I am glad that I bought mine when I did for 34g.
That being said I think that it is one of the coolest shield skins in the game…too bad I don’t have alot of uses for shields
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I have noticed the FPS drop as well. I am going to guess that for some it could be that there are many many more miniatures on screen which would affect FPS, again that is just a guess.
Hope it is resolved since with megaservers I get about 15-20 fps with my rig.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Q: What makes a skilled gw2 player?
A: According to Anet the amount of gemstore items purchased via Mastercard
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
While I agree that clipping is nothing new with Anet.
I am frustrated that I don’t show my ascended quiver because it clips so badly.
I think that GW2 has far worse clipping issues that GW1, although that might be because of the races.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
For many people there is only challenging content left that keeps them interested in the game.
I have 10k AP and couldn’t care more if I get a single point more….AP isnt content.
I am casual but I also need something interesting to do.
Theme park style MMO’s need injections of content to keep the playerbase interested. For many LS isnt enough and as players crave a challenge, which brings most to the idea of “Elite” style dungeons.
I truly wish GW2 had more challenging content because I rarely ever log in anymore and the game has so much potential.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
@Vayne
If you are worried about the 95% then those players don’t need to do the content(see how that works?:) They have other content that they can do.
GW1 was successful because people had fun doing DoA, FoW, UW and other “Elite” missions. Was it a gear grind? No!!! It was purely cosmetic.
If GW2 were to implement a “Elite” style dungeon(s) that are fun and rewarding, it would not only give that 5% some much needed new and exciting content but also push the 95% to get better at the game then just face roll zerg or stack and smack.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I would guess that we will see Scarlet again before we see Cantha
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Mediocrity in gameplay doesn’t sell gems with me but then again I am not their target audience.
I had such high hopes for GW2 and while it is a good game it just really isn’t what I had envisioned it to be.
I loved doing the dungeons in GW1 and while most are “ok” for GW2 the only real one that is truely fun is Aetherblade path, which has terrible rewards for the effort.
GW2 will be on the backburner for me until there is significant content that is not only challenging and rewarding but fun.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I think that better enemy AI in PVE would create harder content and actually make the game play the way it was intended. No more stack and smack would be a good thing.
The game needs high risk high reward content and it needed it a very long time ago.
People want a challenge but also a good reward. GW1 did this very well with HM instanced dungeons like UW and DoA.
I just logged in after a month break and found myself doing Teq then pretty much getting bored again and started playing another game.
Maybe difficult content might be too little too late for many
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I am willing to forgive the lack of content under the assumption that their manpower is currently tied to implementing a full-scale expansion.
I am not even sure that I would buy an expansion
With the debacle that GW2 has been for the last 2 years I am afraid that Anet would ruin an expansion.
GW2 had so much potential but with the LS being what it is and the lack of any meaningful content there just isn’t really a reason to log in
GW2 is a themepark MMO and as such it needs regular injections of content. The LS for many just isn’t even close to what is needed.
I unfortunately have uninstalled the game but my hope is that there will be a content update that will give me a reason to play again.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
To me collecting isn’t content.
Email me when there is new and exciting content to play and then I will log in.
Mike? Do you realize what “Theme Park” style MMO’s are? The LS isn’t enough to satiate your playerbase
Hopefully you guys can figure out what made GW1 popular and transfer some of those ideas into this incarnation. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
GL Anet, you guys need it
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
GW2 has regressed from exploration, discovery and fun to achievement points and collecting.
#uninstall.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
The game itself before the patch was “dumbed down”.
Stack and smack and zerging are still the order of the day.
Wait for the November patch? For what!!!! 30 min of content followed by the same meta events and dungeons!
Personally I think that the game needs :
1. Better AI. No more stack and smack.
2. An expansion…..give me something to friggen do!!! Does Anet realize what the definition of theme park gaming is???
3. A challenge. How about some high risk/high reward content.
4. Less gemstore focus overall. I understand you want to make money but the gemstore feels like Herb Tarlek trying to sell me something.
Those are just off the top of my head. I guess I will check back in 3 friggen months to see if there is a viable reason to login.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
They have made the end game content easier to access (gemstore) by placing more buy gold or buy gems icons in the UI
There is unfortunately not much that Anet can do to make the game interesting anymore. Hell I won’t even buy an expansion now. Too bad they killed a once great IP.
