Certain dungeon recipes are great, if you get them to drop. They are just insanely rare.
Every dungeon runner in my guild has at least 250 or more repeats in the Hobby Dungeon Explorer track, running all paths regularly except SE2 and Arah4, and in total each of us has only gotten 2-5 recipes (some duplicates)
Recipe are linked to specific path and sometimes you need to complete something in particular to have that reward. For exemple, you can’t have the SE recipe of path 1 without killing the Commander next to the boss (don’t remember the name). Since nobody kill her, the recipe never drop.
But true. These recipe are rare. And if they were not, they would give zero profit.
1) I agree. It would be nice to have 6 major trait to choose and no minor trait. So you are not stuck with a minor trait that don’t help you at all in a particular situation.
2) I disagree. Adept/Master/Grandmaster allow for more powerful traits. If there is no distinction each trait need to be equal in strength. Its about balance and it’s ok like it is now. Maybe by giving more different possibilities in adept and master trait will allow you to always have a good trait if you really want a specific grandmaster, but they shouldn’t remove the distinction.
3) That would also be nice but… I like the idea of choosing the best stats that I need. But at the same time, make the choose between the best stats vs the best trait is a huge part of creating a good build. Either way are good for me.
You stack not because you enjoy it.
You do it because you want things handed to you on a silver platter
Not sure why you hate gaming and love farming/grinding.
Arrogant much? O.o
Get out of AC and go try Arah. You’ll find the challenge you’re looking for there.
Holy crap. Didn’t see that. Ya pretty arrogant.
- I don’t enjoy stack? You are right for some situation sure. But as a guardian I usually have a lot of things to do in a stack. I time my aegis, blind, wall, stability, etc. All to make sure the stack go well. As a Elementalist I make sure I have my rotation right so my party have as much might as possible. As a warrior I time my rotation to achieve maximum dps on my hundred blade, because I like to see the big numbers. Don’t do much dungeon with other profession so I can’t talk for them. But as Guardian, Ele or Warrior i usually have fun while stacking. Of course some stack can be boring, but that’s because of how the content is done, not because of stacking. But nice to you to explain how I feel about stacking.
- Because you try to make stuff as easy as you can, then you must want stuff giving to you on a silver plate? How dare you play basketball with running shoes. Why don’t you play with big boots, you want stuff to be handed to you on a silver plate? Why do you sit at range at a boss fight and don’t help your party max out their dps? You want the fight to be easy and be handed to you on a silver plate?
- I don’t like farming and grinding. That’s why I play dungeon when I want to play it. And when I want a particular item so much that I prefer do a lot more dungeon than usual then I want these dungeon to last as little as possible so I don’t get bore and I can play as much as possible into the part of the game that I like the most at the moment.
The game mechanics push toward stacking.
- Rezzing Down state is faster when you are close to each other
- Boons and other support have limited range
- Melee have an advantage over range
- Most bosses have weak auto-attack which some hard hitting attack
That’s the core of the fighting mechanics of the game. Until they changed that, stacking will always be the more efficient way to go when you can achieve it.
Personally, I don’t think its a bad thing. You don’t need to do it if you don’t want and its a nice thing to have when you want to keep the run as fast as possible after you did the dungeon a couple of hundred times.
I’m confused by this thread. At first I was sure it was a troll, but this is his first post, so maybe it’s a new troll, but you seem more like a new player.
‘’never figure it out to play make fun of him’’ ?? What are you trying to say here. You want to make fun of your guardian? Or you never figure out how to have fun while playing your guardian? Or you never figure out how to play it right while having fun?
Anyway. That’s a terrible build. Follow the links that other ppl posted. They explain 2 years of players trying different stuff and figuring out what is best on guardian.
It depend on which fractal you get and who make up your party. But it can go anywhere from 45min to 3 hours.
Probably that some speed run group can do it in less and some bad group can do it in more, but..
Just to give you an exemple.
First time me and my friend did AC. We were all between level 35 and 45. It took us about 3 hours and never completed the path. Today, we complete it in less than 15min.
Right now you have two things against you. You have a low level character with low level gear. And you have no knowledge of the path.
So ya, you will have a hard time in that dungeon. It is feasible, but hard. You really gonna have to find a group of player that are willing to bring you with them, explain the dungeon and carry you.
