When downing a foe you can use an instant blind (or blind field) to help to prevent their interrupt.

When downing a Mesmer with 2 people, stand either side of the Mesmer from a distance to increase your chance of hitting his teleported self.

When downing an Elementalist with 2 people, 1 person starts the second waits till his arm is high in the air then he starts. The second person requires a teleport, before your down animation finishes, teleport to the eles new position and you should get him.

5v5 matches are more fun the 8v8 imo, but did you know they also exist in Hotjoin? Go to your filter, create a new filter and search for 5v5 as the game size and all maps. Name the filter 5v5, click your new 5v5 on the left and press refresh, presto 5v5 matches. Lobby for Anet to make this filter standard

Mix ups. Do you play fighting games? yes. Do you always attack high in said fighting game? yes. Does the enemy always block high? yes. Why do you think that is? Mix ups guys, for example, an elementalist using RTL, whats expected next? Updraft so will I dodge, yes. But what if he uses RTL then doesn’t Updraft? well you just lost a dodge and he can now freely updraft you.

Capping points, are you invulnerable or in stealth? Then you won’t cap or defend the point. Invulnerability is a powerful ability, but not good for capping, try not to over use it when in that bunker position

Part of playing a mesmer skillfully is knowing what phantasms and clones you have on the field, in what order you placed them down, which ones are in danger, and which ones will be replaced first. That increases the skill cap.

Not only would a change like you propose be difficult to actually use effectively since the icons would be so small, it would also be dumbing down the class, which is bad.

and you agree for what reason, exactly? is showing a mini icon of x phantasm instead of a circle will render mesmers skill less? Like really? Do some of you even think for themselves or just quote people who stream/posted multiple builds on this site with “This” as if agreeing with such a person makes you smarter and more knowledgeable? Serious question because i really don’t get it. I suggested the tiny circles change for something more visually appealing while helping you see what you have currently up, he brings the “Part of playing a mesmer skillfully” as if something as simple will render mesmers skill less and people just ‘yes i agree’ lol. Anet is already working on removing pet tags so tourneys are more appealing to watch with 150 pets running around and this is essentially the same thing except for the player and not the viewer.

I will give you a stupid example. Lets say anet forced all their players to play with a layer of vaseline (yes you heard that right!) on our monitor and i came here suggesting to remove the kitten thing so our gaemplay becomes more fluid and precise. Would this render all class require less skill because you can see more information on screen? This is essentially the same thing, the more information on screen=the better, that simple. I did not suggest something like making phantasms hit for 10k at all times but a minor tweak that has nothing to do with rendering the class ‘easy’. Last time i checked having more information isn’t exactly making things easy but improve gameplay as a whole.

If you can’t remember what skills you spammed then why should you get a freebie that say, “Hey buddy, you have some phantasms, not clones”

I play elementalist, so I have to remember 12 skill cooldowns at once (part of the class I know) and whether I’ve used them or not, I don’t get a sign that says that fire skills are off cooldown. Dumbing down classes further should not be on anyones list of priorities. Making this game skill based and less passive should be.

My opinion anyway.

I had a quick browse. Looks like some good targeting changes. Still don’t like that thieves can still stack absurd amounts of stealth, 40 second cooldown to heart seeker if it does not hit a target … yes please.

While you’re at it, could you also PLEASE look into the bug that causes Dragon’s Tooth to miss if the caster is CC’d after the tooth appears but before it falls? It’s really frustrating.

Yes, the triple price phase I call it:
1- Cast Time Phase – the actual cast time of this skill
2- Delay Phase – The fall delay of the skill
3- Dodge Phase – Dodge to avoid blind or cc/ until the tooth lands

Staff ele Tpvp build ?

Ok now i know what everyone is going to say that its not viable.. so on and so on but i just want to ask has anyone seen a good staff ele build for pvp floating around lately about 2 days ago i ran into such an ele in solo que and tbh.. this staff ele is really really and i MEAN REALLY good.. like.. it took 3 people to bring her down.. and im not even kidding here. so i wanted to check up with you guys first and ask because i would like to test this out.. if only i could see that ele again man i would ask her. I played 3 games so far with her 2 days ago and we just got pummled like we were nothing but scrap paper and she would literally wipe conditions off like it was nothing.. so my necro had like 0 effect on her.

Was it Luilas? Full white phoenix light armour, though to my knowledge Luilas does not do soloq.

