Guilds already run together, not sure what more you really want?
More guilds, more variety of guilds = more community organization = more activity.
Less militia standing around only defending or waiting for the single public tag guy to log in and form a map blob.
2 hour skirmishes with better rewards = more players and guilds playing = better way to have more activity than making wvw into gvg battlegrounds.
Fix lag issues = more players and guilds playing = better way to have more activity than making wvw into gvg battlegrounds.
Improve professions like we have begged since launch = more players and guilds playing = better way to have more activity than making wvw into gvg battlegrounds.
Add elite specs more frequently = more players and guilds playing = better way to have more activity than making wvw into gvg battlegrounds.
…
…
…
…WvW is realm vs realm gameplay, anet is not going to change it into some glorified gvg mode. The gvg ship sailed long ago and your suggestions would kill this rvr mode fast.

Anyways, each of these “classes” sounds very hard locked into what they do. As such, I’d say they go against the existing class design where classes can generally play in many different styles
But in WvW you dont play in any style, you just follow commander, build siege, defeat lord, follow build kill lord, the only thing you do is atack follow and build, where are the diferent play styles? They are when you can be a cool builder and manage siege or bomb some walls, watch your squad’s back and scream “INCOMING!”
We have some cool mecanics with traps and siege, but nobody kittening uses them, ans when they do is not that funny
I understand what you are saying, but the solution is for the devs to do some rework on professions and add more role options through new elites specs.
Gaile is asking players to follow posting rules, to be more civil, use some maturity and to use constructive posting habits… no more.
Y’all can discuss a range of issues, that I’m sure the devs want to solve as well, but the toxicity in this section needs to stop. Nobody here will gain any favor, or speed up development, by being jerks to each other or the devs.
Edit- And stop giving Gaile a hard time, she doesn’t deserve it.

In before rollback!
blame MAG for the downfall of BG since they made 4+ guilds moved to lower tier.
I generally don’t engage in these threads, but I’m feeling like I need to comment.
There are a plethora of reasons why wvw is a mess, why players transfer around and why servers, guilds, match ups… aren’t healthy… and most of that falls on the devs lap.
With regard to the mag/bg stuff I keep seeing over and over… First, the above comment applies. Second, BG players are fatigued from all these double teamed fights with linked servers. Third, mag was a blip on the radar for 4 years, and it took a dying game mode and server links to happen for it to shine for a mere few months lol… RIP mag Dec 2016 – Feb 2017.

There have been a awful lot of times where slight terrain differences and enemy movements have screwed the pathing on this skill, and I can’t be the only one who has noticed it… Can we look into fixing this please?
FWIW, ANet can’t just life the look of Tron skins and apply it in-game: that’d be a violation of various laws, and/or trade agreements, and open them up to unpleasantness with lawyers and courts.
This may or may not be a good thing, but it’s definitely a real thing. :?
You can get transmution charges free in-game, convert gold to gems to buy them or spend up to $7 on a 25 pack. Pretty easy or at a low cost to get these.
I could understand if we were talking about upgrade extractors, at a whopping $30 for 25, but…
Skills need longer cooldowns, not shorter ones. The short cooldowns are what makes the game feel spammy and skill-less.
Exactly this! In my opinion an energy/mana system is needed to prevent people from spell spamming. The amount of stuns each class has access to, should be reduced. Add longer cast duration of spells to have more counterplay. The combat is that fast paced, even experienced players can’t completely follow, so how should inexperienced players manage to follow combat?
Being able to “follow combat” has nothing to do with cool downs, that has to do with skill animation and telegraphs… You can thank the old revamped gw1 engine for that.
Of course it has. You can’t tell me spamming spells isn’t a problem here. You never know all cds of the enemy in combat (4v4 or even 3v3)
Timers on skills have NOTHING to do with the low quality skill animations and effects. GW2 has an engine that can’t handle super animations and effects, that’s why the devs go with the minimalist approach in this area.
I played city of heroes for a long time and I knew most of the time what skill was being fired and used, but not here. I can look at a ton of other games and their skills are easily identifiable because of the clear visuals, so you know what is going on, but not here… That’s a big part of the reason why gameplay in gw2 is mostly reactive in wvw and spvp, as opposed to proactive.

