Markets change rapidly, so any advice you get now will be void in 3 days.
Put in small orders to test the waters for different things, don’t go straight into buying 10 stacks on something you aren’t sure will sell.
Not all markets the same . Some items will move instaneous and others will stall for seemingly forever lol , the more patient you are the more moolah you will make (Even though its arguable) .
My advice is pay attention to tkittenb and Flow of the items on the TP .
I used to use GW2Spidy and sort the list by most profit , despite my hitch that these items will be extremely violatile in price(seeing as so many use GW2 spidy and sort by most profits gained). So sorting by supply and demand I filtered the items and started spending my 200g on inscriptions…longstory short the items prices tanked because the supply quadrupled in 1 week’s time and i ended up with a 200g lost…told myself ill never use GW2spidy that way again . Now i simply pay attention to the flow of events within GW2 and speculations , and use GW2spidy to check the flow of supply on items…since ive adopted this new tactic ive been swimming in gold. Especially with the T6 crisis going on
Everything i tell you , EVER-E-TING.
you gonna be specific, troll, or just going to troll?
To be honest with you though , i don’t know anything about Engineer…. im merely talking out of my posteria , because i don’t know if Rifle range untraited 1000 or 1100
Well at least you admitted it ^^

Whoa whoa whoa now , calm down …lets not get off topic (redundancy).

Pseudo Thief.
I Pity the fool!
All that red text is coming from your enemies attempting to attack you while you spamming blind in Plague Form.
I have yet to been bursted down by a single thief or warrior when running it. A simple blinding powder to a dodge roll usually stops their burst and if not you should be fine sitting on 19-20k hp with around 2.5k armor. Looks like I surpassed you….. Till we meet again <3 =P
Lol you think 20k hp and 2.5k armor is somthing…do you even play bro?
Theres glass specs out there that make 3.8k look like 2.1k…
Wish you two all the best.