It’s all in the aoe fields. Cleansing Water (5 second interal cd) + cleansing wave + Evasive arcane (water) and healing rain is a crap tonne of condition removal.

arcane wave + evasive earth dodge (or eruption) is a nice heal every 30 seconds (16 seconds for just eruption/earth dodge).

This build is a support build however, so its damage is limited as a lot of stats go into healing (over crit / crit damage) and thus it is best run with another person with you. Putting a guardian bunker on mid with a staff support ele used to be a very powerful tactic, not sure anymore (our team fell apart and me and Luilas prefer hotjoins). We usually run 2x ele, 1 burst 1 staff support. We can usually go 2v3 or even 2v4 for a while.

Edit2: Note, the res glyph can be changed for glyph of storms (blind in earth) or glyph of lesser ele (chill, burning, stun or weakness) for extra damage and control ability.

Signet of Restoration still works, it’s just not nearly as good as Ether Renewal.
The passive heal doesen’t take any time at all.
And yes, the healing signet is way more effective + the healing from the spells.
Full cleric gear is terrible.

Water 5 is about a 2.7k heal if you have 1k healing power.

Dunno who auto attacked you. Sounds like a zerker warrior. Slap them back and watch their hp drop.

Attunement swap and dodge rolling is around a 4k heal every 10 seconds with a little bit of healing power. That’s kind of a big deal seeing as how you don’t use your heal skill to get it.

You have to be in combat for dodgeroll effects to work.

No, Ether Renewal is terrible. It is four seconds long which also can be interupted so you don’t get any healing at all. And the four seconds you use to heal up you lose valuable time which you could have used for keeping up the pressure on your opponent instead. You are right about cleric gear thoug.

The point of Ether Renewal isn’t just for the heal. It’s also a massive condi clear every 15 seconds.

If you wait for a condi-necro to use their deathshroud fear and swap out of staff, then they have no other way to stop your MASSIVE heal and MASSIVE condition removal. Condition thieves can’t stop it either.

I mostly rely on the natural heals I get from water attuning, dodge rolling, dagger 5 and 2, regen, soothing mist. Ether Renewal is to help top it off.

Plus, the heal is much nicer than a 5k heal every 25 seconds or the signet.

In terms of keeping up the pressure; when I need to heal, I NEED TO HEAL. Even if I used a different heal that’s still some time wasted when I could otherwise be “keeping up the pressure.”

It’s not very versitile if you only depend on fighting ppl without interupts. And you will never be able to beat me in a duel on ele if you are going to use Ether Renival. You can’t keep enough pressure with that.

Either renewal can still apply pressure. You have Air (15 trait) as well as sceptre air 2 (air 3 for preventing interrupts), earth (15 trait if you use it) and fire (15 trait if you use it), not to mention that any of the 15 point fire, air or earth all apply poison with sigil of doom. You also have access to instant utility skills, such as arcane wave, blast and signet of air. While not as much pressure as you can get out when not healing, you can still apply some pressure. Not to mention that if you heal at the right time you can press esc or weapon stow to cancel the end of your heal (this would allow for a quick condition removal when health is full or to top up without wasting the full duration in down time). It does have a 15 second cd after all.

Funny thing about elementalists and interrupts (especially D/D) they waste them to get extra damage in. The build I run has 3 blinds, so when playing a no error game, I start with dust devil, start healing then switch to air to pump out damage + the second blind when they waist their first, finally if needed I have sig of air as a backup blind. When all crap hits the fan I have the invulnerable + ether heal and other defensive tools to help me get the heal off.

Personally I would like the use the signet heal, but with 10 in arcane and 15 in water, the condition removal is nearly non existant. (1+1+3 condition removal with cleansing wave trait, 1+3 without)

I think they blow over in the wind, what makes me think that? I used to run a build like that. 30 30 0 10 0 S/F. It seemed that lava tomb was more effective then when I was alive, unless I caught a foe by surprize.

Ele needs to be easier to play.

Ele does not need to be made easier it needs to be made more rewarding.

I consider myself fairly good at ele and once mastered the final outcome is subpar to everything else in the game atm.

Then its just unbalancing.

People need a 2 attunement spec where they don’t have to switch to the other 2, in fact some specs should completely out one attunement from being ran.

Do you know how much work would be required to do that. It would almost require a full overhaul of the entire elementalist profession, not to mention that we aren’t in beta anymore so if something goes wrong along the way then the ele would be either super OP or super UP for another month before the could fix it.

An account may be given dishonor points for leaving a PvP match prematurely, for leeching experience or faction, or for falsely reporting team members for leeching. An account that has accumulated ten or more dishonor points will gain the Dishonorable status.

