D/P is already struggling in the meta so I’m really quite surprised to see this nerf. Who thinks they even considered how this will stop offhand pistol from securing a stomp since the downed player can time an auto attack and their downed skill between blind pulses?
I don’t like the s/d changes either. I was really hoping they’d go back on their dual air/fire sigil nonsense from last patch but anet seems to rarely reverse bad decisions. Nerfing 2/0/0/6/6’s damage and the damage of other overly tanky builds using air/fire was the right way to fix things. This s/d change reduces damage but leaves other profession’s builds at full strength… not balanced at all.
As mentioned before…..anet have no clue how to balance what they created.
Welp….since this balance patch will not change the meta at all for the better and since the pve content and pvp content won’t keep many of the current players from leaving gw2. I guess gg to gw2 or better yet…..to anet?
We shall see……
+1 for necromancer lifeforce decaying out of combat
Do you even have a necro?
Pros: Free condition clears /w cleansing ire with any weapon now, not just log bows.
edit I have been told the above is not true. So there is no saving grace in this change.
Cons:A. Burst skill balancing so far has revolved around making them highly telegraphable. I am not saying this should change I am saying this combined with the proposed changes create a stiff penalty and will make using a burst skills more unforgiving than anything else I know of in the game. Perhaps this is the intention but good intentions are not always good.
B. Some skills like eviscerate for example work like rush, any movement impairing conditions effect this skills ability to land. Hammer stun is very buggy and fails to work where the terrain is not flat. Point being there are many issues with burst skill mechanics adding this change will make them totally unwieldy.
C. Kill shot is a good example of a highly telegraphed burst skill. Not only is the wind up long with an obvious tell but now you are telling me not only will we give other players every opportunity to dodge or kite your burst skill but we will also severely penalize you for trying to use one that anyone with a bare minimum of practice can avoid.
D. Burst skill nerfs we have also seen several burst skill nerfs that were totally unnecessary and everyone knows this, Hammer and longbow to name two but there are others. So you are telling me new warrior balancing.
E. Low damage burst skills, that are highly telegraphable with obvious tells that severely penalize and punish the player attempting to use them GG ANET Rekt…
TY for reading ANET. I liked most of the other changes and didn’t mind some of the other adrenaline rework however this one is too much and has too many issues.
Edit: F skills like blind will totally punish warriors worst than any other profession it will be over the top.
Reckon gw2 wars should keep the “out of combat” adrenaline mainly because wars in gw1 kept adrenaline for awhile outside of combat. With the “out of combat decay” nerf plus the “even if you miss consume adren” nerf, it will just be awkward and take too much away from the class.
E.g. war vs evade thief, what you think will happen….
(edited by The Primary.6371)
Necromancer’s Life Force, first of, should be more dynamic and act more like a Resource than second life bar. I’d say, reduce it by 30-40% but increase overall LF generation by 60-75% and make 6-10 abilities cost Life Force to use, with maybe some costs to buff 1-5 skills too. Then we can make a engaging gameplay.
The total hp is already too low, bugged since the last patch that addressed necro DS. Your idea combined with tarcis silly idea would kill the necro for any type of game play.
If anything though, your side idea to increase life force generation is a good one. A better idea would be to apply life force generation for each weapon sets skills (not just one/two or just the auto).

just so people are aware.
Poor thieves they didn’t deserve this kinda of nerf bat. Some nerfs were needed but that much? Ouch.
———————————————————————————————-
Thief
s/d counter play= dodge/blind/block the blatantly obvious flanking strike and the initiative cost will add up. They will do less damage, due to no larcenous strike. This doesn’t help rangers, mesmers though due to clone/pet bait. Lol wrong way to nerf s/d.d/p= black powder big nerf. half the pulse blind. Less duration 2. Ouch.
———————————————————————————————-
Warriors: Love the adrenaline changes. Benefits my teams bunker warrior more than other warrior builds.Basically warriors will have to stay in combat as much as possible to keep adrenaline.
Next zerker stance gives less adrenaline, AND if they miss their f1 they lose all adrenaline.
The last part means 2 things: Longbow f1 fields will suffer slightly, before if they missed f1 then they could immediately full longbow field. Now they won’t get that opportunity.Awaiting clarification (screenshot anyone?) if missing f1 will proc cleasing ire or not
———————————————————————————————————————-Glad they nerfed warrior, thief but some were the wrong way to do it.
