Hiya,
So I have cloned my Ghastly skin onto another shield and the animation doesn’t “transition” between being wielded and stowed. I also went to my original shield and noticed that the animation is bugged on it as well, it shows the wielded animation even when stowed.
Anyone else notice this?

Made my guardian (1st toon) wear PVT armor and ascended healing trinkets thinking that there would be some sort of healing support needed for dungeons….ya that was a bad idea.

Peshyy.4196 It sounds like a corrupted .dat. The repair function should fix that up for you.
Sobe I was as giddy hell when I initially saw the results lol, then I realized that my NVCpl would have went to default haha(as well as muddy looking textures).
This optimization though is another reason for GW2 to start using a modern API

Sooo I tossed it on with the same scepticism that most people have with these types of wonder updates and lo and behold, it actually did lower GPU usage!
I use supersampling and my GPU is pretty much borderline in certain places on the map with it enabled. I never use reflections at all.
I went to where the Jungle Wurm spawns since I usually get 99% usage with no reflections and I was getting about 70% usage. I was stunned. I tossed on full reflections and it was at about 97% with 60fps at 1920×1080.
I will keep playing with reflections on full and check my gpu usage but if this stays the same then I am going to have to do a little jig!
EDIT: I recant my statement lol. I realized that I didn’t have my texture filtering settings to what I had prior to installing the driver. Seems to be about the same Another bubble bursted for gw2 performance boosts

I bought this as soon as I saw it lol. The red matched my warrior perfectly I do think that it should by dyeable though, as well as ALL the weapons in the game(cummon GW1 had it!!! You can DO it anet!).

I actually got a BLC key as a DROP! the other day and I was stunned. I didn’t think that they dropped at all anymore. Opened a chest to the standard booster garbage.
I really want the Aetherized warhorn(0 on the TP) but I am not going to gamble $100 on keys to get it. When you can’t get the item ingame and you have to gamble 100s of dollars for tickets it seems that there is something wrong with ticket and scraps drop rates lol.

Pretty good list OP and I agree we need more A quality events. Yes Blackgate does do it and sometimes the overflows do as well. Just read the guide and it isnt too hard. Wurms on the other hand I don’t think is pugged on any server.

Ascended gear already does a fine job of discouraging players to invest into it. Its a 750+ gold sink for 3 prof and 9+ pieces of gear, not to mention the time it takes to obtain those 9+ visions crystals.
I’ve been playing MMO’s since DAoC over 10 years ago, and I have NEVER seen a grind as large as ascended gear, or even the legendaries in this game for that matter. It’s disgusting.
Agree 100%. I have a warrior in Full zerker, with zerker armor as well. The grind for that was almost up to par with my legendary(yes I have no life lol). Reading about the zerker nerf did get me thinking about future nerfs. I am not too worried since I will always be doing damage but what if I had made a set of celestial ascended armor? Or maybe made a set of knights for my guardian and later find out that toughness is no more?
MMOs have always had nerfs and GW2 is no exception but the point is that I always recovered by easily getting new specced gear.
Unfortunately GW2 is way way too grindy for me to respec my zerker warrior to a new, as of yet, unknown meta or anything else for that matter.

There will never be a hard trinity in GW2 and thats fine but Anet really needs to implement some mechanics that make the game interesting. Hitting Shatterer’s toes is a god aweful event but I like Tequatl. They need to make dungeon, world meta and even regular baddies have better ai and mechanics.

I think the OP is talking about the Teq and Wurms meta events that are not being done on certain servers.
Large servers don’t do Wurm generally, although Teq is done daily. Your best bet OP is to join TTS or a similar Wurm/Teq raid guild.

I dont do arah anymore because there is no reason to. I have my full set of arah and many weapons.
I didn’t use zerker doing arah because it was before zerker was the meta. People were still learning the game.
Agreed that GW2 is very prohibitive in creating different builds, unless of course you trade gems for gold. GW1 armor was cheap and easy to get max level.

GW1 isn’t a classical trinity game, is it? While i didn’t play with the previous game it looks really engaging, even if most players still see it in rose-tinted glasses.
If you do dungeons that way you either only run CoFp1 or get carried by the group.
GW1 was a trinity game but pretty much digressed to solo perma sins near the end.
I like GW2, I really do. But for the love of god give me a reason NOT to run my zerker warrior…please. My PTV mace/shield guardian sits languishing as a crafting mule….

Lupicus is actually a fun encounter and during the first days of doing Arah most people would mindlessly tag with ranged weapons, and kite. Occasionally using a heal or condi removal.
I did enough Arah that I don’t want to do it anymore and I dont know the current meta, although I do know that people solo it. Is that the new trinity as well? Solo lupi? no need for other team members at all?

