Target arrow. The downed arrow is above the character making the video. At 7:51, you can see the downed arrow on the mesmer appearing directly behind the clone.

There are several shots where both the ele and the mesmer are downed. The ele has a downed arrow, and there is a clone visible with a target arrow. Great moment to compare the two. I think it’s at 7:53 or something, can’t be bothered to hunt it again now.
That’s not the downed arrow. That’s what I’ve been trying to say.
BIG ARROW – DOWNED
SMALL ARROW – TARGET
What four? There are only two, and one doesn’t work 90% of the time.
I’m not diluting anything. People are wrong. I am just writing what I know to be true. I have never seen a clone with a DOWNED arrow above his head, and I’ve never seen a mesmer without one. People are probably confused about the TARGET/DOWNED arrows.
It’s not moot, one elite is canceled, the other elite cancels the first and gets full effect; making the cancellation just a bonus.
~240 damage per second won’t kill anything fast. Six ticks of it won’t kill a clone by itself.
There are two types of arrows:
TARGET – the arrow that appears above your target. It’s not very large. Appears over anything you target, including clones.
DOWNED – the arrow that appears above a downed player. Larger, more detailed. Appears only above players, not clones, no targeting required.
The mesmer will always spawn second, often spawn further back from the clone, behind the clone’s back (when you see the clone spawn, look in the direction his back is turned for the real one to appear). The mesmer will always have the arrow above his head, the clone never will.
I can imagine anet changing this, but I’m not counting on it.
In SPVP only players rally, thankfully. And Fetid Ground is in no way an advantage, it’s poison. Poison. Not gonna kill anyone any time soon.

If I use a skill, and I manage to kill someone because of that skill… how is that a waste?
Can’t quote… again.
Anyways, what Simplicity wrote about necros winning a 1v1 downed fight vs mesmers, especially condition necros… is completely untrue. It’s not even a combat, mesmer wins, end of story. We can hope to gain POISON! He can hope to gain a phantasm that will deal ~5k damage in two seconds. The necro downed 1 skill deals next to no damage in a condition build, and the mesmer is likely to have power so his will be better. The healing is miniscule without +healing gear, and even with it is mostly unimpressive.
Also, bleeds will take too long to work. A shatter or phantasm mesmer WILL kill the necro before the necro can stack enough bleeds to down the mesmer. It’s not a matter of figuring out the real one, that’s trivial, but you just can’t match him in DPS, and being stealthed for half the fight does WONDERS for the mesmer’s survivability. The necro has a chance against a condition mesmer that focuses on confusion and bleeds, but those guys are rare, and not the brightest bulbs in the box.
So by that logic, most characters should be perfectly fine and viable without a second weapon swap because “you don’t need to swap weapons if you don’t want to”?
So it’s a 2v1 fight with your necro and another necro or guardian (what kind of team has two necros!?) vs a lone mesmer?
4v5 is an advantage?
Conditions are removed on down. Boons stay. Just saying.
So the advice is “if you get moa’d, simply survive easily for 10 seconds of doing nothing while he’s bombarding you with bleeds/phantasms/shatters, and then just kill him”?
…
Have you people ever even entered the Mists!?
Also can’t do them in elite forms, and those are our only stability sources.
Of all the problems moa has, this one is the least.
Forum ate my long reply, so here’s a short one.
Traits, skills and items should all be locked in PVP once the match starts. In WvW, it should be locked as soon as you’re outside of a friendly fort.
Otherwise, we might be seeing just the tip of the swap iceberg. Imagine placing builds on a macro so that, as soon as you see an enemy character, you can press a button and load that character’s exact counter.
It’ll fail to pull even on perfectly flat surfaces, such as the Foefire mid. It will knock down, so you know it’s not stability or something like that.
I laugh because they’re not using time warp.
I agree, mesmers that use the moa instead of warp are bad and should feel bad, but these bad mesmers keep winning fight after fight because of it. Moa is better than 90% of the other elites in the game, it’s just that warp is better than it in turn, making it better than 95% of the elites in the game.
Axe never, staff forever.
Well, at least until they buff the hell out of axe. And minions, since it’s theoretically a minion weapon.
*tune
Also, as far as Ranger goes, he can be likened to a Necromancer in the way that he only has one viable PvP build (quickness power shortbow), but that build rocks all kinds of socks, so he is much better off.
Not only minions, every single necro elite is countered by Moa.
Defensive boons and support skills? You mean like regeneration, chilled, fear, condition removal, etc?
Thank you for proving the point of the thread to everyone.
Mesmer elites are all substantially better than most other classes elites, and they don’t even need to use them.
There are more important stuff than taking someone out of the fight for 10 seconds with no removal options?
I would add a real scythe as a necro weapon skin that uses the staff skills. And the staff should get a new set of skills which are all defensive support skills that grant boons or heal your minions and allies.
This makes sense how?
Yes, Moa Morph is the single most unique elite in the game because it has a cooldown, casting time, and it can be evaded.
I play mesmer. I am not OP. I know how to play. Our elites are not OP. You need to learn to play.
Your input is appreciated.
Can we expect compensation?
Question: For how long does Barbed Precision bleed, and does it have an ICD?

