I like the idea of bloodlust but it isn’t working well.
The server with the biggest population will also get the bloodlust and just stomp even harder.
It is of some consolation to me that the Pikeys are spending so long queuing.
Because leagues itself are uninteresting?
We already know all winners, we already know how this is affecting population spread, we already know how most of those 7 weeks matches will be.
Please inform the less prescient among us. Spill the beans. Do tell us this predictable, inevitable results that we all supposedly know. So we have it on record.
Vince Lombardi trophy, Stanley Cup, World Series, Jules Rimet cup…
You need some sort of tradition before you can give names to your prizes or divisions – it will come. Maybe.
Let’s keep that list going? Barclays Premiership, NPower trophy, Budweiser FA Cup…
They’re named after SPONSORS, not tradition.
Now if you want The Black Lion Premier League, or Evan Nashblade Trophy or Consortium Cup then we’re on the same page!

Arena Net has stated in the past that they want things to flip frequently and that defending shouldn’t be incentivized because it’s not as fun. For the past months they have worked hard to increase the speed at which you can flip an entire map while tools for defending have been left in the dirt. It’s all according to plan.
Quote please.
Hey Piken, let’s make a deal. You leave our stuff for us to recap sometimes and then you can come and take it afterwards. Then we both get maximum WXP!
@anet, This is about what happened today when we went around in a circle for hours doing this. Not a serious suggestion.

Are there any real differences between Guardian and Warrior for Roaming?
I know that Warrior has more DPS typically, and Guardian is more supporty, but I know that builds can change all of that so I was wondering what the main differences are…
I’ll be roaming with a Thief friend so will any of the Guardian’s attributes make it better than Warrior? I know Warrior can lock down and CC well…
Thanks.
Guardian Roaming, plus 1vx fights. video is only a month old, so it’s not outdated.
This is very atypical. The guardian is very good and these enemies are extremely incompetent.
The problem is that there’s no way to slow down the karma train when the enemy outnumber you enormously.
This means their train is always going to be faster than yours and, significantly, encourages zerging.
So the solution to zerging might be to give an outnumbered side a way to, importantly, delay the zerg.

People want “3-Faction” and “3-Server” over “2-Faction” and “2-Server” because we assume 3-server would be more balanced after taking examples from games such as DAoC and PlanetSide. But obviously we have seen terrible balance in almost all the tiers in GW2.
Great post!
I agree – the vocal cry babies and whiners who complained endlessly when Warhammer Online only had 2-factions rather than 3 have fallen silent about the failure of GW2’s 3-faction WvW to tackle the issue.
It’s obvious that there needs to be an auto-Alliance mechanic. To make it work, they could introduce NPC Generals/Leaders who automatically negotiate an alliance between the two losing sides when they get battered to a certain extent. Not that this in itself is enough to fix the issue, but it’s a start – and you can hang other mechanics off it.
Arenanet, could you please make other (at the moment worthless) rezzes work in the same way?
No. I’m flipping these perfectly fairly. I don’t see why;
- the supply should be changed while I have trades on, OR,
- the market should be fixed.

Would you say that it’s yet another option guardians can’t take due to the low base hitpoint problem which hounds them at every turn?
It’s a step in the right direction, but if the requirements for activation are still the same then it’s crap since you have to pray the god of RNG.
I agree. Crit-based guardians will be viable only when BASE HITPOINTS are improved.
“Tanky/good defensive” profession/builds can absorb/avoid your burst. You cant absorb the constant damage, you are too squishy. If you keep fighting you will die through retaliation or direct damage, because guardian have better sustainability and keep damaging all the fight.
That’s the theory, but in practice, your damage will cream any guardian before retaliation can get you to 60%. It’s massively borked in your favour, enjoy it before the 16/10/13 nerf.
Arenanet should hang their heads. We did nothing to deserve this.
Condition immunity needs to become a thing.
We come home from work tired and all ready to cheer up our mood for a bit of wvw and ohh noes we already have everything :/
We had a bit of fun at 9am when you were just one massive, invincible zergh transferring between AM and GH BL to cap stuff – that gave us a chance to take it back. Now that your massive, invincible zerghs never leave the zones it’s boring.
I disagree with the OP. The current system is great, keep going, but do polish and fix existing stuff, and as with tequatl, don’t be afraid to remix current content.
Possibly the worst matchup in the history of bad matchups. That league system can’t come soon enough.
I approve this message.
I think we all have a vision of Eternity being not what we have at the moment. Mine is the same blade switching system that we have at present, but with a handle that stays the same. The handle in the OP’s post is appopriate.

