Town clothes question

I had things like the boxing gloves and bunny ears and I no longer have access to them. They’re not in the wardrobe and they’re not even available in the gem store anymore.

I was never refunded any gems and I can’t seem to find where they are anymore since I can’t just switch to town clothes anymore.

Does anyone have any idea where they would have gone or where I can access them?

I reached out to support but their response times are in the 7-8 day range these days.

Thanks in advance!

what i really don’t want them to do is simply re-run the first year!
it would be a little bit nasty after many of us have spent our entire gold supply and thousand of hours farming to save up for Greatsaw,
adding it back would be a kick in the teeth for our dedication.

currently it is valued at a similar price to legendary weapons,
and in my mind, that is where it belongs!

I couldn’t disagree with this more. The weapon skin system was so flawed at that stage of the game it’s not even funny. I fully welcome the return of anything from previous years that was impossible for a majority of the playerbase to get.

Farming tons of gold isn’t dedication, it’s boring. You chose to do that. Many people paid upwards of $200 or more to get a skin the first time around and got nothing. Clearly they were less dedicated.

The solution is to just lock in the tiers using the rankings as of the WvW announcement. The next few weeks just shouldn’t count.

Not sufficient as a solution as well, would need an transfer-stop between announcement and end of league additionally.

I’m not sure why they don’t do this. All of the WvW tournaments or seasons in this game are manipulated by lazy scum who want to do nothing and get the best stuff.

Nobody should ever be booted from the dungeon just because someone else leaves. End of story. Whatever else they implement to prevent griefing I’m all for. Increase vote kick to 3 votes? Definitely. Give party leader some form of control over how things work? Perfect.

But nobody should ever be removed from an instance because the first person who left, or the party leader, left or got kick or got disconnected.

End of story. That’s how ArenaNet has decided dungeons should now work.

we aggree on that, and it is not at all related to this thread because the topic we are discussing is the autonomy of party leaders NOT suggesting that the party leader leaving should still close the dungeon

Fair enough. Glad we’re on the same page on that then. As far as what is and isn’t given to party leaders, I could care less so I’ll take my leave of this thread.

The only changes I ask for are these:
1. Increase kick count to three
2. Keep party chat
3. A message when someone joins a party
4. A message when you are kicked, including who initiated the kick and who voted on it.

The developer in some of the recent posts here has said he is working on this and that it’s something that’s possible to implement, Which is why I don’t understand why we still have so many threads about this before it’s even been implemented.

NO NO NO… Nobody should ever be kicked from the dungeon just because the party leader (or anybody else) gets kicked.

I am not sure why a few people on the forums keep asking for this as a remaining “feature”…. Nobody should ever be kicked out of the dungeon if someone is kicked – end of story.

That gives dungeon leaders WAY too much power. If the leader is vote kicked, leader should transfer as normal.

All of the good suggestions you mentioned are things already proposed by the developers. Why don’t we just wait and see how the new system works before everyone else tries to bring their brilliant ideas on the table?

ArenaNet has come to their senses and realized nobody should ever be kicked from a dungeon if the “dungeon owner” (party leader, whatever you guys wanna call it) gets kicked or leaves. That’s not fun or fair to anybody.

The party leader should not be protected from a kick. And nobody should be removed from the instance if the party leader or anybody else is kicked or leaves.

u dont come into my house and tell me how to do things, you dont come into my party and tell me how to do things! if i lead the party you play by my rules

What are you talking about? On more than one occasion I’ve spent time creating a party only to have someone ELSE walk into the dungeon – thereby him being the dungeon owner, NOT ME. You don’t even know what you’re complaining about from forum post to forum post.

And no, lol, just because you started a party doesn’t mean you get supreme control over everything. That’s not how life works. I’m just glad you aren’t in charge of any decision making at ArenaNet.

Can this be closed already? I mean seriously. The instance owner thing was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in an MMO and ArenaNet is going back on that design (about time if you ask me) for good reasons.

4 people should not get removed from an instance just because the person who walked in decided to leave, get kicked, or get disconnected. Not to mention that the party leader wasn’t always the “instance owner” so all you people arguing over how the party leader should have complete control don’t even understand how the system works in the first place.

The devs said that in time we will get an increase from 2-3 votes required to kick. Be patient until then. Until then, at least now we don’t have to worry about someone getting disconnected or leaving and wiping out the entire dungeon party.

My only concern are the elitist groups who insta kick engineers, rangers, or necros as soon as they join because those classes aren’t “optimal” for most dungeons.

There are groups all the time that don’t care. In fact whenever I do dungeons I specifically say any class is welcome and that it’s not a speed run.

The only thing that needs to be added now is an increase from 2 votes to 3 votes to kick and the system will be perfect.

