woops! What skill do you recommend then for a quick burst of health? For WvW I agree but for PvE it is useful due to it beign another distraction in order to kite…

I think most people will take consume conditions so they can heal AND get rid of conditions other people put on them or conditions that are self inflicted.

one of the ideas I had to bring conditionmancers up to par with other fast damaging burst specs of other classes was to rework Feast of Corruption so that instead of flat 8% dmg per condition it gives us +condition Damage for a duration per condition already on the target. So an example would be if you had 3 conditions on the target you would get +20 condition damage per , resulting in +60 condition damage overall for 5 or so seconds. While these numbers are made up I think the idea would give condition necros using scepter a little bit more of a burst.

Might i recommend 2 Runes of the Afflicted instead of Lyssa. You’ll get +28 condition damage, +15% bleed duration.

And yea, tool-tips are bugged.

Link ends up as Bad Link, I wanted to check it out can you repost ? Also for those fo you who have slotted your character with bleed duration / condition duration do you find that to be more viable then just slotting for condition damage / bleed damage? Would love to hear input on that subject.

Instead of reporting everyone who seemingly insulted you Forice perhaps you should of put this complaint / question into a different forum better suited for it. For example the technical issues forum or the Players helping players forum for questions. While yes, you may play a necro, this post really has nothing to do with necros and more to do with game-play in general.

Engineers have a buff that makes you biggerkitten (one of the f1 thrown elixers I forget) and foirce, do you have a job or school? Or do you just live on the forums trolling?

Yep, he lives here. Makes a new thread every 5mins for anything even remotely out of the ordinary going on in game. It is quite funny actually.

If I am in wvwvw by myself or generally pvp by myself I will toss on the dagger. If i happen to be with a buddy that is better at burst damage than I am then I will utilize the focus more to get some vulnerability stacked up. I only use the horn if I happen to be doing tpvp or spvp.

I was so dumb at the start of the game that I’ve trashed that piece of art and now I’m missing it.
Is there any way to get it back? Is there any mask that looks like that in the game?

Good question. I still have mine and keep it in the bank as I plan on using it on whatever exotic headpiece I get soon. However to answer your question I have not seen any other item in the game that has this same item look. I think it truly is unique.

Woah Woah not trying to write of the community the only feedback on rework ideas i want are from then, Sorry if i came off rude. But they are the only ones i see on this forum who are advocate users, trying to make solutions for the necro class.

While I respect your Idea to have just a few comment and help make ideas with you. I think there have been many many people on these forums who have suggested just as many if not more ideas than these select few whom you picked out. Also, i dunno how you would even limit a thread to just a few people. Seems sort of backward if you truly are looking for new ideas.

Personally i think after ANET does decide to start fixing us necros other classes will begin to call for nerfs on us because we won’t be ‘free kills’ any longer. While I am all for us neglected necros getting the fixes and justification we have been waiting for, ultimately I think it will be a “one step forward and two steps back” situation.

Well put Yukishiro. I think that is exactly the concept I have been trying to pinpoint myself about deathshroud. It is a class mechanic we are built around the does not work for our class in the slightest.
I like your idea of making it more like a regular f1 ability, and having ability use draining the around of deathshroud instead of it making out entire gameplay different.

i saw a thief in closed distance in pvp. and i used life siphon on him. and he just killed in 4 seconds. there was no a skill that i could escape from this. and most necromancer skills have casting delay.(you can’t use skill instantly like mesmer.)

one thing i dont understand is mesmer has high damages with many instant skills but necromaner skills are weak but those are not instant.

The part I am afraid of is them fixing ALL the bugs with the class , and all of a sudden everyone will start crying that necros are too powerful…which will result in an inevitable nerf. So as I see it we will get fixed only to be toned down eventually .

While this class may be broke and have bugs all over, I certainly don’t think it needs to be changed to have any of the things listed. If Anet has done one thing right with me, it was making this class unlike necromancers in other games like diablo.

I would love some sort of quest like this that is meant just for Necromancers. Something like having to choose several of tyria’s races to go out and collect different pieces to build your flesh golem. I don’t think it would be too hard to put it in as 3 possible story arcs and have 3 different looking flesh golems. A larger one , a medium sized, and a smaller sized one. People would have a greater affinity to their characters if they felt like they had a small choice in something like how their elite skill was made/ and is/ or looks.

Good idea imo. Not really top of the list of things the necro class needs at the moment , but good idea nonetheless.

If you could gain retaliation on any* heal, it would make the siphon on hit trait considerably OP. Like Morelia said, its meant just for use with the sixth slot skill only. That leads me to a quick question of if it works when you sacrifice the blood minion for HP or no?

Perhaps i am completely unaware of a deeper issue here. My understanding is that the youtube posters want monetization so they can make money from people watching the video ( from ads im assuming ) . Anets stance is they don’t want people to profit from making videos of the game.
I guess my real question would be , is the money made from monetization really that substantial that it warrants this reaction??

I like most of the ideas you present here Boz. The one thing I am not understanding is this part :

“Death Shroud itself would have a single change through the traits; the Death Grandmaster minor trait would cause the caster to grant 1s of regeneration to all of his minions every second while in Death Shroud.”

How come you picked for a passive for deathshroud to be healing minions? Just wondering. =)

I really wish feast of corruption did something else besides just damage based on the conditions on the target. My idea has always been to change it so it still does damage based on conditions on the target but also gives you stacks of temporary + condition damage based on the number of conditions. Say for somewhere around 5 second duration and make the cooldown on the spell a little longer. That way scepter condition based necros get a skill that can effectively be used to give us a little bit of burst in the way of upping the dot damage we have on the target for a short period of time.

