Your reward will be based on the server you log into the first time once the season starts. You can transfer as much as you like, but you will still get the reward from that first server.
You seriously don’t see any problem with this?
IIRC Someone said that there’s a random (reset or not) timer every 4 hours but a hard reset every 24 hours… or something.
ArenaNet have consistently created;
- new farmable content, and at the same time
- desirable items for the gem store.
This combo will drive the value of gold through the floor. It seems to be a workable business model, but don’t expect to be able to afford anything in the gem store without the mighty RL$ in your hand.
Is Ascended Crafting the reason for all the mega-farmable events we’ve had for months on end?
At first glance Ascended weapons seem to be turning the game into World of CraftCraft
Regarding the precursor scavenger hunt or craft-it-yourself precursor: I’m still predicting they come out with the time worn MMO dev statement, “Oh, that? We abandoned that months ago”.
Is there no toughness primary set? There are hints of one in the Dulfy weapon skin preview!
I wonder if they’ll do something with the underwater area of the map? You could fit a whole tunnel network down there…
What do you think about a last addition for SM? The Asura Laser!
It will be possibile make the laser only if the all other updates are done; it will fire a giant AOE that will hit whatever camp, tower or keep in the map but the laser will fire only each 5 minutes!
What do you think? I’m crazy? -
ps: soryy for bad grammar
I think this should be implemented as follows:
1) It is loaded up with supply to charge it – can be loaded up any time and the charges stay forever until fired
2) Can only be fired when you have the outmanned buff
They love Joshua Davis so much, they built the game around him!
I’m convinced there’s a bug that makes the pointer disappear.
I think it’s not the first time I see that thread subject.
Indeed, but you aren’t allowed to bump old threads on the topic, but you aren’t allowed to post new threads on the topic. Hypocrisy abounds! Here is the nonsense Anet emailed me. “Current, active thread”, needs more clarity -first page? First 10 pages? Within a month? What is current?
Greetings,
While you are correct that common courtesy dictates you post in an existing thread on a topic before opening a new one, this courtesy applies to active threads on the forum. [..] Posting in a thread that has been inactive for this long is called “necroposting” and is frowned upon. If you are unable to find a current, active thread on a topic you would like to discuss, then by all means start a new one. However, it is very rarely acceptable to bring back a thread from last year in order to make a point.

Anyway, I agree with the OP, stealth needs to break much more easily. Giving invisibility to a class with super high damage is an invitation for trolling. The stealth stomp is a symptom of Arenanet’s lack of forethought on this topic, yet a simple fix has been available forever and they haven’t shown any remorse over the decision to leave these awful mechanics in the game. Working as intended, thus it is clear that Arenanet’s intention is to have a troll class that can kill people from a position of impunity.
People who want a sterile room with two zergs in it should have nothing to do with WvW.
Most of the hardcore WvW guilds are the ones that want GvG. Are you saying that these guilds should have nothing to do with WvW?
When GvGing, yes. They should get no rewards for GvG. To me it is tantamount to the organised trading of lootbags.
People who want a sterile room with two zergs in it should have nothing to do with WvW.
Also, they shouldn’t be collecting lootbags, badges, exps for killing one another in pre-arranged fights. This seems to be against the spirit of WvW and something I’d expect Arenanet to categorise as exploitation.
I love my Mez .. but now I gotta retire her.
Useless in for farming PvE and an expensive, dog slow, stumbling, pin cushion in WvW.Necros are the new light amour, must have, Zerg accessory …. well….. till they Nerf that too.
Leave the Thief’s alone.. at least we know where the trolls are.
I know a mesmer who’s very fast indeed. I believe it involves the staff and sceptre.
Twisted Watchwork Shoulders are an amazing piece of armor, I could think of MANY things this armor could be if it was a full set!
Artists’ time could be better spent doing something more appealing to MY tastes.
Lucky you
I was waiting in overflow, and when I finally could travel to the homeworld the event was over.