It would help you a lot, and that’s the advice that I give to all new member in my guild. Wait until you reach level 80. There is a lot of stuff in the open world that are easier to complete while leveling. At level 80, you will have a better understanding of the game in general and of your profession. You will be better equip to go into a dungeon. A group of player will only have to explain you the dungeon, but you will be able to carry your own weight.
It will be more fun and pleasant for you and the other player.
Like other ppl said. Buying rare gear (light is better for silk) from CoF, CoE, HotW and Arah and salvaging them will give you ectos.
For AC, SE, CM and TA, buying exotics and salvaging them is the best options.
One method that nobody talked about here is dungeon recipe. By doing dungeon, you can loot some special dungeon recipe. Those recipe are account bound so the item that you can craft from them are in limited numbers and can sell pretty high. But its highly dependant on which recipe you get. Some recipe will cost money to craft, other will give you a higher profit than salvaging armor from dungeon token.
You just need to be lucky enough to get some of these good dungeon recipe.
I pretty much agree with Silferas.
One S/X might stacking Elementalist, One Staff fury stacking Elementalist, One Warrior for banner.
Then other profession depending on the dungeon.
For boss fights where DPS is the most protracted, they are typically one target right? Do theives have most damage for that as well?
Thief do the most single target dmg. So ya when there is only a boss, they are the best. Of course, they bring little offensive support, small amount of defensive support, average dmg against group of enemy and are squishy, so overall in a instance they are limited (1 or 2 thief are good, not more). But ya if you are only counting personnal dps against a boss, they are the best at that.
Same here. Tornado was elite when you could boost Meteor shower in WvW and FGS was elite when you could burst down a boss. But since then, i never use any elite skill on my ele. I understand the FGS change, but right now FGS is pretty much useless.
Incidentally don’t discount an engi’s stealth. I think I’ve 14 seconded before when necessary. Had to smoke bomb, Big Ol Bomb, Thumper, sheild and then throw elixr. But you can get incredible stealth out of it when done right.
I’m really not sure on the final DPS count for theif vs engi in small groups. My bombs always seem to do alright (gernades just don’t do it for me from a play fun perspective), and the condi’s are a great kicker. Plus my runes give 7% damage against burning, which I can constantly keep up (even easier with guardian). I can’t be that far behind
Ya the Engi can give some good stealth, but its a lot less practical. Thief can stealth the party for a longer period and with more ease.
Saying that thief have better dmg against small group don’t mean that Engi have a bad dps. But thief is the highest single target dps of the game. With dagger hitting 2 targets. But as you get more target, the engi will start to do more and more damage since it can hit more target each time.
That would be true if you could change map instance by your own. But on some occasion I couldn’t find a looking for group with a non chest farm and the only map I spawned in was a chest farm map. Btw i’m no qqing here. I farmed chest and don’t really care. But i can understand why some ppl were kitten off by chest farmer.
Of course, this was mainly a problem until Saturday. Sunday, ppl figure out the farm and started to make specific non chest farm lfg.
guardian/engi work too. But I proposed guardian and thief because :
Thief will allow you to skip anything skippable. Engi little stealth won’t help my guardian much, the thief will.
Guardian can keep the team alive for a longer period, when you fight.
Thief have a higher dps than engi agaisnt smaller group (3 target and less), and when you duo, you want to fight smaller group than with a party of 5.
Thief can melee while almost constantly evading with sword/pistol.
Thief stealth can make some part of an instance way easier. Like the basement in CM path 1.
Guardian/Engie is good, but i prefer Guardian/Thief
No. I compare the weapon of the Elementalist.
Overall the D/D have some advantage compare to other Ele weapons and some disadvantage. These advantage/disadvantage make D/D a less attractive weapons set for PvE, but a good weapon set for PvP. That’s all.
No problem, i wasn’t super clear on that. Phalanx build or PS, will give might to the whole party, compared to the standard 6/5/0/0/3 that only give might to you.
Miku is right. But if you don’t take into account reflect (which represent a big portion of the content), then the solo Warrior with have more dps than a guardian because he can bring offensive support for himself, while the guardian is limited in that.
So a guardian will outdps a Warrior, but they need the offensive support of a warrior to do so.
