Definitely delusional.
They complain that the Abjured won because they stack bunker Eles. They conveniently forget that oRNG has a bunker Ele too, and a super bunker Guardian. In fact, Tage barely lost HP while Wakkey/Phantaram died constantly.
What happened was the Abjured rotated right, and make Tage vs Nos all the time, keeping one of the bunker out of loop, and cannot heal their teammates. oRNG was totally out rotated. Attempting to use the double Ele as an excuse for poor play is delusional. Remember, oRNG has an Ele and a super bunker Guardian too.

You auto-join games (instead of looking for group), you can’t be kicked, you don’t have to deal with metajerks, just capture points and fight other players.
Completing reward track twice gives you enough tokens for a Gift, a few weapons and two armor skins.I’m not talking about actual PvP vs dungeons, but about convenience for solo player.
And do you have any idea how long that can take? I lost 6 games in a row the other day, and got 3 rewards from it. Also have to deal with whispers from people calling you this and that because you are better than them with your class. People calling the team names and going afk because the first 10 seconds of the match don’t go well. People leaving mid game or before match starts because they don’t like the map.
Quite fast, actually. I discovered PvP just a week ago, now I have 1 fully completed AC reward track + 14/40 AC (then it got disabled) + 19/40 Glorious.
After 59 played games.Only got trash talk when our group fought against a premade in Courtyard, otherwise it was pretty nice. I’m in Europe, if it matters.
60 games? With 15m per game including queue time.. Actually, let’s say it takes you 10m per game (for your benefit), that means 10 hours right there. I can do a round of AC in less than an hour (sometimes less than 30m for 3 paths). That rewards at least 5g and enough tokens for you to buy exotics. You spent 10 hours to get what, one AC reward track that rewards less than 1h of PvE?
Also, the people complaining about exclusive PvP rewards should realize how much exclusive PvE reward they have. PvP people can’t even have a legendary unless they do a full map completion.

I’m from EU and it’s hilarious how some people discredit The Abjured for using eles in their comp like some mysic ritual forbid the other teams from playing with 5 eles if they wanted to. Face it – oRNG’s rotations were bad in the grand final and TA took maximum advantage of that. Do I need to remind that oRNG were using a BURN guardian throughout most of the games? Stop crying and give these guys some cheers kitten .
+1 no one forbid the EU team to play 4 Ele or 5 Ele. It’s clear with the game they they got totally outrotated. Classes or what not doesn’t help oRNG to win if they rotate like that. Ele is just an excuse people try to pull out to explain for the poor performance.

The fact that they had double ele helps A LOT to outrotate the enemy team. When a class is so mobile, while being impossible to fight 1v1 and can sustain a 1v2 on point for a while and still disengage after that, and when you have 2 of that, of course you’re gonna outrotate the opponent.
Dude, oRNG left their points unwatched all the time. They zerg around fighting +1 +2.
The rule is if you +1 for more than 15s and still can’t kill, gotta leave and check the points. That’s basic rotation for any semi-competitive team. They got lost in the zerg fights.

Also, the the complaint about Ele is getting old. Phantaram had been playing Ele when it was the bottom tier (and still won). They are just good players. oRNG played like pugs on front of the Abjured.

It definitely has less survivability too. Group support in both PvP and PvE are lacking. Tempest doesn’t provide support, it’s the warhorn that provides support. I wish we can take Warhorn without having to take Tempest.

It’s a net dps loss
Just tested. It deals less damage per second than other classes, and even worse than just normal Fireball + Lava Font.
Basically, it doesn’t offer enough to justify the 4—5s casting time, and then another 5s waiting time when you get into the attunement.

So if < a class you perceive as weak > can kill Ele, it’s because of gimmicks? And if < a class you perceive as strong > can kill Ele, it’s because of OP?
The class gets stacked because:
1) it’s fun to play
2) more importantly, because the top players has already mained it. Do you think Nos/5gauge/Toker plays Necro/Engi/Thief because those classes are OP? No. It’s because those are their main. They are top tier, and they play those classes because they enjoy it. The same for Phantaram/Wakkey. They play Ele because it’s their main. Saying they purposely stacking Ele is just confirmation bias.

If your warrior/warrior duel ends in less than 15m, at least one of the warrior is doing something wrong, or not master dueling skills yet. GS movement skills can “heal” for about 1.5k by giving downtime to the opponent DPS. There are a bunch of other tricks too.

With an equal skill signet Necro vs meta D/D ele, the Necro should win all the time.
As soon as the opponent is smart about when to interrupt/applying chill/corrupting boons, the Ele would be in trouble.
The best thing you should try to do is out rotate the Necro.

Ring of Fire apply no burning stack on cast, and only apply 3 stacks when you walk in and out of it. If the opponent gets 6 stacks, that’s a proof of a bad play. How do you even defend that bad play?

You can dodge in/out of a Ring of Fire, but not a Guardians’ ring.
Bad players die too much to a skill because of their own actions is not a good excuse to request a nerf. It’s like I request a nerf to reflection because I play power Ranger and I just want to spam skill, even when the enemy has reflection on.
So let’s nerf guardians’ reflection to cover my bad play? Similarly to Ring of Fire, reflection does no damage on it own. It only has damage when the opponent is bad. And just for reminder again, you can just dodge out of the Ring of Fire once and the entire damage will be wasted. Why do you have to walk on it?

10s or 15s doesn’t matter much for PvP since the rotation is 15s anyway and no one camps fire. Nerfing that only nerf Glass staff PvE, which does camp fire.