Just stick to longbow and your good.
Nope, not on autopilot. Nope, not designed by one designer. I Promise features are coming eventually. I want them finished and as badly as you do!
Seems to take just as long or even longer than the balance patches. Wonder if the end product will also be half completed just like the game (if you can type that it’s half finished off).
You guys know how we do it!
“When it’s ready”, indeed.
@ balance and splitting skills: Splitting the entire game into 2 (or 3, if you want to be technical: PvE, WvW, PvP) sets of #‘s creates a LOT of overhead in maintaining 3 sets of numbers. As most skills are fine across game types, it’s more efficient to split off problem skills and leave the majority of skills consistent across game types. It also means that people have a general sense of relative balance across all game types, and don’t have 2-3 sets of numbers to learn.
So basically what you did in Gw1. Very good. Just do what you learned from that game an it’ll be good.
They choose not to learn from their previous developers/ management for some reason.
Rotations are imho not the most important part in sPvP because of the vast diversity of builds which can break up the “math”. A quick example – bunker builds. Yesterday I had a situation where three of us were trying to decap “far” with a guardian sitting on it (“mid” was contested, “home” was safe). All three of us were pretty high on DPS/condi/burst yet the guardian managed to stay alive no matter what we did. I have never seen someone being capable of absorbing / blocking so much damage. Obvious tankiness and high experience of the enemy player at it’s best!
The most important thing imho is for players to actually know how to properly play their profession. Rotations don’t mean anything if you are a high DPS player yet you don’t get to chance to unleash all that damage.
Thank you (15 character w/e)
Dear Thieves,
I came here to say that your tears dropping into my beer make it more cold and delicious than any ice.
If you struggle because you can be actually hit outside of Blind/Evade/Stealth spam, maybe that’s the time to become a man, switch something instead going full zerk/full burst damage, take some hits and make our game more healthy and diverse.
With love,
RymDear Deluded Person,
I came here to say that your premature gloating is highly unfounded, in fact, I cheerfully laugh off your Sic Em and your buffs and am certain we will continue to enthusiastically and systematically break you down into nothing but more tears and confusion as to why your buffs didn’t save you.
With love,
S/D thieves
You will also continue to be bored out of your skull too….so……meh either way.
Brutish thugs will be brutish…..but will always remain thugs that try to punk.
Im tired of Pvp players thinking that they lost b.c “Oh they had 2 warriors and we didnt” or “Oh they have a decap engi with a ele tag team at home” or “they must be on TS and we arnt”
NO, No and again NOOOOO, its b.c you run solo to outman fights, fight you cant handle, or your fighting off point CHASING a class faster than you… “see this way to much” simply you dont rotate.
Not saying everyone doesnt, and Honestly the sad truth, most on the forums know this and its the players that “dont” go out of there way to read an dlearn more about the game (Talking about those that dont go to the forums, reddit, guild wars guru/wiki etc.. to try and better understand).
The Picture below is an example
Was just playing a game, and this player (will not be named) say “they have better team comp” when they didnt, we did actually.
- I was at home, I call out “3 home, home lost”
- 1 player comes, and died,
- 2nd player comes again.. solo.. and died
- 2 on mid with no enemies whole time
- I start to go far, I see Inc home, I call out “Inc home, 4 home”
- the 2 dead respawn and go home… they died
- I tell Mid ppl watch out inc mid and I got the Cap far
- I ask for help at far (sense a mesmer was bouncing between mid and Home didnt want a portal on me) and to look out for inc to mid
- The 2 dead ones…. run back home an died.
Please learn to rotate, here are some tips
- If your Out manned and/or you know you cant win the fight, Dont try it
- If you can tell (mini map) where all 5 are and CLEARLY your out manned on a point, holding 1 strong and 0 on another, go take it.
- If you have 1 point, 1 is contested and they have 1, there is a 2v2, a 2v2 and 1 enemy holding there point (not helping either fight) go support your team mates, make it a 3v2 spike them down fast then that 1 goes helps the other (IF they are still alive and you can help them win) Dont run off to the other and make it a 1v1. What will happen is you might lose a 2v2 and now your 2 man down and they are 2 men up over you.
Disclaimer Im not an amazing Pvp’er, but I would say Im above average, I may not knowall the tricks, and some of the info I do know may have a better way, so please dont tell me Im a stupid player and just give better advise, PS. Im terrible at english.