Players who leave a PvP match prematurely will receive 5 dishonor points. Resigning counts as premature exit in Alliance Battles and Rollerbeetle Racing. A player can be forced to resign due to excessively long load times, which can be caused by lag, or by the player being required to download game content before entering the arena.

  • If a player is reported for leeching, that player will receive 2 dishonor points for each report against them.
  • A player who stands in the same spot and does not move for a length of time at any point during a match will get Dishonorable status automatically, even if they are using skills during that time (such as bonders at Fort Aspenwood) and has not been reported by other players.
  • Players who report a team member for leeching without at least a third of their team also reporting that player will also receive 2 dishonor points. This is to prevent grief-reporting, but also makes it possible to get Dishonorable status for, essentially, doing the right thing, if your compatriots are apathetic. Currently this is bugged as even if a third of your team report someone for leeching you still gain dishonor points.
  • If at least half of your team reports this player, a further penalty will be applied preventing any faction or XP gain in the match.
  • Dishonor points will remain on the player’s account for a total of 60 minutes. If further dishonor points are acquired during this period, that account is once again given the Dishonorable status, though for a longer period of time due to the accumulation of points.

To clear dishonor points from an account, a player must go 60 minutes without accumulating any new dishonor points.

Op needs to man up and go full zerker.

Zerker D/D, most fun build 0 15 0 25 30 pre nerf. Too bad there is so much lag here in Aus that I can’t play it anymore (well, I don’t bear it anymore).

Unfortunately, with the way Ele was designed, it’s very sensitive to latency, so combined with excessive nerfs (in WVW), I can’t bear playing mine anymore either.

Yea, 600-900 RTL, always 40 second cd, Fire 5 and Air 2 always missing at the slight movement of a foe, Fire 3 being out walked by swiftness.

I’m S/F now (well since Dec) and the builds I ran between then and now have all been focused on taking down FOTM D/D eles, which don’t exist much anymore

Brainstorm Session for Focus Changes

Flame Wall (fire 4): Increase damage or burn duration

Fire Shield (fire 5): Increase duration of aura or reduce cooldown or add retaliation for a short duration currently outclassed by frosty aura (same cooldown, longer duration, better effect)

Freezing Gust (Water 4): Aoe at targets location or increase the chill duration

Comet (Water 5): Fine, bug fix to prevent going through obstruction

Swirling Winds (Air 4): This skill is fine in my opinon, however, adding an aoe swiftness (1 second per second standing in the field, so swiftness within the field) or vulnerability (to foes standing in the field) would be nice for when not fighting a projectile class (keeping the skill still usefull). However, swiftness and vulnerability do not really match the focus as it seems to be a stationary defensive weapon. Perhaps damage reduction for melee enemies in the field (something like 5-10%) but that would make the skill harder to counter.

Gale (Air 5): This skill has potential, everyone says its bad, but is a long cd with not much loss during the skill (see updraft), it has a not so obvious tell/animation and it goes backwards. It is also a cast so it hits stealthed foes (even if the teleport). A small cooldown reduction could help boost the power of this skill, but I wouldn’t like for its fire backwards to be removed (one of the only ways to get away from foes with the focus)

Earth: fine, powerful, possibly why the other skills are lacking. It has a better mistform and a better cleansing fire built into the set.

With earth in its current state (strong) I don’t see Anet adding movement skills to the weapon and I think that would take away from the theme of the focus. It is a defensive weapon with a couple of area denial skills, but mostly focused on fighting 1 foe or bunkering (no support skills, only a couple area denial, strong 1v1 abilities, no escape abilities). Moving bunker to the focus would be a good change I believe. We have a damage / roaming weapon already (dagger) lets not make the focus into a clone of that weapon.

Math of Vitality and Toughness

The only math required for the Elementalist is actually:

damage output = 3000 / number of autoattacks to kill you

I thought it was:
TTL = worse then everyone else because this is the good at nothing profession.

On a serious note, thanks for all the calculations, esp the Protections ones. I currently run a 100% protection build and its good to see whakittenactually provides and that I should try to up my toughness. Though I play sPvP so uping toughness isn’t all that easy.

