Sophea Sladorian – Charr Ranger – [DECM] | Sea of Sorrows
Sophea Of Elements – Human Elementalist – [DECM] | Sea of Sorrows
My current sPvP build is 100% crit chance sword/sword for 33% chance to bleed minor trait + sigil of earth. Can apply 3 bleeds per auto attack (not including final thrust).
Shatterstone, switch to lighting while casting, lightning 2 and 3. Or switch to earth and use earth 2 second effect if you have the shield already on you. Or arcane skills. But this skill default vun last 15sec and can be cast strait after its finished, 15sec/2 ~ 7time in 15 seconds, 7 × 4 = 28 with a cap of 25 so you can spam this whilst the other 4 guys in your group lay down 25% more damage.
If you don’t go into Defense then all you really lose is some hp and some healing power, 300 is not much if you ask me.
Anet will not put toughness and vitality on the same trait line because they are major stats. Each line has 1 major stat and 1 minor, such as Power with Condition Damage, and Precision with Crit Damage. These trait lines are different for each profession, e.g. elementalist gets Toughness with Condition Damage. There are 4 major stats and 5 minor, so over the 5 trait lines you have to have; Power Precision, Toughness and Vitality. Mixed into these you need; Condition Damage, Critical Damage, Boon Duration, Healing Power, Boon Duration. So each class has a different mix + a bonus stat in the 5th Trait line relative to their class, warriors for e.g. have Burst Damage increase. It wouldn’t be fair to put Toughness and Vitality on the same tree, and Boon Duration and Healing on the other, that would make for some crazy builds.
If you did in fact mean move Toughness with Boon Duration and Vitality with Healing you will kick banners to the curb a bit. You would get the extra healing for your shout build, but banner builds would miss out on a lot of extra duration on their regen. One way to fix this would be to put banners on the defense tree with our changed boon duration and leave shouts with swapped healing on tactics. This would also be unbalances as tank builds could take, healing shouts, and regen banners with 2 shouts and 1 banner giving them sustained regen and 2 extra heal skills (3 from use shake it off on 2 conditions trait)
As I stated above, unless your going for absolute maximum heals, 300 healing wont do too much for you unless you want to use mace or hammer. The Tactics line does have some goodies in it though, free invulnerability (endure pain at 25% hp) good to keep you up a little longer while you wait for your shouts. Free stun break / invulnerable to stuns (balanced stance on cc) and extra 200 defense on movement impaired.

This is my current build for sPvP and tPvP. I use it to immobilize my foes for great durations, then stack up the bleeds. It has 100% crit chance in Sword/Sword with a very high uptime.
Crit: 70% base + 10% trait + 20% furry on immobilize and elite.
Immobilize for multiple sources (sword and axe 3 cripple with 1 sec imob, throw bolas, and sword burst).
Throw bolas and axe 3 are horrid at hitting anything, so I like to start in sword, charge, then sword 3, if that hits → throw bolas, use sword 4 then axe 3 and 5 to fill adrenaline. Switch back to sword and flurry the bleeds onto then. With the sigil and trait, theirs a high chance to get up to 15 or 20 bleeds from your 100% critical flurry.
This build is power house, so I don’t have to much survivability, you may notice the endure pain. I was thinking of dropping 10 from tactics to get 10 in defense for 25% increased duration of stances.
I know I use an axe, that has no bleeds on it but I can keep 4-6 staked from auto attack, then drop a large amount with 90% crit on whirling axe. A rifle would also go well with this build, and I have been considering it over dual axes to get some range and bleeds. Rifle 3 is also a cripple and would work in place of axe 3 cripple.
In tPvP I run this build with a support ele to cap mid point and to fight off 3 or 4 foes. The ele keeps me alive while I pile on the damage. In structure this is a fun build to run 1 vs 1 but more then 1 enemy is quite a hard fight due to low survival

I have no problem with thief downed state personally, I just don’t try to finish them, instead I auto attack twice to stack 4-8 bleeds the use leap when the teleport to follow them and then down, unless I know they can stealth, then I just keep auto attack or fight someone else while my bleeds finish them.
