Ive noticed that 2 will have names if you have one selected and the other is the real one, or if you are close to them sometimes this happens. It does get easier to notice the real one, every now and then it confuses the cat out of me and I will likely lose that battle.
Ive got 5 screens just like that one, 2 on my friends computer when I was showing him my toon, 1 at another friends house (again, showing him my toon) and 2 on my home PC

Deselect target. The real mesmer is the one with his name above his head, the others are decoys.
Edit: Also when the mesmer does his invisible thing and a clone appears, the real mesmer will reappear shortly after with the stealth animation (weird smoke looking stuff around them)
Look at the Warhorn traits, convert conditions with warhorn. The conditions become their opposite and it removes entire stacks. So bleed and fire become regen, cripple, chill and imob become swiftness, fear becomes stability, weakness might I think.
Thats 2 conditions, then there is auto shake it off + shake it off for 4 (6 with soldiers runes). And soldiers runes will net you 2 more removals (from your other 2 shouts). There is also another 2 from heal.
Mind you building that way is more a bunker build and if you want to be balanced or damage then you rely are between a hard rock and a hard place
Well to be fair, a BS Thief will press at the very least 9 buttons in under 3-5 secs just to get one kill, assuming their target doesn’t move in a way to throw them off. Also, they can only do that once a minute.
Basilisk Venom -> Assassin’s Signet -> Cloak & Dagger -> Move behind you and Steal -> Backstab -> Heartseeker -> Heartseeker (You’re down, but not out.) -> Any stealth spell -> Stomp.
Please explain how this kill isn’t earned? The thief just used his only profession skill (that he trait-ed for to do damage), 2 (or 3 if his stealth is also one) of his “5-10” slot spells, and a large majority of his initiative. If any class uses this many spells and gets them off, you should be dead.
Try out an elementalist, 9 skills in 3 seconds, I wish. 9 Skills to down someone, possibly, haven’t run glass cannon damage before. My problem is that I’m not a glass cannon build, I’m a glass bunker build against thieves only. Have no troubles with the other classes, thieves just destroy you if you don’t pick it up fast enough.
BTW if your stealth render issue was fixed I wouldn’t care. ATM it is buff buff c&d steal backstab (should unstealth but no) hearseeker (still stealthed) heartseeker (still stealthed) I’m either downed or kiting for my life, then I see you and gone. Your either leaving because I got out of it, or your downing me invisible.
Churning Earth is the same cast time.. always, just dodge it, no mater where we teleport to, just time the dodge. I’m simply amazed everytime I actually hit someone with the skill 1v1. In group fights its a different story because not everyone is paying attention to your casting animations, they are just trying to avoid any red rings they see.
You can also watch the animation where we just left and to tell when it will go off. Also most eles (well I do, don’t know about other eles) try to use teleport at the last second. I like using CE to cover the point so they leave, then either cancel it or teleport after them, followed by an immobilize then updraft, to keep them out of the point.
I play tPvP with my friend. Why, not because I want to be on a losing team, but because our guild is full of WvWers who came from Aion as a PvP guild and wont play sPvP because they cant have a cheese grater helmet. We play tPvP because it is 5v5 not zerg v 6. SPvP is now us 2 trying to get the other 2 points while our zerg loses to their zerg because they are 2 players down and don’t care for the objective capture. End result, we get less glory and have a hard time trying to offset the enemies 1 point + 5 points per second from killing our team.
We play tPvP because it is more fun, and whilst we have only won 2 (came first) tourney of the 10 or so we have played, it was much more fun then trying to fend off 8 people who are running at your point and you trying to get out of that chaos to go cap the point they just left.
Our guild has 2 others who want to play sPvP but we don’t have a 5th perm so 1 hardly ever logs on and the other plays WvW till we can get a full team. Those are the only 2 from our guild we would be willing to take into “paid tourneys” (free we don’t really care about, would make them better at the game) because no one else in the guild even knows how to get to sPvP (I mean, come on, its the easiest way to traverse in PvE, how can you not know how to get there).

Met some good guys in spvp last night, prob was they were all eles, and while I don’t care of the the team composition a 5 ele party seems a little silly lol. The people leaving as well is quite an upset, vsed a opposing team with 3 guys. I don’t think rank level means dittily squat in this game. Sure a rank 1 character will be out matched if he is new. If he has 2 accounts then well he could be rank 30 or 40 on his other account.
Also I have played the same amount of games as my friend and he is way higher rank then me because I do the objective (cap the point and defend = boring and no glory) and he just gets into the 1v3 fights and lasts till someone comes and kills everyone for him. At the end of the fight he will have almost double they glory I got.

