Agreed OP.
I think it is time for a high risk/high reward dungeon besides the new TA path.
We NEED UW/FoW/DoA style large dungeons to not only keep players interested but also as a nod to GW1.
HoH would be stellar but we arn’t getting that.
GW2 needs many new high end LARGE dungeons…yep plural.
I love the maze style guild puzzle, why not more of that, and why cant part of it be random? Imagine AC with random graveling spawns

Thanks Lanky. It was such a great and unexpected addition to GW1. All in all probably the #1 best QoL patch ever created for the game. I just hope that GW2 has the ability and want to put it into the game. People would rejoice more than killing Scarlet :P

Can we expect someday a big patch with optimization of the game or will always be some little tweaks each patch?
lol I almost spat out my coffee when I read the question.
OP your answer is no. There is 0 profit in it. There is 0 way that they can do it without recoding(which has 0 profit in it).
Basically there will never be any more optimization than you currently have. Book it.

I don’t see why they can’t. I mean it was put into GW1 which, has the same engine. The only issue could be that GW1 was mostly instanced while GW2 is not. Either way, they really need to implement this ASAP as a giant QOL service.
That difference is the reason. GW1 could keep a spot for you in the instance because it was YOUR instance.
a specific overflow shard of an open world zone is shared by tons of players and is not tied directly to your account.. if you exit it(through a DC/crash for example), it doesn’t track you and it won’t recognize you when you try to rejoin the same zone.
That’s why being in a party is important for big events, the other players in your party are your anchor to that specific overflow shard.
Agreed, although Anet could implement a system that tracks your shard and gives you say 10 minutes and holds your spot since you dc/crashed. I cant really see how this would be abused.
Anyways, I championed the “disable right click targeting” movement for MONTHS and with 1000s of posts and people begging and many deleted posts it was finally put into the game…thank god.
I will keep daily bumping and pushing this thread It is something that can and should be in the game.

People, in general, are fairly lazy and crave the dopamine fix that comes from instant gratification. While some players may be mad enough to leave the game, those players are not only a minority, they also tend to be the same players who don’t buy many things with real money.
There is little to zero dopmine gratification from GW2, more like Tryptophan induced zerg gameplay. I digress though….
Stating that losing players is “ok” since they are the minority screams of a poorly devised business model.
The business decisions at ANet are becoming bolder and more morally ambiguous by the day.
Long gone are the great designers and customer support teams that MADE GW1 what it is.

The long and short of it is this, ArenaNet will continue to capitalize on convenience because that is their business model. When things are inconvenient or become inconvenient you will have the following options:
1. Pay for convenience.
2. Find a subscription-based game where convenience is what you pay for each month.
3. Adapt your play time to accommodate the inconvenience.
Which is interesting since GW1 didn’t charge a cent for convenience. I suppose that the developers of GW1 are not the same as GW2 since they are going to nickel and dime it’s playerbase into the new era of micro transaction hell.
So, instead of making the playerbase happy and content, they will enforce micro transactions until players either submit or become frustrated and uninstall.
Perhaps not the best of business strategies.

Why not make crafting hubs, Laurel vendors,TP,Bank and all other vendors of that ilk ONLY available from the gemstore?
I mean Anet doesn’t make people pay a sub and they do need a form of revenue right?
Anet is on a very slippery slope with this last one and it seems that they have been edging slowly downward.

First off, I didn’t like ESO at all and I loved all the old ES games since Daggerfall. To those that did like it, I am happy for you.
I highly doubt that Anet will release an expansion in 2014. Heck, I would even guess that it wont happen until mid 2015 if at all.
Anet likes to ride the hype train and we would have gotten a teaser video or some kind of media surge if there was an imminent release of a boxed xpac or xpac through the gemstore(most likely option).
That being said, IF they do not change the course after this season of LS then I really think that the game will start to lose people.
Players need new zones, races, classes, skills, dungeons, JP(I hate them personally) and varied permanent content in a themepark MMO in order to keep people busy.
I find myself not caring about doing the dailies, doing world bosses(except teq and wurm) since they are boring.
I find myself not even caring that much about the current LS since the story is akin to a 10 year old’s homework assignment in fantasy literature.
With a ton of new games coming out(Witcher 3, DAO:Inquisition,Thief3(I hope that is good) and many more we will ALL be tempted to play something that isn’t boring.
To those that enjoy the LS and mediocre content releases then I say great! I am glad you enjoy it, but it seems that the majority of people not only on the forums but ingame and on other forums are not enjoying it And that makes this Quaggan sad

