This has been done to death just because you get more rewards from daily dose not mean you MUST do them. If any thing its you who is making the game grinding because THAT is how you play mmorpgs.
Do you buy ever deal that you see on a store? MUST you buy ever deal you see? No because you have a brain. Just because something is more rewarding dose not make it a must do.
Most of these daily events are do able in less then 30 mins. And for some reason this is too much for ppl to do i think gaming is the least of there worry and not whether or not that they can do every thing in a game.

Just because you breath doesn’t mean you MUST do it.

Absolutely not. Absolutely not acceptable to add an inspect gear function. Absolutely not.

In case that wasn’t understood, I’ll rephrase. I am absolutely positively 100% adamantly against the addition of an inspect gear function in this game.

If people want any information of any kind aside from my visual model… they should need to ask. And I will CHOOSE what they may know… and what they may not. Why? Because privacy that’s why… and because it isn’t your right to know anything about my character if I don’t choose to share it with you… and because if you can’t be bothered to type a simple message to me, you don’t deserve to know jack.

We already have an equipment ping… and when people take the time to ASK ME what I’m wearing… I happily share… and usually enjoy the conversation that ensues trait choices and gear combinations.

That would be nice, but what if they just lie to you? You would turn out to be (censored). And if this is so friendlysocialcasual game why Magic Find in the first place? Or agony?

I have no fear of people lying to me… because when I ask about gear I have no jerk wad elitist agenda.

To be honest… I kick… often… but not for gear. I kick people for bad attitudes and player abuse… I often tell people I have a zero tolerance policy in my parties rudeness, elitist attitudes, and other forms of trolling. Zero tolerance… also people who don’t interact in party chat never get an invite to come again.

This is the culture I desire in my groups… I wonder if I should start lobbying for a “player score” system where players can rate other plates based on personality… then I can “inspect” their personality and choose to boot them for being kittens long before they ever get a chance to rear the trolly little heads.

Then you just have no idea what Fractals of the Mist are or Simin before nerf.

Every single person who has stated that they want to see inspect in the game is wrong. Every single person who sais that the only stats you should see is AR and MF is WRONG.

“Why are we wrong salacious, your such a troll. Mr mod….”

Let me tell you mr elitist troll. AR means nothing to me. I can usually dodge direct attacks that are trying to or plan to inflict agony. You do not have the right to kick me from your fractal run because my AR is <5 or even 0. Why? Because by that logic mr troll I cannot run a fractal with any one, ever…..Until I have enough laurels to buy my fractals.

And by that logic, well I guess there can only be one “epic all time player of fate”…..Get off your high horse. This is also in state to your inspect gear. No. You don’t get to see my gear, you don’t get to judge me. You don’t get to tell me how to run a shatter build on a mes, how to run a tank like build on a guardian. Your elitist trollism.

I don’t care if I only have MF gear with no AR and a exotic bird. I can run that build based on my traits and skills – which are another thing you don’t get to see mr troll – why? because I get to play exactly how I want. I ran a full set of MF through a level 10 fractal with NO AR on a mesmer shatter like build and survived…..That’s right mr trolls, I survived. I got the loot – why? because I deserve the loot, you don’t. You didn’t run the set, you didnt set your self up for the challenge and get the fun rewards.

The mistake GW made was allowing the kicking of people from dungeon or fractal runs. You don’t get to kick me because I’m running no AR, a pure MF and surviving while your all whipeing. It doesn’t affect me, its not my fault you can run your own kitten build.

So whats the point?

You don’t get to look at my skills, my traits, my armour, my any thing and judge me on how I choose to play.

IT DOESN’T AFFECT YOU.

“Yes it does mr troll man….The internet is serious business and I need only other Hitler’s to run with me!!!”

I know how to play my character, ya I am going to die, so are you – by that logic I should be kicking you for dying once >.> – mr eltist players NEVER die…. (sarcasm)

The gear I choose to run, the way I choose to play is my buisness and I have NOT found an issue in a dungeon or in a fractal because I know how to balance my class out.

currently I am running full zerker gear on a shatter like build. I only got rares except for one exotic armour and exotic weapons. I have no AR, I support you with TW and Null Field. I run a staff build to get my clones but also use DS – there are people who will kitten me for this build because its “not a cooki cuter from site pronhub.com” well guess what – who cares, I made the build my self, I like it, it works in groups and solo.