Back on topic of stun breaks not working whilst getting knockbacked or blown up. I find that on my ele I can use cleansing fire to stand straight up after a knockback. When downing gardians I try to use it the moment they use their downed skill, thus not moving but still having my flag interrupted. I like to think that I have fast reflexes but that is a horrible lie and I couldn’t tell you if the stun break works whilst in the air. I know that it works the moment you are knockback (the moment right after the skill hits) and I know that it works when you are face down in the dirt.
Stability is not a stun break unless the skill also says breaks stuns.
u lose 1 ticket every map, means if u win whole tourni u lose 3 tickets, if u lose on 1st map u lose only 1 ticket, problem solved

To down with an ele you have to blow one of your cd’s or trait into 2 sec stability on switch to earth (earth grandmaster trait). Stability is grated by our 90sec cd armour of earth. Or the more ridiculous one mist form (75sec cd), then the elite cancel for 25ish seconds of stability.
I don’t get it that bad. My ping is up in the hundreds most definitely. If ever I’m downloading anything at the same time the responsiveness of this game becomes 0 and you will do flips and cats.
I can tell you that having a ping in the 100s is fun. If you try to vapor form away from someone by going over a cliff and landing at the bottom, they can down you from the top of the cliff out of line of sight. I assume on their client I am at the top of the cliff. Just like when you get shot in the head in cod and watch the replay and you were (on your screen) no where near where they shot you (on their screen).
When I run with scepter dagger I usually switch out clerics for shaman, giving me a nice amount of condition damage (weakens my other skills a bit). I also carry 1 of each amulets on my current dagger dagger build. I switch the appropriate amulet for each occasion. If someone doesn’t dodge my churning earth in a fight and doesn’t hurt me too much the second fight I’ll chuck in carrions to ruin their day.
I like the idea of the target symbol being removed from line of sight. Would be hard to implement though. Thieves and mesmers can remove the target by stealthing so everyone else should be able to remove it when they are out of LOS. Saying that you can’t see it out of line sight is a different matter. You can still press T and then auto attack and your attacks will go towards the enemy. And they get a nice big Obstructed above where they are hiding.
And the rendering issue is just annoying as, lost half my health, that was a back stab, I’ll just run over here, and fight nothing, there’s no one there, just the kitten kitten kitten of a thief that could be in any direction.
I remember heroes ascent. I started playing gw1 a year or 2 late. I was like, lets try heroes ascent, now to find a team. Oh everyone is looking for people with 6+fame, bugger guess I cant play this then.
RTL + auto target = untarget foe, auto target hits a pet, you just self stunned yourself instead of getting away.
I would like an active ability when my elemental is out. Like fire = create a fire field at targets location. Air = blind nearby foes. Water = create a heal field at or water trident owners location. Earth = knock down nearby foes.
Con of cold heals you. I use it alot, nice short cd. It looks like regen healing you but it does actually heal you.

You can swap cleansing fire for amour of earth or teleport
Your main healing will be applying regen to everyone
And you burst heal is:
Eruption then switch water during then water field (gyser or healing rain) then dodge, arcane blast, dodge. You will need to be in combat for this to work, and relatively close to your allies. The first water dodge will heal, the second wont, so change to another atunement to do damage, or if you need to stay water the second dodge will still blast finish.
Also you can do this with your fire field for a high stack of might on your party. Or use it on your lightning field (air 5) for stacks of swiftness.
Switching at the right time is necessary as well, earth gives protection, water will heal (regen which also removes a condition) everyone. Air and fire are pretty meh.
Edit: there are 10 points remaining, you can get what you want for those. I would got for free amour of earth (protection stability regen and vigor) at 50%. You could also get cantrips grant might from fire.
My ele is bunker, because when I went full damage it was fun, but I could only fight 1 on 1 and this is a team game. Clearics is 13k hp not 14, recently changed to clerics amulet with knights jewel for a delicious 15k hp, nom nom nom.
Don’t know where you are going with the we can’t kill anything part, I can down warriors and thieves (glass cannons are much easier, balanced can still do but takes a bit and bunker is usually endless lol).
Clerics also gives you decent power, so we lack crit and crit damage, but gain raw damage still. My toon also carrys 1 of each amulet as that seems to be the only thing that gives you stats. So if there is a thief that can do silly things and I cant get around it → Knights, if there is a warrior who dies easily and doesn’t seem to do much damage → beserkers. If someone doesn’t remove my 8 stacks of bleeding from churning earth → carrion or shamans.
When I run S/D I don’t use final shielding, 25% endurance regen is much better for my build. I also use shamans for the healing power and condition damage.