Just an idea.

While there are a terrible many things wrong with necromancers at the moment, perhaps you should play a class past the beginning levels before judging it on how much damage it does. Personally I found leveling with my necro got much much better around level 20-30….then again when I hit 80 everything was downhill from there. Shrug.

Like I said:

when on land, when you change to death shroud form, your 3rd skill is called ‘doom’ this is a 1 second fear.

in the video the character lays down a noxius cloud ability (utility skill) and then uses doom->fear to make the mob run back into the cloud.

the fancy reaper animation is just propaganda :P

The necromancer in the video also never switches over to deathshroud at all. Im not saying its not really the doom spell , I’m just saying the graphical seen differences between this doom spell and the one we have are quite drastic. Even if it is propaganda it would be nice for them to change out the video. Not really high on the list of things to do but oh well. =)

The Flesh Golem in PVP it’s amazing. Player ussualy ignore them.. but i put them the traits of 30% damage, and siphon health. They have an AOE knowback and do pretty good damage :-)

My flesh golem in pvp has always gotten focused down pretty quickly. I have used him in WvW to take sentries / supply camps but that is about it.

Ah, your right….whatever spell that is used there seems alot different than anything we have currently. The necro is not in deathshroud and it seems like this doom spell is a Fear + a dot maybe? i wonder why there is a persistent reaper animation over the necromancer for it however. Looks very cool. I had totally forgotten about this video. Someone at Anet might want to take that video off the necro page as it is not in game at this current build and the actual doom spell is much different.

I think originally the non-elite necro pets were not meant to be ‘forever’ pets. this was probably a design decision to go along with how life-force is accumulated. But currently I do not think that life force is being generated when necro pets die ( possible bug ).

I don’t recall this DOOM spell you are referring to. Perhaps it was something they thought did not belong in the game just yet or changed into something else. I mean heck…DS originally was going to be our downed state technically….can you link a video showing this doom spell. I am quite interested in seeing what it is it did before being removed/changed or whatever they did with it.

From the first day these official forums opened the Necromancer section has been filled with complaints and suggestions on how to improve the class. There are several TL;DR threads explaining over and over again the small and big things that generally all necromancers feel is wrong with the class. Sadly , it seems every other class who is not complaining about anything needs to be worked on before they work with necro’s.

Anet Doesnt ‘owe’ me or anyone playing this game a word on what they intend to do. Or if they intend to do anything about necromancers.
But it sure would be nice if they at least gave us a hint.

I completely agree with most all of the points the Op listed out.
One thing he mentioned that constantly has been bugging me lately is our condition damage. Just like OP said, why are we, supposed masters of conditions, doing less conditions and less condition damage than other classes who are specced into direct damage builds. It feels like other classes can do exactly what I am supposed to be doing AND they get the added benefit of doing better direct damage.

You can look through some of the topics over at guru , they have discussed numerous times dagger/dagger builds for Spvp and Tpvp. I dont think I have ever seen a World Vrs dag mainhand build.

Go with a mark/wells build for keep/castle play. works really well spreading tons of conditions around and bleeding out people who are too dumb and sit knocking on your keep doors.

If I’m not going to be part of the main force I will usually spec deep into Minion Master and go capping either Sentry points of Supply points. You can do both of these things solo or duo. While you may not be rewarded or congratulated for your efforts, you will of made of difference overall.

Bleed only gets 5% of Condition damage?

I myself am now very very confused about how basic bleeding works. After reading all the information presented here in this thread.

what exactly does intesity do? Does it shorten the time between ticks? Does it cause the bleed dmg to be upped? In my play time I have always thought it caused my bleeds to just tick faster is all.

Sidenote: Really wish a dev would respond to more of the questions we have in the Necromancer community instead of just locking the threads that spiral out of control.

What is wrong with it and what do you want changed?

I think everyone agrees on minions needing a change.

Imo the skills during deathshroud feel like they lack synergy with the rest of the necros abilities. most necros use it as an Oh kitten button to delay/negate death. However the skillset you get while in this form suggests it to be more of a dps usage. What is it ultimately meant for? For being the masters of conditions/ bleeds , deathshroud is weirdly lacking in giving oout any DoT type damage. Just my 2 copper about it overall.

Might as well get one started since I knwo the necro community have alot of things we would like to suggest they either look into or possibly change. I’ll start…

1. Please look at the mechanics of Deathshroud and make it a little more viable and interesting.

2. Flesh golem and other minions AI needs some attention.

3. Using a waypoint clears your summoned minions but not the timer on the summon ability. Please alow either minons to travel with us or when waypoints are used minion summon abilities cooldown is reset.

Death Shroud

I agree that DS seemingly has no synergy with our regular weapon skills. DS however works very well by itself as an idea. Things i wish they could change about Deathshroud would be:

1: Instead of four skills give us 5 please, make one a stackable dot. Either bleed or poison or burning. Conditionmancers feel very left out here spamming lifeblast and watching the bleeds they just stacked on someone expire.

2:The fear feels very lackluster. I would love to see this either be a point blank AOE style or changed so that the single target becomes movement slowed, or vulnerable while feared.

3: I think giving a passive ability to the Deathshroud would possibly be the best change./addition. Something like Enemies within 600m have -healing or skills take longer to recharge.

Basically as others have said in the thread, the Deathshroud ability feels very lackluster in approach. Most necro’s do not switch to deathshroud until they are almost dead and I always felt it was an ability to be used to sort of weave in and out of combat. Please give us necros more reasons to utilize this ability ArenaNet.
