And to most of the above, the OP was trying to make the point that the feature should have allowed multiple colors from the start. The point of the tag was to allow people to organize, not act as who has the most coin.

For 300 gold you should unlock all colors, that or they should allow people to turn in other game currency (examples badges, karma, dungeon tokens…) to unlock colors after the gold sink.

Side answer, SoR has been rather light last couple of weeks, we have a lot of PvE people which also means a lot are drawn out of WvW. That’s on top of an already light WvW population in general. Does mean the rest of us have plenty of targets to aim for though. See you out there, good hunting.
So, SoR will only come out when facing semi-dead servers. But when things get rough they will run away under the excuse of PvE?
I can tell you what people in WvW were doing, but I can’t see what people are doing that aren’t there. Personally I like outnumbered buff, it’s like playing red in EoTM, lots of targets.

How would you handle when two different commanders are there? Could also see people quickly tagging up and down to get siege, hence it would be easy to abuse. Not to mention it would be easy to disrupt an enemy attack by running 2 accounts and stopping the ram from swinging. Current system seems to work pretty well, if you deploy and build you can manage it. If you paid for the siege and deployed it, you should be able to use it.

Couple of different posts on sentries out there. That said, would love if they could be upgraded just like objectives. Example, first upgrade doubles the numbers, second upgrades adds some range to the sentry post. Third upgrade adds a Cabalist, 4th upgrade makes the sentry post act like a sentry turent in EoTM and shows enemy dots in area of effect. Likewise an option to add a patrol to area.

You are always welcome to SoR. We are rebuilding currently and there are a large number of various size guilds running around, many are recruiting. And since we are varied sizes you will find a lot mixed groups of various guilds so you can find a variety of types of combat, aka there will be times to solo, havoc, warband and zerg.

I admit I really like that there are items in this game that are rare enough to warrant such a price, which is why I appreciate this item rarely getting put into the mix. I don’t even want the item itself, just appreciate the concept of its rarity.

25 is the normal price for the 2000 gem cards. As stated above a lot of the big box retailers have these on their shelves as well, have made good gifts for fellow gamers.

Lots of one’s I like in here. Agree would love to see more upgrades in WvW that players can create. Sentries in particular should be upgrade-able, that way you can also blockade a camp even if for some reason you can’t take it. Additional guards and roaming patrols would add a lot to those areas of interest. Could go on the others as well but will save it.
Would also love to see some upgrades that use harvestable mats to complete. Example take your barricade idea, cost ‘x’ coin to build, or 50% of the price if you provide ‘x’ amount of units of lumber or 25% of the price in coin if you supply lumber and ore.
Anyway, general +1 until we can talk more in depth in a CDI. Good hunting!

So crafting things in mass takes time. I am not sure anyone has ever exclaimed in joy that they need to convert 1200 units of a raw material into a refined mat. That said, sentry duty in keeps can also be the same, check walls, refresh siege, build new ones, stare at a wall. Why not allow us to kill 2 birds with one stone. Tie into one of the personnel upgrades the ability to deploy crafting stations on the outer walls. There is plenty of room along the outer walls to deploy stations, even smaller foot print stations like the airship. Gives invaders something else to have fun and kill, allows sentries to do two things at once, might encourage people to take a turn at sentry duty, gives a more lively feel to the keeps and adds more value to upgraded keeps and some upgrades people only do if everything else is done.

Some players use /dance or /sit or swap weapons, and that seems to work…as another workaround.
Nope this issue isn’t cleared by this, tried it. Hadn’t tried the log out and back in, will have to give it a shot though. It’s only a few silver but considering drop rates that’s an extra zing on top of the bug.

The Drooburt bit was awesome sauce. Nicely done and a lot of fun. The interview with Peter Fries was even more icing on the cake. +1 here for a bit well done. What makes Easter Eggs fun is finding them, Drooburt collecting money would have been to obvious, when in fact his death was the Easter Egg in of itself. Good hunting!

Log in, figure out which toon to start with.
Craft some WvW supplies/siege, craft for others
Go harvest some mats (WvW/EoTM), get kills while harvesting
Light TP trading
Re-decide on toons
If solo, go hunting in WvW/EoTM, people/PPT
If not solo create havoc group, go WvW, or if they want to level new toons WvW or EoTM, PPT/people hunting
2-6 hours later with hunting/bantering
Start winding down, harvest more mats
World roaming/exploring
Log off

Personally I have found that gear combinations that I ran in PvP were typically in the ballpark for a good WvW build. Finding matches where the other side was sticking together and try it out against multiple targets. The biggest advantage of using PvP is saving all the coin that buying the sets in WvW would run you just to try something and find out you don’t like it.
The various build calculators can be used in conjunction with this once you get a feel for how your gear holds you up.

