But a lot of people I know do 16 hour sessions, sometimes… ….so divide that time by 4!
A mere 16 years!
Nice necro. I think we should wait until Marmat makes his official thread about this soon™.
How about outnumbered for X amount of time, ticks a supply drop of [use within x minutes or lose it] siege blueprints that require no supply?
Just a heads up in case you see the character GM Proheals doing any of the following:
*appearing/disappearing
*teleporting
*running really fast
*not dying
*moving players – very unlikely but I know if I don’t include it….
*changing teams (friendly to enemy at will)You should not see me doing any of the following:
*fighting back / fighting npc characters
*standing in unclaimed land
*reviving players
*using siege and supplyHere’s my toon:

Great news, thank you very much for your hard work and diligence!
I knock at least one out every day.
snickers childishly
Since it’s now recognised that EotM isn’t really WvW, can we please stop the supply from winning EotM matchups from being delivered to the (usually green) citadel, please? This simply exacerbates the problem of powerful teams dominating in a snowball effect (as do waypoints, but that’s another thread).
How about free NPC scout in each objective who spams enemy numbers in chat like in DAoC?
Should be “No longer limits on AOE effects”
This is a fun idea.
But 10 ele’s with that buff on doing metoer shower thats gone be messing up 80man blobs. But double the Aoe limit on all skills would be interesting.
How about “All non-damage effects have no limits.”
TBH I don’t like or want WvWvW.
There are plenty of people who feel that the inverse is true. They don’t want to have to do all that PvE stuff to get their legendary weapon to use in WvW. They would argue that the game would be massively improved if they got rid of PvE altogether.
I would be really interested in seeing how many people get CC’d then killed. It seems that CC is a prelude to 99% of my deaths if not all.
So, will the new stability change mean that it’s more optimal to bring another class to WvW?
Dear Arenanet,
Please could we have an improved interface for Mytic forging Superior siege?
We would like to be able to change normal siege into superior siege more than one piece at a time. At the moment, it is a chore to click all over to make them one-by-one.

P.S. Don’t be a stranger.
The size is fine, the asura it’s attached to is too big!
Dear Karl,
The WvW community would like to know how many stacks from, “Stand Your Ground” and traited Virtue of Courage, please?
Since CC is so massively important in GW2, especially with Stability being nerfed changed, please can we have CC shown on the combat log?

My Diary in WvW (I have holiday this week).
[Day 1] I think our current matchup is over 8 hours after it began. It looks like Piken will beat us and we could beat Drakkar.
[Day 2]
30 Hours in and although Drakkar gained 6,000 points via nightcapping, pulling 5,000 ahead of us, I still think that if Drakkar server does the same disappearing act as many other German servers, (not hate-speech, this is just a recognised phenomenon with servers tagged as German) i.e. weekday disappearing act, they could allow us to overtake them.
[Day 3] Brutal Morning. Logged on to find enemies trading our EB keep between each other. The afternoon and evening were ok, we held our ground more or less. Lost all our T3 stuff to Piken early morning nightcappers: 4 Omegas & 20 man escort.
[Day 4] Brutal Morning. Logged on to find Piken waypoint in our Hills. Spent hours trying to bring down siege and treb them. Piken using 5-man groups in PvP specs – we needed to group up -> 11 person team mid-afternoon. Piken countered everything. Our eventual 6 Omega, 30 person attack on our own Hills was countered when Piken brought double our numbers. Meanwhile we owned nothing on EB. Our tick was 65. In the evening we did ok but never recovered Hills. Piken held it all day, we got to the inner again with another Omega rush but they brought giant group and wiped us again. Meanwhile on EB, we held our keep (which we had managed to fully upgrade) through primetime, but lost it (and everything else) when Piken brought 10 Omegas at 00:30. At 01:00 we lost our garrison to massive blob with just rams this time.
Scores at end of Day 4: GH 78k, DL 93k, PS 139k – It seems we won’t have the opportunity to make inroads into DL’s score because Piken crush us all the time.
I can’t wait for the exciting Friday finale to this matchup… wait, what? It’s already over?
[Day 5] Ticking 40 during the day. Piken still have waypoint in our Hills and have been hitting Garrison all day. Drakkar took advantage of us all defending to capture our keep on EB – so we owned nothing whatsoever there.
[Day …] For the rest of the matchup we got completely owned, people stopped turning up, no commanders logged on. It was a complete unfun blowout.
What I learnt: Don’t WvW when matched up with Piken.