The only thing Burn related about Eles that needs adjusting is Ring of Fire.
- Pyromamer’s Training 33% down to 25%*
- Ring of Fire 1/4 cast duration to 1/2*
Reasoning
Fire Fields just became a tool used to prevent ‘path of direction’ – people stop in front of it or they get stuck inside because they don’t have a dodge or condi cleanse. Eles beings this tool out every 10s… you can imagine its AoE usefulness now.There’s a reason why Guardian’s Purging Flame is 2x weaker.
- Casts every 28s
- Gets easily interupted thanks to it’s 3/4 cast time.
- 28s later… people have their dodge’s and condi cleanses back up.
Other than that, Ele burns are fine.
Conditions in general are actually subpar in competitive TPvP.
It’s hard to follow your logic. Those seem to be just random nerf request. How will a Ring of Fire cast time increase help you? People get burned when they walk in and out of the Ring, not on cast. Making it cast slower, but people still walk in and out of it multiple times, is meaningless.
The cooldown reduction nerf is even weirder. The rotation takes 15 seconds. You will need to time it so you have blast in Water anyway, which is 15s. Making it 33% or 25% is the same. It only nerfs Glass Staff PvE, not PvP.

I have 2x 7950 OC crossfired. Normally I have ~90fps on 2560×1440. Today I updated the patch, and I saw two new graphics options. However, the fps has dropped to ~40fps, which is very strange. Then I checked the CrossFire setting in the CCC. It turns out with crossfire on or off, I’ll get the same fps!
Please get crossfire working again for GW2. Thank you very much

ive come to conclude that a good power ranger is better than a rampage zerker warrior in every single way. we have more survivability, our sustained damage is higher, roaming is as good, cc is better with beastly warden, and we have much more burst compared to a zerker warrior who’s not in Rampage. Rampage is also too easy to counterplay. I think other players are also starting to realize this.

This is EXACTLY what I was going for with my suggestions: moving the healing/cleanse onto weapon skills, and giving greater access to defensive utilities. Maybe this wasn’t so outwardly apparent because there were other minor tweaks included in there.
Not really. Moving healing skill to Water just makes it much easier to kill an Ele. It doesn’t help with defense. What I ask for is movements skills and boons, to actively avoid damage with good timing and positioning. Without cantrips (you try to nerf it) Ele will die instantly to any burst outside of Water. Your “balance” will not give Ele the innate defense it needs.

BlackBeard, thanks for the feedback, but it won’t work. Your “nerfs” will further push Ele into D/D and cantrips because there is no alternative. Ele will instantly die to a Mesmer/Thief burst if they pick Signets or Glyphs. It’s even worse with your “nerfs” and make people run full bunker Ele.

2) ICD on cleansing water = NO, this is the ele main trait, without which the profession is basically unplayable, an ICD would kill the profession as it’s the only source of reliable condi cleanse that ele possess
I suggested 5 icd, which could theoretically trigger 12 times in 1 minute. I would hardly call this much of a limitation.
You know what’s funny? They nerfed it to have 5s icd before, and Ele became too trashy that they had to revert it back to no cooldown.

There are two camps of people raging at the moment:
- Mesmer burst is too high, very hard to see from Stealth/Blink. I can sympathize with this camp, although I don’t fully agree with them.
- Ele burning is too high. What’s funny is that Ele Ring of Fire apply no burning on cast. You must manually walk in and out it multiple times to get 12 stacks for 3k burning. I don’t sympathize with this group.

Yup, the Tempest spec will change the landscape quite a bit. Although it’s doesn’t change the fact that multiple Ele weapon has no built in defense, which requires Ele to trait into Arcana/Water to survive. The only one with defense mechanism is Focus.
The D/D Ele dilemma: not specing into Water/Arcana? No innate defense means you die in a few shots. Spec into Water/Arcana? Decent sustain that makes people rage.
Tempest won’t change the fact that D/D Ele still have almost no built in defense mechanism.

Ele needs more innate defense on weapon skills and mechanic, while much lower defense provided by trait. Then people can leave water/arcana.
Why Thief/Mesmer can fully spec into zerker and still can be viable? Because they have innate defense mechanism like Stealth and teleport, built directly into their weapon/basic utilities without having to trait for it.

It’s just you OP. This meta is much better than the meta of bunkers/shoutbow poking each other on point. People actually die in this meta 1v2. The fast pace gameplay (and Vigor need) bring risk to random dodge and reward good timing.
I have seen a lot of people who used to only press a few buttons on their classes complain because the skip ceiling has been raised and they can’t keep up with the fast pace gameplay.
Counter point: I also see plenty of my pure WvW friends join pvp. They didn’t join PvP before because they thought PvP was just a bunch of bunkers/bruisers Cele, which was true.

To me this is more of a “how do I kill a DD ele” post than anything. Simply put, have a thief and a mesmer, or a necro. A thief/mesmer can combo to break an ele in under 10s if the thief can steal the stability off the ele and the mesmer will stack daze and burst. A necro is the best 1v1 counter to this ele build at the moment anyway.
Tbh a thief CAN 1v1 a DD ele, but it needs to be VERY smart when it bursts if it is SA and if it’s Crit strikes it needs to be very mindful of its dodges and what it’s dodging.
Otherwise I’m not entirely sure what guardian builds if any can beat an ele and such like that. So just coordinate with your ele/necro/thief/mesmer on the team or any combo of those and you’ll be fine.
A burning guard can totally win a D/D Ele if they are smart about applying condi after Water. Of course, if you see the trend, most classes need to be smart about fighting an Ele, or bring a +1. That’s why we will never see an end to players complaining about Ele until everyone play smart.
