Seriously what else do you want from us? I play berserker : Takes no skill, phantasm op. I play bunker: You have no skill you just never die. I play condi : Pu mesmer Op nerf, no skill. By this point people only want me to stand still and bend over. I think I should just roll a warrior or necro or ranger, or guard and either Zoo pet the whole place, or Stun or spam bow, cus I no longer have cred. This , please Anet remove my phantasms and give me an actual leap without having to target something, give me 25% speed trait or signet, give me a trait like eles or warriors to cleanse cripple , chill, immobilized etc… Please Anet gift me the power to have actual attacks and not kitten clones and phantasms for heavy damage. So i can finally hex people to death and not get a big rant on how my class is Op.

Seriously , this is nothing new, its the new rune sets and might stacking, my phantasm hit some poor guy for 11k when i went down, do you know how much 11k is?

On another note, I wouldn’t mind giving up my phantasms and clones, for some viable attacks that don’t require targetting, actual legit cleanse and speed traiting. Oh and while we on that track, less RNG spam on conditions and more trusty reliable fields , ty all

Also, I’d swap out dogged march for last stand.
You’ll have 4 stances total when you swap out doly sig for balanced stance, so last stand would be a better choice than dogged march in that situation, especially since you have cleansing ire and beserker’s stance already.
I’d also run settler’s ammy or rabid’s ammy over that soldier’s ammy.

Warriors have some of the best damage and very constant damage at that. They also have some very good survivability paired with that damage; which is why they’re so wanted.
Warriors are very good in dungeons. There are a number of builds you can run in dungeons including fractals. The build Harper posted has the highest dps and is probably the most viable build right now.

Thank you Anet, for giving the talented warriors a build that takes so much skill to play. Everyone knows the toughest class to play is warrior. That’s why you see so many people play warriors they want the challenge of playing against all the other easy to play classes.

Hammer skills are highly telegraphed, and hambow easily kited,
f1 #4 and #5 have huge tells, lb #5 got a long cast time and huge tell.
If you get stunlocked, use your elite for insane stab duration;
you should kill him quickly if you both are GC, if he isn’t, then his damage will be subpar too.

Yes, i play a warrior. No, it’s a shout/support and yes, i have played hammer to the degree of understanding the fundamentals of the build and the cds.

how many are those stun skills again? thats a total of 4. how many does a ranger have do you think? a ranger has 2, 1 from the shortbow and the other 1 from Greatsword. btw, rangers need to attack from behind to stun people. no offense meant, but do you know how hard it is to play a non-spirit ranger?

I count 3 of which 2 are not even stuns, LB #5 is an immob with high CD and i solely listed it because warriors generally use it to set up stuns; easily sidestepped or dodged with its new animation.

edit: protip, if you engage a warrior and see him charging up ‘pin down’ spam qeqeqeqe or whatever you have bound your strafing to, since the projectile hits the spot you would have been if you countinued moving in that direction

you dont even need to flank, dude. your longbow aoe stun is as huge as a cap point itself. tbh, i dont understand why you have access to all these interrupts and stuns. hambow is an ez mode invention just like MM’s and PU mesmers. and the number of people playing such builds shows how easy it is for beginners.

Btdubs hambow is used so much due to it having amazing point control. Just build your build against it if you’re having that much trouble with it.

Why nerf Healing signet? It’s in a good place right now.

Axe/GS builds are still great for roaming, thieves are still better for this in pvp tho.

Warriors don’t really have much immunity. Only time you’ll see immunity on a warrior is for 10s if they’re traited. If you procing their trait then you’re obviously doing enough damage to get them to 25% so I don’t see any problems. Just save your cooldowns for when there stances drop.

You never noticed how they get back up when your both downed, so they can stomp you? lol

I wouldn’t go 20 into defense for that build due to the bursts on those 2 weapons sets. I’d invest it into arms or strength.