Eternity is a Sunrise that looks crap at night.
They said something about a legendary scavenger hunt about 8 months ago. So you’re looking at minimum 8 months…. and the scavenger hunt doesn’t seem to be close, so… even more.
Couldn’t you just pay, please?
Total makeover kit → Change default eyes to red = Fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
L2 Judge’s Intervention and Flashing Blade.
Man, you guys are harsh. I was trying to tempt Svarty into rolling a Necro.
We have enough QQing rerollers, thx :P
Why could that be?
I bought doubloons ages ago for about 50s each, intending to go for Juggernaut because it would be easier than farming the charged lodestones needed for Sunrise. When the doubloons went up, I sold them at 1g50s each and upgraded charged cores in the mystic forge. I finally got Dawn thanks largely to the price of mats increasing enormously. While everybody was going for ascendeds, I finished my legendary. I do have some molten lodestones to get rid of, though.
As a guardian, I feel abandoned by Anet. Every other class eventually kills me but I can slow most of them down a bit.
Necros are obviously top of the pile thanks to Josh Groucheroo and his influence and access to the devs on the State of the Game show.
Leagues are the nirvana we all seek, yesno?!
This year we have seen many improvements to the game, not least in terms of loot etc.
While we have seen a some new dungeon-style content, the old dungeons have been continually improved by Robert Hrouda and his manservant. Sadly, while the great, old skins are still available at exotic level, crafting and world boss loot is moving on to ascended level. I wonder if ascended stuff will become available for dungeon tokens at some point and whether this point will be when ascended armour arrives?
Am I the only one who can live with 20 less stats in a dungeon that is no more difficult than before?
TLDR:- is anet manipulating the trading post that’s supposed to be player driven?
No.
Awesome and your source?
No.
You don’t need to manipulate demand when you can manipulate supply.
Ya, that’s normal. There’s 3 tiers of hit points for the 8 classes:
Lowest HP (about 10k)= Ele, Thief, Guardian
Medium HP (about 15k) = Engi, Ranger, Mes
High HP (about 18k) = Necro, Warrior
This is completely arbitrary and nonsensical.
This fact completes my Daily Disappointment Achievement. Every day.
And don’t forget pact weapons, if you like dark, the skins are less used but look pretty good. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pact_Quarterstaff
I think this staff skin is my favourite.
My main frustration with Gw2 , is the population . Some zones have no living souls in them , And some dungeons u wait over 40 min to set up a party . I tried guesting on a Very High traffic server and the difference was mild . I hate that I’m shouting for over half a hour in a zone for a champion event, and having no reply or no living soul in sight.
The world is amazing but I’m getting bored playing in solo player rpg .I wish some servers would be dissolved , and merged together .
I don’t know how it is in USA , but in Eu its not a pretty sight .
Stop hanging out in the middle of nowhere, expecting the action to come to you. Go to LA and watch for player-made champ events, etc. Or… gasp make your own!
Huge buying opportunity inc. Except if they wait too long it’ll be too late for the europeans to dump all their night’s loot.
Karma is not an issue for WvWers.
Why not make the minimum 1 so nobody complains?
It depends on the character I use. The ones I play the most are the ones that are the most unlucky when salvaging. I like to think that they are cursed, and that it means I should level up another character
As I mention here, I think characters have a hidden luck stat.
Everytime someone salvages a rare and doesn’t get an ecto, they come to the forums and say that the droprates have been nerfed again. This has to stop
Where’s the harm guaranteeing 1 ecto and then the rest as bonus?
People say the economy is managed well, then we have opaque changes to droprates behind-the-scenes. I don’t consider manipulation of supply as an indicator of a well-run economy – It’s a wise management of resources, but it certainly isn’t the free-market economy that most american players would believe themselves to be playing in.
Apologies for the lack of vocabulary flair in this post, I recognise and admit that I didn’t vary the language enough, resulting in many repeated words which make the sentences horrible to read.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
While I welcome the changes, I have to say that I would have rather seen an across-the-board shave/reduction in damage output by everything. Frankly, it’s the damage that kills people.
Tweaking things is nice, and giving people alternate ways of removing conditions is cute, but in many cases people have already maximised their ability to do this and still get killed by condi spam. Giving them another method to clean conditions doesn’t help them, it just gives them an alternative way to postpone the inevitable.
Selling one are we? Most subtle. Please note the “these forums are not a grey market” sticky.
Note how Riyanto.8197 has rerolled to an alt to do this RNG stuff.
All characters have a hidden Luck stat (not related to MagicFind) that determines how the RNG treats them. You should reroll until you get a “Lucky” character, like Riyanto.8197 did.
Maybe make the Dolyaks move faster per nearby ally, increased by up to ten allies. There would be incentive to guard them since it is helping your team overall even if you are not participating in big fights/being in other areas.
Conversely there would be more incentive for the other team to split up into small teams to stop these faster dolyaks
The issue is not about an in-game reason to defend them, it is about the way we actually determine who has defended them. Currently, you can get credit by standing near them when they finish. That is clearly not a good platform for delivering rewards.
Checkpoints? Small reward per checkpoint… adds up to big reward overall, standing at one point gives only 1 small reward, so… no biggie, right?
I imagine dumping a series of rams at a lord to keep that buff going… looks fun!
Good suggestion, I will see what I can do.
Good suggestion??!!!
Transfer to low server, ride it to the top, collect rewards, repeat.
Server hopping is already an issue, why encourage it?
I think the league system is a great idea but I am concerned about transfers. I suspect that there will be a cluster of go-to servers which end up around the top/bottom of the various leagues. Actually… that seems like a good way to distribute players. I think the guys at the bottom of the bottom need to be thrown a bone tho.
3. The player must meet some form of minimum activity requirement or lose his registration for that season. (we can discuss what constitutes activity worthy of receiving the reward i guess.)
The season long reward will require you to complete the WvW season meta achievement. Which behaves much like the Living World achievements. The server for which you receive rewards will be the 1st server you log in on once the season starts. Any transfers after that will not change your rewards.
This sounds great. Perhaps make it so that it requires you to complete all of the achievements on the same server to avoid hoppers who go on SFR for the first day of the season then go back home and wait for their prize.