Anyway, you don’t bring either a warrior or a guardian for their dps. You bring a warrior for its offensive support (banner, EA, might, etc), and you bring a guardian for its defensive support (aegis, blind, protection, reflect, etc)
The build Purple Mike gave you is pretty much the standard optimal PvE build for warrior. You can’t go wrong with that.
Another options would be Phalanx Warrior. It have less dps, but give a HUGE amount of might (once your build is complete, it will keep your party at 25 might). It’s good for non-organized group like pug.
The traits are 0/5/0/6/3 also with GS + Axe/Mace.
There is also some variation of those build for people using Pure Greatsword, or Pure Axe. They are less optimal, but can still do the job if you don’t like using GS + Axe/Mace.
It would be nice, but the price would probably go up. I prefer to be able to give these item to a specific character in that case.
Yes If the price stay at the same level, I’m all for account wide. But this won’t happen so.
Yes I know. In my original post I said that D/D was good in sPvP and Roaming, but not so much in PvE compare to other weapons. You disagree on my position that D/D have good burst, but less sustain. To which I responded, compare to staff and LH, yes its have less sustain, which is true. That’s why LH is for PvE and D/D is for PvP.
1) Range or Melee. In PvE only Ele Staff or Ranger Longbow are in par with melee weapons. In PvP you don’t have that kind of limitation on range weapon.
2) Attack first. That’s my gameplay on my guardian. On an Ele or Thief is this suicidal. It hard but you will have to restraint yourself in PvE.
3) Big numbers. Thief, Ele and Warrior have the biggest numbers.
4) Nice Animation. That’s pretty subjective. Elementalist, Mesmer, Guardian have the most effects and light. Necro have some dark and green kind of smoke in some animation. The Warrior and Thief have some cool move but not much effects. The ranger rapid fire is awesome, it look like a machine gun.
5) Dungeon : Not Necro. Fractal : Guardian, Mesmer and Thief are fantastic for some. WvW zerg : Warrior, Guardian, Ele and Necro are best, but all can participate. WvW Roam and sPvP : Mesmer and Thief are on top, but most can do a decent job.
6) Easy to learn? Elementalist can be hard to play in PvE if you want to reach full DPS. Engineer can be hard to play in sPvP if you want to play the top build with all the kits. Mesmer can be hard to get into until you reach level 80 because its highly dependent on your trait. But really don’t worry too much you can always play easier build for each of those profession. All profession are easy to learn, just some specific build are harder.
7) Skill point? A guess a thief have an easier time on that, but it shouldn’t be a factor on your decision. It’s on of the most trivial part of the game.
“Fractal LvL X: Swamp ready!”
It depend on the level and the situation. When you do a high level, you want to start with swamp so you don’t end up with Urban, Cliffside, Volcanic and Mai Trin. Especially when you are with a pug group. The time you complete Urban in a pug, will probably superior than the time you find another group with swamp.
“LFG Zerker only pls! Gear Check.”
Completing a dungeon with a good full DPS group is just nice. I really like having a good party with everyone doing their job and having good build. It make it just so much nicer, fun and fast. But I don’t search for those. If i end up in a good party, nice. But I won’t wait for gear check. Still, I don’t mind if other ppl like that. From time to time, i join those group and I’m happy to comply and link my gear.
“LFP, 2 Warriors, 1 Mesmer, 1 Guard only!” (example)
This specific? That’s weird, never saw that. I can understand someone asking for 1 profession like a guardian or mesmer in Arah, SE or Fractal. Or a thief in fractal, CM or Arah. If your party lack a specific profession that can make your dungeon way easier. But to specific a complete group?? Never saw that, don’t really get it either.
“LFG, 5000AP + only”
Again? That discussion is still going on? Ya its a bad way to seperate good players vs noobs. But its the only we have. I don’t do that, but I don’t care if someone else want to do it. Can we pls stop with the AP LFG already.
Maybe, i don’t know. At this point we kill it in 10-20sec depending on my party. It work when I play with good and less good players in my guild. So I’m good with that.
1) D/D have good burst dmg, low sustain, low offensive support and good mobility, which make it a good Roaming or sPvP weapons set.
Celestial D/D ele is one of the specs with insane sustain and good damage/mobility. Wouldn’t say it has low sustain or high burst.
Compare to what? On staff you have a constant field field that hit like a truck (i repeat constant), and on S/X you melee with the LH with one of the highest auto-attack.