Most bunker warriors have pretty high mobility, so you could roll one of those.
You can run a condi bunker or a power bunker.
I usually run condi bunker when I bunk. Here’s what I run:

Traits:

6 – V, VIII, IX
6 – V, IX, XI

Weapons:
Sword/Warhorn
(Sigil of Corruption/Sigil of Earth)
Longbow
(Sigil of Energy or Sigil of Doom/Sigil of Earth)

For PvP go with a soldier’s rune or zerker’s rune for Hambow and I’d say a mix of PvT and zerk armor for the WvW build.

Here I was thinking it meant the builds are the most prolific at a given moment. Prove the builds are that and I’m sold on the notion. Show me the extent of this “profession community” and you might sway me to believe that the builds being meta is probable. Attempt to convince me there’s no alternative to your build choices through argument and maybe change my way of thinking.

As for a passerby or a poster drawing judgment from this thread, why would I care? I offered up some suggestions for the OP. If the stars align just right and I’m browsing the forums while someone else asks for similar advice, I might just post again.

But really dude…you just don’t get it. These builds are called meta, because the MAJORITY of the profession’s community agrees that they are the most viable atm.
Take this thread as an example 3 out of the 4 people agree upon the same builds. Now, if you were new to a profession would you choose the build that 1 single guy posted or the one that 3 other people said is really good?

And no, we don’t have a wiki for it, but we have forums for it. Many of these meta builds come from a guild that runs dungeons daily (DnT). Their builds are shared through the forums by the community. Hence the reason why 3 people, including myself, have stated that these builds are the meta.

For PvP, you could run Hambow.
Hambow is great for point control and team fights. (Don’t listen to those people that say Hambow is for terribads. I use it sometimes and I’ve been playing warrior since beta!)

Actually…you’re wrong. Greatsword is great for 1 v 1’s, it’s a great gap closer and on top of that rush hits like a truck. You can say it’s not viable, but it’s absolutely viable in a power set. The sets you posted are condi builds and if you’re trying to use a greatsword in a condi build then you’ve gotta be pretty bad…

Condition builds in general are gonna be broken as hell after the patch!

You were probably called a noob because….

1. You didn’t let the enemy bleed off point.
2. You took too long winning a 1 v 1 and ended up losing the lead. (Never fight a bunker 1 v 1 unless you can dispatch them quickly)
3. Your team ended up losing a point and getting wiped b/c you didn’t rotate for them.

There’s a lot more reasons you could have been called a noob. Remember tpvp is about being a team, no one cares if you can win a 1 v 1.

axe+shield/greatsword and hammer/greatsword(which is one of the best 1 v 1’s for warrior atm) are great for 1 v 1’s….please qq about warriors somewhere other than the forums, maybe a nice quite corner

It’s an AoE blowback bud, your personal shield shouldn’t protect someone else from an AoE attack. It only blocks attacks for you, so just stomp the guy yourself…

Assuming he’s a warrior main class, definitely have him run hammer/longbow.
Hammer/longbow is one of the best builds for team fights and is decent at holding and capping points.
Personally, I don’t run a soldiers amulet when I run the build b/c it has mediocre damage output.

I run 10/0/30/0/30 for hammer/longbow, with a Beserker amulet, and Hoelbrak runes.
I use a Superior Sigil of Force in my hammer (will be using Superior Sigil of Fire after the patch) and a Superior Sigil of Hydromancy or Energy on my longbow.

First trait line: “Great Fortitude”
Second trait line: N/A
Third tait line: “Dogged March”, “Cleansing Ire”, “Merciless Hammer”
Fourth trait line: N/A
Fifth trait line: “Signet Mastery”, “Destruction of the Empowered”, “Burst Mastery”

Healing Skill: “Healing Signet” or “Healing Surge” (Totally preference)
Utility Skills: “Balanced Stance”, “Dolyak Signet”, “Endure Pain”
Elite Skill: “Signet of Rage”