GL people still playing the game, pretty soon you can let your pet turtle play while you go make a hot pocket
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I agree we really need something worth doing. It has been 2 years
I usually(if I am bored) log in and do teq, salvage my drops and promptly log out.
Aetherblade is fun but terribly unrewarding.
We need a UW style dungeon that if we wipe, we get booted from the instance for example.
What made GW1 was the amount of high level dungeons that people could do and not get bored. UW, FoW, DoA, Urgoz, Deep, and some EoTN dungeons. We could run them as many times per day as we wanted! GW2 dungeons are timegated because they are NOT a challenge and people were getting too much gold. So, instead of making the game have high risk/ high reward content, Anet decided to be lazy and just time gate everything.
GW2 has aetherblade and maybe Arah(although it truly isn’t difficult), the cool skins that people want are either gemstore or legendary with the possible exception of the aetherblade skins.
After 2 years there is little reason to keep playing, while GW1 held my attention for 10k hours and I never got bored.
Anet needs to wake up.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
No. This “feature pack” should have been done in addition to creating new and exciting content for the userbase.
Oh look, a new way to sell my garbage greens and blues! Oh look, 20 red commanders on the map instead of 20 blue ones!!! BY BALTHAZAAR THE EXCITEMENT!
Anet has turned into a hype machine instead of being a solid deliverer of good content.
I probably won’t even bother to log in and update until there is something worth while in the game actually worth playing.
There are other games that are holding my attention and I am thinking that my faith in Anet is pretty much lost by now
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
There isnt much in the game to spend time on….
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
While I do like the sales model I don’t think that Anet should stick to their guns.
The game is currently stagnant and I couldn’t care about a weapon or armor skin in a game that has little to no challenging content. Add to that, that the skins are 99% gem store and I feel that the “gun” has blown up in your hands.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932

I REALLY doubt that GW2 will have anywhere close to the lifespan of GW1.
Players are leaving now since they are sick of the same content after the first tumultuous 2 years.
The only reason GW1 lasted that long is because of Xpacs and meaningful difficult content as well as a great story. Not zerg and stack n smack.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
The lack of significant permanent engaging content is making the game worse since it is a theme park style game.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I would play a Dragonlance MMO anyday lol TAKE MY MONEY!!!
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
To the OP DL,DR
GW2 uses a heavily modified GW1 engine.
It uses an antiquated API
It uses FXAA which is just terrible
It is uses 3 heavy threads and doesn’t use multi-core processors to their full capacity(AMD users know my meaning ).
It uses 3rd part occlusion which is pretty broken
In my opinion GW2 has one of the worst engines out there but does have fantastic art and animators
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932

intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Sure there are people happy with the state of the game currently but I am personally not one.
I am actually surprised that Anet has let the lethargy of slow creeping content that is lackluster last this long.
I really like GW2, but currently there are other games that are fresh and new. I hope that GW2 has an expansion, AI update and the elite areas that will make people play the game. Not hit the shatterers toes in under 15 minutes to get a rare….
GW2 just isnt fun anymore after 2 years
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Dear OP,
When you say “what we want” you really mean “what I want”. There is plenty of people (myself included) who enjoy the game greatly in it’s current state. You want endgame and you play casual mmo? You know that old robot saying?
Does not compute.
People need to understand that endgame doesn’t have to be a gear grind like WoW, but rather a cosmetic and aesthetic reward. GW1 did this very well and had engaging end game, elite level dungeons.
Even casuals get bored hitting the Shatterer’s toes for 2 blues and a green after 2 years….
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Do you guys think that there’s a middle ground between ultra hard and easy?
For example, I think we could clean up some of the issues with the Shatterer and just make it a more engaging experience. So rather than spending the entire fight hiding under his right paw he could, say, turn his head and attack that area? :] It doesn’t have to be hard, just a little more involved.
We tried to put in a few changes here and there when we added the new world boss timers. Reactions varied.
There is NOTHING ultra hard in GW2, especially world meta events.
Increasing the level of involvement should have been done 2 years ago, but yet we still have to hit toes for loot.
Please tell me why a large dragon minion doesn’t move around? Does he have a deathwish and lands on the ground infront of a giant zerg because he is unhappy with his long distance plan and wants to end it all?