This sounds pretty good for PvP but it sounds like an overlook in PvE and a disaster for WvW.
Nobody cares about WvW.
This awful matchup system needs to go. I loathe it!
The old one was better. I’d gladly play the same servers every week if they were the RIGHT ones to be matched with.
So, after posting our opinions and experiences over and over and having had this information passed to Arenanet, what are we supposed to expect? My experience with Arenanet is mixed: They did make changes to the game sometimes, I won’t deny it, and occasionally one or two affected WvW;
- Nerf to Orbs (sadly necessary due to hackers – we miss you Orbypops
),
- Swapped quaggans for Bloodlust (not necessary, we miss you Quaggypops
),
- Breakout events (better than nothing),
- Nerf to absorb skills acting on siege projectiles (fair enough, but spoilsporty),
- Nerf to Resurrecting Lords with skills (spoilsporty).
- Matchmaking system that means mid and low tier servers get horrible unbalanced matchups (implemented because tier 1 servers complained about being matched together).
It does appear that WvW has been abandoned for fear of breaking it further. I hope something gets at least promised soon because I don’t want to lose my lovely server-community!
This is the same topic as, “Stability Changes”.
I don’t know how true this is, but I’ve read that if you use a transformation tonic while running around, a good amount of people will leave you alone as they know your’e just there for map completion.
I’m sure there will still be death, but maaaaybe not quite as much
Invader rank is enough for me to give you a chance.
+1
Not a bad idea. Most siege is hidden when on a wall anyway. This would make it so that superior siege (employed in open field blobfights) would be destroyed easily by stealthy classes. A good change.
Fair enough on the points of “PVE in a PVP Zone”.
Except it’s not a PvP zone. It’s a WvW zone.
Thanks for the update, Marmatt. It’s good to know where the communication bottleneck is.
Dear Arenanet:
THis is how to tease content.

I keep asking myself: “Why do upgrades even cost silver/gold?”
Just removing the gold cost from the upgrades would do a good bit for the economy of those that upgrade the most (scouts and defenders etc). Or might even make it some other cost, like Badges or who knows what.
This is a topic to itself. Upgrades should be much cheaper, or better yet, a WvW-only currency (could be Badges of Honor). At the moment, many people don’t/can’t do upgrades because they have no gold.
The saddest part is that when you need upgrades the most (when you are being dominated by a blob and you have no commander or coordination), nobody buys upgrades because they know the upgrades won’t last.

More NPC’s to kill…EOTM is that way ^^^^^
NPCs have a role to play in WvW. If you want GvG, play something else.

This is probably a change made in response to player feedback and advice via CDI. People stated that organised small groups should be able to beat larger less-organised groups.
Congrats on destroying an entire game mode.
Think of it as re-education. That always goes down well.
We’ll have to wait and see, but my first impression is that fights will be extremely short with people spamming as much CC as possible just to strip stability stacks.
Seems like The One Class to rule them all.
I advise everybody to pile into whatever becomes the Flavour of the Month class because fixes are implemented at such a cautious pace, often to an ineffectual degree and in most cases not at all.
Well at least it doesn’t stealth  … it doesn’t stealth, does it?
sigh The last thing we need is another way to lose control of our characters.
No one who has ever been in a real fight thinks combat is an exercise in perfect crystalline clarity and total control. A bit of panic or rage is a better representation of the activity than not having them.
Roll with it. Most CC in this game lasts 1-2 seconds.
Try WvW sometime.
sigh The last thing we need is another way to lose control of our characters.
So DPS spike classes (thief, mesmer, warrior, and some eles) prosper why classes that can’t do the massive spike as efficiently suffer.
- Zerker specs have become the norm in PvE.
- PvPers have gone with this concept, too, since some classes can’t effectively go to a hybrid, they have to be either tank or zerk (guardian, for example).
- PvPers have a place doing small ganksquads and soloing tanky builds in WvW (it’s easier than fighting other PvP builds in PvP).
- These vulture roles are perfectly valid, but IMHO the builds shouldn’t have such a dramatic effect as they do in determining whether a player lives or dies.
- I think it should be more down to the skill of the player and not their build.
Great reused skins in gw1 that were unlockable for free
I really love the dragon mask. I think a lot of GW2 skins could use some more … je ne sais quoi!
Well. The problem is that these recipes are expensive (require lot of ingredients)…
Quite. Which is why there are none of the foods on the trading post at all.
The reason there are none on the Trading Post is because for some inexplicable reason they’re account bound.
I;ve noticed a lot of this account bound stuff happening of late, I can’t understand it at all. The market must be in huge trouble. Maybe this is the Arenanet version of protectionism?
The jumping puzzle is one of very few examples of Arenanet giving us a scenario and letting us solve it whichever way we choose (WvW is another example). Most minigame content has coded rules. I prefer the freedom-to-be-creative content.