I agree with with olrun 100%
You want certain skills and abilities to have meaningful effects. Longer CD for potentially stronger skills and lower cds for abilites that wont have as much impact.
For instance the warrior who has a full adrenaline bar goes into beserk mode. Hits F1 misses but its ok because they are using beserker stance. In 3 sec trys to F1 again lands and then uses head butt then F1 again.
The most damage a warrior can do is be in beserk mode landing spammable attacks.
Before you had to make a choice, be OP in juggernaut for 20 or less sec. Be team support with a banner or have a really good passive signet for a elite that allowed for better regen.
People hate thieves because staff 5 with dodge is straight spam. Mesmer goes back in time to recast skills it straight spam.
If they rework traits they need to rebalance them and make items like engy 5 hammer skill have a long cool down since a stun should force players to use a utility which has a longer CD then the hammer weapon if they dont have stability.
PLayers should have to dodge a hammer 5 from a warrior instead of sitting on perma boons.
Fast game play isnt the goal (even though its already fast) competitive meaningful game play with build diversity and the ability to run unique team comps is.
Yes, let’s increase skill cool downs and make this a completely awful combat system, and push even more players off to other games…
… reevaluating skill effectiveness would be a given if cool downs were decreased.
(edited by Swagger.1459)
You might need to give some examples. Currently SAB Blue skins are probably close..
Hero-Tron?
Job-o-Tron?
Ya know the gw2 universe “tron”?
Part of the appeal to combat in gw2 is the fast paced nature of it, and long cooldowns on skills are counter productive to that.
Well what kind of cds are you even talking about? Class? Weapons? Skills? Imo weapon cds around 10-20s are ok, anything lower is spammy. For skills, up that to 20-30s. 30s+ on either is where I start thinking its boring (elites at 100s+ being most obvious examples, I’d rather have “weaker” versions).
Your post make no sense without specifics.
I mean sure, I’d also like blowtorch on 1s cd so I agree with everything you said.
But I already specified… “Reduce many weapon and slot skill cool downs”… https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skill_bar#Slot_skills
The general idea was a good enough explanation, and it’s pretty safe to identify (like you just did) the skills that have unnecessarily long cool downs.

Waiting years between substantial profession updates, and doing mostly trait number tweaks, has caused a lot of stagnation. This needs to be addressed, and not just for spvp, but for the entire game…
1. Add elites, with new weapons and slot skills, way more frequently to greatly boost diversity and replayability.
2. Reduce many weapon and slot skill cool downs, because long timers are really anti-fast paced and twitch play. These simple changes would also be the answer to improving core professions.
Eotm has been there for quite awhile and it was a basically a beta test for new things to implement in WvW but now it just sits there and count toward servers populations. If you go in to Eotm all you see is K-trains and that doesn’t sound like beta test to me. SO why not get rid of it?
Wait, WHAT?
WvW and EoTM populations are connected STILL?
No wonder the populations are counted WRONGLY.
Anet, you are more abusive than any other MMO past or present.
If true, the game can be fixed to a huge degree by making sure one mode can’t affect the other.
How very evil! Stack EOTM, your server gets a bonus that others can not hope to fight at all?
The next MMO that doesn’t abuse players is going to make a lot of money and gain a lot of players from this game immediately.
… eotm doesn’t count toward wvw population metrics.