You can get two (45 (2x Krait/Afflicted/Centaur) + 20 (Hemophilia) + 30 (Spite) + 10 (Agony)). You shouldn’t.
Bad.
Also, no build, just random match gameplay.
Passive speed increases do not stack. Best you can get is 10%. Two daggers don’t stack to 15.
You only really have a few options:
Use a warhorn (don’t)
Use Dark Path
Use Spectral Grasp (long cooldown, unreliable)
Use Spectral Walk (even longer cooldown)
Desolation here, Arah, CoF and CoE have been bugged for the past 20 or so hours.
This is the most entertaining boss encounter I’ve found in the game so far.
Just wanted to say that.
Don’t touch the staff.
The MM already has a minion weapon combo. It’s axe + focus and staff. It is a ranged combination that gives him a source of vulnerability, cripple, regeneration, chill, and transfers conditions from minions to enemies. If the trait decides to work, the minions pull condiitons from you to themselves, so that’s nice.
All the minions need is:
1. Functional AI.
2. Being affected by stats.
3. Buffed damage output and health.
I was wrong
0 becomes Leave Plague Form.
Sadpanda.
So if the game steals 135 tokens from me in three days, I should be silent?
Did three dungeons in three days for the first time ever (CoF #1, HotW #1, Arah #3), got 15 tokens, 6.5 silver and kitten for drops in each try. Waste of my time. When can I have my stuff, ANet?
I play Necro.
I have never lost a TPVP match when playing against a Necro.
I have never won a Khylo match when the enemy team had more Mesmers than we did.
You can be sure about Plague, because 0 does NOT change to Exit Plague Form after using Plague.
It’s a brilliant rune as it is right now, and works great in PvP when coupled with a hydromancy sigil in the second weapon set. Buffing it to work on any kind of skill with a healing or regeneration component would be beyondkitten and would allow 100% uptime of one of be best soft CCs in the game.
I would be fine with the life force bar filling up to/draining down to 35% after every fight at a rate of 3% per second.
It happens to me a lot. Mostly due to lag. I can definitely confirm that it’s NOT an issue of accidentally clicking twice, at least not in most circumstances.
SoEarth has NO CD, is affected by Hemophilia and other bleed/condition extenders, isn’t affected by Lingering Curse.
Yes, thank Grenth that Necros start all fights and matches with a full Life Force bar.
How to approach 3 tics? Best I could get is 15 + 15 + 15 (2x krait, centaur and afflicted) + 20 (bleeding trait) + 30 (condition duration trait line) + 20 (2x bleed sigils) = 115%. What else is there?