So I had got into BG main server early(of course) to do Teq.
Event starts, I am pumped to kill this dragon.
Phase 3 starts and boom, client crash.
I know at that point I am sorry out of luck.
I would describe my fury at borderline uninstall rage coupled with shock and disbelief.
Waiting that amount of time to do a large scale meta and the client crashes…
I don’t get a client crash very often and I honestly cant remember the last time it happened. But this couldn’t have happened at a worse time
My point is that there should be a DC queue, like GW1!
You DC or crash and you have xx time to get back in. This would make the playerbase happy on so many levels.
I remember when this was implemented in GW1 and the players as a whole rejoiced and told tales of dreaded 007 err0r and how it was vanquished forever and much joy was spread throughout Tyria!
Please Anet, please.
For the sake of all that is holy.
Put this in the game.
I cant think of a reason NOT to put it in the game.

Just because some games have even worse designers doesn’t make the rng and grind in gw2 acceptable…. It just means it’s not the worst contender. Also GW2 is aimed for a us/eu audience, the audiences who least enjoy long terrible grinds.
Name one MMORPG that has better RNG and grind?
FFxiv
Or WoW which I am currently playing. The loot system is very well tuned there through years of experience, and you can expect reward for play, unlike GW2.
I dunno about WoW but GW1 had way less grind for BIS gear. The Ascended travesty goes against the principles of Anets Manifesto. In GW1 there was grind but it was purely aesthetic and not for BIS gear. GW2 is 100x worse for grind than GW1. Not to mention that the “grind” for aesthetics in GW1 was also 100x more fun.
As far as RNG goes, Time gated content and pathetic drop rates make the game less enjoyable than GW1. There is no middle ground for drops really. You have standard greens and blues, the occasional rare with 20s, the rare exotic worth 1g, then very very rarely someone gets the unbelievable luck of a exotic worth 5-100g(which I have never had in 2000 hours) followed by the impossible precursor drop worth multiple 100s(which I have only seen one drop, and that was in beta…).
GW2 is more nickel and dime for your rewards than GW1 it seems to me.
I bet this is because gold is tied to real life cash and the world TP.
GW2, grind forever with timegated content or pull out your visa

It repairs the client if there are missing or corrupted files which would be why it only needs to be done once usually.
Model ‘0×00df13’: LightningSetActionPoints: destination action point ‘fxwristl’ not found on model ‘0×082243’ indicates a missing file which could be fixed with the ~repair command line argument.
So, use the ~repair command, delete the command from the GW2.exe shortcut and try the game and see how it goes.

I have never really been a fan of crafting to be honest but at least GW2 gives alternate ways of acquiring the gear. The problem is that since ascended gear release I haven’t gotten a drop that is even remotely useful, so you’re pretty much forced to craft.

The idea behind a Legendary weapon is that it is supposed to be somewhat completionist. With the introduction of achievement chests, 500 badges of honor is easy to get without getting into WvW, and WvW is a big part of the game.
It’s supposed to be a ‘show-off’ that you’ve played most of the core content, and played long enough to be ‘worthy’ of a Legendary.
Pretty much this. I’ve had my Sunrise for a few weeks now, but I had my gift of mastery back before the first halloween event. I’m glad that there’s a bit more that’s required to get a legendary now. People were complaining that a legendary is just a giant money fest, doesn’t take much but just getting lucky. Now there’s a bit more involved. Rank 30 is honestly not hard at all, even if you don’t like WvW. It’d probably take you a week or two of spending an hour a day in a karma train to get it, probably sooner depending on the server.
I have 0 intention of crafting any more legendary weapons now. I can’t stand WvW. Why not make people R10000 in PVP as well while we are at it, and make people pay 5000 gems for a legendary crafting item from the gem store
