybe).
Edit…………… I would go for the Asus, but that’s just me.
Flying and jumping pads, two things I have always hated in games.
And you can get attacked whilst your flying, this just gets worse for me (Or better if you look at it that way).
I hope there’s no jumping puzzles (I hate them), but I’m guessing there will be a few.
That is a little strange to say. Can you really hate them so much you don’t want other players to be able to participate in activities they enjoy, in this instance, jumping puzzles? I mean, I hate mushrooms, but I don’t want people to stop cooking with them, I just don’t want to eat them. If what you mean is that you hate the small semi"jumping puzzles" that lead to some vista or poi, I can understand; however a real jumping puzzle has no impact on other players who do not participate in them.
I’d like to mention that jumping puzzles are a big part of why I bought this game originally. (I couldn’t stand not jumping in gw1) I love them, and hope they have quite a few hidden around the new areas.
Not strange, it’s like me saying “I hope there’s no broad beans with dinner I hate them”…………
PS
I don’t really hate them, I like them, broad beans that is.
It’s a pointless junk item to most people, that just fills up your inventory, just rubbish.
Cant sell it to anybody, I just scrap it, but it’s annoying.
(Just like many other junk items in this game).
Now that is a first class suggestion, yeah lets have that please.

Can’t you just do this ?
Why do you need to know that all the time? You can’t change it.
Exactly, why, why obsession with FPS and ping, you would only want to see that if the games running badly.
I hope there’s no jumping puzzles (I hate them), but I’m guessing there will be a few.
I think you’ll find the login range covers a big range, ie mine is….

Chest runs are fun…………………..
Dual wield to me is two katanas, rapiers, etc, one in each hand.
Two weapons the same.
As per NWN1 Rangers.
About 15.5GB then more later for Hot.
Of course magic find works, I always run with magic find and I’ve found one (1) good item in 2000 hours plus (+) of game play.
You can only buy HoT now and it comes with the original game thrown in, so they will be able to play immediately as soon as you buy it.
+1
I love my Ranger, but it’s always been below par.
Nice post OP some good points there, not that anythings going to ever change for the better for the Ranger.
An arrow in the head usually does the trick !
Not a Precursor, but this just came from a chest……….
>-<
how many ranger are there and how many rangers complain here.
>-<Rangers that take the game & their class seriously & have not yet moved on to an other class (ele, warrior)? Not that many. I mean, to take the kind of abuse we take requires a special kind of stubborn person.
Stubborn, that must be me, only ever played one Ranger since being on beta.
Iv’e seen the ups (none) and downs (loads) of the Ranger.
Wouldn’t it be nice to play a Ranger that feels like he or she is adding something to a group/event or whatever.
I don’t think anybody at Arenanet plays a Ranger.
Ah only played a couple of thousand hours, guess I’m not due any good stuff yet.
Never even got a sniff at anything even remotely any good.
Am I bitter, you bet I am !
Something worth about 3 gold in almost 3000 hours of game time.
The whole map, as in map of the world? Or area map like Queens Dale? If its the whole world, the answer will change over time as new areas are added. So that might be why you can’t get a solid answer.
the whole world as it is now.
to above post; thanks, but that also doesn’t include the new areas, does it? and I heard it wasn’t very accurate because they didn’t account for Z axis (Which maguuma will have A LOT of.)
You can’t count the “Z” Axis, we are talking square kilometers here, not cubic kilometers !
And no it doesn’t include the new area’s nobody even knows will be new just yet, because nobody can go there !
About 94 square kilometres.
Kudos goes to Vanguard Scout.
For more details.
I liked my GW1 Ranger, everything about it, the barrage, the armour…..
Ranger wants a rifle, not a stupid staff.
Thieves can have staff, I don’t want it. Give me rifle.
My old GW1 Ranger armour back in GW2, just as it was.
This is an old screenshot, not so good quality.
Happy I bought it, having played since beta day’s it was a must buy for me.
Not happy with my Ranger and wish they would do something with it.
14th May 2012, I think this was during beta.
Mine was the Karka event at Southsun Cove.
It was chaotic, bedlam, the adrenalin was flowing, many people died, none of us knew what to expect, and we had never seen a Karka before.
Complete madness, but I loved it, lets have more events like this.
A couple of screenshots I took…..
Heres hoping for new pet skins come HoT for more variety!
I wasn’t really hoping for that, I think we have enough to pick from.
I was just hoping it would go away.
So what would happen if ANet had a Patreon?

Arenanet are not a charity.
Want to give them money, buy gems.
Definition of Patron…..
noun
1.
a person who is a customer, client, or paying guest, especially a regular one, of a store, hotel, or the like.
2.
a person who supports with money, gifts, efforts, or endorsement an artist, writer, museum, cause, charity, institution, special event, or the like:
So we are all Patron’s really.
(edited by Solid Gold.9310)
They said right from the launch of GW1 that it would never be a subscription game.
It’s no good talking about this because it’s never going to happen.
If you feel the need to support the game financially, buy gems.
Dood, ranger players have been banging on about this since Beta.
Anet is only interested in you using your pet at all times no matter what because reasons.
Pretty much this sums up the situation.
You WILL use your pet whatever.
I would love to be able to stow my pet away, and maybe the Ranger should get a buff to make up for it.
I would love to be able to store it away on jumping puzzles, it gets in the way, I know it can be stored, but it pops out again as soon as you take any damage, or even if you trip over a leaf.
I should be able to store it away in towns, and it stays away, even if I fall over.
Love my Ranger, but sometimes hate my pet.