No offense I play war mostly have 4 of my lvl 80’s that are warrior and you say mobile strikes berserkers stance and dolyak sig which means you are setting ur build up to escape and u say ele’s can’t escape don’t make me laugh. rtl whatever the skill 3 is with dd mistform and a teleport if u set up for escape just as a war does since that’s what gs seems to be for unless we run into some noobs like some of you I guess all of the classes can escape easily it’s called knowing ur class. don’t come QQ here about wars when u have stealth as ranger thief and mes plus a few invuls on ele guardian just don’t get me started

Sorry bro, but the warriors (and other classes) were crying it up in our forums till we got RTL nerfed (3 times) to its current sorry state. Looks like the tables are turned.

FYI I don’t play D/D (haven’t since Christmas), why? Well 30-40% of the skills do nothing almost all the time. RTL = 600-900 range on a good day (1200 is its listed range) and a 40 second cd regardless of wether it hits or not. Anet needs to learn that some people don’t have the luxury of a server next door and that these on hit conditional cooldowns fail in higher latency environments.

Leveling an Elementalist - not fun

I levelled to 60 in level 20 zones, that was a fun experience, best thing, I could take on 10-15 mobs at a time with d/d. Got to 60, went to 60 content died instantly. Turns out level 20 gear is not good for level 60 zones. Brought greens of the TB for like 10 silver and presto, breezed through the level 60 content reaching 80 not very long later (turns out level appropriate stuff levels you quickly).

My most favourite way to res my ele is, step 1 have another ele use Glyph of Renewal on you, step 2not get ressed, wether due to a bug or because you used mist form is another question altogether. Step 3 you died and your friend just waisted 3 seconds trying to save you, not to mention he loses a utility for 3 minutes.

First time you enter a map ever you are presented with a join red . blue team and a small tutorial of the map. example, the following example would be played out like a scout in PvE, once viewed you would not see this again unless going into help options:

I have put more money into this game then my 3 years of playing wow. Heck I’ve brought more money worth of gems then the money I paid on the wow games and subscriptions combined. What I hated about wow was that you brought an expansion, it cost more then LOTRO and it didn’t give you game time. Meanwhile back at LOTRO, costs less, is a better game (opinion) and gives you game time each expansion.

In actual fact, I have paid more money for GW2 then Aion (6months sub) Terra (1 year discount sub) WoW (3 years sub, up to cata) and LOTRO (1 year sub 1x expansion and 1 freebee, how is this not one of the greatest paid to play games of its time?) subscriptions combined.

So I do like to take interest in the state of the game (when you invest $700+ in a game you probably would too) and voice my opinions when necessary. Btw, that’s $700+ for pvp, I don’t play PvE very often at all and I don’t play WvW

To make staff ele can be usable
1. Pre-cast speed or the projectile speed of #1 need to be faster.
2. AoE damage skills should match with other class. Now staff fire #2 with trait to improve AoE size is too small compare to Necro’s marks or Guardian’s symbols which can cover the capping points. The first tick of damage should be same with other class’ AoE too.
3. Give ele some defending mechanism like Lightning Flash range improve to 1200 when traited or add smoke field to staff earth #4.

I also would like to see buff on conjure weapons and make them can cast while moving.

Conjure weapons can be cast while moving. Only the Elite cannot, do you use the other conjures?

Mesmers aren’t as good as warriors and necros, but neither are any of the other professions. I see twice as many mesmers as eles, and about the same number as thieves, guardians, and even rangers. Engineers are a bit more popular right now even though no one is really finding them OP (I happen to think it’s just because they’re the most fun profession to play), and of course war/necro is the most played.

I also am trying to remind people in every thread like this that players lobbied Anet for the exact buffs that created the OP specs we have now. Maybe we should push a little less hard for massive buffs to our favorite professions and focus on other issues?

Players lobbied Anet for Necro sustain … Anet replied with .. you want burning? Ok. Though, even as an elementalist I don’t find condition necros a problem.

Maybe make the locker not hold the skins, but rather unlock them in the manner similar to achievement skin rewards.

and to avoid crafting concern, make things not salvageable if you pick them up from the pvp locker (so you can only salvage stuff from chests)

Then comes the horrible you pressed deposit all button and presto they disappeared forever.

I would like weapons to stack to 2 if they are dual wieldable, or for the aforementioned bug to never occur if they decide to go about the above path.

I think he means will the 5% move speed add on top of the 25% speed from signet of air.

As answered above, but with a different example, no.
25% speed will be applied, the 5% will not stack on top to give 30% speed. Silly I know, but what can you do.

I run 0/15/10/15/30 with D/D. The 15 in air is fairly noticeable in 1v1s, both for the precision and crit damage and for the on swap effect. The Earth 6 major trait is great. 10% extra damage and more toughness for investing into it is amazing. I only run 15 in water for the heal on swap, and Evasive Arcana is a must for me.