So those eles with their final shielding. Get them to 30% hp then kill them in 1 hit, no arcane shielding. Or even hit them below 25% and then again to 0% within a second or 2 and their shield will bug out and fail.

My friend and I were lagging in wvw alot, but seemed fine in sPvP most shortly after giving up on the lag lol
Push the bunker out of the point, then uncap but don’t cap the point (it goes white and no one owns it, its a lot faster then taking the point) he will have to recap the point, buying your team some time with the other 2 points you own.
Rifle only does good damage when everyone is twiddling their thumbs and don’t realize a Warrior is there.
There’s a reason its a terrible weapon for tPvP. Everyone focus’s the Warrior/Thief/Ranger. And if that’s happening, then a rifle warrior is poop.
The only real Burst weapons are axe mainhand, greatsword.
I am going off the assumption that the OP is playing sPvP not tPvP and that he has infact only managed to fight the Heavy training dummies and not actually participated in a match. I can do x more damage than everyone else and they can only have x healing. True but if you go into an actual battle with semi confident players you will see that that 0.125 x healing is probably better then your 1 x power. Not to mention that clerics amulet gives you healing and power allowing you to heal for 2k from your dodges, 2k from changing to water and 2k from cleansing wave. That’s the same as my actually heal and happens almost as fast. And the power still allows you to hit better then a kiten.
Your point is valid though, I don’t like the gs much, but I do carry it, you can move so much faster with it.

Mhm. whats wrong with that? You think you only need to use the bleeds on the rifle for it to be useful? Berserks stance, get a nice spot where they haven’t seen you and kill shot then switch to your axe axe / axe shield. If axe axe then use skill 5 to rebuild your adrenaline then eviscerate. Or open with eviscerate, then build adren then kill shot

We had vsed a premade, me and my friend joined together (2 eles) and got put with a guardian and 2 other eles. We obliterated the first match against some premade team. Then we got obliterated in the second round by a much better premade. I can see your frustration but they have spvp for pugs atm. Its not the best solution and I would like to see a pug 5v5. What I hate is that if you join 1 of your friends then you are almost always on the opposite team when the match starts. And continued to be placed on the opposite team each match their after.
I can guess your warrior build, glass cannon warrior, prob got axe axe or axe shield and a rifle. They are pretty easy to counter. your moves are so obvious that you would need to waist your quickness to hit someone with your killshot or eviscerate. Most warriors I see coming I just pop armour of earth and stand there loling for a bit, then proceed to destroy them and any of their friends.
I’ve only seen 1 or 2 warriors that have been able to beat me in a 1 on 1. Support isn’t about the healing amount on the skill. Take a look at healing rain, no heal, provides regen. But it can be used to heal your whole team from empty to full quite quickly (look at blast finisher x4+ water field). Then there is also providing buffs for your team, same ele, same 4x blast finisher, this time fire field = 12 delicious stacks of might for your teammates.
Your point seems to be damage vs healing. Healing isn’t the only support type in this game, there is buffs, healing, protecting your guys by standing in the road of oncoming projectiles (fun with reflect on) and interrupting foes going for that finishing kill giving your guy some tie to heal up.
Then there is just control, warriors suck at control (I’m lying there btw, they can be quite good at control) but if your running full damage then you taking probably the default cripples (gun axe) and knockback of the gun maybe the stun (shield). Maybe you also have some slots in utility.
I have an immobilize that also pulls me to you (magnetic grasp), aoe cripple (churning earth), blowback (updraft) knockdown (earthquake) multiple stuns (shocking aura usually 2 stuns) chill (forgot the name lol) chill (frosty aura). All those are on my weapons, got my utilities free for whatever I want to take.
So with your low health pool I can keep you out of the fight long enough to force you to heal, then just finish you while you wait for it to come back or run away.
Magnetic grasp is another fun one, some mobs hit boxes are smaller then the mobs physical size. E.G. using magnetic grasp on something like The Mad King at point blank will immobilize him and see you getting stuck in the pull animation for its full duration.
Also Magnetic grasp in clock tower will sometimes hit people who have gone down the ramp and you will flip out for 2 seconds. I think it tests if the opponent is obstructed on cast and doesn’t check when it goes to hit.

