This is purely a learn to play issue.

After 1473 hours on my GW2 Ranger and 6 or 7 years on my GW1 Ranger, you’ll have to do better than an answer like that.

You can’t just come here and say it’s a ltp issue, for all we know your poncing around in Queensdale all the time.

Try reading some of the posts, people who have played Rangers for many hours, experienced Rangers, Rangers who have played Rangers in other mmo’s. no no ltp is a shoddy cop out answer.

I would have liked to get dive master, but there’s jumping puzzles.

I have 3 area’s not completed, but there’s jumping puzzles.

I would have liked to complete these two thing’s.

I do have 100% map completion, but 3 areas are still only almost compete, and staring at me everytime I open the hero panel.

I know in don’t have to do them, but not doing them prevent me from completing other stuff.

Seriously? What possible reason could there be to negative ten something like this? There should be only two sides: Yes I want more jumping puzzles and putting them in the cities is fun. I don’t enjoy jumping puzzles and so I wouldn’t gain anything by this, but it doesn’t effect me either way and there are people who do enjoy it so whatever.

Where does, I don’t like it so you shouldn’t have it fit into that?

Yeah a bit harsh of me, some people like them, I hate them.

If you like them good for you, in my opinion there’s far too many of them.

And there are jumping puzzles that prevent me from completing other achievements, world completion and dive master for two, so it does affect me in other ways.

I think some people will keep doing it, I still have trouble getting into main on my home world.

Did it a couple of hours ago, the rewards are total dross.

And I know I sound like I’m just ranting but I’m not. I like the idea of being a ranger and I want this class to be decent for once. I don’t want to reroll anything. I just want to log in and play ranger. I keep playing around with as much as I can to improve it with as little as Anet gives you but this class just does not work. The traits are ridiculous, the skills are ridiculous. They are not helpful! There’s skills/traits that you use that should be standard because you’re dead without having them equipped and all you folks that play ranger know what I’m talking about.

I know I sound like I’m harping on about it sometime, but I’m similar to you, I just want to log in and do my Ranger stuff, I only have a Ranger, will only ever have a Ranger, so I want to feel that I can go to any part of the game and pull my weight, not rely on others to carry me.

With the new stuff that’s being added the pet is even more useless, there is zero chance they will ever get the pet right, it’s supposed to be a class mechanic and it’s dead 90% of the time, or dashing about confused.

Our damage is low, and survivability low.

Some insist we keep the pet and go on about synergy, meta, and words I don’t think they understand, or micro manage, if they want to keep the pet that’s fine, give other’s the option.

Personally I’m sick of seeing my pet hobbling around twisted and bent, on cool down so I can’t swop it.

So yeah +10 to the OP.

Trouble is, nobody seems to want to do it anymore, I’m on a very high populated server, and Devastation is just deserted, as are many other area’s in the game.

What a shame, all that work they put into the whole world, and it’s just like a ghost town because everybodies just crowded around a couple of events.

Yeah lets have a PROPER expansion, not this tacked on stuff, there’s no game content in the stuff they are adding now.

Nah this is NOT my idea of fun, standing around for hours lfg and they are already looking for experienced only.
Never liked instanced content it just shuts a lot of people out of doing it.

And you are all missing the word OPTIONAL.

No. I saw you say optional. But what you, and many others, seem to not realize is that by making it optional most, if not all, PvE rangers will immediately abandon the pet due to the issues. At that point anyone that continues to run a pet will be shunned by the general community like they already shun bear/bow rangers. And that shunning will persist until and unless the pets get not only fixed, but made OP.

Basically the problem isn’t that it would be an option. The problem is the meta that would result from it and make pets considered unviable.

Wait, we are already shunned, really, seems the shunning has persisted from just after beta, and you would like that to continue I guess, when somebody could just ask “Would you mind running this without a pet”.

So what if Rangers run without pets when they want to, what’s the big deal, don’t meta me this or that.

There are situations where the pet is fine and there are situations where the pet is completely unviable, why not let us choose when and where we run with a pet, then we would be welcome in any area of the game.

I only have a Ranger, I will only ever have a Ranger, I did storyline dungeons then had several bad experiences and haven’t been in a dungeon since, I would like to experience the whole game with my Ranger without the added worry of being booted from dungeon parties because of my pet, or having to spend hours trying to get in a party because I’m a Ranger.