Yea, 15 air is very good for 1v1 with D/D. I used to run 0 15 0 25 30, though the 10 earth would be much better then the 1% damage per boon that water 25 now is. Once in combat, the air 15 can be used to clear blind, remove enemy aegis and the extra damage is nice (as well as an instant poison if using sigil of doom). I used to run the 0 15 0 25 30 setup with zerker runes in pvp and it was very fun

Freezing Gust could use more chill, but I think 9 second aoe chill would be way over the top for it. We’ve got to remember that the ele is the worst at everything, but can do everything professions. So if you gave the elementalist the best chill in the game then that would break Anet’s view of the elementalist. Currently (to my knowledge) the greatest chill we can achieve with 1 skill is a full hit of Frost Fan for 7 seconds (even though it should hit for 21 seconds of chill). Just adding a small aoe or increasing it duration to 5-6 seconds would be nice.

Gale is lacking a bit, but again, bringing the skill in line with warriors skills would break the “worst at everything but can do everything” philosophy. A simple cooldown reduction would be nice here, but you have to remember it is a long kd, has little ‘tell’ and fires backwards.

Fire wall has low damage, a small field and only applies 1 second burn, it could use some love but does have a decent duration

Fire shield is would be very nice with a duration buff to 7 seconds or a cool down reduction. It is currently out shinned buy frost aura (dagger water 4) that shares a cooldown, lasts 7 seconds (tooltip, its been a while so ingame could be different) reduces incoming damage by 10% and applies a nasty chill to anyone attacking. Fire aura would be very nice with the 1 second cd between burn removed and 1 sec duration for might left there, but remember, buffing fire aura will buff all classes that can leap finisher for it.

Someone suggested me a super bursty type spec that is 30/30/10/0/0 with earth signet to setup your kills. It’s really challenging to play without any points into arcana or water like most ele players do.

I run an odd build, but only go 15 water and 10 arcane using sig of earth to setup kills. My usual build is 0 water 0-10 arcane, but with condition meta I can’t play it as well.

How about a “Very Small” option to UI scale, or the ability to make each item a certain custom size. I still feel that some of the UI elements are too big for my liking.

I understand anet doesnt necessarily want people making custom UI arrangements, and i get that, but the option for size already exists. Small just isnt small enough on large monitors.

GW1 had a very good UI system, you could adjust everything on your screen.

I would like to play with small UI, however, I don’t like the mini map size on small UI, it is too small for my liking. GW1’s ‘u’ map was very good, very very basic version of carbonite mod for wow, but customizable size, though the GW1 minimap wasn’t as good as GW2’s (gw2 is a less sizeable version of GW1 minimap and GW1 ‘u’ map combined)

Fast cast targeting bugs out at times and will cast on your foes location. Mousing over any UI element will cast at your location.

Adding the suggested would have to be a different setting because the current setting (without the stupid bug) is fine as is. Sometimes you want to use the skill where your foe will be, or where your dragons tooth will land for example

Would be nice to see bug fixes across all professions, there are still elementalist bugs from release. Our delayed skills (e.g. dragons tooth) have to be paid 3 times. Cast, then the delay then the dodging to prevent interrupt / blind or it will do no effect or damage (even though its been fully cast and you waited the delay time).

A friend and I fight 2v2+ from time to time and the only way we keep our selves going is by helping each other out. We strategically go down to get a free heal (elementalist res glyph). When my friend or myself are in a 1v1 situation and losing then there is no hesitation for the other to rock up, kick kittens and chew gum, them kittens.

This is a team game, playing with your team will win it.

Fire Wall not fine, the damage or burning duration need to be boosted a little.
Fire Shield Agree on shorter cd or longer duration

Freezing Gust That is a super buff
Comet Bug fix, can no longer go through obstructions

Swriling Winds Agree, while adding aoe swiftness would be nice this skill is a good one
Gale Another super buff.

Magnetic Wave I think this skill is fine personally
Obsidian Flesh I also think this is fine and a very good skill

I had some trait ideas for the focus, can’t remember them now, nothing too grand.
Something like Focus Empowerment: Take 5% (non stacking) less damage for 2 seconds every time you cast a focus skill.

You are right! Elementalists have access to many sources of poison! Axe #1 gives you perma poison uptime!