Bottom ring of 4 buttons are attunements
Big button in the middle is heal
Foward most button and then around the top are utilities
And the button above the big one is auto run
The 2 beside left click is profile change, left right and middle are default
I usually use a mix of Shift 1234 and the corsair buttons for attunment swapping (the back buttons are hard to hit at times)
I mostly use the mouse for utility (the forward most and top button are my oh crap buttons, the one in the middle is whatever else I need and the 789 are hard to press when playing dagger dagger)

I dont live in australia :/. I live in america. I’m not sure how lag / latency will factor in if we party up :S
Unfortunately for me there are no Aus servers, I have to play on American servers, so there is always lag lol. Its noticeable every now and then, but I’m used to lagy games so it doesn’t bother me to much and this game seems to handle it fairly well
Fiery Whirl isn’t our only whirl finisher, Tornado is also a whirl finisher, for its full duration. Drop your healing rain and Tornado into it to send heals to everyone
What killed you? You killed yourself with mist form, or at least that’s what pops up to the right every time I die lol.
I’ll add my 2 cents, come live in Australia. Do you know when 12:00 PM Pacific Time/19:00 GMT on Sunday is in Australia? its Monday 5am (Queensland, earlier in Western Australia and and hour later further south of us). I don’t really care that its 5am, doesn’t bother me, that fact that it is Monday does. Most people have to work Monday here and don’t really want to get up early that morning for a video game.
I would like Anet to make events either run twice Sunday (Midnight Sat Midday Sun) that way we would be able to do 1 of them (5pm Sunday arvo) and only doing one of the events gives you the reward (I really don’t care if you still get xp, karma and gold from the event though so that could stay).
Or to have the event Midday Saturday, thus 5am Sunday here.
The BWE were the same, Friday to Monday, so Saturday arvo to Monday arvo, thus I could participate in 2 days of the 3 everyone else could unless I got the 1 or 2 week notice of the event and asked for time off, which sometimes isn’t enough notice for the boss. Same with this event, “posted about a day ago”, thanks for the notice so I could ask for the day off or a later start
Does the clock tower count towards this? I haven’t done it and I have 3 towards it (I only have 3/4 king locations btw so that will be my 4th)
Friendly fire would be annoying, you’d just have a bunch of troll players kill your own team and there’d be nothing you could do about it. War of the Roses has self damage Friendly Fire, so if the treb hit your own guys it would take damage, less realistic but would stop people from killing your own team.
The only thing that would then prevent the treb if you made it hit dodge would be invulnerabilitys and not every class can get them without certain traits or utilizes set
Would be nice for at least 1 single weapon and 2 duel weldable weapons e.g. 2 daggers, 2 swords, 2 axes, etc etc, 1 staff, 1 greatsword, 1 scepter, etc etc.
I think heart strike also moves a lesser distance whilst chilled and their uitil and elite are still effected I believe.
This has happened to me before, both teams were mostly thieves. Since the update I’ve noticed a few games with lots of eles. tPvP with me and my friend (both eles) gives us an extra ele or 2 each match (pug).

I’m also looking for some sPvP guys, our guild is full of WvW players. We’ve got about 4 constant for tPvP, and need to convince some others to play. I think they don’t like it because there is no cheese greater helms with +10 stats on everyone else available.
I’m mainly looking for a group of people to do some tourneys with that don’t care for class make up, as me and my friend wish to play together and we are both eles.
I do like the looks of this build, I’m currently running d/d (previously s/d) with 0 0 10 30 30, typical defensive build and was taking on 3 people in sPvP last night, so much fun till a thief rocked up and ruined my day, 3 balanced builds are easy to take on, 3 balanced builds and 1 pure damage is a nightmare lol.

Smashed the first match, but without voice com, found the second to be another premade and they smashed us

Difference between 60 and 120 ping, I wish. Aussie here, we fill your American servers with out dirty 500ms ping. Bet you wished you lived here now. There are plenty of us to verse if your are awake at 3am+

