You first have to explain to Ross Biddle that you have to win while also having a tpvp viable build, then maybe he’d understand.
Or you could bother reading the OP and realize that it has nothing to do with tPvP.
Cccccccombo Breaker!
And look at the bright side – if you do get an infraction of moderator notice about this post, that means moderators are looking at the Mesmer forums!
That’s not a good thing really, just a thing. Mods are mods, not devs. They don’t have any relation.
I know they are not related but i gotta ask, where do they base your infractions from? (i.e. bumping a bug thread)
Hopefully they’ll notice
^do you love your mesmer?
Amidst all these. I am so in love with my mesmer. <3
^thieves should be fast right? Mobile i mean. How can you steal if youre slow? Useless comparison bro. Warriors be mad.
Mats to craft chaos of lyssa. Just for the vision crystal
I really suggest you google for a guide on how to craft this, or Wings of Dwayna (which has a similar recipe). Basically all the materials are purchasable, either on the TP or from merchants. The Vision Crystal is an exception, but you can google how to build one as well. The mats drop all over the place.
I googled it so does it mean thAt you have to have 500 on all disciplines to craft it?
Thanks guys. Found it. Too bad it does not go with the short hair. I love my short hair !!!(

So what does gold have to do with it? If i cant buy them on the TP?
Farm pve = farm dungeons. If you’re efficient, it’s one of the best gold per time investment in the game. Unlike things like Boss Blitz, it’s there to stay.
Don’t farm for mats. Farm gold, buy mats.
But but but. some mats are account bound right?
It looks like a standard shatter build with different gear. hmm. lemme see.
This is a really dumb question but I’m posting here because I know the mesmer community more.
So, I was pvping then I saw a female mesmer with a flower hairclip on her hair, so I went on researching what it was. So then I found out it was a head option. Then I tried creating a new character and I can’t seem to find it on the head options.
Anyone know how to get it? Also does it only go with the long hair? I love my mesmer’s short hair and do not wear headgears, that is the reason I want the hairclip! :p help!
Easiest way to get mats is to focus on the Leatherworking ones (since the leather ascended materials are way cheaper than the other ones). Get your Leatherworking to 500, and farm PvE, salvage all your greens and blues, and you’ll start accumulating materials. Honestly to get 15 you’ll probably have to buy the raw materials on the TP, but they’re cheap anyway (or you can just outright buy the ascended materials— Elonian Leather is only 2 gp a piece, so you can get everything for 30 gp). Everything else you buy from merchants I think, so it’s just a matter of getting the money (icy runestones aren’t cheap).
Fractal builds are the same as dungeon builds— see my sig below (or the sticky at the top of the forum).
The leatherworking part, can you explain it more? Also, i dont get the15 part. Sorry im new to these stuff.
Umm.. Where exactly do i go when you say farm pve? :p
as the title suggests, i barely pve. But recently I got a chaos of lyssa recipe and was wondering how do i get the mats for it?
That’s for the stock one.
And if ever wanted to infuse it, what’s a good fractal build?
Is there any way to change the email address associated with an account?
hmm. okay. so If i were to build A phantasm based build, what number in power do i stop so I could invest it on other stats? I mean like what range does the diminishing returns start?
Certainly as someone who only plays PvE and primarily pugs dungeons, I’d say mesmer is extremely strong and needs nerfs if anything. As someone who does sPvP or WvW or whatever you might have different opinions but Anet needs to balance the class across all modes, with the current design they can’t buff the mesmer for PvP without making it broken in PvE and vice versa.
I’m honestly becoming convinced we’re not playing the same game here. Mesmer is a good pug carry classy certainly, but extremely strong and needs nerfs? What on earth are you talking about?
Since you discussed about the diminishing returns on the other thread, Is there any diminishing returns for our phantasms too? Is it the same formula? I mean the diminishing returns for yourself?
I know its late but can you pls add me and scams build? https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Phantasmic-Interruptions-Phantasm-Lockdown/first thank you
What has happened, happened. But the real question now is when are the “real” bugs going to be addressed?
It would be a miracle if they’ll respond.
First pyro then you!! Whaaaaat!? This is really sad. I hope calliope is staying. I know the state of the game is just…reptitive and dull but you guys are my reason for playing. Anyway, i enjoyed the ride with you chaos hopefully when i email you, you do reply!
Ive been working with skcamow lately and i was hoping to share a new lockdown build with you!