@WBL, lost the ability to quote again.
Elementalist can self res once with Glyph of now useless renewal whilst in fire (?) to res a team mate from downed and give themselves a 30 sec if I die I res moment. If there was a ranger nearby his elite could have got the Ele up, same goes for a warrior. Also the ele could have tagged everyone in the area and one of them may have died. But to see 3 reses in a row from a Ele is quite wierd, I play one myself and only ever get up if I can mist form, double dodge out of battle then try to self rally, have a teammate ninja res me or get a rally from a defeated foe.
FIRE
Bountiful Power
Deal 2% more damage for each boon on you.How often do you have 5 boons on you? 4? 3?
Armour of Lyssa. If the 2% was buffed then for 5 seconds you would do some silly damage. 2% x 9 boons = 18% extra damage for 5 seconds. And normally, high regen, high swiftness, vigor on cantrips etc etc. Its not good if your not stacking boons, but reasonable if you are.
You could use an invisible bag, switch your backpack to slot 2 and put an “invisible” bag their. It will never be affected by compact or deposit and will nicely store your weapons and other things you need. The idea for weapons swap out of combat is a good one, I would like to see it for gear and traits as well, allowing me to be in pvp and quickly change my build from fun to torny.
The meteor show last after the cast if cast for full duration. Otherwise if you break it halfway it will not last as long. This is the same for rangers longbow 5 aoe cripple move and allows the move to be interrupted if you can find the caster
B) People around me never use combo fields I throw out. The auto attacks aren’t bad, but the fact I can drop a lava font that’ll continue to deal damage as I return to attacking makes me cast that anytime it’s not on CD and that’s just example 1. Why does no one else make use of the fact I always throw out combo fields?
My friend runs a support staff build, I run a condition / supportish / survival build in sPvP. I find his combos very useful, dragons tooth, he drops fire / water field, then I throw my phoenix at it and earthquake into churning earth teleport. With fire that’s between 10 to 15 stacks of might affecting a churning earth.
Obviously that’s a PvP situation, but even in pve with my ranger or warrior I’ll at least use the fields for charge shields where possible, and the coordinated stomp heal. However I have noticed that people around just do their own thing and ignore the fields. Playing with someone over skype or vent is the best way to get your combos effective though.
Sword / Sword is good for bleed condition damage. My PvP build atm is axe / axe + sword / sword with sigil of earth and 70~% crit (90~% with high up time fury). 60% bleed chance on crit + 33% (trait) bleed chance on crit and you can apply up to 3 bleeds per auto attack and keep 6 stack with axes that have no bleed moves.
lol, not to mention that your now in combat with that deer in the distance as well
Air 1 with high crit chance and damage (lighting strike or flame burst) on critical are great. I don’t use air 1 in my current build often, usually RTL with 2 and 3 during then updraft as most people probably do, then either switch back to my conditions or water if needing heal. If I’ve used everything else then I’ll lightning 1. I don’t find it bad, its just not in my current build.
Mist Form Flagging
Any Combo: Requires Mist Form onlySitation: PvP
This is also good with Earth Barrier as it can be cast during flagging, or even before. Mist for is better if your of low health of course.
Another vs downed strategy vs those pesky thieves: Requires scepter main hand
On downing a thief, switch to lightning and auto attack. When the thief teleports your lightning with automatically move to his new position. Works best when you have another person going in for the kill.
General strategy for sPvP. Target an enemy that you see chillaxin in the distance. If they look like they are going to assault your position from a flanking location and go behind a wall or something where you cant see, keep them targeted. Smash auto attack and you will see either Line of Sight or Obstructed appear on your screen. That error appears above their head in the direction they are, if you can guess there distance then you know where they are. Helpful for knowing when that enemy is going to come around the corner.
I think duration in PvE is good, especially if vs bosses or champions and no one esle is bleeding. However from a PvP point of view there are so many condition removals that I think getting the higher damage out for a shorter time might be better. Or just staking both :p
Just my thoughts.