Make the outnumbered buff dynamically. Are you outnumbered 3 to 1 then every character should be as strong as three players. Als reduce the amount of supplies needed by the outnumbered team dynamically. This at least in some way equalizes it is a bit
Okay, I think we all know this can’t work – it would encourage people to tell allies to log off in order to “fudge” the population stats, discouraging the less-able members of your team and making the whole scene elitist (which, for the record, it isn’t now).
I still believe
- the spreading of a resource (it could be guards, supply, or something else) to be a good, solid concept. The more you own, the more difficult it would be to maintain it all. There is a danger this could lead to a similar effect as the above, where players tell others NOT to capture objectives. That said, I think it’s a more elegant solution to the change of circumstances based on active players at any one time.
- a much more powerful and interesting metric could be used to great effect in bringing the scores closer together. The metric would be “Who is leading at any one time”. By measuring this, Arenanet are able to implement systems to effectively slow down that team’s scoring (this would mean closer, more exciting matches come Friday), as you can no doubt imagine.
I will let you stew over these two wonderful ideas what fell out of the brains of the community and were swept under the sofa because they aren’t as simple as server merges.
These ideas don’t solve the population problem, they disguise and mitigate it. It’s still an issue, but might not mean that matches are already decided by any given Monday.

Well, I suppose it’s good to know that this is a design mistake. It’s such a pity that these recipes and foods were a complete waste of development time and effort. These would have been really good items that I would have very much liked to have made.
What? Event farmers don’t go out of their way to collect them, so there’s not as much of an excess being sold on the TP as with other items (Elder Wood for example)…therefore their entire existence is a waste of development time and it’s impossible for you to ever make anything with them? That’s a pretty huge jump in logic.
They only cost 3s each. That’s pretty cheap compared to some crafting materials. And you could always go and farm your own.
3s seems somewhat expensive, to me, considering how many are required each food.
While the OP is rather blunt in his/her tone, I can sympathise with the point he/she is making.
I believe the problem lies in some of the base-models which are used to build the newer ones.
IMHO they need to add variety to the base models, many are ugly and over-used – I’m looking at you, lollypop-staff.

I’m going to take a punt and say “meta” (whatever it is) will be zerk for every class.
Please feel free to give feedback on this report, and ideas for next weeks topic.
Cheers!
Thanks for your report.
I think it shows that there’s too many voices advocating the wrong things. It boggles my mind, for example, how better rewards will make matchups more balanced.
If you think better rewards will make WvW more fun, then that should be in a “Make WvW more fun” report, surely?
I hope they will add some siege skins to the gemstore. Btw a a robot samurai siege golem would be awesome.
Reminds me of Brazil!
Welcome to WvW, orenwolf.1953. It’s great to see such enthusiasm when so many people seem to be becoming quite jaded with the state of things. Some thoughts on your comments:
1 – I see that you can’t join Teamspeak, but perhaps you can still join a guild? There are all manner of WvW guilds from total slackers to hardcore raiders. Making friends this way helps immensely. Lots of guilds have banks full of things that are there specifically to help people like you.
4 – This can’t work, sadly, as you point out yourself, because the larger force would have an even greater advantage. They can move from camp to camp much more quickly than a small group as they kill all the guards almost instantly. Add in any towers full of supply they capture on the way and you can fill up a Keep in no time.
5 – Kraljevo.2801 is correct. This is the holy grail of WvW/RvR. While I agree with him/her that time-gating the whole scoring system would be one solution, I think there are other, less dramatic (and, admitedly, less effective) ways to soften the problem, such as stretching resources more thinly the more one side captures – making it easier for enemies to re-capture and ninja objectives.
