You aren’t guaranteed any lodestones in CoF. It’s all RNG.
But CoF is indeed the easiest dungeon and the one needed to get those lodestones.

Before patch, always got golds (rares), 2-3 per run and the last chest ( maw ) gave a few cores and normally 1 rare.

After the patch is a different story and my regular guild group notices it as well, while random guildies who barely did fractals are geting rares left and right, fractal regulars are getting blues. If I’m lucky I might get a green, that’s kinda sad tbqh.

Now the easiest way to get golds again is through dungeon tokens and buying 30token rares. While normally, both were profitable depending on if you like dungeons or fractals.

Bring back the hard res!

There is so many thing you and your team can do to avoid being “downed” and just as many if not more to avoid being defeated.

This is more of a l2p issue here, people shouldn’t be dying so much.

I do intend on putting more waypoints into dungeons, but due to the work required for this upcoming patch we didn’t get enough time to make it happen.
I’m not a fan of “punishment running” wherein your punishment for failing is having to run a long distance back to the fight. To discourage res rushing potential we went initially with fewer waypoints. Now that we are implementing a new tech, I would like to add more to reduce the time spent running back to an objective.
We have more info coming soon to how the system will be working.

That’s perfect, we were always told failing the event was in itself the punishment ( which makes sense ), but I’m glad we won’t also need to run for 5 min just to give it another whirl when the party wipes.

Alpha, as an example, can easily be done without res zerging.
Once you get the timing down it’s pretty easy.
But at times you “obviously”, make mistakes or the game decides it’s appropriate that your dodge jams on invisible rocks that makes you not move an inch. In which case dying happens. Reviving during any alpha fight has to be the dumbest thing ever, and as numbers decrease it becomes tediously long. Adding a 5min run after that slap in the face would be rather depressing.

Will we finally get more WP to compensate?

Some paths offer next to no way points, arah/coe being considered hard dungeons ( alpha/lupicus/dwayna seperating men/women from mice. ) are very high contenders for long runs when you revive.

I always considered the way points we had good, since I thought they were scarce to prevent too much zerg reviving, but removing the option to do so will make for needless running that aren’t needed anymore.

Just a few dungeons/paths have these tedious runs, would be nice to now have a few extra WPs.

Thought?

I don’t get it, where are your rings? 20 dailies means 20 pristine relics, which translates to 2 rings, which is all 1 char needs.

Now I’m not saying you’re full of kitten or anything, but anet added those to help battle the rng gods.

I do, the guide dmt linked to sums up nicely why thieves are really good in dungeons.
I wouldn’t worry too much about class composition.
If you have any problems, the issue is the person not allowing you in, just find someone else. I’d run dungeons with 5 thieves, I see no problem.

EDIT : Black Powder is also 2 good.

After reading the new blog, and holding my tongue on the subject until it was released, I have come a conclusion; I’m okay with this. There is one very important reason why; no upgrade slots.

You’re basically trading versatility for protection from a dungeon specific mechanic and a slight boost in base power. If you can’t add jewels to these things, or I’m assuming runes and sigils once they add armor and weapons, then the slightly higher base stats are justified. Think about that; you can’t put runes in your armor. If that was the case you’d want those base stats to be a little bit higher, so this is a pretty logical step. It also means that you won’t see a very high demand for ascended items outside of that dungeon. After all would you rather have armor with three percent higher stats or a full set of runes suited to your playstyle?

That’s the real comparison we need to make here; is ascended gear without upgrades better than exotic gear WITH full upgrades? Because that ascended gear isn’t going to have upgrade slots.

No one bothers to read posts in full, there was even a picture dear god.
But Ill post it here anyway since people read with their eyes closed.

/Hint, add up the stats and compare. You’ll see.

It’s hard to report anything to support when you can’t give them any proof due to their system wiping it out from me.

I could give the whole conversation which would in turn prove my case but, alas, anet thought it would be funny to remove the conversation if ever you were to be kicked.

This thread isn’t a witch hunt, more or less, bringing an issue to light that truly needs looking into.

Iv’e never had these problems in GW1, I don’t see any reason to “make it” a problem in GW2. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.

And the mentioning of the name, can arguably be “a witch hunt” in your mind, but think of it as, “This person is the one who kicks people out of dungeon groups, he should be avoided by the general public.”

Being able to kick from dungeons needs to be changed or something.

So, smooth run from CoE path 2.

I was the only one next to another person who did the dungeon before so throughout alpha fights I gave advice here and there. We had a second thief other than myself so I told him to bring shadowstep, which gives him a much easier time to get out of the crystal.

near the end of the last alpha encounter, I noticed he was greatly improving and actually surviving really well so I told him that he’s a fast learner and then was replied with “shut up”

moments later, boss dead and I’m kicked from the group right before the rewards.