OP dps ele, meet my backstab thief.
Unfortunately this is true. With 5K steal, steal stealth’s, then 10K backstab, you’ve got very little time to even heal. This is what destroyed my ele power crit build all the time. Its fine if you see the thief coming and smash your aoes but if he goes by unnoticed then you are buggard.
I’m surprised its not, feather fall, reduce fall damage by 50%. Feather Fall bug: feather fall actually increases fall damage by 50%. :p.
I too was surprised that mist form doesn’t help and ride the lightning fly’s you forward and down, which has hurt me more then just jumping down from the original height would have lol (falling into a bigger valley the cliff face below).
All of the following are for PvP. Don’t play my ele out of PvP atm. They could be used in PvE but I haven’t tried them in that fashion.
x/D Combo = Updraft, Churning Earth, Lightning Flash
Situation = PvP vs melee, already engaged in combat. Used to get those bleeds stacked
Explanation = Stuck in combat with a melee? Wanna get those bleeds off? Churning earth to risky? Reduce your risk of interrupt here. Start with updraft and immediately switch to earth. Start churning earth and as the melee guy gets closer lightning flash behind him (whilst still casting churning earth), confusing him and allowing yourself to gain all the benefits.
Staff comboish tactic = Staff chill field ( I don’t play staff ele, this is my friends tatic) Glyph of lesser ele, Elite glyph of ele
Situation = Fighting vs melee
Explaination = Switch to water for your ridiculous buffs, then summon both water elementals. They say the do damage and heal you, that’s not all, they also drop a chill field. They do this intelligently, 1 will drop the field, and after the field has finished the second will drop his field, then you can drop yours for 3xchill fields. This allows you to camp the field and annoy those pesky thieves.
S/D Combo = Ride the lightning, Arcane Bolt, Arcane Wave, Cleansing Fire, Updraft
Or = Ride the lightning, arcane bold, arcane wave, arcane power, scepter lightning 1 2 3, updraft -> x
Situation = assaulting a group or burning down 1 foe
Explanation = Use your ride the lightning to get up close and personal, as it ends and you can use your skills again Press slot 7,8,9 at the same time then up draft out of there for quite a bit of aoe, single target and condition damage. Works best when full specked for power/crit damage. You can also replace cleansing fire with arcane power and hit 7 and 8 then 9, then lightning 1->2 and 3 (during lightning 1) then updraft and continue with whatever you want next.
Arcane skills and cantrips can be cast at anytime, even during other things. The same is for scepter lighting skills 2 and 3. I like taking advantage of that, putting on a lot of damage then updraft away with the enemy knocked down and in the blind state if he tries to follow.

The weapon swapping sigils have a 9 sec cd, as mentioned above. I have tested the ones (in PvP) that don’t list a cool down, such as life steal on next hit after swapping, and it does not seem to work. On my warrior, on weapon swap you get a necrotic bite looking buff that says next skill will steal some health. However on trying with my elementalist there is no such buff when swapping -weapons- attunements nor do I gain any health. This test was conducted against the warrior in PvP area after he had attacked me at least once.
This is also the case for the Trait: Arcane Retribution, gain Arcane Power at 75% hp, not just the skill. The trait will activate, last a few seconds or 1 sometimes 2 crits. Unless intend to be a weaker version of the slot skill, however the tool tip does say: gain Arcane Power, not gain next 2 attacks in 5 sec critical
Laughing at a thief or warrior running away from my elementalist in combat due to them being chicken and having wasted their 1 trick, to only watch them die as my 15 stacks of high damage bleeds kills them.