D/D or D/F on the other hand is about a rotation that use a couple of skill with high cooldown like fire grab. I don’t say it’s bad. I just say that its better in PvP than PvE, while S/X with LH is better in PvE than PvP. Anyway, Celestial D/D in PvP that great. Bring that in PvE, no thanks.
Earth dagger 5 doesn’t count, too much of a dps loss.
Its still a blast finisher. The cast time of Earth dagger 5 is the reason I prefer Focus while in combat. I keep dagger when I move between objective. But when you want to stack might in place dagger is better.
Let say you are at kholer, I have dagger and get at kholer first, start to stack might, by the time everybody is in place and kholer reach us, I went throught all my blast including earth 5 and it didn’t hurt my dps because i did it before we could attack kholer anyway. Same with the boss of AC path 3 and others.
Focus when I can go to the enemy, Dagger when we need to make the enemy come to us.
A couple months ago ppl wouldn’t have propose Ranger, but they fixed the profession that it now more on par with the others in PvE.
It’s one of the two profession with a really good range weapon that can compete with melee weapons in PvE (It’s his longbow, the other being the Ele’s staff). And you have some good mix of melee weapons like sword/axe, sword/warhorn, greastword.
It have a medium armor with a medium amount of hp, so you can go full DPS with your gear and trait without much problem (especially since you can range without losing too much dmg)
To be fair, it’s not like the QQing make the chest farm fix. The second I saw the farm (and yes I did for a couple hours myself), i knew and my guildmates too, that it will be nerf really soon. Our bet was on monday and we were right. Any QQing that could happen didn’t change the fact that it was a broken situation.
Personaly, I found it easy to come back to gw2. It’s to stay in the game that become more and more difficult. I already did most of the stuff that I wanted to do in the game and new content enter the game at a low pace. I don’t blame them. I still prefer that low pace and no monthly fee. But if for 2 years I wasn’t so much pro-expansion, I think it time that they ask the community to pay for a good chunk of content or else they gonna lose more and more players over time.
I left the game for about 2-3 months, came back 3 weeks ago and I already start to play other games more. And if I didn’t have a active guild with a lot of my friends in it, i wouldn’t play the game for a long time.
I just don’t see the need for it. If you simply want to have the best gear available, then you will have to put forth the effort that thousands of others have.
OP was pretty clear on that. Its not about the amount of effort neeeded to get the gear. Its about the restricted way to get it. Let take some exemple.
- For me it super easy to craft an ascended armor. I got 2 heavy and 1 medium. With a light armor on the way. But I enjoy most of the stuff that I need to do to get the material for the armor.
- Some of my friend play twice as much as me but don’t have any armor. They play WvW mostly with only some PvE dungeon run like 1-2 per week. They need to play the PvE they dislike to get the armor they want to play in WvW. See the problem?
- Same with someone who play only sPvP. They won’t have much silk or linen, etc.
- Same with a guy that don’t like dungeon.
- What about ppl that have only a small guild? Their accessory will cost them so much more.
- For someone playing fractal, rings are super easy to get. For someone who don’t, it will cost more.
Different path to get ascended should be available and should be equal in term of effort. If I needed to get most of the stuff I need to craft an ascended armor from sPvP, i would not have a complete armor yet because I only play from time to time. I would hate that, and I can understand why other ppl hate how the system work right now.
For the RNG. They should have 1 type of ascended armor chest and 1 type of ascended weapon chest. And you should be able to choose both what specific armor pieces/weapons AND what stats you want. Don’t change the number of drop, they should be rare. But that way, everytime you get a chest you can use it. In my guild we dropped about 20 ascended chest. Only 2 of those were used, the rest was kittenty stats.
Ya, if the symbol wasn’t a field, the hammer will be so much nice to play. It wouldn’t make it stronger, just group play friendlier.
Lol that’s horrible. So 2013
1) D/D have good burst dmg, low sustain, low offensive support and good mobility, which make it a good Roaming or sPvP weapons set. But offer very little in PvE.
2) Forget COMPLETELY about heal. It a waste of time, especially in PvE. You will never be able to heal yourself faster than you get damaged. The only place where healing work is blasting water field in WvW with 10 other ppl.
Oxtred said it pretty much.