So, even dungeon sellers? Those who legitely ran a dungeon solo and sell the places at the end. (something anet allows.) Should be allowed to be kicked?

This is the problem, if anet changes the dungeon ownership without fixing kick abuse.

I honestly don’t give a crap about people selling dungeons. I think that it shouldn’t be allowed in the first place. Being the party leader should not grant you the power to remove the entire party out of the dungeon for being kicked.

Nobody should EVER get kicked from an instance just because someone else was kicked or left on their own accord.

I’m glad Anet saw the flaw in this design and is going back on it, because it’s not fun or fair for anybody. Sell dungeons at your own risk, I guess.

There are talks of implementing debug messages for whoever joins, leaves, votes to kick, etc. within a party so that if people randomly kick you to hijack your run, they are able to be reported and banned for doing so.

but i think if you read my solution on my first post you will c i did suggest a change for the opener leaving, so obviously i do see a problem with that, as for kicking the opener? the only problem i see with that is the opener can be kicked at all, in gw1 i had total control of any party i created no questions asked no exceptions, thats the way it should b here.

In GW1 if you formed a party you can kick someone at any time and nobody else would leave the party just because you kicked them. Did you even play GW1? Lol if the party leader leaves a mission or explorable zone, nobody else is kicked from anything.

Because not everyone can start the dungeon. There are many times I have gone to a party and the party leader can not start the dungeon because he/she did not do the story so someone else who has it unlocked has to do it.

Like I also pointed out that it would be nice if the party leader could tick a box where someone can’t get kicked.

That can also be abused. They’ll find a sweet spot. Honestly it’s as simple as just making 3 people required to kick. Do what other games do. Require 3 to kick and require a reason for the kick.

If 3 people vote for “kick for lulzzzz” then the person who was kicked gets notified that they were kicked by X person and for that reason and the griefers can be reported.

No system will ever be flawless, but personally I love the new system. I’m really tired of openers leaving the dungeon (DC, spite, ragequit, repairs etc…) and kicking everyone else.

I had a guy in fractals refuse to ready up unless we all danced. nobody in the party had time for that so we kicked him… but it was him that opened and we were all returned to LA.

4 other people do not deserve to be at the mercy of one stupid person. 2 vote kick is already bad enough.

thats an unusual circomstance but if you had known he was the opener i guess u wuda shut up and danced huh? besides there were probably signs he was immature before that and you cuda left long ago.

anyway if 1 person starts a party then yes you do deserve to be at that person’s mercy. 99% of the time ul b fine ESPECIALLY if we implement my leaver solution

Dude I’m actually done replying to you after this, but try and at least understand what I am about to say.

The person who FORMS the group is not always the person to ENTER THE DUNGEON. Dungeon owner =/= party leader. That’s the problem with this.

Also, the fact that you really see no flaw in 4 people getting kicked cause 1 person leaves or gets kicked is just….

if you had known he was the opener i guess u wuda shut up and danced huh? besides there were probably signs he was immature before that and you cuda left long ago.

Yeeeah… not even gonna touch that one.

anyway if 1 person starts a party then yes you do deserve to be at that person’s mercy. 99% of the time ul b fine ESPECIALLY if we implement my leaver solution

I’ve lost some faith in ArenaNet over the years, but I have enough faith to realize that this will never happen. And thank all that’s holy for that.

Unfortunately, it turns out that changing the kick system to majority is not that easy from the coding perspective as it would seem. They simply do not know how to do it yet. :P

It’s a step in the right direction at least. At least now I don’t have to worry about someone leaving the run and kicking everyone. Every now and then I’ll make a lfg party and when I waypoint to that zone, the guy is already in the dungeon. I make sure that I am the one who enters, nobody else, to ensure that doesn’t happen.

At least I’ll have that off my mind.

the dungeon community is the most hostile, most unfriendly, most eager to kick community in this game, and their is almost no fixing that. one of the only ways to be safe in a long run is to be the opener. this update will only give dungeon elitists more power to kick the person WHO STARTED THE PARTY. this update is just going to make them more hostile and aggressive and now theirs no protection from that.

its also a problem for dungeon sellers who can now be kicked by the buyer although i dont really like runners anyways.

i dont wana play the meta, i dont always wana roll swamp i dont wana keep a set of full zerker armor to do the catacombs and i dont wana rush past every enemy in the game just to quickly do the boss chest. and now their is no way for me to safely join a dungeon. you have taken away one of the only things i still do in this game anet

I started a group yesterday and someone was already in the dungeon. He was not the party leader but when he left, we all got kicked. That is flawed. No opinion necessary, that is flawed design.