I also laugh when ride the lightning bugs out for its full duration
Make an international channel from gw1 lol. Seriously though don’t come to Darkhaven during Aussie hours, not to sure about peak time but we usually need to convince members of our guild to fill the last spot, that’s usually a bad idea as a lot of them just like WvW and don’t sPvP at all.
my suggestion is to offer points to those holding nodes as well, my buddy cna hold a node for awhile against another tema long enough for help to arrrive, but since he is on the point the whole time and not specced to dish oout tons of burst. rarely does he get alot of points via kills, and if the node never gets challenged he is stuck with 10+win bonus compared to a zerg team that can get 200+glory for a loss, since you get so many points for the kill.
… please reward bunkers and support players as much as high burst glass cannons ….
Arenanet have said that they were looking into this which is good news, I have 2 defense characters atm and get bugger-all kills and points.
i can only say hey man its all good you won the match for us so many times before i out rank him by 5-7 ranks because i am specced for damage and he is specced for durability…we understand the trade off, but rewarding the zerg over point control is not what SPVP is supposed to be about.
Try defending the point with him, or getting him to call for you when in trouble. If he does some damage and you kill the foe he should get some points. Me and my friend do this when I’m running my damage spec, his support build follows me to cap points and he keeps my butt alive while a kill the enemy.
You are right though, every match I played the other day was all zerg feast 2012. My support friend has also decided to just get into the fight in the middle to get more points. Mean while that enemy team that was zerging ends up winning cause our team joined in the massive fight and 1 member of their team back capped everything
One of the following:
I did have a write up with reasoning behind all points but pressed backspace without the window selected, noob moment.
To me I see quickness only as a problem vs new players. If you can get out of it then your usually facing a foe with less abilities left then you (pointing the finger at power builds that pop everything then quickness+x). Helping new players by telling them how to avoid such moves would also be helpful, instead of just saying L2P orL2 dodge.
It doesn’t really bother me if I am moved to the other team, still get similar glory to if I was on the other team 15 less or something.
I fought an Ele in a 2v1 (in my favor) battle multiple times and couldn’t take him down, even when I was playing as a thief.
Was the Ele’s name Luilas? His ele is pretty buff, I normally watch him fighting in a 1 v 2 or 1 v 3 and not dying. Which is ridiculous since he only has 14k hp.
Thief stealthing when downing my warrior and ranger, especially when my hammer (warrior downed 2, knockdown) goes through where they are standing an doesn’t hit them. Moa is also a bit ridiculous. The rest I don’t mind too much, guardian full heal is an elite ability I believe, if they could do it all day long it would be overpowered, though I would like it to only affect them, not everyone around.
If you are dying to quickness + x then you are probably running a glass cannon build. Most warriors running quickness + bulls + hundred blades + whirl usually run off not even injuring me. Previously I ran a warrior axe + axe / axe + shield with 20 power, 20 pres, 30 crit damage trees and hit like a truck, but felt like a china doll when getting attacked. My new build hits like a feather but can hold off 3 people for a good 30 seconds, even a minute in some cases and can usually drop on of them in that time.
1 minute is 3 (almost 4) x 4k heals (heal signet with 16 sec cd) and 3 × 4k heals + 2 × 2k heals (shouts with 20 and 24 cd). I also have around 1k heal on weapon swap (life steal) every 10 seconds.
Thats:
Which is a total of 22k self heal + 18k group heals over a minute.
I only have around 20k hp but a hell of a lot of armour + auto endure pain at 25%. When using banners over shouts I have a constant 300 to 700 hp per second regen with 12k over a minute heal if needed (that drops me to 300hp per second due to heal sig being on cd so I don’t use it unless absolutely necessary). There are many ways to combat hundred blades and heart seeker builds. Try building something other then pure damage.

I normally fight 2 thieves at a time, they are so silly :p. I agree it is difficult to get vengeance out and the 1 KD is annoy when there are multiple foes about. The reason I get it out more often is that I engage 1 thief in a fight, about 3 seconds later there is a second one downed that I didn’t even notice was in the fight to start with. After that me and the original thief biff a bit, he downs me with no hp left, disappears to heal and comes back to finish me where I proceed to KD at the last viable second usually giving me enough time to vengeance. Why? I’m a warrior, if you go down with me I will win most of the time, so they run away to heal.
