I suggest replacing the runes with cc runes or centaur or others. The only thing that affects that 4% is the sword 2 and the shatter, and the aa’s of course.
CC runes will help give cohesiveness with the build.
Its not the build. Its Pyro who’s OP.
I always felt the shatters come the least you expect it when i get hit with it. It did not matter whether I can tell which one is real.
Evading clones would require a lot of work. It means reworking the entire AI system. What would you think other AI classes would say about this? Evading pets? or Minions even?
^what?
nullfield removes boons and conditions
corrupt boon is single target
^^Thank you. I appreciate it. Pm your build.
I will. haha. I can’t think of a better name for it.
They should fix purity,nullification along with generosity to proc only at their conditional triggers.
I was wondering about your rune choice. why ogre?
Just make diversion aoe. I don’t think it would be OP. you still need to go 30 in illusions to make it 36secs.
@chaos.
Have you ever had those fights that you run out of interrupts.? mantra needs to be charged and others are on cd.
If only MoD was just on a regular cd no charges needed.
Magic bullet vs sword 4 is a hard choice, the deal breaker for me is the cooldown trait, sword cooldowns is only in adept major whereas pistol mastery is in a master slot.
Master slot = duel X or other traits
Sword 4 on mastery is also on lower cd compared to bullet cd with pistol mastery.
I wanted to change my cleanse mantra for SoD. I miss the stun so bad.
Updated build. Also using mental torment instead of HS for the damage consistency of shattering as opposed to the freaky scaling of HS.
does it trigger even if you don’t have any conditions on?
What armor is on the pic?
@ Gates, Hmm. Nice point. Dude,, I guess all mesmers here in the forums, especially the the frequent ones must be good in pvp. You guys make it sound so easy, haha. But deep inside, I just hate warriors, they do big damage, regen a lot of health, high def, stunlock you to death, It’s like a GM in disguise but only using 50% of his powers.
@Pyro
Hurts but I guess you are right. The stun lock always gets me, if I use stun breakers for utils, i end up lose my dazes on my utils, so evading would be the best way?

I’ll pm it to you. Do you ever get the feeling that there are times when we are underpowered? Just sometimes.
Today has been the most frustating PvP matches I had,.
How exactly do you beat a team with 3-4 ham/x warriors on them? They contained points the whole time. Stunlocked the beejeezus out of us. The Stunlock was only the the icing, I run a full glass cannon build and there was an instance that 2 mesmers were attacking a single warrior and the damage mitigation was unreal.
I see a lot of immune signs, 0 damages and by the time enudre pain was gone, warrior was back almost a full hp. Healing signet was crazy.
This is not a whine/nerf thread. But how do we win a situation like that? I know PvP is a team effort but the team effort was irrelevant at that time.
It seems to me that it was a level-gap kinda scenario for me and my team for numerous maps. I was also barely doing damage.
I run an lockdown build too, i remove stability via disenchanter/arcane thievery, but before you know it, after 1-2 interrupts it was back up again.
*Also, alot of you guys have owned warriors(signet/hambow/ham/x) in the past, but when skilled also players also play it i feel it is close to impossible to win.
A team with alot of warriors combined with guardians is a tough tough fight for me. Honestly I play hotjoin/xPvP everyday, and this was the most frustrating to win. I do get top stats for my team tho, but meh..
So…What tips can you share? and what are the odds of winning?
PS: Please give advice that is close to reality, everything sounds good on paper but it is hard to apply on the fly.
Thank you very much.
^you have a very nice id. hahaha
^If a change could be done to wastrel’s punishment, then you might think otherwise.
Why do you even bother get affected what other people say? I mean common. Its just a game.
@chaos,
do 2 sigils of paralyzation stack?
@scam
They should change the cripple on CI..
I don’t get the logic for it if the enemy is already immobilized. If the cripple procs after the immobilize then it will be better. But i’d rather change the cripple into a diffrent mechanic or condition.
Which one is pyro on the mesmer pvp vid? haha. i mean which voice is he?
More punishment.. Maybe cc conditions like chill. Or a more options on interrupt builds.
Just improve some of the traits that we have right now like dom 25 and dueling 25. Both are GM minor traits but they feel a bit lackluster.
This isn’t a weapon but how about a chaos armor signet? haha.
Hey… I do not know where to post this but the mesmer forum is like a very good community for me so you guy’s are the only ones I feel comfortable to ask. This is off topic.
Any of you guys know how to convert Mp3 to flac?
Configuring a converter is hard. And I can’t find any links for a tutorial.
So you use your pinky when using skills? haha tried it feels hard..
I agree that this is not a lockdown build per se..
Dazes and Interrupts are part of a mesmer mechanic meaning any build can utilize them.
If you want a lockdown build.. You can build around the traits and utilizing other factors as a form of control (i.e. conditions, chill on sigils or runes, the on death traits, etc.)
Honestly To really build a really really good lockdown build, we only can wait. Its how the traits are designed by anet that makes it difficult,. check dom 25.
We also lack AoE interrupts most of them forces you into a specific weapon set, and Imbued Diversion sits so deep in the illusions line.,
I almost feel that lockdown is only good for 1v1 1v2 at the max.
PS: You might want to change the sigils of paralyzation, you can maximize it if you have Dom XII, 15% in reality, you wont notice the difference with or w/o it. SO you have an extra option for sigils.
