I don’t dislike the LS structure I just disliked the content it delivered.
If we could get meaningful content and not zerg x for loots or checklist achievements then I think most people would be happy.(*not all of the LS was bad imo)
I think pretty much everyone agrees it is time for new content, the delivery system is just a means to an end.
I think it is frustration. Instead of an expansion people were given what many feel was a lackluster LS experience.
The GW1 model was successful and is the reason we are all posting on this forum. GW2 should have followed the same model and could have experienced the same success.
I absolutely wouldn’t pay $15 for the LS content but I would pay $40+ for a boxed expansion.
They jump maps to get more members in, which is understandable.
My question is does the megaserver system make it easier for random groups to do teq and wurm? Probably not. I have not been able to pug a teq since the patch. Pre patch my home server would do it daily with 0 issues.
It just doesn’t seem worth the pain of waiting an hour to hopefully join server that is organised.
Ah well, if you do it daily then gz and I hope you get all the loots
GW2 has cookie cutter daily requirements.
GW2 has cookie cutter content(zerg x mob for loot) Stack x dungeon for stack n smack.

I would take a sub system if it meant more dungeons, more zones, more classes, more …game.
After 2 years of blatant stagnation people have a right to ask “what happened”.
I go early usually then they jump maps and I end up not being able to get in.
I just log off after about 5 minutes of attempting to join a server.
It isn’t TTS’s fault at all and they are fantastic to play with, it is the crappy megaserver system.
Pretty much given up since those are the only things that I find fun after 2 years.
There is not alot left to do in the game besides Teq and Wurm.
I joined TTS and even then it is almost impossible to get into a hosted server to do the events.
I find myself trying to get in and then giving up.
I have downloaded another MMO to occupy myself until new content(not rehashed stuff) is released.
It is too bad really because I like GW2 but when you can’t get into a server that can accomplish the raids there really isn’t too much of a reason to log in.
The other MMO I downloaded is good(it starts with a T ) but still isn’t the same.
Hopefully Anet can read the metrics(since they do that instead of listening to the community) and figure out that people are not bothering to log in as much

Bazaar of the rehashed content isn’t what alot of people are looking for.
Expect the same cheesy storylines and zerg style gameplay with the checklist achievements for LS S2.
Expect gemstore to reflect whatever wrapping the content currently is or filled with nostalgia GW1.

Am I the only one who would kill to see this in Guild Wars 2 aswell? My question is, would it actually work, as it did in Guild Wars 1? What would the pros/cons be? Would it work with the class setups, with the dodge system etc? Or would it be as with any other dungeon – a faceroll. ?
I ran duo UW runs for people that were either too lazy or coudn’t do it themselves. I made 1.2k ectos doing that in a few months. >Might of been more, not sure.
Anyhow, I don’t see us getting anything of the level of UW or FOW. The first time I stepped into UW I was one shotted, I stepped in on my first character a Ranger. No idea what to expect.
I can’t see any form of UW/FOW being implemented in a respectful matter of what it were in GW1. It would just be a “harder” dungeon with a daily reward and in a few weeks there would be a optimal tactic out online. And because of the Gems>gold/Gold>gems. There would be no meaningful reward. GW2 is a pure themepark MMO with no room for anything but strict systems and DR. It’s the sad truth and why I have not played for a month.
I played for about two weeks after the feature pack, went from 60 gold to 300. But the boring routine of doing the same dungeons over and over, and the world bosses got old pretty quick.
I just don’t see any kind of content being fun and rewarding enough like it were in GW1. If it gives too much rewards it will be nerfed and result in people doing something else.
The Auction House is the cause of this IMO. You can’t have rewarding content because the items will simply be cheap. Because of the global auction house.
In GW1 I was aiming to buy the Polar bear. I managed to buy a Identified one for my ectos. It was way more rewarding for me than getting my two legendaries in GW2.
It doesnt matter what pc you have unless you turn everything down to minimum you will never get good frames.
The game has content written for it that the antiquated engine cannot handle.
UW/FoW= when the party dies, you exit the zone.

Lvl 90 baddies and a lvl 100 boss would be nice with interesting mechanics.
Eternal gear, obby blades and chaos axes that are rare and need to be acquired from playing and NOT in the gemstore.
I would even welcome Obsidian armor that is NOT in the gemstore.
There is nothing left to do in GW2 except Teq and Wurms and even that is different content than elite dungeons.
Make me change my bar in the dungeon, make me think for the love of balthazaar about the dungeon and not just stack n smack!
I can’t imagine myself continuing to play GW2 without some sort of high risk, high reward content that is fun and engaging.
Fractals is NOT that content and zerg is the antithesis of that content.
While I agree that RNG is RNG the odds just simply need to get better.
When you do tons of Taco and Wurmie runs and never get a drop you get bored pretty quick.
There isnt much else to do in GW2 after almost 2 years but those two bosses.
Temporary content that was LS 1, rehashed in with a new wrapper for LS2 will not bring me back to spend gems.
I would rather wait a year or more for engaging permanent content than the drivel that was Scarlet and LS 1.
Yes they will…because in the future, when they start seasons or events, they want to do it simultaneously allover the globe…not “EU/NA get first..China gets after 1 month” that’s both stupid and counterproductive.
What are you even beginning to talk about? Chinas syncing in with us/eu they will log in and be at the same place we are in the LS there is no S1 for china they have to just watch the centimatics and fill in the holes they wont get to fight scarlet and never will