Last night I was showing off my build at my friends house in sPvP. There were 5 thieves on the enemy team and me + 3 thieves and a Mesmer on mine. It was spin + fear = kitten, watch 4 thieves run off with less then half hp.
In a non thief 2v2 or 1v2 situation you usually can’t get vengeance out. But look at Ranger or Ele. Ranger 1 daze though I have notice it hit multiple people if they are stack on each other. Their 3 skill is call pet to heal you, excellent in pve, hardly useful in pvp. I normally daze then just let them kill me to res. Eles 3 excellent in pvp, used way less then warriors 3 due to not being able to keep them off you.
As to thieves, when they go invisible smash auto attack. I use axe, axe and its auto attack is an aoe so if they get in front of you they will get hit out of cloak. As to downed skills, warriors are much better then elementalist. Eles have only have immobilize and by the time it starts the enemy is on you finishing you off, most of the time my ele has no chance at rallying or using mist form. Warrior can KD one guy and then a lot of the time use vengeance. If you have the quickness trait on 25% enemy health and it hasn’t proced yet then you can down them and double speed finish them within that 4 seconds.
As far as I know it is. If you want to pull off self combos you’ll have to use it. But a lot of the warrior attacks are finishers. If you look at elementalists, they have a lot of combo fields but not many combo finishers, and trying to combo Fire field with Earth blast is annoying till you get a hang of it.
Well, if you want max damage: Zerker Amulett + 30/30/0/0/10 traits and d/d with arcane blast + arcane wave as utilitys… but you will die really fast with this specc.
Elementalist isn’t that good at running full glass cannon.
I run s/d but this is basically my build, can’t remember if the jewel is the same but I have around 14 hp and 68 crit damage + all that power. My armour runes are +crit + crit damage.
Elite elemental + Arcane blast + Arcane wave + Arcane Power and which I swap out for mist every now and then due to the high crit rate already.
All arcane moves can be done whilst channeling or doing another action, and from memory I think you can pop them whilst in mist form.
I deleted my Ele, not cause I don’t like the class, but I needed the slot to try guardian. My guardian is getting deleted so I can recreate my Ele. I will be full glass cannon ele again and will be trying to sPvP group with my staff support Ele friend. He doesn’t die very often an puts out a good amount of healing and regen. Not to mention 3 chill fields in a row that just ruin a thieves day. The 2 of us usually dual cap, atm I roll with my ranger but I can get much better damage out of my crazy Ele build. Fighting against most thieves even in 1v1 it ends at me on about half hp and them in their downed invisible state. As soon as they reappear its smash lighting auto attack and then dragons tooth them when they teleport.
Warriors I have a bit more trouble with, especially ones in vitality and defense, my build doesn’t focus to much on conditions.
There is gambling in GW2 already. I found a heart/event? where you had to train with the cows. The quest guy turned you into a cow and you did the event. Once it finished they had cow races and you could put down 25 silver on a cow to win.
I play in Darkhaven, the pvp is giving me a lot of fun because its hard and I barely experience any queues. The only issue i´m having is waking up every morning to find our score at +10, when there is a server with +680. Night capping is really pissing me off… but when I play at night its a lot of fun and well balanced, even tho we´re hardly winning… but we can hold off some keeps and stuff and it is very fun. Last night we took a keep for my guild and held it for 6 hours, until went to bed and woke up to find it lost along with the entire map.
Are you American? I know there some Aussies on Darkhaven, possibly you could create a night-watch with some of them. I’m currently focused on pve but once I reach 80 and finish the story I’m heading straight to wvw. There’s me and my clan of friends (TG) we don’t have a guild as yet, most of us are in Supremacy (SUP) which is mostly oceanic based on Darkhaven. Just ask around for guilds of different time zones and see if they are willing for night-watch alliances.