It’s pretty funny how the majority of you people are trying to disguise a “noob rage thread” by making it look like a teaching attempt.
What is with this rotate crap anyways, do you want noobs to constantly turn around or as you would type it (rotate) in a clockwise or anticlockwise fashion?
Can’t you spell it out as it is from the beginning with these points:
- Communication
- Experience (that’s very lol for needing experience to control giant circles)
- Player killing knowledge
- Survivability understanding.
- Spec synergy
(edited by The Primary.6371)
pathetic…
ppl asking for middles nerfs without thinking how it will affect the profession. YOU are only piking up stuff about thieves that you personally dont like and instead of learning to counter them you whine to anet asking for nerfs cuz it’s alot easier to beat on a afk dude then to L2P.
/facepalm
If only that was the case with s/d SoH evade, but it’s not a “L2p” issue at all in the end.
That’s a good point actually. Worth some discussion. One big reason that comes to mind would be too many particle effects in GW2, which GW1 didn’t have…
Sure, the particles/effects bordering trigger-happy epilepsy are a downside.
But as a former avid GW1 GvG player (who, btw, can’t stand at all how players in GW2 can call a minizerg TDM 20vs20 “GvG”…), I can pinpoint some other serious issues regarding observer mode and the huge difference in it between GW1 and GW2.
First, and most important, reason: the pace of the game. GW1 was a lot slower than GW2 overall, and for that exact reason required a higher skill cap to play well as a team (i.e.: just remember what teams like War Machine/Last Pride could and were able to do, regardless of build). But, as an observer, you could follow, due to that slower pace, the match in a meaningful way, understanding positioning, skill usage and even team play.
Second, skills/game mechanics/tooltips were crystalline clear. No hidden mechanics, no useless wow-esque high numbers, skill descriptions were clear and straightforward, no random skill/traits effects. This helped a lot in both playing and watching a match and almost fully understand it: “that player is now using skill X, which does Y, in the Y moment, I get why he/she did that”.
Both previous reasons lead to a greater understanding of how team builds worked: balanced, spike, condispam, hexspam, split teams.
Oh, and let’s not forget the skill casting bar – it helped too in observer mode, even though it was (clearly) a lot more useful while playing the game.
And, as a final added bonus, you could even watch your OWN games, just to try to find what went incredibily wrong in the last match. Some people used it to grieve and for name-calling to their own team mates, but good players used it in a much more meaningful and useful way: to learn from each player mistakes and to learn how to be better as a team (for example, if the mistake lied in a bad decision by the team leader or by poor execution of a good decision, etc.).
I miss gw1 gvg and observation mode too, which makes you wonder when this generation of anet devs and management will wake up and smell the flowers.
Or will they just be the dog on the ncsoft lease until the game finally dies. Another scenario has majority of the population fleeting to the newly developed MMOs.

Funny how this will only apply to the evade spammers when the patch hits. Unless anet is planning on heavily nerfing the s/d SoH evade builds.
Its the same way u counter someone in smash bros spamming the dodge button ! ! ??
Better timings, positionings and most importantly work on your mind game capabaility.
The mind game ability goes in the same catagory as trying to hit an interupt on someone fakecasting alot
u cannot turn off your brains and go auto pilot and spam keys vs thieves
Perfect example of denial….considering how he apparently made the s/d evade (lack of any skill) spec famous again.
I can 1v1 pretty much anyone in pvp on my necro, except for mesmers. It seems like there unkillable to me. Even 2v1 with a guardian with me we we’re unable to kill one it was pretty much a stalemate where he could either heal or run away. Are there classes that are better suited at handling mesmers or are they just generally OP in pvp compared with other classes?
I have seen this paragraph before…is this another pathetic troll attempt….me thinks yes.
10k Base hp is just a no go for Guardians, it makes the paladin GW equivalent just as squishy as thief and Eles.
The fact that you put a trait that gives you 300 vit, should be telling how bad the class needs the HP.
It is simply too stats restrictive.
Does not need be 18k like the warrior, but it should at the very least be 15k. As it stands every class in the game is tougher than a Guardian, save Eles and Thiefs.
Then by your logic, elementalists should also get a major heath point boost too. Actually why stop there…..why not buff thieves hp aswell.
Laugh out loud at 72%(no, remove it) vs 28%(yes, leave it)…you can clearly see that the 28% are mostly high end pvp trolls.