Get off your high horse elitist troll man.

We the tiny people of america are better then you.

This is exact type of players that would be insta kicked from my party, MF leecher + noob (how can you dodge maw agony? oh, wait, you want me to ress you right?)

I’m really shocked that people take games so serious. Game companies are not your friends! The reasons why you like one company above another is pure PR. Blizzard isn’t the good guy and Activision isn’t the bad guy. Both of them just want to make money! Do you think that any of their co’s play games and want their only goal is so that people have fun with their products?

All publicly traded corporations have the same end goal. This does not mean they have the same strategy for reaching that goal. Why would anyone use a different strategy? Because the market of people willing to tolerate kitten has already been saturated.

But lets face it, Blizzard has best programmers and game designers just like Bioware in terms of single player RPG.

You know, I have to wonder if they’ll tack on the guild merit requirements to every guild thing they add after this to keep them “useful”.

Small guilds will love it if guild halls come out and we can’t build them due to not having enough people to run the merit missions.

One would then wonder why such a small group requires a guild hall. It would be like building a YMCA for a family of 4.
Maybe you can build a guild tent or something =)

I realize this is off-topic, but I wanted to respond:

Our 4 person guild, back in DAoC, had a mansion, 2 houses and a cottage. These were outdoor buildings in a large neighborhood (think zone).

The mansion became the place for us to house our trophies, have a place to call “home away from home”, a place to “hearthstone” to, a place to store items the in guild vault for sharing and a place to offer some of top tier gear for fellow players to purchase (and sometimes bargained for when they couldn’t afford to pay the full price). Between the mansion and the houses, we provided crafting stations, merchants and teleport NPCs for the neighborhood.

We often had folks come by to just hang out and talk.

The memorable one was the night a young man in another guild in our alliance found out his mother had cancer. He lived in England, we were in Northern CA.

He didn’t just want to “talk” via an impersonal chat channel, he wanted, using his character to actually “be” there “face to face” with someone he knew cared, someone who was his mother’s age, someone he called “mom” in game, so he didn’t feel so alone.

We sat side by side in the small homey cottage and chatted for a while.

There were other incidents in game where someone’s friend had passed, or they just wanted a quiet place to hang out, or wanted some advice.

Although many players for years after housing went in DAoC talked about how it damaged community, I always remember that particular incident and was glad there was a “safe” place for my young friend to go.

Back on topic:

Yes, the only chat channels in GW2 are guild and map.

There is no housing. No place to go and visit.

I’d be hesitant to join a large guild where I would lose the ability to have personal conversations with those I care about.

+1
I really thought big guilds are better, but they aren’t, you are less then number there, they even force you to go forums and guild leaders still do whatever they want. If you help a guild that you don’t belong to, you get normal event rewards (karma, I guess, a little money) – but you don’t get anything related to the missions. I rather like that idea, though – and it seems like it would be easy to add in. If you help another guild do its mission, you get some commendation for yourself, & possibly something for your own guild. (I can see why they wouldn’t do that part, though)

That seems like a reasonable solution, & a lot more inspiration for little guilds to ask around & band together for missions.

This would be nice, also with some notice when you are on map with guild mission, i would really like to do them even with no reward. (FotM already bored me to death, and i can do other dungeons even with rares on guardian)

We didn’t split in teams, we hadn’t any idea what was going to happen so we didn’t have any clue to make decisions and organize things.

As for the “you should play for the sake of it”. If I see an equipment that is better than mine it’s only natural that I want it. And it’s also natural that I want it in a reasonable time. Especially considering that guild missions do not depend on my own skill or determination: they depend on my guild. Will they be willing to partecipate in many Guild Missions? Will we be able to clear them every single time? Will my admins bear the trouble of organizing the events?

This is what I found interesting….With the weekly reset and all, how is this different from a typical mmo raid?

The increased world boss rewards and of loot in general is what I believe to be what balances all this.

Ok so you’re a tight knit group? Then BE a tight knit group and play the game as you have been, farm up some gold and buy the influence. You as a guild can bunny hop from world boss to boss. The increased quality in loot ensures you’ll have what you need in a week or two (depending on play style or alts).

Now, does it suck that you have to spend all that influence on a completely irrelevant PvP tree? Sure but once all is said and done are you REALLY gonna care anymore?

No. Because you’ll have what you want.