This has been brought up a number of times, but it is still an issue. There are various changes that could be tried. Allow only a 1 to 1 rally, remove rally but allow rez by friendlies, remove rez of full dead, remove rally from wildlife. The stomps are fun and it adds an extra bit of strategy to the combat that justifies it staying, but the current setup does just favor the side with the larger force.

Remove waypoints…try running from Dry Top all the way to Orr then back to Frostforge. Even with 33% boost that would take forever. There have been MMOs that didn’t allow fast travel points. It was interesting but really annoying when it would take you 2-4 hours in game to get to your next destination. That’s an extreme timesink we don’t need. GW’s waypoint options are quick efficient and allow you to spend your game time gaming. So big NO here. Good hunting.

As stated above they are working on that, but as far as reducing the achievable goals, I like them. If they are to change them there still should be some extremely hard to reach goals out there, else they become meaningless. I think having sub-levels of those goals is a better solution. Go ahead and pass a title out for 100/1000/10000/100000/250000/500000/750000/1000000 levels versus bringing the levels down just so people can claim them for easier rewards. And I do understand, only 998109 more yaks to go.

Interesting idea, I assume you are talking about a copy of the PvE maps versus mixing this into PvE. Biggest issue here is size. Even for the T1 servers I could see an issue spreading people all out if it was all the maps at the same time. But maybe if you added this as an additional map and had that additional map rotate in and out daily. Example today is a copy of Black Citadel, tomorrow is a copy of Plains of Ashford, day after Frostforge. You could just add in teh objectives and leave the normal npcs that are there. Would be interesting. Good hunting!

+1, love food crafting but it is easy to use a vast amount of storage space for this profession. Agree, if are just using the discovery window to try and create new recipes it makes it a lot harder unless you have those sub components assembled.

Charr engineer and hidden pistol. The hidden pistol tool belt ability is deceptive if you just go by the description. Its a great way to drop an enemy real fast in surprise.

Anyone else running into a lot of drops from EoTM and WvW? Various people on teamspeak running into lots of DCs right now. 11:15 PM EST Started in last 10-15 mins.

Still believe that EoTM should be brought into the scoring rotation for regular WvW. Points should be award from the mists if the sides are of equivalent sizes, we would need some system that if the instance is one sided they can not just win via numbers. The WvW points should be adjusted based on the number of queues during that 4 hour block, but its value should be of a reduced amount compared to control of the regular borderlands. If there are 5 overflows, the total points for each match would be 20% of the total allotment of the assigned value of EoTM in that 4 hour block. This ties it into regular WvW, allows people to fight in different maps, creates a region for those that want a RvBvG rotation, and adds a level of strategy since you may need to peel some people off to attack/defend a new area. I hear you that some servers may not have the pop to do that in their tier but the odds are those servers in your tier are in the same boat so it is balanced in a given tier. Just some thoughts.

Careful, that’s what happened to SoR. People were worn out in T1 with the same matches each week. People tried to let PPT slide which created friction and lead to people switching servers which lead to more WvW pop leech which lead to further decline. But at least now we have somewhere to build back up from which will be fun. It was also fun to see all the different servers during the decline though and will be interesting if we are able to move back up over time. Good hunting to you!

Arrow carts are providing the role they were meant for, anti-zerg weaponry. Beside that they are easy to defeat, don’t stack a zerg in one spot. EoTM is WvW, from the beginning they stated that it is a WvW overflow.

I don’t mind people wanting to take objectives, game was meant for that, but if people want to play the game as it was designed to be played, aka attacking and defending, it’s valid for them to do so as well. The risk/reward factor is that in the Edge you can go for easy loot, but something might be stalking you as well.
To your last question, spend a couple of hours daily in the borderlands, but popping out to the Edge can mix things up as well and can find some rather fun fights since the environment plays a larger factor in some fights. Would love to see some of the aspects carried over to the regular borderlands as well. People organizing to avoid fights though, that turns my stomach. Go to some PvE zone if you are completely unwilling to fight.