Seriously ? two guys were from the same guild, only two.. The other two were just as random as anyone else.

After being kicked, all party chat is wiped so I can’t screen shot anything and IIRC joined a group in an overflow server, so they aren’t even on my server for me to do much else about it.

Why in gods name, in a party of 5, it only requires a “second” vote to get someone kicked ? Why can’t it be 3/4 votes ? Or everyone except the person being kicked ?

This has to change, never seen a game so pug unfriendly in my life.
The main argument to this is “get a good guild”, only way to accomplish this is to either pug and find a good player or friends. And lets be honest, not everyone has friends on 24/7 or a guild composed of only “friends”.

If anything can be done it would be appreciated, but this is just stupid.

So out of curiosity…

What’s the point of advertising a “DO NOT MISS” event on the 28ths, repeatedly ( not once ) stating that it’s something we wouldn’t want to not be there for.
Yet make it a 1 time thing on an international game of this caliber ?

If it’s just something that happens at the statue, why not add an npc that lets you “watch” the cut scene from the game ? Since it seems you want people to see it in game and not on youtube. Which seems to be where most people will need to watch it at anyway.

And if people get something exclusive out of this, you will obviously get angry players.

So what’s the deal ? Why not make it happen more than once ? Something that’s instanced ? Has none of this crossed anyone’s mind ?

It’s great that you picked a time ( peak hours ) to satisfy the majority of your player base, I just dislike the neglect everyone else is getting.

Yes it is, ever since halloween update nothing but crashes every 1-2 minutes.
Heck I can’t even log in and type Hi, and I already crash.
Sometimes as soon as I click my char it crashes.

past 10 min I crashed around 15times each minute, seriously… TEST PATCHES before pushing them in.

I understand Halloween stuff needs to be fixed fast since it only lasts a week, but for the love of god… It’s not any better if we can’t play either.

First time I ever get issues ( game wise ), but that’s probably due to a patch every 6 hours >_>

The camera isn’t even bad for this puzzle at all.
To me it sounds like you’re probably playing on some computer that gives you 5fps max.
That’s probably the only way to not be able to do this puzzle.

Get this changed asap, we don’t need 50 buttons to do the same thing.
Left click already selects and does actions, I don’t understand why right clicking ( which is to move the camera ) also has this same function.
It’s like having W also associated with performing actions and targeting.

This is a much needed fix for PvP/PvE/Anything.

SE grenadiers have stupid hp, like so stupid, that I think they all have boss hp or more.

HotW, every boss is faceroll easy, the only thing stopping us from quick runs is the fact they have 219712094712073070 hp.

This is all EXP I’m talking about.

Seriously, make them difficult with fun mechanics, not with huge HP pools.

So when is this going to be relevant enough to get fixed ?

Players swapping servers, wasting supplies on plans in a worthless area to drain X keep of Y supply.

Players swapping servers to simply listen to conversations and hand over the information to their rightful server in order to get a huge advantage.

These things really need to stop, it’s dumb.

Remove the free transfers already so things stabilize a little more.

So I was wondering if the devs ( or the general population ) thinks that there might be something wrong with thieves being almost forced to use SB to be efficient ?

I mean, let’s look at it this way.

The way initiative works, you can use it all on offence, all on defence or mobility… Whatever your heart desires, you decide what it’s used for. This means most, if not all thieves opt for a high damaging set (offensive set )… And SB ( For mobility ).

I have yet to see any other combinations and even if I did, they’d be honestly purposely kittening themselves doing so.

My opinion means probably next to nothing to most of you guys ( not that anyone’s opinion is ever taken seriously tbh ) but I do think this really limits the combinations thieves can viably use.

Long Story Short.

Is the SB, or any of the other sets, going to get changed at some point in order to make any/all weapon combination a little more interesting/viable ?
We already have a tiny pool of weapon sets to begin with, absolutely needing SB makes this even smaller.

Discuss ?

There’s actually a consumable that you can use in WvW, which gives you 10 seconds of invisibility at the cost of being able to move, it has no cooldown.

You can purchase this from ?? ( I don’t know ) for ( IIRC ) around 14-24 karma per.
he could have been popping one and instantly backstab + pop another.

My friend even bought a bunch of rock consumable, and kd’d someone 12 times in a row for lulz.

This is dumb and broken.