Ummmmm…….no.
Never has there been a bigger indication that the competitive community is dead. These matches are like watching hotjoins.
What’s sad is the shoutcasting is good for once. But it’s so wasted.
Exactly…you know what is more lol….some poor soul tried to defend this stupidity in a thread called “Dodgeball-Style All Star Match (NA)”.
He stated you could learn from these people and better yourself at conquest pvp within these major tourneys. Here is some random quote he typed “You watch when they rotate and ask yourself why.”.
What do you guys think about this anniversary?
For those who don’t know, the immobilize bug is when your character is permanently immobilized after an instant stun break or condition cleanse. The only way to break out of the immobilize is to use an emote, like dance, which is obviously detrimental in the middle of a PvP fight.
I know Blizzard or Riot would have fixed it within a couple hours or days. ArenaNet is about to hit the two-year mark.
Use da /dance……get the blood running through your data based feet.
;P
don’t worry, if they make it 50% “next balance patch” then we’ll all be long dead anyway, our distant descendants will have to make the melee rangers for us!
on a more serious note, how about this for strider’s defense
*Strider’s Defence"
“passive: You reflect Projectiles while evading and gain 2 seconds of retaliation for each attack evaded.”so whenever you use auto 3 if someone shoots you with ranged weps you will reflect it, if someone hits you in melee or ground targeting you gain retaliation.
No by that time…most of us will be ummm…doing some weird futuristic type thing with some weird kitten futuristic MMO something.
o.O

Great….now I feel really old…..

I, for one, welcome our new overlord, Eurantien
For being the first to rightfully recognize my divine rule. I bestow upon thee one free pass. I will not kill you, unless you’re alone, for one full match, free of charge. You are ticket number: 01. Redeemable when update happens.
Pfff….I never needed this patch in order to continue to kill people constantly, painfully……..or ummm……….mercilessly.
“I Will Avenge You!”
Gain Might, Fury and Quickness for a short time, duration increased for each nearby defeated ally.
Shout
Radius: 900
Duration: 5 seconds, + 3 seconds for each dead ally
Might Stacks: 6
Cooldown: 60 Seconds
Max Targets: 5its a classic for anyone who played the original GW, this version is more zerker and less defensive, Might fury and quickness are a lethal combo, hence the short duration :-3
This was added to gw2 then removed if memory servers. Don’t remember it’s original function in gw2 but I’m sure you can find it in wiki.
S/D thieves aren’t OP. In teamfights they dont have that much sustain, they only have 3 evades every 5 seconds unless they use Signet, and once focused they die really fast. They cant 1v1 engis, hambows, eles, or Necros ON POINT which is the only place where 1v1s matter. They’re only slightly more mobile than D/P thieves in terms of landspeed. Speaking of D/P thieves they HARDCOUNTER S/D thieves. Black Powder destroyed any X/D thief.
That’s a funny thing to say considering our thief who runs s/d never loses to caed
Thats because that thief is outplaying caed , d/p counters most thief sets aside from P/D because the latter doesn’t require you to go in melee range thus negating the blind spam.
caed is probably the best d/p thief mechanically so i think youre pretty stupid saying how it counters s/d then because no one should be able to beat him on s/d
This guy seems to have a real hardcore man crush. With that typed, would have to agree with “TheThief” dude.
some wishes i have for a future PvP patch:
removal of skyhammer and spirit watch from soloQ
Balancing:
- s/d thief (2 0 0 6 6): toning down either damage or survivability
- warrior: either toning down damage with tank amulets or survivability
- if necessary lower the might stacks cap in PvP to 15
- air/fire sigils: set amount of damage, no scaling with might/power
- remove/change passive damage procs (IP)
- nerf AI damage. AI should be about support not damage. (MM, Turrets)
- buffs to useless traits/skillsNew Game Modes:
- 2v2 arenas + teamQ. another map, more simple than courtyard(too much stuff on it).
- capture the flag: new map with 2 base, middle flag spawn. flag carrier gets own set of skills. make block pickup impossible, guardian focus. 5vs5. allow flag steal from enemy base.
New Weapon/Utility Skills:
give us new weapon or utility skills. support skills for some classes would be nice. especially for arenas/cptf.
New Reward Tracks with unique PvP rewards:
new tracks for pre wardrobe pvp-only available gears
new tracks with new pvp-only available gearsNPCs:
A bank NPC
A TP NPCfeel free to post what your wishes are for a future PvP patch!