Just because you don’t like it and find no purpose to it, doesn’t mean others don’t feel the opposite.
There is a item, you combine with a normal hero weapon to make it into a mistforged. Same item is used to turn the normal hero armor to the mistforged. That iten already exists. ANET said they haven’t decided how to release it. I think that personally its not that cool and they should just release a way to get it.
People keep asking for the tournaments to come back to get the item but this is stupid. You can’t have tournaments with balance so bad in every aspect of the game.
It is true that, there currently is a reward track to get the basic Hero’s weapon, and you CAN upgrade that to a mistforged hero’s weapon via the mistforge, however, to do so, you need the ’ Gift of Heroes’, which is also only obtainable via Tournament tickets.
This is all we know…
Tyler Bearce.3427:
“The Tier 1 Weapons will be made available in an upcoming Reward Track, much like the armor already is.
We haven’t fully decided how to distribute the T2 Weapons and Armor yet. Though, we are currently leaning towards players purchasing them with a currency that they’d earn as a match reward. We may also set rank requirements for the various pieces, so you’d need to be a relatively high rank(1-2k) to purchase a full set."
Seriously peeps? Y’all are really niggling and chest thumping about servers in a decaying game mode?
It’s a joke to think there is any real competition going on when wvw is half dead.
If players fight for different servers they are not helping their own server right?
key words from you… “other servers would benefit”… not the players home servers.
WvW would not be healthy with a “free for all” server guesting design.
Yep. It was a long post. I’ll give you that. But at the top, a mere three bullet points down, I note the fact that these matchups result in players NOT playing AT ALL, much less for their home server. So, if the refugee is able to visit another zone for some WvW play, at least they are playing, and playing WvW.
To make it really easy, I added some pictures as well. Please refer to image #3, which shows clearly how much the players are playing for their home servers in this matchup.
Not sure where the idea came from that I was suggesting a “free for all” server guesting design, but then I wasn’t able to provide pictures for every point, so at some point it is required to actually read the proposal.
I understand what you are requesting. My simplified points still stand.
Nothing you are suggesting fixes any of the core population problems and gets more players playing this game mode. Understand?
(edited by Swagger.1459)
@ Swagger.1459 – Actually, I would just like population balance and non-trollable matchmaking, but yea… probably seriously flawed from that aspect!
As for hurting other servers, how is this so? During the initiated refugee program, other servers would benefit by an influx of refugees, and they would not be able to overstay their visas.
If players fight for different servers they are not helping their own server right?

There is an alternate forum for posts like these @jamesdolla. This thread is for discussion of possible solutions to situations like the one discussed.
Please don’t railroad this thread when an outlet for that type of post already exists. Thanks!
So you want an overly complex server guesting program that draws players from individual servers, which hurts their servers btw, to play on other servers?
You really need to see the flaws in your thinking here.

It’s really funny seeing these threads on the forums throughout the past few months of people arguing about whether or not full team que should be back in the game along with solo q, and honestly even though there should be BOTH a solo q and team que in the game for 5v5. However, at this point in time the answer to bring in more people relies on this simple question.
In a worst case scenario, would you be willing to let conquest die in order to bring back the competitive scene for a smaller game mode like 2v2 or 3v3 deathmatch for example to take its place?
If you answered no then sadly you’re part of the problem.
If guild wars 2 by some miracle would release 2v2 and 3v3 deathmatch, in my opinion would be a huge success and here’s why.
- 2v2 = less players per team = more overall teams with a low population as compared to 5v5
- since there’s more teams overall within the playerbase = less time waiting in que
- 2 people to keep track of instead of 5 makes things much smoother in terms of organizing when to play
- Tournaments can be organized quicker and have a better outcome of having full team rosters every time.
- Shoutcasting a 2v2 or 3v3 tournament is much easier than shoutcasting conquest, as a matter of fact it’s almost impossible to keep track of 3 different viewpoints at once.
- From a viewers perspective watching a 2v2 or 3v3 would be simpler because you can see all the players at once, as opposed to conquest where you are guaranteed to miss something throughout the match because it’s impossible to see all three points at one time, it’s honestly just a clusterf*** to watch.
However, in order for this to work, what I proposed needs to be given every quality of life that conquest has, meaning proper leagues, leaderboards, the whole 9 yards. Also touching base from earlier, I’m not saying that both my proposed new game type and conquest couldn’t coexist, in fact they might even work well together since they are different in every way, in terms of numbers, and purpose. However if it came down to it, what would you rather have, a new game mode that could revitalize the scene if done correctly or having conquest just dragging itself along? Personsally I think they should risk it for the biscuit.
Thanks for reading.