Overflows are the problem with this idea. I would suggest they go and have a long, hard think about alternatives.
I think Devon deserves a kitten medal for his slew of responses in WvW topics.
Even if WvW is in a terrible place right now, and maybe it will be for several months into the future, he’s at least acknowledging there are issues and trying to offer the changes he wants to implement.
I just wanted to say thanks. Especially after seeing so few responses from Devs in other places where responses are desperately needed. (COUGH Ele forum..)
Let’s continue to repair the broken WvW climate.
I agree. Devon’s doing a great job under difficult circumstances. His responses on a forum that is notoriously (and perhaps rightly) critical are always welcome.
Thanks Devon.
Seems a bit odd that it would happen from nowhere and for no reason.
Guardians are bad and need buffs and by the Six Anet pls make us heal for more and do more damage. And more mobility and CC too please, like cripples. Thx.
We won’t get anything as long as that clown who hosts the State of the Game keeps saying, “.. and guardians are fine”.
Is it any coincidence that he plays a Necro?
Well this is dull.
Well they should increase T2 and T3 doors and walls hitpoints.
There are no T3 doors.
38k vs 10k vs 8k by Saturday morning = Unfun.
Here are my three ideas for improving Squads
1. Each commander is allocated a unique colour for their icon randomly on flag-up.
2. Squad Campaign Icon – Commander chooses from a pallet of mini-icons. This icon floats near each person in the squad like the Ellen Kiel/Evon Gnashblade supporter icon. Everybody can see people in other squads’ icons. This icon is the same colour as the commander tag.
3. Minimap dots for ONLY people in a squad are the same colour as the commander tag. (make commander icons always appear above normal dots, maybe put a border around the icon to make it stand out).
This doesn’t result in rainbow map as there are only ever two colours – the colour of the commander, and all the normal pale greens.
I usually just panic and run away.
I try to fight then i die.
Run away and hide in a friendly tower/keep/camp or zerg. If they are determined to fight me, I have to just try to knock some health off them and hope someone turns up before I die.
Most farmers are collecting stacks of everything and not selling at the moment. Arenanet said the next tier of gear will require current level stuff.
I’ll agree, it’s better than pinatas or sonic devices.
IMHO The groups of aetherblades are good, but the champions are such a lengthy chore with all that knockback BS.
Still better than smashing pinatas. XD
Disagree.
Yes, this is good content, well done.
Yes, spend time dodging and running around while someone yells, “the challenger had better wrap this up quickly”. At first appearance (you know, the one everybody rightly judges by), this content appears unplayable to myself (utility talented guardian), even in my berserker equipment.
To me, a challenge means having a reasonable chance in a fight, which can offer some fun, but being downed in 1 hit from that many HP is simply ludicrous. Through perseverance I managed to defeat 3 of them, but when same thing happened in the 4th round i simply gave up and won’t be back there again. Being 1-shotted all the time and dying over and over again, is not my idea of fun!
Sometimes the content is crappy. Just wait around for the next content.
This is a part of the larger problem: thieves in general.
They require a lot of attention from Mr Peters and co.
Thieves are fine.
If by “fine” you mean “overpowered”, I agree.
This is a part of the larger problem: thieves in general.
There is unanimous consensus that they are massively over the top and require a lot of attention from Mr Peters and co.

I can understand that some might conclude that I’m baiting or trolling or whatever the young people do on the internet. I wish to reassure everybody that I am perfectly serious.
Why do the NPCs work with different rules than the players? That’s unfair and makes me feel cheated. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Because with this system they can add ranks without touching the existing ones, in the other way you propose they should modify the entire ranking system each time they add a rank.
This is indeed why the system is built as it is. It is also intended to last for a very, very long time. Beyond that, we are going to be continuing to increase the rate at which you gain those ranks.
But you are going to change the names to be more in-keeping with the rest of the game as you said before, right?