If you don’t want to play the beta, roll swamp, or yada yada, don’t. I make groups all the time and nobody EVER kittenes at me when I don’t roll swamp in fractals, or say “Let’s kill mobs” instead of skipping.

Hell, even put it in your lfg “LFG AC P1 no skipping” and it will fill – I promise you.

But to request not to change the current system is like being served a kitten at a 5 star restaurant and turning the owner down when he offers you a filet.

Just a few days ago I made a thread out of frustration regarding the flawed dungeon owner system. I was excited today to see that it was something you’re working on and glad to see it go.

The most frustrating thing about dungeons (notably PuGs) is when someone who walked into the dungeon, who doesn’t even need to be the party leader, left and kicked everyone out.

The only feedback I have regarding this amazing change is to maybe make it 3 people required for kick instead of 2. I’m not sure why only 2 are needed, but if that’s the big thing people are bringing up as a counter-argument, just make it 3 votes required to kick instead of 2.

Again, thank you so much for this change! It was long overdue!

Title. I want to know if I’ll be able to actually run a viable condition build at some point.

Thanks.

Conditions have always been viable. In fact, they’re incredibly powerful except in every aspect of the game outside of dungeons and zerg content. Are conditions ever going to be capable of 100k bursts? No. That flies in the face of DoT/attrition style play. Apples will never be the same as oranges.

Not in open world boss fights mainly because anytime a new condition is added it cancels the previous one if the stack is maxed. And most of them are stack max 1. There’s been ample talk about how to fix it from conversions to a new stack of a higher tier of damage for fire and poison, to actually only allowing classes who are specced grandemaster into condition damage builds to do condition damage and rebuilding the skills so they don’t apply conditions unless one is in a condition build (so removing bleeds and poison etc from burst damage builds entirely).

So they have the solutions they just need to implement them.

Honestly, those are some great ideas. Being specced into grand master traits for conditions only to see someone auto attacking a world boss to get credit and applying bleed stacks with his rifle that overwrite mine is really irritating.

*critical Damage gets nerfed by 8-14% depending on profession/build

“Haha ‘zerkers’! How you like them apples!?!”

*DPs specs continue on w/o batting an eye

Seriously, how many people are going to forget that Ferocity was stated as only the 1st step in the change(s) they planned on implementing to alleviate the sense of “killing things faster is the best support.” On the other hand, they did say they wanted to see how the change would play out before doing anything else so maybe they were satisfied with what they saw. It is hard to tell with these long balance cycles. But it is what it is. I wouldn’t bet on the zerker stats being meta forever is all I’m sayin’.

More on topic, the devs made it sound like condition stacking in its current form was primarily a financial decision with data costs and whatnot, although that’s probably not a complete picture of the design choices leading to what we have now. You can probably expect a change to it in the future. Keep in mind, we likely won’t hear about it until they actually have something that is financially feasible and won’t explode bosses faster than Fiery Rush.

And yeah, PVP balance has to be taken into account too. Another challenge but not an impass.

On your last sentence: they can do what they did in GW1 and just make separate combat systems for PvE / PvP. I do agree something would need to be looked at for PvP as well, but the point being that PvE, WvW, PvP – doesn’t matter. Conditions are flat out broken.

The entire PvE design is flawed; if you’re not a might stacking zerker you’re doing it wrong; and that’s bad… mmmk.

Guess I’ve been playing the game wrong for 2 years now, dang.

If you’re fully reliant on condition bosses, please don’t come to world bosses. You’re literally doing nothing but scaling the boss. Please go play something else.

This guy’s comment alone shows you how miserable the state of condition damage is in this game. Players like this who say “ZERKER OR GTFO MY WORLD BOSS” are clear indication something is wrong.

This debate has been responsible for many dead horses so I’ll just leave you to your own definition of logic.

*If you have the time, go ask some sPvPers and WvW Roamers about how utterly useless conditions are.

Oh good so conditions are only viable in PvP scenarios. Great. Too bad that’s not what this thread is about. I should not have to, as a condition damage character, lose ALL of my damage the second someone auto attacks and applies their own condition.

GW1, WoW, Archeage, hell, EVERY OTHER MMO OUT THERE, allows for each person to damage bosses individually.

I don’t see why it’s so difficult to allow everyone to just apply their own damage through conditions rather than having Joe level 50 over there use his rifle auto attack to apply a 20 damage bleed over my 150 damage bleed.

I’m surprised the birthday vendor is even in the game though considering she offers nothing.

Birthday Blaster accountbound, maybe?

No. Gifts should be given at the birthday of specific characters, not accounts. Just wait for your other characters if you want it.

I assume these are no longer available? I came back to the game right after Battle for Lion’s Arch and I noticed some people with Halos and horns.

Are these items still available, or will they be available again?

Thanks for any info!