Sorry, unfortunately nothing you listed will improve spvp.
This game needs profession revamps, skill improvements, better and more optional roles to play, more elites and skills, better rewards…
If the game was balanced around 2v2s and 3v3s you would probably get most of that except maybe “more optional roles to play” and “more elite and skills” would come with time. But it would be much more appealing for viewership compared to the awful mess of our 5v5 conquest.
Even if you fixed everything you mentioned we’d still have a game that already no one wants to watch that is exclusionary to the uninitiated viewer, and few want to play unless it’s to farm rewards.
Core things needs to be addressed first… Size of match up is irrelevant.
If you have to buy or grind for this new agony zone, I don’t think many people will play in it
No, the mechanics are free. You don’t have to grind. It just works as such.
No thanks. We have more than enough frustrating mechanics and designs as is.
That’s vague. Examples…?
We don’t need “agony battlegrounds” that force a highly disliked zone status effect on players.

Just curious, why would you submit a ticket on a known issue that has been discussed, and responded to by the devs, many times?
Why would you create a topic about what anet is working on wvw when it’s been known for some time since the last poll and mentioned by the devs a couple times since? And we’ve been told many times they won’t discuss future content.
Well, there is obviously a big dry spell, so I was fishing for more information to help inspire the troops and improve attitudes of people on this section.
Is that an acceptable answer?
Just curious, why would you submit a ticket on a known issue that has been discussed, and responded to by the devs, many times?
No thanks. We have more than enough frustrating mechanics and designs as is.
In a recently deleted thread, I pointed out that Anet needs to do more to encourage guild-centric play in WvW.
Why?
Because WvW is boring without guild rallies – no matter the size. When all a server has to offer is a casual militia blob, that kills the fun for a lot of players as well as makes the activity on the server dependent upon a small number of pugmanders rather than a larger number of guilds. WvW should not be a numbers arms race.
Sabull said it best in his posts on this old thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Food-for-thought-for-ArenaNet/page/2#post5011003
“Essentially our dream (and I’m sure many of you hold the same) was and is that lets say with a zone cap of “100” we have 4 guilds of 20 guys from each server in the zone, with 20 left for roaming/camp parties and afkers (20/20/20/20/20). Instead what we have had (50/30/0/0/20).”
This is what “guild-centric” WvW looks like, with protections from a blob being created for roamers, scouts, and small havoc guilds to play WvW their way.
Guilds running separate not only allow for more fight options in WvW, they also help equalize numbers in fights so that population imbalances don’t seem so outsized. It also reduces skill lag because fights remain at a size the servers are capable of processing.
“GvG was born because WvW should be more like “GvG” (equal numbers, 20man guild centered).” “GvG (or large-scale TDM) did not born for e-sports, it was never about e-sports, ques, instanced arenas, pricepools, money. It was born to make WvWvW BETTER!”
Many ideas have been floated in the past to help steer WvW towards more guild-centric play. My post isn’t to summarize those ideas, only to shout out once again to Anet that guild-centric play is what really makes WvW tick and that’s what you need to focus on encouraging. You only have to examine the server transfer trends into other tiers/servers where there are actual guilds to fight against, not casual militia blobs.
Guilds already run together, not sure what more you really want?
Structured pvp exists for a structured pvp experience. WvW is an “open world” realm vs realm experience and the devs are not going to change it into some glorified structured “battleground”.
Want more incentive for guilds to play? Add better guild reward goals. It’s not by slapping on restrictions to wvw and changing the format.
Also, this is what bothers me when I read threads like these… Yes the devs are responsible for many things, but the players are responsibile for building their own community within the game.
This guy is the typical WvW player who when gets killed goes raging mode hate whisper you calling u ganker boi and etc i guarantee it, and when u dont answer to his hate whispers he gonna go into German Mad kid : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dKWQmBM49I
Wow the thing is i never rage whisper anyone. Im not german. And im not that typical wvw player. U didnt provide one single fact about me you are justmaking assumptions. Take it ez ^^. There is no need to be mad even if u die in a game.
Actually, you do. Yes, I have screens of it…
You might be a halfway decent player, but your inability to handle constructive criticism will not garner more interest for your gameplay videos, and poor sportsmanship in-game are counterproductive to building up the small wvw community we have.
firstly i want you to post the pics that you are talking about secondly i have no problems in handling constructive criticism if it MAKES SOME SENSE. i literally said in the post to comment on GAMEPLAY not the edits. its not my problem if people can’t read..
You know exactly what I’m talking about.
The constructive criticisms you received were valid, both in this thread and the one you deleted. Please don’t post stuff for the community if you can’t handle community feedback.
aight im here to end these comments about the speed up intro stuff and handle the constructive criticisms . and swagger i wont stop posting stuff.. some will still love my content and some wont. its always like that with all gw2 vids.
the video guys has a problem and its the intro 40 sec is too much for an intro, I thought it doesn’t matter that much as alot of vids start with 40 sec+ intro but anyways ill try to cut it to make it 28 sec ( i cant do more sorry). about the speed up i really tried to speed up the parts where I didn’t feel they matter alot where for example i was fighting the war or the necro or the kiting with 5 guys, i thought all these are useless if i would play them in a normal speed. it will be more than 20 min, ( i always try to make my vids not pass 13-14min) some said that i should make highlight vids as in 3 min vids. im sorry but I really like to make a full montage about it. about the transitions, yes had alot mistakes about them, sorry cant fix them :/ . i think i covered all my edit problems. i am really sorry for people who couldn’t watch the video because of the edits and im glad of the ppl who thought that it wasn’t a big deal and watched the vid. thanks and hope you all have a good day. if you still got any comments about the vid please do. ill try to learn from my mistakes for the future.
That’s obviously not what I was saying, stop intentionally deflecting or misrepresenting my words to fit your narrative… Post all you want, just be mature enough to handle constructive criticism and stop being a poor sport in-game so you don’t alienate the community whom you are trying to gain support from. You, and your buddies too, know exactly what I’m talking about with that last sentence.
“ill try to learn from my mistakes for the future.”… Good. Play the game, have fun, don’t “shoot” first or you’ll get shot down.