The elimination of the trinity has just caused the game to be DPS only.
This has alot to do with mechanics as well but at least the trinity had depth and teamwork not running around mindlessly tagging baddies for loot.You confuse trinity games dungeon content with GW2 open world content, so it’s a failed comparisson.
Here goes a trinity fight:
- Press buttons to apply 10/20/30/60 minute raid buffs.
- Tank goes in, generates agro with a few skills.
- DPS starts to deal damage with a few skills.
- Healer press buttons to heal tank(s) with a few skills.
- Heal DPS players if they get unavoidable damage or screw up with sidestepping from red circles.
- Done. Next boss.
It’s much more engaging, right?
No I played GW1 for 10k hours and was never once bored.
You forgot about protection, hexes, energy management, team synergy, creating builds BEFORE going in the dungeons and the serious risk of actually wiping. GW1 had 10000x more depth to the game than GW2.
GW2 Autoattack, use 100b collect crappy loot. Done. Next boss. 100 people doing the same thing.

The issue is how the charges will be obtained and this is info they have not said.
At the moment the level 80 crystals can be obtained through the gemstore, BL chests and a ~0.26% chance from doing your daily. The stones via gemstore, map complete and ~5.3% chance from daily.
I’d imagine the worst case scenario being that the charges are obtainable only in the ways you can currently obtain the crystals and for the same price. This of course would be a 3x increase in the price for <lvl80s.
If obtaining transmutes doesn’t improve with the patch i wont change looks.
Which is what a vast majority of the playerbase will do, and as such, render the entire update pretty much moot(no pun intended).

I already have maxed out bag slots on most of my alts. My current leveling guy is waiting to see if there’s a sale in the next two days … and for me to decide if I want to spend any gems before we find out what they’re doing about the town clothes. While I would like the new collection expanders and more bag slots, I don’t want to give ANet a false impression that gems are still getting spent. So long as those are permanently available, I’m darn well waiting.

I will never play a “Holy Trinity” game again. I hated waiting for a healer in GW1 and then hear the group blame them for an even failure.
I do enjoy making my own fate and taking responsibility for how an event turns out. Even soloing impossible odds.
In Fantasy how many heroes needed a a dps, and healer to make them a hero and save the day?

Everyone blames the healer, no matter what. Heck, people used healer heroes in GW1 and still blamed them when they died. Healers were always the scapegoats, whether they were really at fault or not, they just couldn’t win.
Anyways, I still think there is really good team play in this game, as I’ve benefited from traveling with a guardian on many occasions as a thief (that’s just one example).
My main was a monk, and when I kept the team alive when by all accounts we should have wiped, I was given absolute adoration.
Monks have thick skin anyways, look at the tats
Waiting for a healer was inconsequential compared to just zerg dps everything in the whole game.
GW2 lacks teamwork and synergy between classes.
It is basically a single player game with other people around you.
I still like GW2 but they really need to balance out other game specs, healing being the biggest one.
The game mechanics and balance make for DPS only, which was my fear from before beta

I am certain that is not what Anet had in mind but when you have to pay the exorbitant amount of money to transmute there is very little alternative.

The top priority fixes most definitely is the Eternity bug, tell me I’m wrong and people who sell Eternity after soulbinding Twilight and Sunrise, gaining 4000-5000g and still able to use Twilight and Sunrise skins, are perfectly alright.
I do agree with you on that point. That’s a pretty serious oversight. Easily fixed by making any newly-forged Eternity account-bound on acquire.
This might actually give me an incentive to craft Eternity now

Why not let the builds be trinity? Nobody wants trinity! Nobody wants to be waiting in LFG asking for a half spec healer type compromise build any more than they want to be waiting for a full trinity healer. That is not better than the status quo and never will be better than the status quo. If nobody needs a compromise healer, like now, then nobody will ask for one and the role is redundant anyway. You can go into the dungeon as a healer if you like right now. There’s nothing to stop you if you want to play with like minded people.
If a group needs more healing, CC, condition cures, finishers, mobility, etc then they can already change utilities and weapons to do that. Trinity is dead. RIP.
While agree that noone really wants to suffer through a LFG. I personally would rather wait for a monk than suffer through DPS only content. If/When Anet decides to make CC and support more viable options than DPS only meta I will hope for a trinity

That means that if you made Twilight, you will have access to both the Twilight and Dusk skins across your entire account.
Then we get this:
In the upcoming April feature build, we will be converting all legendary and ascended equipment to be account-based. This means ascended equipment will always remain account-bound and will not soulbind to a character when equipped.
So, from what I get from this is they backtracked. No more cloned Legendary weapons or ascendeds. In order to pass them along they cannot cloned but physically passed along. It could also mean that the skins will still be cloneable but also that the originals will be account bound. Personally I believe that it is that Ascended and Legendary weapons are only going to be account bound and not cloneable. I think that this is a good thing but, of course, not everyone will agree.
Perhaps we could have some definitive clarification regarding this matter.

The problem with new content, and new land to explore is that we’d grind it out in a week, figure out that best stuff to kill, and then go back to complaining about how bored we are, and why isn’t anet expanding the game already. We don’t use up 80% of the map as it is, why should they open up more of it, just for us to ignore it after we’re done with it.
Perhaps that is one of the biggest differences between GW1 and GW2.
GW1 there was VQ(HM) Elite Skill capping, Zaishen Bounties and enough dungeons that people had a reason to go to most areas. Heck I even chest ran through the echovald forest looking for shields
GW2 has champ farming and…..dungeons….and…um ya. There isnt a reason to go to other areas of the game.