If you lost the round then you go to the mists.
In Pug I’ve noticed you go to the mists
And I think if your match up is still playing you will go to the mists. I.E. you won your match in 10 mins, and the other teams are still playing
I love firing the cannon at guardians, first shot passive block or warriors in shield stance. Come on, if you can block a cannon of righteous justice with a shield then I’m sure you would have some kind of internal injuries, a broken arm at least.
Some one probably left due to tourney que, or so he didn’t get a loss, cause thats such a bad thing. Also the game wont auto balance after a certain score because people were getting annoyed with being thrown onto the other team with a lose on there screen on spawn. It should auto balance below that threshold though and you normally see it quite quickly
Is there any chance of implementing daily rewards for doing s/tPvP? Everywhere else in the game you can get your daily quest (even WvW I believe). Was just wondering if there was a chance of adding a chest in PvP
It could reward lesser chest + glory or mystic forge random mat + glory.
It would require x point neutralises, x point captures, x kills and x glory earned
Would be nice to see.
QP yay, cause I don’t work 2 jobs and I can play for 24 hours straight 7 days a week. Is there any kind of consideration for us that do work 2 jobs and can’t play 24/7.
Sorry you cant be in a monthly tournament you didn’t get enough QP this month. That guy over there who’s eyes have popped out of his head, sure let him in.
I’ve played over all my characters for 159 hours since the launch of the game. My friend has played 396 hours on one of his toons since launch god knows how much over all. In theory if we both played tourneys only and won the same amount, he would have 2x (with that one toon) the QP I would get (on all my toons) and he would get into a monthly over me.
So is monthly tourneys only for those that live and breathe gw2? Or is there some consideration and fairness to those of us that would like to do monthlies and yearlies with our guild? Or should I just give up now and open a space for another member who doesn’t have a job?
I don’t believe that QP shows how good you are. If I have 1 QP, I’ve won 1 battle, if I can only play for 1 hour a day and win 100% of my battles thats 7 QP.
At the same time someone who can do 5 tourneys a day and wins all 5, he geats 35 by the end of the week. Is he better then me, probably but I can’t tell cause I’ve only played 7 games and by the time I can play 35 games he will have 175 QP (again only if he wins them all)
Pffft, please…. Try soloing the Lord with his 2 casters and soldiers in the SPVP training grounds.
Every time I try fighting there some random guy comes along and ruins my day lol. The Lord training place is quite a challenge, I can take down 2 soldiers and 1 caster at the same time, but never tried to take on the lot of them. I can also attack the lord whilst his friends rail me, get enough bleeds up then run off to heal while the bleeds almost finish him.
You can also craft tourney tickets in the mystic forge at the mists. You can get a pvp salvage kit and get components from the items in the reward chests, chuck em in, in a combination that makes a ticket (not sure of the top of my head) and out pops a ticket. Paid tourney will reward everyone attending with a copper chest, or higher grade if you win battles. Getting to the final round rewards 180 gems on win and 120? on 2nd place.
At any rate, those in paid tourneys will be good teams and a higher lvl of pvp
I should also mention that they are called paid tourneys because they require an item to enter, you don’t need to pay real money unless you run out of tickets. But even then there are ways of getting them (first place in free tourney = 1 ticket + a chance to get more in the chest). Also each pvp lvl you achieve you earn a chest of that rank and I believe they have a chance for tickets as well. And finally, you can go to the glory vendors and buy the same reward chests for glory you have earned. And did I mention the rewards you don’t need can be broken down to make tickets?, same goes for these chests.
Also look at these for your runes. Like the build btw, nice mix of power and defence
If you could sacrifice 10 points you can go 10 earth for armour of earth at 50% hp, that counts as a cantrip and gives you your buffs as well as some more protection and balance
Rune of Hoelbrak x 2 (25power + 20% Might duration)
Rune of Strength x 2 (25power + 20% Might duration)
Rune of the Fire x 2 (25power + 20% Might duration)
25-30ish seconds of might each cantrip (instead of 15sec)

Rune of the Water x 2(25 healing (meh) 15% boon duration)
Rune of the Monk x2 (25 healing (meh) 15% boon duration)
Rune of Dwayna x 2(25 healing (meh) 20% regen duration)
So 50% (15%15%20% from arcane bonus) more for boons excluding regen
Also 70% (15%15%20% + 20%(arcane bonus)) more regen duration.

Rune of Dwayna x 6 for more of a supporty build
I am going off the assumption that boon duration stats are added together then applied
E.g. 15% (gear) + 15% (gear) + 20% (acane bonus)
Not Stat + 15% = new stat +15% = new stat + 20%
As these net different results and I have not done extensive testing.
Vapor form lasts less now I believe but it is much faster any you can still dodge to gain extra distance. Downed 3 is goodish now with 8 stacks of bleed but it is up after a second or 2 after mist form and you can only get 6 of the bleeds on them before they flag you. Not complaining though, this is awesome in pvp now. I don’t think people realise you will just vapor away and still try to flag you.