When you have the outnumbered buff you don’t provide PPK. ANET already changed that.
Feb 22
World vs. World
GeneralBeing killed while outnumbered no longer grants any war score to the enemy team.
At the End of the Day it is “World” vs “World” not 9-10 guys vs 80. Get better as a “World” or a Guild or a player
Stop begging ANET for nerfs just becasue you don’t want to change or put in effort.

I don’t like how people disregard WvW as being a Competitive game mode, but are not competitive players or want to be competitive. So they want everything to be dumbed down like PVE.
Exactly.
It’s interesting… but also seems to require a party to play the content, and I’m a solo casual player, so… meh
SAB is really solo content the notice that it requires a group is false.
Thank you for the rest of your input, that’s why I started the thread to find out the reasons players didn’t buy HoT, not to debate those reasons.
What new info have you found out so far that hasn’t been discussed?
What are your suggestions to get more players to buy hot as a result of this info gathering?
The real complaint is that you all want more players playing at any time of day or night, so all “things” are more even/balanced/fairer… None of the suggestions by the op do that, it’s going to take some major wvw updates and improvements on the devs part.
I’d like to suggest that some of you start looking at the bigger issues, not how to change the inconsequential stuff that won’t do anything to address the real issues.
(edited by Swagger.1459)
The current systems are fine.
And to comment on this… “But most can agree that farming enemy players is not good WvWvW.”… Sorry, but no. It’s fun, an effective tactic and killing pixels is what pvp minded players signed up for.
Edit- “i do think it needs to be greatly reduced so other play styles besides out blobbing are represented more.”… There are already a number of “styles” to play and players do them. You want to spread out players more? Then ask the devs to create better support skills and designs so players aren’t forced to stack in large groups to gain the support benefits, and have more maps in play with open area objectives for solo and small groups to contribute even more.

