i’m pretty sure all back items disappear when you have a shield stowed.

I honestly hope that we get a UW/FoW type dungeon with him being the protagonist involved, yet I somehow doubt that…the odds that he is forging new gemstore ideas has a higher probability
Right now expansion for me is pretty much moot. I just don’t really care about GW2 that much anymore. I just check the forums every once in a while to see what is shaking.
The LS is very uninspiring and with long long breaks in between I just don’t care that much. Honestly I cant really remember some of the characters or even what the LS is heading to.
It is really too bad since GW1 captivated my attention for 7 years and almost 10k hours of gameplay. GW2 has had since beta and only 1.3k hours
I hope that people still enjoy the game and what it offers but after two years of the same stuff it has gotten very very stagnant.
GW2 really needed an expansion released about 6 months ago.
I generally log in for Teq get my 2g and my shiny spoon, sell my junk and log out.
It is the way of GW2 with rewards tied into BLC RNG and LS metas.
I do like dungeons but there is little risk vs reward with the small exception of aetherblade(which has pathetic drops for the run).
Now the goal is just to alleviate boredom with a 20 min teq run and get back to my other games which currently hold my interest.
At this point in time, after two years it just doesn’t seem to matter anymore.

Themepark MMO’s all need to have content injections, it is the nature of the beast. While I think the plan from Anet was to have regular content LS updates that would satiate the playerbase, it seems that this dribble just isn’t enough for most…it certainly isn’t for me.
If the wintersday is the same as it has been for the last two years, I won’t be playing it, it is pretty pointless.
I really do hope that Anet realizes their issue with content and is making a Xpac as we speak that will be released shortly because I fear for the longevity of this game if that isn’t the case.
Anet probably makes more money off of gemstore purchases then they would off of a box sale.
For me, even if they did make an expansion it would be too little too late. Terrible AI, stack and smack, zerker and zerg, conditions, etc…these are fundamental issues that no amount of content can fix.
I would love FoW, UW, Cantha etc but I really really doubt that we will see any of it since the current Anet meta is the old LS gemstore update system with long hiatuses.
Guess that I will login do Teq when I remember GW2 and then wait till the 16th if I remember.

I have purchased Dragon Age Inquisition and Far Cry 4. Both of those games could have gone to gems or an expansion if it was available. The money is there Anet.

GW2’s 20+/- GB space has been allocated to my storage drive until an expansion or significant update(not a one hour LS) has been offered.
I concur with what Guhracie.3419 has said about becoming invested into other games. It is becoming too late for Anet to sway many people’s minds, and wallets!
At a glance all I’m seeing is the same old, same old. Maybes won’t cut it. Let’s wait and see? I waited, and I haven’t seen yet. Until there’s a lot more clarity on what exactly is going on, I don’t see any reason to hang around. Waiting. Waiting might work as a game mechanic for browser-based games – for an MMO however, not so much.
Seriously, what’s your cut off? If you guys don’t want to continue waiting, when you are going to say enough is enough? What is the absolute deadline for Anet to get back to us? Or are deadlines only applicable to Anet?
Many have been waiting for 2 years and have reached their limit. I know that I have. I really want to play GW2 but it just isn’t fun anymore.
Anet has the old saying that it is done when it is done™, so really it is pretty much useless to ask for a timeframe.

I am not really a forum warrior but it is rather apparent from the myriad of comments that there is something missing from GW2. I hope that you guys figure it out
With SOOO many new games coming out (and are already out!) that have taken my attention away it seems that GW2 needs more than a small injection of content(LS) in order to keep me and probably many others happy.
People want to races, zones, dungeons etc but we just keep getting bi-weekly updates that can usually be completed relatively quickly. Add in the gemstore items and it has become apparent over 2 years that GW2 is just going to stick with it’s monotonous plan. Come play the update and hope people buy stuff with gems. Wait 2 weeks, rinse and repeat.
It is really too bad since GW2 has a TON of potential to be the best MMO out there. After 2 years Anet, don’t you think that people are sick of the same dungeons and world events? Fighting the same servers in WvW(if people do it anymore)?
MMO themepark rule #1 is that people crave constant content injections but the LS just isn’t cutting the mustard.
Personally I hope you guys figure it out and fast because I have already invested into another game. I think that GW2 is on the 11th hour of either becoming more stagnant than it already is now or on the precipice of a big big change(maybe xpac) that could save it’s “skin”.

Glints lair was cool and the fights were fun. I enjoyed this incarnation of the LS but I agree with previous posters that it is important for us not to wait months for the next installment.
I am hoping in the culmination of a new repeatable dungeon, one can only hope
I liked the capes in Guild Wars, especially since the art and animation teams got such a fluid “flow” to the fabric. (Actually, other game designers asked how it was done, back in the day!)
I imagine there would be challenges in incorporating capes, and naturally a cape would cover some of the armor pieces, which is a drawback when you’ve worked hard to get the whole “look” going on. As mentioned, it was brought up in the CDI, so that’s good.