Blast finishers. Also mashing the enemy necros face while being invulnerable helps the team a lot.
But I see your point. But dagger offhand is either too squishy and has no support or is unable to melt someone.
Only reasonable support on ele comes from staff (rofl, REASONABLE)

Focus is a good weapon as it is. I should know, been using it as my main setup since Christmas. The fire line is lacking though, either fire shield needs a buff (easiest without throwing balance out) or fire aura needs a buff (that would effect all fire auras available in the game). Adding a small duration of retaliation to Fire Shield or even shortening its cd / increasing its duration would be fair enough.

Flamewall is one of the worse fields, good for using earth 1 through but the damage and burning that you get off the skill (not finisher) doesn’t force anyone to think twice about walking into it and makes it harder to land DT / Phoenix in for some nice blast finishers, not that I usually bother with might stacking, waist a good DT on a field … pffft.

Most of the other focus skills are fine. The focus is geared toward single target foes, which makes it a good match up for the sceptre (esp gale + dragons tooth or phoenix, both if you don’t lag as much as I do).

The reason I gave away daggers was because both main hand and off hand cannot handle lag very well. Many of the skills fail and when you have 30+% of you weapon skills failing you can understand why I moved to focus. Personally I would like to see the bunker part of off dagger moved to focus (water 5) but weather that will ever happen or not is a different story

Nuff said. What is your friend’s name. I have to give him some of my gold.

And with lotsa boon stealing/converting shizt happening from thieves, mesmers, and necros, you can get feared, slowed, immobilized until tornado wears off. As if it’s not easily kite-able without those CCs. Lololol

He was running a power necro and even using plague just to try it out (condition elite) he still thought it was better then tornado. He only had base condition damage.

If you mean water blast as in the water auto attack on the staff this change you suggested would be a bad one.

Also … take water blast, aim your camera so that it hits the ground or a wall beside you and tell me how much it heals for. The answer is a lot less then 500. Having this ground target on an auto attack would be annoying to use and the 30 hp it heals from missing a foe would make his change a waist. So annoying that it has to actually hit someone to do a normal heal.

It also takes you out of the fight for a small duration of its knockdown and is point blank.

Gale is -f-u-l-l- 900 range, only hits 1 foe but puts them down for a decent time (2 seconds) with no recovery on your part (a few after frame). Has a good tell (hard to see compared to a lot of our other skills). The focus defiantly goes best with the sceptre, gale is just long enough to land DT if you don’t lag and the skill ranges match.

I’m not saying its better, but it is much better then people give it credit for.

So, do any of you actually use the focus? Gale (air 5) is one of our stronger kds, it has a long kd duration, you can use it back wards (hitting a foe behind you) and it is a channel / cast so you can use it on a thief as he is about to stealth to prevent him spamming 2 into smoke field. It is quite a powerful single target interrupt.

Fire 4 needs work. Fire 5, they must have run out of ideas because this aura is sub par for the short duration and long cool down not to mention that we are eles so we don’t want to be hit.

Fire Aura:
Inflict burning and gain might when attacked, might can only be gained once per second per attacker.

The above change would allow fire aura to affect foes with multi attacks and allow burning to stack longer then 1 second. If a foe is using -condition duration then unless you have +condition duration they will not be affected by the burn.

Air 4, grant swiftness similar to staff air 4

Skill 2 sends out a dust devil (scepter 3 earth) so you can walk out of the way and it misses.

Skill 1 is mediocore vs 1, gets better with more foes.
Skill 3 …. the delay is so long that it is not funny then there is the travel time. It has a nice launch effect, but unless you can hit someone its pretty useless.

Usually activating tornado = death. Elementalists sustain comes from heals, and being a gigantic tornado heals no one. Tornado is also good to be used in a field that will last long enough, as it is a whirl finisher.

Finally, if a foe just walks away, well you cant use it at all. The best place to use this skill is on a point in pvp that a foe is trying to take from you, though you need to use it correctly not just press and forget like some other elites.

Compaired to FGS and Elemental it is bad. Underwater version is better, but when you vs thieves that are like, “hello infinite dodge trololol” you die just as easily.

New traits ideas for Ele

Personally I would like to see traits that affect other attunements in interesting ways. You can’t mix water and fire (here comes chill should remove burning … frostbite, deal with it) so powering up the fire line should (not greatly) affect the water line negatively and vice versa, Air and Earth as well. Spending points down Arcane would make you a “Master” and lessen the effects further.

As an elementalist I find that there is not much in the way of “element” synergy. It seems to be all, go fire, do fire skills etc/