Constructive video criticism: Get rid of the intro, literally zero people want to see that. Also the superspeed footage is off putting for me. I get why you did it, but it’s just… unpleasant. Perhaps try to edit footage to important stuff rather than zoom past everything.
Too late bro. Cant change anything. And alot ppl like it. Im sry if u dont like it. But no need to comment about it. Lol all my vids are speeded. And they still get liked. I see no problem. Instead of looking for problems in the video try enjoying it or just leaving it aside lol.
Bolded… Sorry, but that’s not how social forums work.
Your vid was uninteresting to watch, and I found nothing inspiring or epic about the gameplay. The intro and sped up fights didn’t help either. Good luck with your future vids.

A new expansion is what actually brings people in. Expansions are huge for advertising, since people actually talk about them outside of the game and they get treated like a new release (reviewed, found in stores).
Yet “our” expansion didn’t sell and that’s why I’m asking why. Now that some months have passed and the initial anger has faded somewhat.
You can’t tell whether the drop is due to GW2 selling poorly, or simply due gem sales. Considering that pre-purchases would be factored into the launch quarter and they went F2P in quarter prior to HoT, GW2 really wasn’t making any major box sales.
Actually it was in NCSoft reports that gem sales are stable. You can also check out online retailers that offer data to see that gem sales are indeed stable, while Heart of Thorns is selling really badly.
Bolded… “some months” dates back to October 2015, 17 months ago. There is already enough feedback on hot located here…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot
And the devs already made changes and are more aware of “things” for the next xpac, which was started right after hot was released.
I personally feel this thread is more of an expedition to keep poking the “hot sucks” beast unnecessarily, because these types of threads and posts have gone on since October 2015…
The topic has been talked about, ad nauseam, for going on 2 years, and there is more than enough feedback in the hot section for you to look through.
Yes it’s a topic that has been discussed in the past.
Those threads were common around the time Heart of Thorns was released, and at that point, despite the forum threads, the expansion was selling.
Now, however, all the quarterly reports show that the game isn’t selling anymore and I’m asking why that is. They’ve started LS3, which means a good stream of new content, yet HoT still isn’t selling.
Why is Heart of Thorns selling so badly now, compared to how Guild Wars 2: Heroic Edition was selling a quarter before the announcement of the expansion? To compare the two, Heart of Thorns is now getting regular updates, while at that point in time the core game was inside the content drought period (meaning no new content), yet it was selling more.
There are 401 pages of hot feedback where players have expressed their feelings and the devs have made changes as a result. The hot feedback will also be reflected in the next xpac.
The quarterly reports are a sum of all things surrounding the game, and iirc, there are no clearly laid out stats on specific core or hot sales in those reports.
There is nothing coming out of this thread that hasn’t already been discussed and reviewed, your post is just another platform for players to needlessly complain about hot again and again and again and again. You should already know all this as a regular poster.

it is here because PLAYERS REQUESTED for it…. even if you didn’t, many others did, and yes, you don’t have to buy it….
They requested a skin to be a rare random drop and be account bound, from an already RNG-bound real money gamble mechanic?
Such a skin would be awesome as a reward from a quest akin to the HoT legendary precursors. It doesn’t actually have to be a legendary, just implement those long quest chains for them, including a ton of mats at some point so it drains the economy (which is, after all, equivalent to real money spent).
Players can get it for free by converting gold to gems…
Edit- Using mats to “drain the economy” is not equivalent to “real money spent”.

This is a question that I would like to have some answers to, obviously it’s for players who bought Guild Wars 2 (free players can’t post here) but didn’t buy Heart of Thorns. I’m not looking for players who bought Heart of Thorns but regret it for whatever reason, nor a discussion on how good the expansion is or not, but for owners of the original game that didn’t move on to the expansion to give some reason on why.
So, to repeat the question, what’s keeping you from buying Heart of Thorns?
What’s the real point of this?
The topic has been talked about, ad nauseam, for going on 2 years, and there is more than enough feedback in the hot section for you to look through.
Edit- You’ve been here posting for 4 years, so I highly doubt you don’t already know the various reasons why certain people didn’t like or buy hot.