@Dekk
Im not a tester but I can test it for you not for BotM though,. just imporvements/suggestion purposes.
I only play interrupt/lockdown mesmer nothing else
^so you’re saying it has to be user friendly?
Exactly, the build will not be affected by deducting a little bit of stat points. most impt part is the condition duration.
@Menace
Amen to that.
You know what, for me daze seems to proc the most in terms of being constant. Might be different for others.
1.) In my experience its all random. In my interrupt build when i put CS, not everyone gets interrupted the same time.
Build Name: Phantasmic Interruptions
Originator name: Sticker Happy
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Phantasmic-Interruptions-Phantasm-Lockdown/first#post3349368
sigil is stun not daze, tried mesmer it does stack, but too short for you to notice.
I think Chaos has a point..
Menace has also said it himself. I also do think that the skill required to be able to play a certain build will be a huge factor. I hope it won’t deter others from testing/playing it.
Let’s face it, aside from people who really have passion for the mesmer class,. Others when they get used to a lower skill cap build they won’t even bother playing/testing the higher one.
I hope everyone finds the time to play all the nominated builds. Not just try, or play one time and if People don’t have the feel for it, they won’t play it. Its not about the effing gems. haha
I have a suggestion
Those builds who are centered on interrupt make the testers who are good in that area. Ex: Chaos, scam.
Those builds that are PU centered are to be tested by the people who are good at that to ensure the max effectiveness.
And for the gems.. give everyone who are nominated prizes, so that we could minimize losses, As scam was saying most folks gravitate toward the easier builds. Builds with higher skill caps would still be in a fair situation if that was case was to happen.
Thank you scam,, i feel so honored
Even though my build posts have a 1-2 day lifespan, after I respond no one responds anymore

oh look another 20/20/30 build with a new name. its been the 10th?
Nothing personal, so sorry, don’t want to read any further. I’m somehow tired of this setup.
Dude, that’s straight ignorant.
Why would you judge a build based off the trait spread without actually looking into the spec? Hell, why judge anything on the surface when you have no knowledge of it’s contents?
This build is literally nothing like Blackwater, and if anything it proves that not all 20/20/30 builds have to be the same. Hell, there’s not even any trace of stealth in the build.
@StickerHappy: You should enter the build into the BoTM dude, it looks really interesting and very solid.
I like how all three of your Chaos traits are defensive/lockdown-oriented, yet you still manage to add some damage/control from Domination. I’m starting to feel like 20 Dom/30 Chaos is a strong core setup for a control build and this build furthers that theory.
.. Though, could you explain the gear choice? I saw that and went cross-eyed.
Thanks..
Oh the gear? I only used celestial because of the higher crit percentage it gave than berserker. I was waiting for gw2skills to update before i settled. the 10% condition damage increase from chaos 25 wasnt there and used celestial to see how it would look like.
But you know what? I miss CS. haha
Looks good! CI is amazing trait with some +condi duration.
Have you thought of dropping Duelist’s Discipline for Phantasmal Fury? It’s quite a damage boost.
I heard somewhere Alissah mentioned that it only affected 1 phantasm?
@pyro
Do Consecutive hits really increase the burn duration? I tested it in pvp and somehow all it does is reset the burn timer. Maybe its just me.
What’s with the negativity blustein? Atleast Im not posting any PU builds which a lot of people are using. Not a majority of people use interrupt builds.
so one single enemy hits you for that 4 secs… how do you calculate the burning then? so every attack adds to initial duration of the first blocked attack?
Above is Final Build
After Losing miserably to pyro’s overpowered Phantasm Build the other day, i was inspired to make a Phantasm build. AT the same time I am so in love the concept of interrupts so here’s what i came up:
100% condition duration for the immobilize and bleeds,
I call it the HappySckamow build (He helped refine the original build)
GS is suited better for CI for gs #5
Switched pistol for sword because CI scales better with AOE daze.
Phantasms for GS and Sword are also better IMO because they are hard hitters compared to the Pistol one.
I also tried using Sigil of Nullification recently, I couldnt say it was great due to the fact that it procs even when the foe has no boons on them.
(edited by StickerHappy.8052)
@Valarauka
Wow! Thank you so much.
IMO, they serve entirely different roles.
Comparing just the Phantasms:
- Duelist: Hits kitten single targets, works well against Aegis due to multi-hits, can trigger combo fields rather well. Virtually 0 multi-target potential outside of people running into the line of fire.
- Berserker: Hits ok-ish on groups of targets, especially larger ones (up to 20 hits). Triggers combo fields, but with whirl finishers, meaning you again need groups to hit with it. Cripples, which can be good against single targets.
If comparing entire weapons, a lot more goes into it. Trick Shot is an amazing ability for roaming.
OTOH, the Greatsword is really good around group fights because it gives out Might, rips boons (as does the sword but the clones need to get close, and they never do :P ) and can shove people off ledges.So really, you’re not comparing things directly here. Carry both, and equip according to situation.
Trick shot?
The only people i know are from OMFG haha
@Pyro
you’re talking about the capacitor right?
I was wishing just to get the mist ingredient to make an ascended backpiece . The vial condensed mist essence was the name i think.
you only need 1 right?
I am working my way for my ascended backpiece but the thing is i dont do fractals.. anyone can help?
is the mist hard to get?
