I hate the one with the giant… Little to no reward for killing it.

Hiya.

Has anyone else tried encountering what must be a bug with
signet of mercy? I was standing close to a vista, trying to get to it.
I wanted to activate Retreat for the speed boost, but misclick and
thus start channelling the signet instead.

Firstly my character then freezes in the channel pose, as I also tried to
stop the channeling by dodging. But then when I try change one of my
skills which are beside the signet (which is now on CD) that skill goes on
CD too. What’s worse is, the CD was the length of the signets. 240 seconds.
When the skill itself otherwise had a CD of only 60 seconds. So then I had
2 abilities on a 240 sec CD, when I had only used one of them.

Sad that you’re waiting just because of a name really. Kind of stupid.
Although I DO understand how you feel about it. I guess there’s little
point in saying that maybe you should just pick the next best thing.

I actually like the Fern Mastiff. It’s good to be able to create
one and it has been useful at times. I’m unsure about getting
Renewed Focus.

So as you know, each profession is only able to equip specific weapons.
Well how does this tie in very well with the fact that there are quests
wherein you might utilize weaponry you couldn’t normally?

I play a Guardian. Therefore, I can’t equip any manner of gun or rifle.
However there are several quests which I’ve come upon, wherein I’m able to
carry one such rifle, as if it were second nature. I believe this doesn’t tie in very
well with the aforementioned limitations. So what would people think of
some of these quests being remade, so that you still stay within your professions
limitations and merely have to solve the quest in a different manner. This would
bring a slight pinch of diversity into the mix, because then people would get slightly
different questlines depending on their profession.

I put the thread in this forum, because I’m not trying to suggest a change,; just get peoples opinions.

Shame if you like to share some of your wealth with a
friend or two, at some point then.

It would be kind of nice if somehow your character could be saved
locally, as well as on their servers. So that it would have to muck up both
places in order for you to lose your character. But argh… This is scary stuff.
I REALLY hope some proper backup systems come into play real quick to prevent
and/or stop this kind of thing !

What is this new build stuff exactly? I mean I don’t
see any “patch” notes and they come quite frequently.
So what is it?

Indeed. I think most think the Engineer is quite boring.
And when you look at the description on this very site, it doesn’t
seem so appealing ^^ The choice of color, icons and so on; when
compared to the others.

Thing is, scouts icons disappear on the maps too.
And I’ve found that I can’t even talk to them when I actually need it, even
if I may have done it before. Thus leading to using /wiki and looking up
the map, because I simply don’t want to waste energy looking for ONE
heart or something silly, for ages on end.

Lmao. This is a serious oversight indeed. I wonder what other griveous
mistakes Arenanets devs have committed.

I wouldn’t play wow ever. Just the amount of money you waste on it over the course of getting the game and playing it… Is enourmous. First there’s the expense at getting the game in the first place. Then there’s the monthly subscription. Then the expansion packs. Then you might play for years. 12 months of paying. For several years? Madness.

I’m glad where GW2 is heading, or at least what it started. I hope it’ll become like WoW, in the sense that it’ll become really big and last ages and ages. I like the radical approach.

The OP is right, all that hype and excitement and there’s no friggin’ reward. Three weeks of glitchy quests and excessive mob density to 80 with a bit of alt-ing mixed in and all I get for my effort is a low-paying grind. And you all know full well it’s because A-net wants us to buy gems and spend them on in-game gold. The game didn’t even ship with enough bank space for ONE character, let alone five. And it SHOULD have shipped with EIGHT character slots, so I can try out ALL of the different classes. It feels like I spent $60 of birthday money on a ‘free-to-play’ game when I should have bought Skyrim after all.

You do know that any Elder Scrolls game gets pretty bad after a few hours of play. Like, it starts to lag, freeze etc. Whether on PC or console, due to the file becoming too large. Sooo… Talk about a waste? The game(s) still get 10/10 for some reason.

I think it’s kind of cool and yet kind of not. Feels odd if you have good armor
which you’ve been working towards the whole game and then suddenly it’s not
worth as much ^^. But I see some valid arguments and I suppose that even if the
system in the end were a bad one, it still does a lot of good. Except for perhaps making
many areas desolate, but I guess that’s another issue.

I like this idea actually. It’s a small thing however.
Many times though, it’s hard to guess someones level if they’ve
been scaled down.

At least with the staff the basic attack actually prompts
an animation which makes use of the staff itself. Which is my main
gripe with the trident, when it doesn’t do so.

Or perhaps you could turn it around and say, give each player the ability to color each commander icon to what they like. Afterall, they’re the ones who are going to be looking at it. Plus, I personally, wouldn’t like to be at the mercy of someone elses quite possibly horrible sense for coloring ^^.

I guess we can say this is just one of the racial disadvantages ^^
And benefits. Since it surely warrants more respect having completed
a puzzle with a huge Charr, than with a little Azura. Due to the camera
of course. The camera is terrible and yet I think it serves to up the difficulty.

I’m not sure whether I should take this thread seriously or not.
I can’t quite tell. But hey maybe it’ll go away ! Unless you’re able to
say that it has been on for some time now.