If just it was so easy to farm tokens… Forget it. It’s:
Character A Runs Path 1 of Dungeon X = 60 Tokens
Character A Runs Path 2 of Dungeon X = 60 Tokens
Character B Runs Path 1 of Dungeon X = 30 Tokens
Character C Runs Path 1 of Dungeon X = 15 Tokens
Character C Runs Path 1 of Dungeon X = 8 Tokens
Character C Runs Path 1 of Dungeon X = 2 Tokens

this is correct.

Its 20 + 40 bonus for each path ran once per day.
then 20, followed by even less for repeated same path.
And this IS account, not per char.

My group just entirely crashed 3 times now against Vevina.

Was trying to figure out exactly what caused it but I really don’t know.
I assume we all sent that crash report.

Just pointing this out in case others have a similar situation.

EDIT : Party member pointed out that the crash screen says the following

“Can’t find parent ‘Bone Shield’”

possible file name screw up.

As the title states… WHEN ?

After the update, my tokens are only good for a single piece of armor/weap and Ill have roughly 100 left over completely useless because they don’t stack with anything that’s new/other char’s tokens.

So I get less rewards from doing dungeons ( heavily effected by that bug that gives you next to no reward ) AND the update makes my old tokens useless.
Last patch did no good.

Yeah good thing I don’t know there’s a global DR in which, no matter which path or dungeon you pick, if you run things under 30min often you will eventually be penalized.

did another TA run and finished roughly over an HOUR later.
This time it was forward Up the path, for all the efforts I put.
I got exactly 6 tokens. This is rather absurd and to call this “diminishing returns” is a joke.
GJ pushing untested patches, I’d rather have the old system back over this new grindfest.

wtb my lost tokens.

Since this very run, I JUST completed another forward/up run which is almost 24hours later about 5 min ago.

And, to everyone’s surprise 30/60 tokens.
GG.

So the grand total now is. 51/180.
Where be my tokens anet ?
I’m clearly farming these bad boys non stop clocking 10 min per run.

You’re also missing the part where … “if you’re trying to experience/learn the dungeon content but any hiccups happen that prevent 100% completion, you get zero rewards … we don’t care if you killed 90% of the bosses”

Killing 90% of the bosses in Arah in a 2 hour run and then the group not finishing … something outside my control … should not leave me aggravated and thinking, “wow, I just wasted 2 hours in Arah exploration mode that I could have spent farming in Cursed Shore”.

Anything works at this point, I just hate the fact that people who completed the story mode and got bad rewards are getting “compensated” while I can almost guarantee all of us players finishing their “tough” content won’t see any of the lost tokens.

right now, I could be running TA, like I usually would in hopes to one day get the full set. Yet I don’t feel in any way compelled to even try seeing as I only got 21/120 tokens I was supposed to get. If the stacking bug wasn’t in effect I could probably get 2 pieces ( the cheaper parts ) so this is in no way me abusing the system and of farming the dungeon. It’s hard enough to get a group for that dungeon let alone farm it with that same group.

If anyone bothers to read the patch notes, we’re promised 60tokens for every 1st path completion of the day.

Which totals to 180tokens per day and only 20tokens for every repeated runs afterwards.

I have friends completely geared in TA armor looking to get another weapon still getting their 60 tokens while I’m here, still without a single piece, being “rewarded” 6 tokens and proceeded by a different path and 15 tokens.

No, this system isn’t targeting farmers, it’s targeting people at random yes, but not “farmers” specifically.

All I have to say is ( and although still frustrated by all of this ), is that IF and IF people who did the story line ( last quest ) and received diminished loot which wasn’t intended are being “compensated” somehow, as the patch notes indicate and the people who ran these dungeons with this untested patche legitimately + received ridiculous amounts of tokens AREN’T compensated in some way, I will be MAJORLY disappointed as I’m sure MANY other people will be as well.

haven’t done any dungeons all day, just did TA exp path up/up with a few buds, took around 30-40min, everyone got 60 ( some have even done multiple runs today and gotten 60 more than once ) and I just got 15 blooms.

This seriously needs to be fixed, I’m not being given the 60blooms per different path bonus I should be entitled to.

They don’t even stack with the rest of my tokens either.

Not sure if this is a bug or not.

But using haste, you see the icon for “regenerate no endurance”.
When I attack or revive or most of the time anything, the icon removes but my endurance refuses to regen for another 10-15 seconds.

I’m not sure what causes it, but it happens rather frequently.

I don’t get it, what’s so hard about changing it so that if you press F2, it stop ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING the pet does in order to use that F2 skill.

I mean, 99% of the character’s skills work like that. You know, cancel a skill which makes it enter a 3 second cooldown.

Just made a ranger for the lulz and my dog absolutely refuses to use his regen skill even when spammed >_> This is a joke.