With the new content being added in “Dungeon” instanced format, I feel even more excluded, at least with TEQ open world content I could take part.

Let’s let that process come to it’s conclusion, good or bad, and in a reasonable timeframe before just abandoning the pets.

That time frame for me has been the last year (about 9 months of that I actually played). Done with waiting.

So now that they’re actually seeming to be actively working on it, when before they were not, you’re still to impatient and want it perfect now? How demanding … and rude …

Hey, just because they are suddenly “working on it” by giving them more HP doesn’t excuse the last 9 months I’ve been waiting for them to make the pets worth a kitten . Don’t care if you find it rude. Fact remains that they’ve had time to fix this. It’s not like this is a single weapon skill or a single trait that sometimes doesn’t work right. This is a core mechanic of a class that has major problems. They’ve had long enough to fix it. I don’t think they can. If they could have, they would have. That really is what it comes down to. Glad the glass is half full for you, but for most of us who main a ranger Anet emptied the glass then threw it against the wall.

They’ve had a long time to fix it, either fix it or give us the option.

The option to use a pet or not won’t affect those that think the pet can be “micro managed”, and think the pet is worth using.

The pet to me is a game breaker.

Yeah, I’m usually the last to die too, if we wipe. I don’t have problems inside the dungeon once the group let me in, the problem is when I join a group and they start talking like “A ranger? Really?”, “Do you have another character?” or they just vote-kick me before we even start.

Yup that’s really demoralizing, it was worse in the earlier days so I just didn’t do dungeons, and have never done them since.

But it’s just another thing I don’t want to wait around for ages only to get kicked and start all over again.

I only have a Ranger, so there’s no hope for me.

I wouldn’t go quite as far as pretty good, many of us spent hours, days trying to get out of overflow on our home server just to get TEQ done, now they up the rewards, doesn’t sound pretty good to me.

I guess as a Ranger this will be another event we are not welcome in.

A LOT of area’s even on a very highly populated server are desolate.

I’m on Desolation and it’s like a ghost town in a lot of area’s.

Items such as this, and many more items in the “shop” should be account bound, this is just pure greed.

Still had loads of people AFK, but still did it, about 3 were fighting TEQ lol.

Just defend the turrets, you can be East, West, it doesn’t matter so long as you don’t lose a turret.

WE need an in game NOTIFICATION like the invasion notification on screen.
If there’s no way of knowing TEQ is up loads of people just won’t bother going, nobody want’s to camp out in Sparkfly forever it’s just totally boring.
The event is likely to die and loads of people won’t be able to kill TEQ.

We got it ok last night, didn’t bother with TEQ just defended the turrets, and got it with no problem.

In fact I was way east all the time where the boat remains are with about 15 others, we didn’t move from there.

They arent getting rid of pets. If anything what we need to request is a transformation of the idea into something that might make us happy.

For a start, let me suggest “spirit” pets. They get attributes like real pets etc, but they dont actually need to manifest and run around to attack, they just appear at the person and automatically get their attacks, albeit weaker than ordinary pet.

edit: Kind of like phantasms from mesmer…

Oh yeah that would really be “Rangerish”.

Yeah it’s all a bit lame and sterile, but I guess it’s aimed at kiddies (What are we doing here).

But yeah we’ve had blood and gore in games like Diablo, Neverwinter Nights, Kingpin (oops showing my age), and plenty of other games, lets face it this is all fantasy anyway.

Luckily I have only bought one set of armour with karma, so have a bit left over.

Yeah Iv’e had that quite a few time’s, trapped in the WP, not in Lions Arch though, and it cost’s me to get out of it, it’s ok to charge for WP’s, but not to charge if you get trapped by a game bug.

Desolation, IF you can get into main, good commanders.

It’s my home server but only ever got into main twice.

It’s worth the purchase price as it’s b2p not a sub game.

I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody as the list of thing’s that I don’t like is growing longer and longer.

And they don’t seem to listen to us.

I think it was designed for casual gamer’s, however, I think it went seriously wrong for Anet, probably why they haven’t posted anything in this forum.

Your serious, 100% up time, meaning 100% not DEAD ?

Funny because invasions, TEQ, generally any content that’s been added just lately, my pet seems to have about 5% up time on a good day.

The Karka event was brilliant, I remember following the pack over the hills, and the tree’s coming down, standing on the fountain looking things trying to kill this enormous thing knowing it would roll any second and take out loads of people.