At least teq will fly off and move a little bit. I won’t even do shatterer anymore since it is beyond boring and I couldn’t care about 2 blues, a green and some grumblecakes anyways
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
People really forget that the dungeons in GW1 were all cosmetic as well and had signature skins for each one.
GW2 takes those and places them in the gemstore instead of actually attempting to get them ingame.
There is little reason to log on now.
Full Asc Warrior(little reason to play anything else) with Legendary wep. Teq and Aetherblade are really the only 2 things that I tend to log in for. I have a precursor and 2/3 of the mats for another leg and I just don’t really care if I complete it or not.
GW2 needs an expansion very soon or I fear that many will just start giving up, like I am
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Like many others have stated we definitely need more high risk/high reward content.
Aetherblade path is, in my opinion the only real dungeon that caters to this idea. I loved the variety of dungeons in GW1 and that is what kept me playing for 10k hours over all those years. I just can’t see myself playing the same world events and dungeons in GW2 if they remain not only the same but rather easy.
Theme park MMO’s need content injections but the LS just isn’t enough.
I hope that there will be an expansion soon since I am finding there is little reason to login.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Theme park style games require constant updates or players will quickly get bored. While I think it was the intention that the LS would quell this boredom it seems lacking. We desperately either need an expansion or an update like Sorrows Furnace. Feature updates are nice but don’t halt the boredom that players feel from doing the same events and dungeons. We need something new. Dry top isn’t enough to be honest and while I like the new zone, it just isn’t enough
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932

intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
No.
Stack and Smack and Zerging are the only flavors over the last two years.
It will never change unless meaningful mechanics are altered in the game.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Asking people for kickstarter money so Anet will get off of their butts and put meaningful content into the game shows how badly we need an expansion.
So, you answer from me is B. Never, ever, ever will I give them more money unless it is an expansion.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932

While it would add more diversity, I can almost certainly say that it will never happen.
Too bad I always liked games that added rings etc to the character model.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I don’t think that it is that bad but people need to consider that perhaps these blades are using different material, especially the legendary’s!
I kinda like their stance actually and I hope they don’t change it
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
I think the problem for most people comes down to choice. In a theme park MMO you NEED to have more choice. GW1 had Sorrows Furnace, UW, FoW, DoA, Deep, Urgoz, And most of the EoTN dungeons in HM were challenging content.
In GW2 I have Teq, Wurm, which are open world. Aetherblade path can be considered a challenge but to date I have only heard of one person that I know getting a drop. Fractals doesnt really count, although that was probably Anets intention.
Raiding & endgame content doesn’t have to be gear grind but cosmetic. Anet needs to tone down some of the greed from the gemstore and put items in the game that can be acquired through high risk/high reward content.
This issue has plagued the game since it’s inception. Most people would say a full set of Arah armor and weps is considered high risk but with dungeon runners and soloers it fails.
Anet needs to change game mechanics so every dungeon isnt stack n smack, they also need to improve the atrocious monster AI to make the game more of a challenge.
Wooden Potatoes had a great video about the lack of high risk high reward content but I cant seem to find it
At the end of the day there is little reason to log in anymore. Do Teq, maybe a few dungeons and call it a day.
After 2 years, this themepark desperately needs new rides
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Every backpiece in GW2 N/A version and these Chinese ones are hideous.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
But Vayne isn’t asking for a dev. He’s asking for an “official” voice to pop in the the popular complaint threads and reassure the players that their voice is being listened too. No promises, no interruption in developer’s time, just someone to acknowledge we aren’t just typing at each other.
Sadly, I think that we are just typing at eachother
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
OP you will not get that, instead enjoy the shallow achievement driven LS
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
At least it would give some people something to do. It would also make people with Ascended armor angry, unless that was a type of “precursor”.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Raiding doesn’t have to be a gear treadmill. Make it cosmetic(aka like gw1). New skins, new armor can be obtained from raiding.
GW2 is a themepark style game, when you have ridden all the rides, you don’t want to renew your seasons pass.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
So there’s endgame, it just doesn’t happen to be your typical World of Warcraft raiding scenario, which by the way, not everyone happens to enjoy.
But some do. The other items you bolded are, after two years, getting stale for most people. Living story is a two hour event with a laundry list of pointless achievements.
We need more events like Teq and Wurm.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
This game needs way way more endgame content. After 2 years, I just log in, do teq maybe a few dungeons and log out.
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