The only thing is S/D have as much blasts as S/F. But S/D is better to stack migh before a fight, while S/F is better to stack might on your target. S/F will be faster since you do dmg while stacking might but sometime you can be interrupted or being killed while doing your rotation next to an enemy. S/D on the other hand will make sure you enter the fight with your might already to kill stuff fast enough to not kill you. They are both useful in specific situation and specific gameplay style.
I suggest you to finish at least one character. The game is better at level 80, if you start several character but never finish one, you may have a hard time to get into the game.
Of course if you dislike one profession, that’s another problem and you should change.
This is just two different kind of game. Sure they are both MMO, but don’t think they attract the same kind of player. I played 2 weeks of WoW and couldn’t go any further. I hated this system of game. Waiting for a tank, having 30-40 skills in my bars, grinding level and gear over and over, etc. I just can’t.
They are both good game, just different. Whatever these standard MMO does, i won’t play them. But with GW2, there is just something about it. Each time I stop playing because they don’t give us much new content, I always came back and get hooked again in the game.
I wouldn’t mind if they changed it, but I’m fine with the way it is right now. Guardian is my main since the game launch (minus a month).
I like to use the 2 first attack of the chain on a enemy and having the time to start the animation on the same enemy, but moving to a second just as the hammer hit him instead
It depend on what part of the game you prefer. PvE, WvW Zerg or WvW Roaming?
It’s a casual working build. Not great, low dmg, but high surviability.
Scepter/focus is made for stacking might. You shouldn’t use it as you main dmg source. You should have the Lighing Hammer for that. You start a fight with Scepter/Focus to pump might, then use LH to do dmg.
Overall i saw a lot worst in build. You should at least either use S/F for might stacking only, or switch to D/F, which is a better stand alone weapon set.
Well, keep in mind that Living Story season 2 was probably being worked during the last year, while doing CDI. It wasn’t completed, but we already know that they were working on the story and the arts in the same period they were working on the CDI. So of course they will finish what they started before starting something new. They seem to have modified a bit season 2 with remark they got from the CDI, but the heart of the CDI content will probably came after season 2.
At least that’s my guess. Now, if they launch a living story season 3 before anything of CDI is in the game, then there will be question to ask.
Guardian + Thief can pretty much get you through everything. They are FAR from being the best at specific task, but they have to a lot of utilities to get you thought different kind of situation. Thief will stealth and can run through stuff, guardian can protect the team, both can blind so much.
Elementalist + Warrior is a excellent dmg duo. Together, they can pretty much max most offensive buff of the game (not all of them, but almost). They will be ideal for speed running, but mistake can be costly and some content will be hard to go through.
Mesmer + anything can also be great. Mesmer have access to a lot of utilities that can be pretty awesome. Portal, TW, feedback, etc. They can make specific situation way more easier if you know how to use it.
But really, anything + anything is ok.
The best way would be to find a guild that do dungeon/fractal but that are casual or casual friendly.
Start by mastering the basic of dungeon, like you said they are easier to learn, so you have the basic about build, what most people except for a specific profession and how to play through an instance.
You can ask for help in the LFG, just make sure you specified that you are new, so people don’t assume you know your stuff and get mad when they figure out you don’t.
If you have 2 friends, you can probably go through all fractals at level 1. It will be hard, but you will be able to experiment by yourself and have a basic understanding of fractals. But don’t go in less than 3 ppl total or you won’t be able to complete them all.
- If you have a surplus of Laurel, you can sell them for tier 6 crafting bag that each give you 3 random tier 6.
- Some tier 5 can be transform in tier 6 with profit. But not all of them at all time. The market fluctuate, check it out before you do it. Sometime you win with that, sometime you are better to sell them.
- Champion bags can give you a good amount. Right now, the chest farm in the new map Silverwaste is probably the best way to do that (but it will be nerf soon, i’m sure).
Even if GW2 is really different from other standard MMO, it’s still a MMO. It a HUGE game with a lot of gameplay, term, lore, etc to learn. Enough to overwhelm most people.
Take it slow, you gonna learn everyday about this game. You probably don’t have to go through most of the stuff that you find irritating. There is probably a way in the game for you to skip those part and go for what you find fun, but you just don’t know them yet. It’s a pretty general question that is hard to answer.
The best for you, would be to get a casual guild (like most ppl already pointed out). They will have most of the answers for all those question you will have as you play the game. You can also ask specific question here in the forums.