I acknowledge that I’ll never win any of the minigames like Crap-Toss or Southsun Brawl or the Sprint thing.
The fact is that you’re not supposed to be amazing at everything. It comes down to: if it’s boring, do something else. Life advice kids, right there, free-of-charge.
The rules SPECIFICALLY state that the special abilities can only be used ONCE per game.
NPCs are not sticking to the rules.
For example, Maddie spams Woo constantly.
… and then calls players out for cheating. Hilarious hypocrisy!
Should server caps be increased again?
No, they need to be reduced by 50%
Fix is simple, limit the amount of players per map from each server. Those on larger servers will just have to wait in que, or move to a lower pop server. They could also add more maps to accommodate the lower players per map. It won’t work perfectly but I think it would help, it would also help on the lag.
there is a third, and MUCH cooler option. have champion strength NPC’s randomly take towers.
Imagine if you have, say, one of jormags servants suddenly taking over Hills. Random timer, so it can’t be made “preparations for it”. Only warning you get is a 5 minute notice in the form of “World event notice”. Then suddenly, BANG a sea-snake charges bay or a mega ogre something takes hills…
You’d need a zerg to stop em. And they’d defend the towers fiercy, if they managed to get em.
Say you lose hills to a NPC. The walls would have patrols on them with veteran strength NPC’s. You’d have to siege it, and the enemies would be no less challenging then fighting a small zerg.
We DON’T need more PVE in WvW.
The evidence is against you.
Arenanet, please go back to the old system before working on a better version of this. The current system is diabolical, abysmal, terribad and makes me want to quit.

Are you guys talking about something like Jade Quarry General, Jade Quarry Invader, Jade Quarry Recruit, etc?
Ye, but you would have on the current title menu:
<Title: WvW Rank>
$PVP is for the people Anet care about. Screw them!
Swamurabi.7890The game is headed in the direction of a re-balance.
1. change map population cap to force players away from top servers
Anet has already made changes to player cap and said they can change this at any time.
2. Stat buff for outmanned AND outpointed servers as well as stat de-buff for high population AND high PPT servers
I don’t see any way of making the game “balanced” and FUN for everyone without this.
I agree very strongly with these, particularly point 1. The fact is that too many people are piling into too few servers and if the only disincentive Anet can offer is massive queues by having less people per map (also aiding the lag issues), then that’s what they should do.
Swamurabi.78903. Change from server bases WvWvW to faction based WvWvW, with “overflow” instances added for more players.
We already have 3 factions in GW2, Vigil, Priory and Order of Wispers.
I would have preferred it if the game was like this to begin with, but Anet designed it to be WvW, so WvW it has to be. This is core to the game.
Gunnar’s have had kitten matchups since this new matchup system came in.
Arenanet have really hurt our community. Starhejm is just another casualty of it.
Another horrible week of imbalance. Time to take a break from GW2 until next Friday.
It feels like time to just stop playing/paying.
If it makes you feel any better I expect our big guilds to leave at some point, too. We’re getting very big zergy enemy servers and can’t compete with them.
We had Pac-man done to us last week, and again this week. Boring, boring massive zergy servers that we can’t compete with. WvW = no-go zone.
Kowtowing to the top tier server’s whiners was the worst best mistake in Anet history.
For reasons known only to themselves, the sPvP playerbase is conspiring to have Retaliation nerfed in WvW. Video:
http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2guru/c/2517953?t=13m54s
We have lots of retaliation and lots of our traits involve Retaliation. What should we ask Arenanet for in compensation for this incoming nerf?
Thank kitten this bullkitten matchup is drawing to a close. Good riddance, Miller’s, you’re awful and remind me of the gigantic FSP zergs – no fun at whatsoever. I hope we never see you again.
Horrible. matchup, just horrible. Arenanet need a kick in the bum for that.
Arenanet should be parsing more data:
e.g.
- Has a large, very active WvW guild moved server… where from, where to? Change weighting factors accordingly.