I miss you pyro
I want to move worlds, I am currently playing on GoM. I wanted to join pyro and the others before but he is not playing anymore, anyone on a guild on a different world willing to show some love? :p
Our pets may could give us buffs of other classes.
Like if you have a Wind Rider, that could do mesmerish things of your choice, a bear goes warrior, but raven helps you make a thief move. Some special diversity
One is sure, I don’t want them to steal my dmg…
Your ideas made me soo excited inside… but will it ever happen?
Hi everyone. Aspiring to be decent pvp ranger here. I have a silly beginner’s question: Does Malicious Training actually work? I was trying out extra chill duration with arctic wolves, owls, and even Lynx, but none of them seemed to have a longer duration on practice dummies in PVP lobby. Is it still worth it to invest into this trait then?
Of course, for 2 points in marksmanship its worth it but depends on the build. BTW, tooltip is wrong does not change even with Malicious Training but it does work :p
I think sources are a priority foremost because even you have a high duration but with only limited sources for it, it will get cleansed leaving you with limited options to re apply it
The best chill output I’ve found per duration is just going all in on chill. Axe/Dagger and Sword Torch, Sigils of Ice and Hydromancy, with Grenth Runes and 4 in Marksmanship (also, Malicious Training and an Owl).
That hits 50% duration (no, I didn’t calculate for food, somebody else that WvWs more can do that) which turns all of the 2s chills to 3s, meaning than on any given weapon swap, with sigils alone, you have 6/9 (2/3) chill uptime.
Axe now has kitten of chill, healing skills also do and AoE kitten chill, and an unlucky person is going to hit you and get kitten of chill. Oh, and the double hit of the owls F2 with Malicious Training should be 9 seconds of chill.
So, lots of chill lol.
But even with near permanent chill or a good uptime of chill and constant applications, will you do enough damage compared to your opponents? In a pvp setting its one thing to keep your foe chilled all the time to drag them down, but you’re still not too helpful of a player if you do no damage. How would you suggest we can still be effective? I’ve tried this kind of full chill build and I didn’t find myself as useful as other ranger builds
This is exactly how I am feeling, chill is a good concept but for PvP (IMO), it is hard to utilize since you will get focused on and given the fact that the space on PvP to fight on is pretty small. I most often get wrecked, yeah I chill-lock them but I cant do enough to kill them.
I’ve been talking to other 2 rangers to theorycraft with the chill concept and hopefully we get something that will prove really viable. I tried the concept of chill and interrupts on my mesmer ( I main lockdown mes btw) and interrupts were abundant but the chill application is not so I decided to try other classes.
Its self contradicting, id rather have torment on interrupt, or refresh phantasm attack rates on interrupt
Whatever happened to you pyro? Havent seen you in a long time?
Got tired of playing a game where the only class I play is broken and neglected. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing dragon nest.
What server are you on?
And ign ill add you

@jc
The chill bm build you mentioned, is it the same one you posted on the chill ranger thread?
Op, its II on marksmanship
But immo is a condition, so stun breakers wont work.
Off topic question.
Im new to the ranger class but, why do rangers fight amongst themselves here in the forums?
Thief is f’ed up. I tried fighting them with shatter but got the same results as you said. That’s most of the time too. You’re not alone bro.
i would give you some advice but I’m an average mesmer.
I find Mantra of Distraction (bec its instant) really helpful with CI, when they attack you up close, a well timed interrupt roots them into place, dazes them so they can’t use skills and giving you an opportunity to burst them. (this is coming from a lockdown perspective btw.)
But overall it will be a very hard fight. the s/d variant especially.
Very interesting ideas, make me wanna comeback to a power based interrupt build.
@Jurica
Its not overkill because we only have a few sources of chill and they are RNG.
IMO, the best heal to use with the grenth runes is the mantra heal but its very tricky to use.
Mantra heal with trait lets you proc Grenth no.6 4 times, 1 at the activation and 3 on cast. Pair it up with blink and you have a snare utility on your hands. But, it is unfortunately your heal too.
But the upside of mantra heal regarding the rune over other heals is that it has the same ICD as the rune, and best part of it, once the mantra is ready, the rune proc is insta cast, other heals proc the rune right after the channel i.e ether feast.

@scam
April 15 patch notes has em
Ps. Same as nullification. Only procs when foe has a boon.
I think those sigils are already fixed. They only proc when you have a condition.
^what is this frostspotter?
warrior jd posted a good build, just change dwayna runes to remove the overstacking regens. The shout regen is more than enough.
^how about cleanses? For BM ranger I mean.
Fortifying bond lets you share whatever boon you have to your pet.
So.. what does vigor do to our pet? I don’t think I’m missing some hidden effect here right?
Good to see you here Curunen! haha. Like you, I just tried ranger after taking a break from my mes
How does it really work?
Moment of Clarity gives me 150% more damage on next attack, My regular maul hits for 2k, so it would mean after interrupts, i would get 4k+ right? Most of the time It does not get that high. Same for the pet attacks
Same for signet of the Hunt
My bird does 2k x2 for f2 on light armored targets, I use signet of the hunt, almost same range as without activating it.
Gs#5 too. barely notice any difference unless the next pet attack crits.
Is it just me?
But.. just imagine, a trait tree for our pets,. just wow.
I dont know if this would be OP or feasible but.
I think our pets should also have their mini trait trees like in WoW.
More customization for builds.
And will help make pets more viable.
whatya guys think?