Good Luck
Its a free to play game. They don’t have an income as high or as stable as WoW have (and even WoW make you pay most of the new stuff with expansion).
A lot of little things were changed since the beginning of the game. And a lot of these make a lot of difference. But these take time with a limited budget. Even worst, not everybody want the same thing. Some of the changes they did was nothing for me, but a big deal for other. So maybe Anet didn’t do the 2 or 3 things that you wanted the most, but that doesn’t mean that they didn’t do other stuff that other people wanted the most.
For me, i’m still waiting for the new Legendaries, precusors crafting and SAB. But a lot of people that I know, don’t really care about that. Hell, some people would hate if Anet wasted time on a new SAB world.
Did Anet did the best on some issues? Not really. New Legendaries and precursors crafting was suppose to be in the game a year ago according to Anet.
Did Anet should pay more people to get an paid expansion out? Maybe. I know I would pay for that and would love all the content that would come out of it.
But I think the CDI was a good idea. We already see some of the stuff that was talked about. But between talked about a issue on a forum and the implementation in the game, there will be a long long time. Because of reality and money.
I have all profession at level 80. Here the benefits.
- I tried most profession which was fun.
- I learned how these profession work so I can understand my friend when we talk about them, but i’m also better in PvP since I know what the other profession can do.
- I wanted to have at least 4 chars to have all 8 crafting professions.
- I always played between 1 and 3 characters, never more. But they changed over time. I started with my engineer as main. Then my guardian became my main and my engineer in sPvP and WvW. Then my Guardian became my main in PvE and WvW zerg. Then I played my Mesmer in dungeon. Then I played my Elementalist in dungeon. And now I play Guardian everywhere and my thief in sPvP and WvW roaming. That gave me different playstyle and allowed me to really figure out which profession I love the most.
- A couple alts that you can park in a specific place is awesome. I use to have all my alts that I don’t play at Orr to farm orichalcum when I wanted to craft vision of the mist. Then they all went for Iron and Platinum when i wanted to craft my ascended heavy armor. Now, they are all in Malchor Leap to get foxfire out of Elder wood. I just take 10min to go thought 6 or 7 character and get the material I want in the moment. I don’t always use them, but they are ready if i need them.
IF those aoes did significant damage and weren’t with long cooldowns, and if conditions were worth anything in group pve, then yes. But condis suck and you’d be better with dagger small cleave and wells.
Hmmmmm much different then other mmo’s I have played. . . more information and research will be needed it seems. . .
Condition in PvE is a huge problem since day 1 and Anet don’t seem to be about to fix it. Its not bad, but for efficiency reason they are capped. 1 condition player will pretty much capped them by their own, making any other condition damage player useless in a dungeon or any other group content.
Condition are good if you solo, but since most people play in group, everybody use direct damage. Since Necro is better at condition than direct dmg, they are automatically view as one of the worst class for PvE.
But keep in mind worst class in PvE, don’t mean that they can’t participate or are horribly bad. They are just not as good as the other profession in that particular part of the game. They are in the top professions in sPvP and WvW.
You would be better with Dagger/Focus build. This will give you better option in PvE setting than D/D. A build like 6/6/2/0/0 will be pretty self-sufficient and give a bit of everything in term of offensive support (Vulnerability, Might and Fury).
Do you already have celestial ascended trinket? If not try to get zerker trinkets and then check between a soldier armor and a knight armor depending on much passive defense you need. If you already have celestial trinket, then really really really don’t go full soldier armor. Even on my WvW frontline guardian I don’t have as much defensive stats as that and I jump in the middle of big ennemy zerg. You will have so little dps, that you won’t be really that useful for your group. Maybe a mix of zerker and knight or a mix of zerker and soldier would be a better solution for you.
I can only talk about the people I play with in my guild, but like Tom Ysf said, a lot of people were doing Labyrinth for money or for candy to get the last Halloween reward they wanted (Kuzu the mini cat).
And now with the return of the Living story and a new map a lot of people focus on that while their achievement are easier to complete. By next week, people will get back to doing more dungeon.
I play on these map on my zerker character without much problem. It can be hard, and I die more often on this new map than usual, but that’s what make it so fun. Most of the game can be solo even if it a MMO, so a if Anet can add a bit of harder group content, i’m happy. The game can have different content for different people.