Geez… and some people around here think I’m unreasonable lol… This skin, and any gw1 skin here, is for nostalgia… please stop being silly about it. Also, I’m pretty sure the core complaint by the op is the means of acquisition, and not all that other stuff.
nah im pretty sure hos core complaint is that he already has the weapon in gw1 so reselling it to him in the second game is unacceptable.
Yeah, “means of acquisition”… op wants it for free and that’s the real complaint.

What about while in avatar the druid can get astral force from the heals so it can last longer.
Simple fix and easy enough to do should bring the supposed healer back in the game?
As right now it is not the bursty healer and obviously it never was the constant healer either. Also, and this is just an idea, the trait cultivated synergy effect could change to:
- Astral force degradation while in avatar is greatly reduced. Astral force generation improved by 50% while in avatar state. ( 2% for heal)
Thus if the druid trait for it, while is healing the group it should be able to stay in avatar state almost indefinitely.
This is good for raids to keep the buffs up now that you should only need to bring one and groups in wvw as support.
And that’s what I talked about in my post you decided to shoot down…
Gw2 was intentionally designed to have mostly offensive gameplay designs, and as a result, all team support designs, skills, qol features… are some of the weakest I’ve ever experienced.
Right now, some of us think Anet employees don’t play PvP and WvW, so Anet doesn’t know about big problems. So I think of way to get community to help Anet! What if we did a Crowdfunding to collect monies to give to Anet, so they can hire people to play PvP and WvW for them? Once Anet know about all the issues, then maybe they can assign developer to make fix?
Your answer bolded.
Ok, seems there are a few concerns, so let me give some info here (with no slight intended for the OP or anyone else participating in this thread):
We encourage our team members to play the game. Many of us do. This is a good thing for the game and for the community! This is good for every aspect of the game, from PvP, to WvW, to PvE, and beyond.
- Sometimes playing the game in a competitive sense means.. you win! It doesn’t seem fair to suggest that a developer — who has absolutely no advantage on the live game — should back off, or intentionally take a dive, or move to a different server. After all, it’s likely they are and have been a participating member of a particular world for some time, and moving isn’t reasonable, nor is it required, nor should it be expected. I’m on a world that isn’t highly competitive, but I don’t find myself feeling the urge to move to a higher-ranked world. Conversely, if my world suddenly becomes competitive, I won’t be shuffling out of there to satisfy some edge-case expectation of me as a player or staff member.
- No one is required to represent the ArenaNet guild. In fact, no one at the company is even required to join the Anet guild. Both are entirely voluntary. I rep other guilds, sometimes, but I rep Anet most of the time because that’s my choice. Other members of my team are not members of the guild at all. It’s very much an individual decision.
- We don’t have a fully decked out guild hall if you mean in the decoration sense. You should have seen me scrambling to decorate for Wintersday. I’ve thought of taking up scribing to do more. Quite frankly, I feel we have a real dearth of decorations and going to other guilds’ halls to see how they decorate is always a treat for me, because they do it so well!
- Did I mention ArenaNet playing ArenaNet’s game is a good thing?
The server linking doesen’t make WvW more balanced. It just makes WvW messier and more difficult to organize. There is a bunch of slackers not doing anything usefull on EB while we have a que.
You might have missed it, but the poll has ended!
The poll has ended! After removing all votes for “Don’t Count My Vote”, the final results are:
82.7% – Yes
17.3% – NoThis mean that World Linking is now officially a Guild Wars 2 Feature. Thank you to everyone who voted!
…
1. Established companies don’t crowd fund.
2. Anet earns money through gem and cash shop purchases.
3. Please think a bit more in-depth before making suggestions like these.