Best thing for small guilds is to bite the bullet, cut your way through the tree and be done with it.

Or the small guilds will just switch to another game.

I dont’ know what you guys talking about. You can talk tactics or build all you want. If the other 4 people in your group sucks it is really hard to pull of a dungeon.

That is the frustration with pug and for people farming money which is essentially the center part of the game.

Like I always says. In other game, I played through hard dungeon, do it a few times get the drop I want and I never have to go through again.

In this game, after a hundred times doing the same dungeon I still have to do it again. And tolerate hours of wiping because my pug groupmate have no idea what to do. I think that’s the problem.

I think the simple resolution for the current Guild Missions system is this:

- Large guilds should have an advantage, but not as much as they have now over small guilds.

In order to correct this, just make it so the content is still somewhat gated, but the initial cost to research these missions is much less (say around 10k total). However, for large guilds, make the boosting mechanic even more expensive then it currently is. That way, large guilds simply get access to the content faster if they are willing to boost it out (say it gives them a 1 to 2 week advtange overall), but smaller guilds can still feel like they’re researching the mission, but on a longer scale. I think this would be a fair compromise.

Why don’t they just give us guild missions? So you can play them any time, make it bigger reward for bigger guilds or something, i don’t care that about reward friom guild missions. At this state, they are now worse then raids in WoW (didn’t play orig wow, only on some private)

Dig that quote up and link it, because I really want to read the context from which it was taken.

Even if ascended is finall tier (wich it probably won’t be with expansion) they can just add stronger infusions.

How about people asking for harder challenge suck it up and accept harder challenge with the same rewards? If you truly want a harder challenge, the challenge in itself should be rewarding enough for you.

As soon as you start adding HM, the only viable option for most groups becomes HM. The whole economy balances around HM and people who don’t want to run HM (because the reality is that HM pushes out less optimal builds and retains a similair difficulty to players who optimise their parties and builds, it’s not actually harder for them, they just have less viable build choices to complete it). This is what happened in GW1, this is what is happening in FotM and it’s what will happen if they add HM to dungeon explorables.

So correct me if i’m wrong, if most of the people want to stay on noob level skill, other good players have to stay on their lvl?

I fully support hard modes in games.

However, I can see many players feeling entitled to besting hardmode and obtaining its rewards. If implemented, it would need to be made absolutely clear that the content is not meant to be accessible by the entire playerbase.

If you can’t beat Euro Extreme mode in the MGS games, you don’t write a letter to Hideo asking for the next game to be easier. Hell, Hideo would make the next game harder out of spite.

i wish this would happen in gw2. and all the kids who are too lazy to think and learn from mistakes get a slap in their face.

And they should get slap in their face, cause of them everything is getting nerfed.

I don’t think a solo queue system would divide the community much, as long as Anet could effectively transfer the hotjoin pug community to ranked (hidden or not) solo queue matches. But for that to happen, I guess the rewards would need to exist and be visible. Hotjoin is currently “too good” to farm glory in 8v8, and a lot of people do it for that (in addition to not having to face premades).

It would divide it like 50 players this way and other 50 that way.

And why are still so many noobs in this game? This game does NOTHING to encourage you to be better player, just selfish exploiter/grinder (MF, RNG and taging in events and so)

This is exactly what i’m thinking about all the time.
Don’t get me wrong,i’m a new player myself-i only made my account a month ago.In a third week i had 2 pieces of arah set-head and shoulders-the others are also dungeon exotic…on my necro…i don’t have full arah only because it’s almost impossible to find a normal group to run it.In a guild i joined(500 members) when i ask for arah run- i get an answer from “veterans”: no man you can’t go to arah with a necro,it’s squishy and does no damage-you have to be warrior, otherwise you will be annihilated, and you only have 1200 points…so:
-I’m a newbie, who rolled a broken and squishy class(according to forums)…running arah (p1 and p2 so far)-with a boss who is almost impossible to kill(Lupi-according to forums)…so…Why are still so many noobs in this game?!?