I also had though since Beta that combining stats with weapons and armor would limit peoples roles.

Sadly you would have to cool your CPU with liquid hydrogen and overclock it to about 7 ghz in order to get the game to run at “decent” frames in zergs.

Yes Storm perhaps your right. Maybe we should not discuss raiding at all or any other evolution of the game for that matter.
Or perhaps we should have a think about the impact that CDI has had across all aspects of the game in what can only be described as a swift manner in development terms.
So why am I taking the bait? Because it is an opportunity once again to make a few things clear. CDI is of a massive benefit to the team and community, but if you don’t believe that then you don’t have to be part of it. But please don’t bring others down because your thoughts differ from theirs.
And to be clear this is in reference to a number of folks posting in the thread and not just you.
Finally the CDI is a dev tool and if folks cannot respect that and find it difficult to be collaborative and valuable in this kind of design environment then they will have their oppurtunitu to be part of the initiative taken away from them. Of course they will still be allowed to give their opinion elsewhere on the forums but not in the CDI.
In the Design Dept. we have three golden rules:
1: Postive attitude toward problem solving is a key requisite of a great designer.
2: collaboration is king
3: Respect for others is paramount.
Hopefully it isn’t to much of a stretch therefore to see how I also believe these tenants to be true for the CDI.

To be fair Chris, people have been waiting for over 2 years for end game raiding content.
I am sure you can understand the apathy and frustration that people have from that long of a wait.
I love GW2, I really do. The problem is the lack of new and exciting content.
I am wholeheartedly looking forward to the CDI and raid content in general but currently, the game(for me and probably others) has become stagnant.
I would rather have better monster AI and mechanics rather than the same stack and smack zerg raids anyday.
I hope that in the end the CDI helps Anet form a plan that the user base will find fun and entertaining.
I think this thread is pretty good evidence that the value of skins is incredibly subjective. Sometimes a cool skin is going to be basic, gritty, realistic or plain. Other times a god’s hand come from the sky to hand you a universe tearing, light sparkling, night glowing mace that may not compel awe as much as it will force other around you to dance until the stubs of their bones beat a catchy cadence for your amusement.
It should be renamed reaper of powerful bloods since this is plainly a mat sink only.
It will just be a dungeon with 8 or 10 people instead of 5… yawn

Good link Leolas but I will reiterate that noone should expect DX11, 12 or 120 for that matter. Noone should expect any significant performance gains over the longevity of the game. Heck people running the game in 4k probably won’t ever get a GUI scalability tab.
The best part is that you should NEVER expect a response from Anet regarding anything performance wise, they just don’t seem to care.
I notice 0 framerate differences with supersampling enabled or disabled in meta events. Seriously. Character model can have an effect on fps and I generally play with those settings.
The issue is that after 2 years GW2 isn’t coded with modern hardware in mind.
ie. Megaservers for meta events where most people will get 2 fps. How is that fun?
I have a distinct feeling that the netcode for culling is causing issues but that is just a hunch.
I don’t know what Anet are thinking when they code a game for zerg play but don’t code it so that most users can enjoy it at a reasonable framerate, and 2-5 fps isn’t enjoyable.
Until Intel releases a quad core cpu that can run at a stable and consistant 6.5Ghz I can’t see zerg play in GW2 being enjoyable unless you like playing in potato mode.
I used to have a x6 1055t and the frames in normal gameplay (not zerg) were actually pretty good, albeit this was before megaservers.
If you have the cooling for the CPU you might want to consider overclocking. That Thuban can get to 4.5ghz which is not bad considering the turbo is 3.7. I know people who have OC’d that CPU to 3.8 base clock from 3.3 with stock coolers.
As you said earlier the GPU won’t really help that much and your R9 270 is more than enough for GW2.

I might not need a boss fight but you had better have a better conclusion to a story than what GW2’s was.
On a side note I really liked the fight with the eye, that was a good fight and also had some cool music.

Are you seriously defending the Zhaitan fight? SERIOUSLY!!!! If you think of drama as a book then maybe a text adventure game is more akin to your needs.
The Zhaitan fight was by far the worse and most terribly designed, anticlimactic ending to ANY game that I have ever played in 30+odd years.
Is anyone else sick of terrible framerates during large meta events?
I have a fairly decent computer and I am really finding that I am just not wanting to do large world events because of the fps.
Will Anet ever fix perhaps the netcode holding the game back? Will Anet ever make the game run at a good pace during large events?
My experience with the megaserver is different. Because I’m not really looking for crowds. But after the megaserver, even at odd hours I’d run into people everywhere, in passing. It was cool.
Ya who doesn’t like doing Karka Queen at a staggering 12fps and wearing your sunglasses because of particle effects…
GW1 dungeons like DoA, UW, FoW, and the EotN runs were what made me buy GW2 to begin with since those areas were fun.
Currently there is little to do for PVE’rs after 2 years. I login for Teq KQ and then pretty much logout.