1 – Use a program to monitor temperature (as suggested above)

2 – Don’t place your laptop on things that obstruct air-flow or the same location for too long. Otherwise, sometimes (depending on fan location) you can use something to lift up the back-end of the laptop, so air can still pass through.

3 – Invest in a laptop-cooling pad. They both serve to raise your laptop, but also add an extra fan to help keep it cool.

4 – Find out what kind of laptop you have and search for videos on how to dissasemble it. Might seem daunting, but a good video, patience and the right tools can help you do it. Then you can clear out any dust that is contained in or near the fan. Alternatively, you can buy a can of compressed air, which might make you able to blow out the dust, without taking apart your laptop.

5 – Don’t have too many things running in the background. A program called Gamebooster can help with this.

I wasn’t really aware of that other professions had the same issue.

It’s one of those abilities which sound really neat and gets you in
that supportive “mood” and then lets you down.

Well just try write a swear word (don’t for kittens sake) lol and you’ll
see that lovely profanity filter kicking. I like it actually. Kitten is a cute word.
Now I use it for real when swearing, when I start feeling bad about how much
I swear. For KITTENS SAKE THAT AOE DAMAGE!!!

You’d have to think carefully and perhaps input some restrictions.
Because killing a few things with your offhand weapon isn’t going to be
difficult if you can just go to one of the starter areas/zones and use it there,
which does 999 damage at that point : p. Haha. But maybe you could tailor
these, so that each class gets their own variant of achievements.

Like many of you, I’m not the biggest fan of under-water combat.
You don’t have access to the same skills, you’ve got more dimensions
to account for and the choices of weaponry are very limited.

I’m wondering about the Trident. I find it really odd, that when I find or may
find, an awesome looking trident, I won’t get to use it. Not really. Because
when you use it, all your abilities come from your left hand, the empty hand.
This means the trident looks like it’s more of an obstacle, than a real weapon, because you can imagine your character fighting to survive under water, while having to hold this pointy thing.

Thoughts? I should think that if they can create an animation where the Mesmer shoots from a Greatsword, they can kitten well do the same for a trident ! ^^

If you get disappointed all the time, how about lowering your expectations for a change.

Dueling has been mentioned and probably will be implemented at some point. But it’s not a priority.

Not being able to queue up from anywhere shouldn’t be such a big thing. It’s a detail, yes. One they’ll perhaps consider.

I’d like to see some kind of crowdsourcing of this botting issue ^^.

And trust me, I did try tell the others there was no point. Because you NEED a huge amount of people to defeat a champion. At least easily. And huge is a term that varies, depending on where you are. If you’re in one of those low-populated areas, then huge could very well be 5+ people.

Not all champions are hidden away though. I know where there’s a champion wurm right next a waypoint, out in the open. No one has killed it yet.

I just checked the gem store and I found some pretty cool costumes.
I have a question though. The costumes are “consumeable” so does this mean
they can only be used one time? And will they also be able to be used after
Halloween is over?

Secondly, I want to ask what the point is, in organizing the costumes into light, medium & heavy armor sets. That means, my Guardian can only wear 1 of the 3 costume sets. Isn’t that a bit poor though? Luckily they’re account bound, so I could just make a new character. But still, what do you think of this?

Lastly, there’s a spelling mistake in all of their descriptions ^^. It’s spelled “piece” not peice

see these little dogs swarming around this other, bigger dot. Then some flashes and then a mysteriously well known icon above several of their heads. A blue one.

I’ve been playing very little too, but have been playing since headstart. I’m currently lvl 78. Just by completing zones, doing hearts, an occasional dragon, killing and gathering. The xp u get from the daily achievements can really be a boost on a player that has little time.

(unfortunately there’s still no rabbit slayer achievement, i must’ve killed a 1000 or more…)

Nothing new here. Been said many times already. . .

But I was just in an area for levels 15-25s and a waypoint was
contested. I thought I’d try help out for once, see if I could clear it, because
it’s a drag not being able to teleport there. Now I see why contested points
stay contested for ages.

What I found was a Giant, who was a Champion. He had slaughtered the whole NPC town. I started reviving a bunch of them (this is kind of exploitable by the way).
Eventually 1, then 2 more players show up and we attack the Giant.

He not only had a TON of health for our level, but he could kill the NPC guards with 1 hit. Which does make me wonder why the guards gets such cool uniforms and weapons when they’re actually that weak. But nevermind. The point was, we tried to kill the giant. He could take any one of us from full health to almost none, with 1 stone throw. Alternately he could do a huge AOE fear on us and then send a wave through the ground to knock us down. While we noticed that we were slowly killing him… We discovered that 3 times or so, he just healed himself up to full health again.
What is this?

So eventually we just left it. He’s not assaulting the town anyway. The only concequence of his actions are NPC’s laying dead and the waypoint being contested. This really needs to be looked at dear developers. I don’t want a weak boss. Just a proper one.

What do you guys think? Even IF you could kill him yourself, it would take horrendously long for most people I think. Add to that the prospect of getting lackluster rewards and you tend to create deadzones, wherever champions are found.

TL;DR The “contested” system & champion bosses need to be looked at.