Majority of useless traits/ skills are with classes such as the mesmer, necro, ranger and thief. Yes the thief is in a better spot (maybe) than the other three classes, but that only rings true until they decided to nerf the s/d SoH evade and d/p or s/d SoH dps specs.
Matches have exciting endings when the teams are evenly matched, not because of a dps race on an NPC. On the Foefire map, the Guild Lord makes it seem like it’s a closer match because of the potential to narrow the point differential by 150 points. So, for example, even though the teams might be 200 points apart in score there’s potentially only a 50 point differential so long as the Lord remains in play.
If you want more exciting climaxes/finishes to the matches you need more competitive play out of players/teams, and the only way you get that is for ANet to actually incentivize skillful play and improving one’s game – something that currently doesn’t exist in the game. Until they do, you’re going to continue to see a mismatches and a handful of teams/players outright dominate the competition and leave you with boring matches to watch/play where you just “watch the points tick down”.
So what you really ought to be asking for is incentives and tools for players to learn and improve
Ironic considering how the guild lord feature within foe fire is from gw1 gvg. If only this dev team and management would finally understand the value of the past gw1 pvp modes such as gvg or even HA.
They need to simply have a self-interrupt button that can be bound to something of your choosing, so you don’t need to use Escape for in-combat purposes. Although yes they could do a work around, its silly that they don’t just give us an interrupt button when we’re already doing it ourselves.
They did have this in gw1….so yet another feature from gw1 not implemented within gw2.
You seem to be defensive for some reason by your attempt to deflect away from the subject. As stated with my previous reply “This then can be viewed by anyone streaming a fair fight”.
Referring to your assumption a little directly:
- I simply stated the truth where gw2 conquest is a dumbed down version of alliance battles.
- You did see a lot more action within guild vs guild as apposed to alliance battles.
- At least gw1 alliance battles was way more comprehensive, larger in scale and fixed many of the issues that are currently present in gw2s pvp.
But….I won’t go into too much detail about the pvx mode, since it should be clear if you did play gw1 at all.
(edited by The Primary.6371)
Rotation…..is not the correct wording for what you just elaborated on. By your explanation, these so called high end pvpers with their small fan base operate in the same format as a generic conquest tpvp match.
This then can be viewed by anyone streaming a fair fight, plus it’s based off a dumbed down pvx mode from gw1 called “Alliance Battles”. In other words, you saw way more action in a standard gvg match than alliance battles. Considering how gvg did not force the players to operate inside a point based system and promoted drastic tactically changes for each team.
So far, I am not seeing any real reason for gw2 pvp to be defined as"esport" at all. To define gw2 pvp as a “sport” is unwise at this point until a pvp mode worthy of that title is implemented.
The viable path would be to mix it with another useless trait or useful trait that has synergy with death shroud. Thus opening the door to another new trait to be implemented.
Ironic how 81 stops the said player from receiving anymore boxes.
@The Primary Some people find watching streams entertaining, especially the top players. You can learn from it, and it can be fun, just like watching any sport.
@XacTactX Unfortunately the vote ends tonight, so we can’t reschedule this PARTICULAR event, but maybe we’ll do something similar in the future.
Example of what I might possibly learn?
It’s also interesting how you use the word “some”.
The rewards
Currently the rewards are worth nothing.. it’s some RNG thingy which most SPvP players don’t need and PvE players are not interested in. This way PvE players will never come to SPvP. Only the baltazhar backpack was interesting for everyone because it was a new skin for PvP only. At that point I thought ArenaNet finally got the hang of it and would make more of those… wrong… There should be more rewards like that. Or even maybe tracks that can give way better rewards with way more tiers. Like precursors maybe? with like 40 tiers instead of 8? We don’t need dungeon tracks that give items most of us already have for over a year and a half.Statistics
Almost EVERY game that has PvP shows which player made how many kills, assists, dmg, healing, deaths and so on. Why doesn’t have guildwars this? Without these statistics how can new players see if they are doing it good or bad or what they need to change in their gameplay? Or how is it even possible to get E-sports without these?