I would like the ranger to be somewhat like GW1 where you could opt out of a pet and reclaim 2 of your skill bar slots or more (generally charm and mend pet). A good idea that I just though of would be similar to how engies work. They have a tool belt that changes there F ability’s. Have charm as weapon (collar, leash, whip or bell) That controls a pet. This changes your F1-F4 to be pet controls and the weapons itself does something, changing weapons does not remove the pet. Or have charm animal as a utility skill etc..
Lothair, I assume your using River Drake (lightning one). I’ve been trying this recently in sPvP but more pet F2, wait for it to start then QZ and Rapid Fire. If your pet hits and you hit with rapid fire then they foe is gone. However last night when i was playing my pet would refuse to attack anything I targeted, one time he turned around and lightninged behind himself. With so much reliance on the pet I find the build hard to fight off multi targets and tend to lose once the pet is down or if he misses.
As to the topic, I would like to see the range reduce removed. While it adds positioning to the weapon its just annoying in PvP. Start with bow, once all your cd’s are used might as well swap out. In PvE I use the bow exclusively, don’t like changing to much, the other weapons aren’t to my liking. My second set is sword warhorn for speed buff and birds, I also use this in PvP but find sword a little unpredictable to my liking so usually stay in longbow. I know this probably makes me a bad player but meh. I might try out shortbow/longbow power/condition build next.
With the rangers pets in their current unpredictable F2 state I’m gonna be playing Ele or Warrior in PvP mostly.
I’ve been hunting in RL before, weapon of choice high poundage re-curve bow. You just have to make the kill in 1 shot or you can lose your game. Side arm: pig sticker. Some of my friends take a hand gun as well as their compound bow when hunting boar, but only to shoot it in worst case “you hurt me, I’m going to kill you mode”.
My definition of a Ranger – Rangers of the North
The Hunt For Gollum – LOTR Prequel Part 1
(edited by Moderator)
My ele class has about 14k hp, still don’t get pestered to much by thieves, they’re usually downed before I am, them instant cast at any time arcane skills.
My Krytan Drake-hound is named after my hearty wolf from gw1 (haven’t found a wolf yet) Sir Barkalot.
… Pets will not be useful until all the four problems I mentioned before have been adequately solved:
1. Homing in on target.
2. Attacking while moving.
3. F2 executing right away AND while moving.
4. 75% AoE damage reduction so pets last longer than 2 seconds.…
I mean, none of these things are actually upgrades or boosts, they don’t make Rangers more powerful, they just make our mechanic work as it should work …
It will make us much more powerful, or pets will actually do something useful and increase pvp ranger damage. We will be able to fear people on que, lightning or flame someones face off, instead of the useless air where they were. MORE POWER!!!!
… Many times I will have my pet on passive so that he doesnt run off into the enemy pack in Wv3. I will get into closer combat with a target where I would like my pet to get in on the action but I have to move my mouse over the action bar and click it…this is not a great way to have to play in higher levels of pvp. …
A small work around, if you want him to attack what you are then press F1, that will leave him passive when the thing dies but still gets him in on the action. I do agree with pet aggressive/passive button requiring a hotkey. I think it was F3 in the betas, which is now retreat. Rangers should have F1-F5 with F5 being aggro/pass
Last would someone explain the use of a long sword? I mean I understand the usefullness it has with the tallents you gain from it, but couldn’t these tallents be used elsewere in other weapons? I have never seen a huntsman, Ranger or otherwise use a great sword. They are hunters not warriors. Has anyone known of a Ranger using a Long bow and Great Sword together? Its always been short swords, or daggers that way they have room to carry their bow. Their bow is their strength not the sword.
Aragorn son of Arathorn wielder of Anduril, Ranger of the North and King of Men? He might be one.
Look at Rangers of the North (lotr) in general, not just Strider. Bow, Spear, Shield and sword and if you count them night times you might see them using a torch. They also wear heavy armour lol.

My friend played a support staff elementalist and kept getting ripped apart by heart strike thieves. So I created a quick Ele for sPvP and made a pure glass cannon build, 14k hp and all. I got him to run the same build but he took a different accessory and had 20k hp and less crit damage. In a 1v1 battle we basically drew, I was the victor but had so little hp left that it was a downed fight to the death.