Thank you, just wondered why clicking the map showed me various PoI’s, thinking I needed to go to them to do something.
Come to think of it, why would it keep doing that ?
(edited by Solid Gold.9310)
You are looking for the enchanted key.
You have to be almost right on top of it in order to get it.http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Enchanted_Key
Also after you’ve gotten the key, the map will still show you where to go, but you can only get the key once per account.
Yeah OK I’ve got the key, and now the map is showing me where to go, to do what when I get there ?
And the map is still sending me back to where I got the key from ??
Yes I did find some sparkly things in Lions Arch, at the Order of Whispers HQ, but the map still takes me to that location, strange.
Apart from that I haven’t got a clue what I’m supposed to be looking for.
Having collected the four pieces to the Enchanted Treasure Map, when I use it the map cycles me through six PoI’s around the world in various places, showing each one with a box with three question marks in it.
Having searched around some (Not all) of these Poi’s I have not found anything at all.
Any clues here what I’m supposed to be looking for ?
Don’t know about you, but I have a shedload of stuff to do in my achievements panel.
Like I said suffish.4150, I don’t want to become a researcher and I don’t want to have to wade through the wiki, forums or any other 3rd party website, and I’m sure many other people don’t want to, or don’t have the time to do that.
I just want to play the game, and I (Personally) feel more could be done (Not just some vague clue), to point people to the correct area.
And as I have said, especially with so many new players joining.
(edited by Solid Gold.9310)
The actual achievements are pretty self explanitory if you view them just browsing or doing content as it was intended (Drytop, SW, dungeons etc)
HOWEVER, for say, jumping puzzles, there’s no clues. I suppose the UI could have an event-esque popup stating there is a jumping puzzle near by. This would disable for those who already completed the puzzle and got the achievement for it.
Jumping puzzles are part of the list of achievements, and yes I haven’t got a clue where many of those are either.
And yes of course some are very simple “Kill 100 golems” or whatever, many of the achievements are self explanatory in what to do, but NOT where this achievement might take place.
Mtpelion, I think the OP doesn’t know the SW/Breach/VW cycle, so s/he is looking for the beekeeper all over the place.
If you don’t want to look it up or ask (and I can respect the stance of wanting to figure it out all by yourself), then for your example clue you just need to spend time in SW learning the cycle. Once you have figured out fort defense, bull escort, and the boss fight, and then tried out the three lanes on VW (which gets a huge red circle with arrows pointing to the lanes on your map), you’ll have found the beekeeper and probably gotten that achievement just by doing the fight right.
Sure, there are some achieves I can’t figure out without a guide, or I get without meaning to just from playing. But a lot of them only require you to become familiar with the area where they occur and then you understand the clue and need only work on the mechanics of achieving the requirements.
Heck, if you want to figure it out yourself, don’t ask them to spell out exactly step by step how to do it!
It’s nothing to do with the beekeeper, it’s about the, just a rough guess 100 maybe or more achievements I have left to complete, after playing since the start of the game.
There’s only so many hours in the day which many people will be able to play, I don’t see anything wrong with a little clue as to where an area is, let’s face it we can all look it up if we want to, so why not just give a clue to save us having to keep switching between websites.
People starting off, new from level one, will find this quite frustrating.
I should have guessed to “Beekeeper” achievement would be a bad idea as an example
I don’t see how that achievement description can be any more clear.
You must stand behind a honeycomb during the beam attack being done by the Vinewrath when fighting the Mordrem Beekeeper.
There is only one Vinewrath and he only has one Mordrem Beekeeper. Find a honeycomb and stand behind it.
That said, there are a few that need some additional tracking (instead of just listing paths 3/4 are done, tell us which are done/not done, etc.).
I did say I picked that one totally at random, the general implication of the post is that many achievements are difficult to locate, and I don’t want to have to rely on a 3rd party website to tell me where it is.
I have loads of achievements in my hero panel I haven’t completed and I’ve been trying to work my way through these.
I have played in the beta and since the beta including GW1., some 2000 hours on GW2 (Not a lot by some standards).
I’m having a lot of problems (and frustration) because most achievements give no clue as to where they might be, I don’t want to keep looking on Dulfy, Youtube or some other such website.
For example the achievement, (And I’ve just picked one at random) “Covered In Bees” Description reads " Use a honeycomb to avoid taking damage from the Mordrem Vinewrathe’s beam while fighting the Mordrems beekeeper" OK I know it’s in the Silverwastes, brilliant, so I wander around the Silverwastes hoping to stumble upon this achievement.
Or I can minimise the game and look on it up Dulfy, but I didn’t want to become a sort of “Researcher”, I do look at it as cheating a little bit.
With the (Hopefully) massive influx of new players starting from level one, and the addition of HoT they will find it equally or even more frustrating than I am after playing from the outset.
How about a clue in the description of the general area an achievement can be found in, around this waypoint or this point of interest, a few, not many, actually give some sort of clue to the area.
After the last patch at last like my Ranger, I have played since the beta, only ever played a Ranger, never really thought my Ranger was up to par.
And now at last I feel like a level 80 in a level 80 area, and not a level 60 in a level 80 area.
I feel like I am pulling my weight in group events, not some hanger on skirting around the edges.
Now the phrase “Time to do some real damage”, a Ranger saying that always made me laugh, actually means something.
I only PVE and not PVP, although I have done a bit of WWW.
I guess I’m just waiting for the massive nerf that will put an end to any elation I am feeling at the moment.