I did all arah runs with necro (had to switch on ranger for simin, but it’s doable with necro power build, i think axe, never tried it)
This game was advertised as skilled games, not gear grind, and most of the players just do gear grinds (yes, jumping from dragon to dragon, and maw, fire, behemoth IS still grind, you still don’t need to explore anything again and some zones are still pretty dead) that they actually don’t need (cause almost everything is easy now)
Not to talk about promoting selfish gameplay (Magic Find in PvE, almost no reason to try to win a match in spvp hot join)

I’m broken seeing something like this… what about people who have tried to done it before a patch? For us “Dungeon Masters” from before the patch it’s a big joke… or at least that’s what I think myself.

There was a time, right up to around launch, that I had full confidence in this company as well. Everything they did, not just spoke about, indicated that they were keen advocates for their players and were doing everything in our best interests.

However, in the months since, the decisions they’ve made have made it clear to me that player enjoyment no longer was a priority. It’s as if some Wormtongue is whispering treasonous notions into their ears as they sleep, and those ideas are being thrown into the game without any thought.

Personally, I don’t have much of a problem with game bugs or technical weaknesses. I can live with those. It’s the actual decisions on how things should work in the game that I find abhorrent. ArenaNet has consistently succeeded in driving wedges into their player base, fracturing us with design mechanics that could so easily have been inclusive rather than exclusive.

The most recent example is the guild missions, which clearly have caused no end of anger and consternation with a huge cross-section of players. It would have been so easy to avoid this, but ArenaNet made a conscious decision to go forward with it anyway. That tells me they are either clueless as to what affect these types of mechanics are going to have on their players, or they just don’t care. That’s a long way from the company I remember from the months and years prior to release, who seemed to have their finger squarely on the pulse of their target audience and knew exactly what we were wanting from a game.

Frankly, it feels like completely different team from the one that got me hooked on the game with nothing more than a design manifesto. This one is not only out of touch with their community, but is borderline incompetent.

So yes, I would say that I no longer trust them. I’m not even sure who the hell they are anymore.

We of course understand that solo players would prefer a separate queue from premade teams, and it isn’t off the table as a future improvement. The trade off here, besides the extra development time, is that high rated solo queuers would get a better experience (never facing premades), at the expense of all team queuers getting a worse experience (longer queue times)

Reallity is that spvp is dying and guys are more willing to farm rank points (useless anyway) then learn to play and win.
And fix is so easy, make guys get rewards based on their overall score in team (1st place -this reward, 2nd place this and so on, winning team gets rewards doubled)

That is why i avoid arah, not cause it’s hard (besides p4) but for pugs. Just so many noobs that you are forced to be elitist (ask to link arah tokens and so).

This community never stops to amuse me, when i argued for AR and MF gear check (for High lvl fotm) i was called elitist this, elitist that. Now when they introduce yet another thing that separates community and it’s clearly some raid clone, same guys just shout:“Join big guilds, pay if in small and so on.” Fanboys are so easily manipulated.

It’s even worse with all these nerfs, you can end game in about 2 month (3h per day playtime), unless you want to grind legendary

it seems you don't want to give us our loot

Dungeon Master reportedly lost its prestige ?

There’s no such thing as dungeon master prestige.

Dungeons are done by route memorization and repetition, as is the standard in every mmo.

This isn’t a twitch fps shooter, getting the rarer achievements in this game just means you have too much time on your hands, not actual skill.

And why are still so many noobs in this game? This game does NOTHING to encourage you to be better player, just selfish exploiter/grinder (MF, RNG and taging in events and so)

Because just like in real life you will have people that are just bad at it. (Bad at gearing, bad at builds, bad at listening.)
There is also the possibility they are actually new to the game itself having bought it recently.

It does not change the fact that as a mmo with dungeon instances the key to beating them is through memorization, not actual “skills”.

So to say something has “lost its prestige” in this game is absurd since the only thing they indicate is the amount of time and tedium one is willing to suffer through.

News flash: Memorization is a skill.

Newsflash, it’s not.

Memorization is something anything with a brain has.

We are not talking about remembering complex algorithms, we are talking about simple grade school level memorization.

Are you a skilled typer? If so, how is that possible? Your motor “memory” remembers where the keys to press is.

You’re a doctor who knows how to operate surgery? How is that possible? You studied anatomy extensively throughout the years and “remembered” everything you’ve learned to obtain your PhD.

Memory is a skill. Not everyone memorizes / learns at the same speed.

Even a goldfish memorizes, does that mean its skilled?

Remembering to press 1,3,4, 7 in that order during a specific event is NOT rocket science.

Sadly for 90% players it is and i thought DotA had bad players.