Asura’s
These little things are just not made correctly… Their advantage is way to big
http://s7.postimg.org/nqfjptk9z/gw181.jpg
http://s7.postimg.org/4zi7tef3b/gw182.jpg
The animation of the asura (second picture comes halfway and still hits…. that’s just stupid)Transforms
simply why doesn’t a transform has the same timer indication as a boon?
http://postimg.org/image/ahlc19xe9/
As you can see here. Stability is halfway and good to see but the transform(plague in this case) is also halfway but there is no way to see it unless u hover your mouse on the icon. Like you have time for that during a battle. Also some people say you can see the timer by your stability. But what if someone else gives you more time of stability or removes the boon…Necro second HP bar
There is currently no way to see if a necro is in deathshroud or not. this is very hard for his own team and the enemy team.
http://postimg.org/image/fz6dtar2j/
Simple fix for targeted bar. Do something like that in the party UI as well. (yes I know I’m like the worst person with paint and I’m proud of it
Numbers in HP bar
Why should I have to guess how much HP someone has? If you play a lot you can guess it by their build/class but that’s just stupid and very hard for new people that just started playing SPvP.Leaderboards
This just works completely stupid. Lots of people (including myself) which are high rated in the leaderboards only play 1 or 2 games each couple of days. Why? simply because it’s not worth it. If we win we hardly go up. If we lose we lose a lot. Combined with it taking about ~10min each queue when you’re not in primetime makes it really lame. Also dropping out of leaderboards for not playing is kinda lame. I drop from #5 soloQ to #100 within 1 week. And when I play 1 game I’m around #5 again… That’s just a lame way. As last for leaderboards: It shouldn’t be possible to get an account with like 11 wins into top 10 right away…It should take way longer to reach the top and not just 11 games.Leaderboards character bound instead of account
I’m into SoloQ top 25 with necromancer. There is no way for me to learn other classes or builds now, unless I want to waste my rating or get a second account… This is just stupid.Matchmaking
Because PvP is not that interesting anymore and more stuff(like the above) makes it that matchmaking takes forever and somehow top 100 players end up with people not even in top 1000 or even players that are new PvP…. This only makes frustration from both sides… Top 100 playes rage because they play with “noobs”. And the new players or the less good can’t have a normal casual game without being yelled at.Skyhammer
said enuffNew PvP modes
Yes we finally got a deathmatch map…. but its hotjoin only… no wait not even hotjoin its custom arena only… So you have to pay big money to play deathmatch… wait what? and it’s not even in ranked matches….4v5 matches
A match shouldn’t be able to start 4v5…. Lots of ways to fix this like accepting the match start and more stuff like that.Well that’s all for now. Let’s hope ArenaNet does something about it. But they seem not to care that much about SPvP….
And don’t tell me I’m wrong about that because we have seen this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH6pVBl7zUs !!!!!!!!7 MONTHS !!!!!!! ago and skyhammer is still here and we don’t have any kinds of new modes.Thank you for reading and have a nice day
Funny how all transformations have wonderfully long kitten cool downs when they can be so easily countered (apart from moa, needs to be deleted or over hauled).
First and most important change that necro requires is deleting signet of spite from game, then we can talk about other changes.
Only you would be wrecked by “signet of spite”……/facepalm.
His name popped up in the waiting loadout.. Could it be really him..? in NA? … I just got wrecked by Sizer.. he’s in NA stomping us now.. :’(
You seem to have an incredible man crush there….dude.
You must be in either self denial or just ignorant to think everything is simply perfect in gw2.
I don’t think ArenaNet understand how important the problem is. It screws up the matchmaking so much.
Still rings true…anet don’t understand what they created or how to even balance gw2’s various facets. They don’t even understand the value of monthly/ weekly content/balance patches.
dd ele stronker
If only, but even this gets screwed over by say a SoH d/p dps thief or s/d SoH evade thief.
Thanks for removing more builds from the meta like ranger and staff ele. For staff ele it was the only way to apply counterpressure and survive, the bird could survive due to ele heal and protection and hit the target when i cc people. If you think chubz ele build without vigor/evasive arcana procs works you just go the na noob syndrom, sry.
You seem to have no clue about meta builds. Most team q builds work around might stacking/air fire procs, why don´t you start nerfing this first or atleast wait until after the next big tournament so we don´t have to learn a whole new class and adjust the lineup and strategy?
Pirate was the only way for less op builds to get near to those classes who can stack might / proc air sigil.
Ranger also relied on parrot to proc burn from spirit, this build is dead now too, thank you.