While I admit that it is about time Anet released some content, I do not wish LS S2.
LS1 had sooo many issues that I can’t really see myself investing more time into GW2 unless we get a expansion.
I remember a white paper released by ANET (one of the game architects)- that they considered this but the overhead of implementing this was too high in large maps for all players. The white paper was presented at some big game developer code conference event on how they optimised the GW2 engine.
The amount of CPU utilisation and network traffic would be so high that this makes it technically unfeasible at this time – sorry to disappoint you. I don’t see this feature being added any time soon.
The CPU utilization and netcode as of today is the kitten poorest that I have seen in a long time.
Since GW2 is a big open themepark mmo they NEED to inject content regularly to keep us engaged.
The LS was supposed to be the content injection that we all wanted and needed to keep interested in the game.
Unfortunately, I feel ]that since this content was temporary(and mostly poorly done) that the game is lacking in things to do.
I do Teq and Wurm and some dungeons but over time this becomes stale.
GW2 NEEDS an expansion and one on the scale of Factions.
GW2 NEEDS this expansion fast and not in 2015.
I cant stand doing another year of the same boring meta events and dungeons with no purpose.
I am at the point where GW2 either has to get off the pot and give us some meaningful permanent content or I will just have to find another game.
I can only hit Shatterer’s big toe for so long before I decide to just not bother.

Which is strange since GW1 had probably the best customer service that I have seen in the gaming industry.

I love that the GW2 title “Been There Done That” applies to most of the content that players have been playing for the last 2 years.
New legendaries would be welcome but only if there is an expansion, not let make people grind the same boring dungeons and meta events for another 6 months so they can have a bow that doesn’t shoot rainbows, flowers and glitter bombs.
GW2 needs new content, and I can only hope that the elder dragon we saw is going to rear it’s ugly head soon,!

GW2 has to maintain the fact that in order to get the cosmetic endgame gear you either have to grind or pay real cash, not be skilled.
It will never happen.
I am in TTS and I can’t even get into sanctioned TTS servers because of random people on the map.
Why even bother.
The biggest victory in the game isn’t beating the boss but getting into a server with your guildmates. I am done trying.
I am not going to bother doing Tequatl and Wurms anymore since there is ZERO point in spamming join when it is futile.
At least before if I couldn’t get into a TTS server I could kill Teq with a BG(my home server) pug group but now, well, we all know how futile it is to bother trying.
Anet in one fell swoop DESTROYED doing any type of organized raid in the game. Thanks guys.
So if there is a bug, dont bother posting anything about it since the devs don’t have time. I will have to remember that and save myself some typing time as well
3k gold shield that is bugged on multiple characters AFTER the wardrobe patch, just awesome. GG anet this really wants me to want to invest money in cosmetic items in this game.
EotM is so much fun, I’ve been doing quite a lot lately.
It gets stale fast. EotM is a WvW Karma and champ train.
I do like when commanders deviate and decide to actually defend or kill opposing zergs though.
Frankly, they have nothing to gain from posting anything that is not in FINAL stages of implementation.
Yes. On the other hand, they have something to lose by not posting. They can lose their players – and they are losing them. I personally knwo people that left the game not because it changed in a way they didn’t like, but because communication policy alone made them think that Anet either does not care about community, or doesn’t have a clue about what they are doing, or both. And frankly, i tend to slide more and more towards that last (“both”) opinion myself.
While I absolutely agree that communication is an area of comparatively poor performance for ArenaNet (in a lot of ways), quitting the game because the devs don’t show up on the forums and go, “yeah, we know?”
That makes me think these individuals didn’t like the game much to begin with and are just using this as a convenient excuse to leave.

Districts. Remember those Anet? You had those in another game that didn’t have issues.

GW1 did instanced districts of zones and it worked, it worked very well.
Why is Anet so reluctant to look at the successes of the past and implement them into the here and now?

I’m not saying it will fail if you don’t buy gems. I’m saying that if there was no suplimental source of income (i.e. The gem store) it wouldn’t be able to to maintain it’s upkeep indefinetly. Does that mean you HAVE to buy gems? No. Does it mean that Anet is a greedy company for highlighting a suplimental source of income for the game? No. It means that Anet, like any other business, is in industry for one thing only. To make money. With this line of thought, that Anet is greedy because they are trying to make money, would mean by extension, that ANY business is greedy. Everyone from your local Mom and Pop convience store to multi million dollar corporations are greedy because they want to make money. But thats a whole other disccussion.
If you don’t like the gem store and the way it’s evolving. Don’t use it. There are plenty of others who will. And unless we can know for 100% certain the amount of money generated from gem store purchases and game purchases (input) vs. the costs and wages to keep the game running (output), there is no way to know for sure whether or not this is a “money grubbing” tactic.
Heres also something to think on. Maybe it’s not Anet that is greedy, but that those who think it’s greed motivated are just cheap?

If these were to be introduced in the gem store it would make them money. That’s the whole deal.
As far as people who want to feel they earned them through in-game activity- you can always do ANY form of in game activity to earn the gold – buy gems with said gold and boom – there you have it.

Have you tried turning off your monitor? lol seriously though this is a huge problem that will never get fixed. You should invest in some Scarlet Briar sunglasses(available from the gemstore!)

Yes, OP I do feel this way as well.
You will get many white knights telling us how gem sales are the only way Anet makes money.
What I think people forget though is that GW1 did have an online store for costumes and skill packs yet that store never made me feel like I was being nickel and dimed. I gladly spent way way more money on ALL those items but not GW2.
I was thinking the other day about the monetization of the wardrobe and dye set but didn’t think about the megaserver being a cost saving measure. Good one OP.
Lack of new permanent meaningful content as well as the Herb Tarlek in your face gemstore has made myself, and I am certain others, look for another game.
If Anet wants to get my money again they will need to start off with a less in-your-face gemstore coupled with an expansion.
GW1 did so many things right but it seems that GW2 never learned from it’s better older brother