Wow, I just read the Reddit post linked above. Someone actually admits to violating the ToS by using match manipulation? Mass reporting a defender is also against the ToS. Defending is not a reportable offense. My jaw is still in my lap.
Have encountered them as well. A couple of us decided to defend after they announced in map chat that they were controlling 2 of the three sides and were planning on avoiding fights. They became rather agitated after 2 of us wiped their other guild mates zerg a couple of times while holding our keep. After coming over to rage at us they informed us that they just coordinated with the other guildy to avoid the keep we were defending. Which worked since we were looking to win the match to provide more supply for our home borderland. Of course now we know what to watch for now. It’s kind of up to the players to not support this kind of game play, you see it happening, then stop and fight or defend as needed. That or eliminate cross server guilds, they are already a conflict of interest since the only thing that now defines community is WvW. Good hunting!

Since the “outnumbered” buff is absolutely useless, and you cannot do anything versus an enemy thats 2-10times larger, balancing numbers is the only way forward.
During season 2 my server ended up last each week. So that was 9 weeks of red on top of other weeks of red. The outnumbered buff in EoTM was awesome during those 9 weeks. Picking off pieces of the zerg and everytime the zerg died to defenders holding something paid even better than open world hunting. Love the outnumbered buff. Does it make you stronger, no and it shouldn’t. But it does encourage people to fight versus Pvdoor. Good hunting.

Imagine trying to organise three large guilds to compete at the same time. You’d be lucky to get one match a week.
Ok, Let me explain:
No more WxWxW. We use only the maps to preserve PvE as it is.
There are several guilds and a lot of “foreveralones”.
It´s only and classic “open PvP” among guilds, parties or factions from any server (megaserver), not among servers. Yes, 1×1 duels too.No more zergs but battles everywhere for territories, areas, new objectives, dangerous quests, you decide.
It would be fun, hard and good to play everyday.
I disagree. This would actually increase the zerg. Only mega zerg guilds would be able to run on the maps. Its doesn’t take skill for 60 people to wipe 10. Not to mention what would you fight over? Anything you control would be lost as soon as your guild moves to something else. Today I fight for my server, my guild joins others to further that goal. The megaserver killed server communities as is outside of WvW, this would only make it worse. I have enjoyed open PvP games before but there was still an element in your side/their side in it, this would be a free for all which would attract very few people. Sorry -1 here.

I know no one agrees on what EoTM is, a karma farm, WvW, PvE. But saw something that was a bit much to this weekend. Cross server guild that coordinates and calls out not to fight a side because they are working on avoiding each other. Now the EULA talks about match manipulation but doesn’t use the word collude. Question is was that the intent.
I know the game was built to allow multiple sides to attack a third, but what’s different here is this is closer to kill trading and gold sellers farming themselves to raise and sell toons. I think this is a side effect of removing champ trains, which had its own reasons, but this is a negative impact on EoTM which is a good map. Until EoTM is more closely tied or loosened from regular WvW people will argue on it’s purpose.
I can agree with the people wanting to defend, I can agree with the people wanting to karma farm, I can agree with people wanting to fight. But actively colluding and then asking people to join you in it and calling people out for not….expect resistance. Good hunting!

That’s the biggest issue against the activities at times, you will find ones you really like and don’t like and then are stuck if they are not up. To me the Winter’s event (Snowball Mayhem) was a ton of fun and then its gone until next year. A lot of the others just don’t hit the same spot and therefore that part of the game is skipped which is a shame. I get keeping them special but the rotation schedule could use a review.

i’d like to know how big the patch is gonna be, just to anticipate, you know, because not everyone have unlimited downloads, and if I go past a few gigabites, my internet is gonna shut down for the rest of the month.. so yeah, even if it’s just speculation, it would be greatly apreciated
You should probably look at getting a different ISP. There are quite a few out there these days with unlimited downloads/bandwidth, some do come with a fair usage policy but I’ve never met anyone who has had the policy inforced.
Sadly sometimes options are limited. Fair usage occurs a lot if you are forced into a satellite service. First time you encounter it you think something has gone wrong with your equipment until you start to dig into your router settings. Same boat as OP, it would be nice to see the download size posted somewhere to plan for the update.

Some of the best programmers I have ever meet are terrible at spelling and grammar, don’t mix them. Not to mention the application developers are probably not writing the web content, regardless of whether or not they were making a pun, so double assumptions there. Just saying don’t assume one is related to the other.