Even if AI is not what people want to see it keeps things balanced. Yet the main goal should be to allow viable builds that don´t rely on runes/sigils whihch needs major nerf to all sigils.
Why stop there, why not nerf a zerker sceptre / focus eles ability to dish out instant bursts while having super strong defensive capabilities.
Hey all,
I’ve seen some concerns in this thread regarding allocating developer resources for tournaments and events, and I just wanted to let you know there’s no reason to be alarmed! While I’m sure our programmers and designers would make for awesome Event Managers, they’ve got a game to work on! Projects like Tournament of Legends, our tournament at gamescom, and anything similar that we do in the future is largely owned by myself and our community/marketing teams.
I had a lot of fun working on the community team earlier this year as the PvP Community Coordinator, and I’m really excited to be back on the team in this new role (Events Manager). For anyone who has been around since the start, you know I’m very passionate about the competitive side of Guild Wars 2. I didn’t want to jump in and ring a bunch of bells announcing my new role when I moved into the position – I’d rather just make things happen.
Hope that all makes sense.

Copy / paste so works every time…anyways with that non event. Everyone should just continue as to why now or why even bother watching them at all?
Do we get free stuff for watching it?
Otherwise, why should anyone outside of the (official esports community) bother with it?

Just needed to be carried half the way by anet…that’s all. Oh wait what am I typing…I’m sure he would have been able to grind to it in say…another year if anet never bothered to boost every r60 to r80. That is if he never lost interest with gw2 or suddenly the game never went under for known reasons.
Why bother…it only affects 4 skills and even if it does get implemented. How large enough of an impact would it be? (Rhetorical question btw)
i recalled someone posting in the forum that, the new skills should be elite skills, so here i am contributing a new elite shout skill for the warrior profession!
based on the old guild wars 1 elite shout skill:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/%22Victory_Is_Mine!%22
“Elite Shout. You gain 10…56…68 Health and 3…6…7 Energy for each condition on target foe. "activation time: instant (shouts are instant activation)
recharge time: 15 secondsit was drastically nerfed though, it used to be “for each condition on each foe within earshot.” but due to monks (secondary profession warrior) abusing it, this skill is rendered quite useless.
since vigorous shouts offers healing and there is no energy in guild wars 2, perhaps we can have something else. i propose the following:
proposal template:
“Victory is Mine!” | 0 s Activation | 25 s Recharge | Slot Elite | Type Shout
“Gain _______ for each condition on each nearby foe.”
Number of Targets: 5
Radius: 600proposal 1, keep it simple, gain might.
“Victory is Mine!” | 0 s Activation | 25 s Recharge | Slot Elite | Type Shout
“Gain might for each condition on each nearby foe.”
Might: 5 s
Number of Targets: 5
Radius: 600however, 25 might, even at 5 × 1.3 = 6.5 s every 12 s seems too powerful and hard hitting.
proposal 2, keep it even more simple, gain adrenaline!
“Victory is Mine!” | 0 s Activation | 25 s Recharge | Slot Elite | Type Shout
“Gain adrenaline for each condition on each nearby foe.”
Adrenaline: 1
Number of Targets: 5
Radius: 600this can generate very little adrenaline in a condition light 1 vs 1 fight or simply fill up the adrenaline bar immediately in conditional messy team fights.
addition:
proposal 3 by Equivocat, i renamed it though.“Victory is Ours!” | 0 s Activation | 60 s Recharge | Slot Elite | Type Shout
“Regain all endurance. Grant vigor to yourself and allies for each condition on target foe.”
Endurance: 100
Vigor: 1 s
Number of Targets: 5
Radius: 600
/laugh…..the elite shout from gw1 called “Your All Alone!!!” is way better and some how applies to the situation.
one word (eviscerate ) ^
One word “dodge”.
he said one shouldnt be able to kill someone w 1 skil
well i said warrior has veiscerate wich is beeing used frequently, and even if it misses , adrenaline should be spent but it is not, then there still are killshots, 100 b, and few other stuff.
edit : and no i am not a thief player, i mainly play a glassy s/d ele and a shatter mes, but in all situations, if the thief fails i win, if i fail thief wins, pretty simple. thiefs r as glassy as a zerker ele.
GG landing it on a s/d evade thief….just keep it up like a good little boy. You maybe….hopefully….in the end….ok even if you don’t or never get to land it, at least you tried. That is all that matters….right?