There was one match that we were in on the same team that all the enemies were Thieves bar a Warrior and Mesmer. They had 4 thieves on 1 point, both of us opened up on 2 different ones and the all vanished. We were like what the hell and then they reappeared downed lol, so squishy. Neither of us were less then half hp, was so fantastic. I put the build up against a tanky warrior and we drew 3 times, him being the victor in the downed war due to vengeance + finish and elementalist lack of downed interupt. And hundred blade warriors were never a threat. That ele build is my for fun pvp character.
My friend has refined his original build and can keep chill field up for a fair while allowing him to kitten heart strike thieves. He plays all his pvp builds in pve as he lvls so he can get used to the skills and combos that he will be using in tPvP.

I will randomly pick up a banner when looting, cast all the buffs then drop it. Sometimes I intentionally pick them up to beat enemies over the head with them.
2 sec cd on hundred blades, goodbye dual axes in sPvP, hello OPness!
PvP: Bulls charge -> hundred blades, bolas -> hundred blades, stomp -> hundred blades. That guy lived somehow, chase him into the ground with rush on 5sec cd.
PvE: Rush with 5 sec cd, mounts no longer requested by players, greatsword warrior is now most selected class to play.
Seriously though, I assume your using GS for the damage. Have you tried dual axes, i believe they are more damage overall and the 5 skill is the bomb. Greatsword was much more powerful in the betas but i think that the axes trumps it now. I know that swapping weapons is annoying, especially when you like the look or power of one. This happens to my ranger, I just auto attack things to death while I wait for my skills to cool down.
Re reads OP and realizes that most of what I said is irrelevant lol.
I do believe your making yourself more of a kitten if you don’t take advantage of weapons swaps as there are sigils you can get that give you good bonuses on weapons swap

This idea was discussed in the Beta events. People wanted weapon swapping on F2, F3 and F4, which was followed by a rant about OPness. The game was designed for 2 weapons with exceptions of eles and engies. GW1 was good that it gave you 4 weapon swaps on F1 – F4 but it didn’t determine your skills and was mainly used to swap runes and insignias(?), for me at least.
I see the warrior mechanic to be not as cool as some of the other classes and have discussed the idea of F1 to F3 being burst moves where F1 is a buff for 1 bar, F2 a move encompassing main and off hand for 2 bars and F3 as is and I see this as a better direction for the class.
Three weapons for a “weapon master” class would be good to see but I don’t think many would use it and would complicate the class. When I play ele I rarely use earth and water unless going support then I rarely use fire and air. I believe the warrior class should remain easy to understand but harder to master as many players play within their comfort zone on entering a new game. That comfort zone is generally Human for race and Warrior for prof/class as their first character unless something has caught there eye.
Slasher Sladorian – Charr Warrior, first character in beta weekends and at release, unfortunately not main.
Thats my 2 cents, like it or hate it either way, see you on the battlefield!
I had a warrior try bulls rush my Ele, he mustn’t have had auto target on cause he went flying off into the distance and hundred bladed nothing.
Also, wait just long enough then updraft the bulls charge. Or mist form, move back drop mist form and gain 50% increased damage.
Go to the heart of the mists and got to the underwater part and set your pets and skills there.
They used to in GW1, you charmed a wolf or something and depending on how you battled with it, it would grow. I had a hearty wolf and it was taller then my Warrior / Ranger. There was also elder, dire and some others. The growing would change there stats
SLOOWWW DOWN!
And you’ll be like KITEN YOU and kick her in the face with your POWER LEGS
More seriously. I like my ranger, got her to 40ish. Pet can be buggy but overall I have enjoyed it. I also suggest warrior and elemenatlist.
Drake at lvl 40 is silly. lightning breath (F2) just rolls everyone. I normally just gather while telling him to annihilate the area, although he has his problems, mainly with the 5 second cast on lightning breath and its always failingness.