I’ll pit my Galic Gun against your Kamehameha any day.
YOUR POWER LEVEL IS AMAZING!!! IT’S OVER 9000!!!
WHAT?! 9000! NO WAY IT CAN BE THAT HIGH!
It’s not. It’s actually 1006. Colin has his scouter on the wrong way.
Thats was funny , good way to start a morning lol
I Roam with Sanny them quite a bit , they pretty legit ^^
Real quick!
Since you’re obviously intimately experienced with thief mechanics!
- Name every single thief weapon skill that provides KB/KD/Blowout
- Name every single thief weapon skill that provides daze over .5s
- Name every single thief weapon skill that provides fear
- Name every single thief weapon skill that provides Daze over .5
- Name every single thief weapon skill that provides immobilize over 1s.That list looking a little light? I wonder why?.
Because having easy to access CC on initiative would be incredibly broken, I just imagine all thieves running CC spamming with high initiative regen builds… Then I immagine people complaining about that and Thieves answering “Just dodge it” (realistic, don’t you say?).
Obviously that doesn’t mean that you have no access to CC at all.
- When you steal from Guardian, you get 4s of Daze. No other profession in this game have such an high daze duration.
- When you steal from Necro you have up to 3s fear.
- You have Tactical Strike from Sword that Daze for 1.5s, which isn’t that bad considering that it can be potentially used every kitten .
- You have 4s of immobilization from Devourer Venom.
- You have 1.5s of stun from Basilisk VenomNot to say how crucial can be a CC in the right time considering how much damage a Thief is capable to do in a couple of seconds.
Anyway, I don’t know why you posted that list as an answer to what Atherakhia said.
Initiative system encourage mindless spamming and unskilled play as it is now.
Giving too much utility on a single skill and on low initiative cost of course will encourage everyone to use that skill over and over and to use the whole initiative pool on that skill. FS has everything in it. Boon stealing, evade and damage. Why everyone would bother to use any other skill in the bar if everything is on FS?
This is the design flaws people are talking about.I also don’t understand people saying that Thieves are easy to control through CC, specially S/D thieves. They have a stunbreaker on initiative, plus they have the most reliable set of stunbreakers in the game (somebody said Shadowstep with 2 stunbreaks in 50s?). I think Thief is the profession which suffer from stuns the least.
you cant relate utility skills bc they have 0 to do with initiative. his point is you cant spam anything with initiative skills. also your cumulative math is wrong. they only add up to that on venom and other skills if ur hitting them once…then waiting….once it expires you hit them again…then wait…. nobody does this…they just hit hit hit hit hit hit and hit again all as fast as they can bc as a thief its a race to get their hp down before they can recover….if they can recover with heals etc fast enough you have 0 chance of killing.
devourer venom is more like 2.3 seconds instead of your suggested 4.
Fear is only 2 seconds instead of your 3 suggested.
i get ur point…our stolen daze is really nice….buty its totally circumstantial too…we dont have this or fear or any stolen skill on demand. and i usually end up missing daze steal about 2/3 times bc its soooooo slow you have to walk up and basically ask permisssion to use it lol. i mean its like ATLEAST a 1 sec activation.
CC is more than just stuns….so controling a thief by stacking Chill….cripple….stun…..daze….immobilize…..root….stone….KD…KB…blowout….pull/push and all the guardian/mesmer skills. a thief is quite easy to control. thats why thieves roam in fact. too much cc = no chance = death in 2-3 seconds. on my guardian…when people gang up 6 or 7 at a time. i can still survive 20-30 seconds. compared to 1-2 against the same amount. i know its bc of the class differences but if its 6-7 attacking my thief and they DONT use CC skills….they have a slim to none chance of stopping/killing me. i would probably kill all 7 if they didnt have CC’s.
Shows how truly spoiled you guys are lol , 1 sec cast time is like a few days to you guys…I do think they should buff thieves Sword MH to pre-nerf shortbow for Ranger , also increase the co efficient by 50%.
Speaking of thieves being OP on the Thieves Forum is like speaking of Fight Club..rule number one is never…and i mean never speak of..well you get the idea. Dont forget it…
Also Rangers by leaps and bounds hold the record for the greatest healer in game lol , they got troll seeman in a jar to heal their wounds , try to beat that …
Im assuming he meant to say Larcenous Strike , and yeah S/D thief has to be wittled down or nuked…dont bother with the CC lol…played against one on my 100% boon duration 30k hp Engie …lets just say it was like watching pve thief versus top 100 thief lmao ><
Anyhow,
@the rest: I decided that it was just an extremely strong elite in 1v1 duels, and about where it should be in proper tPvP, so this thread can be locked. I would like to say that I am somewhat disappointed in a lot of the responses to this thread, as rather than trying to be constructive or helpful they seem to be meant more towards flaming me as opposed to anything else. I typically welcome other players from other communities fairly readily to the Thief forum, and while I understand that it can be frustrating to have something called “OP”, I did not instantaneously come here to ask “NERFNERFNERF” (unlike other profs have done to thieves), I just came here to ask for a more useful perspective on the elite, and I maintained a very open-minded view throughout my posts. A few of you, earlier in the thread, were quite helpful and generally friendly, but I’m disappointed that the rest of you decided to act so immaturely.

We don’t welcome your kind around these parts …drop the stealth act and maybe we’ll think about not dropping Fort Knox on your frail body , and that goes for you or any other mouth breathing thief you summon
Best Regards
Fed up EngieI wasn’t going to say anything, but I couldn’t resist…
I don’t even touch stealth, it sucks in tPvP for almost every single thing imaginable. Nice try though.
Well now we talking.
What post you seen that in? , i simply stated they are kitten lol..never said i hate them.
Cool cool.
15 cool pts.
Dont focus the turrets and they wear you down , focus the turrets and you get wore down… i approve…

Lol seems to me you know nothing about the Engineer class lol..also the Ranger is quite fine man , don’t let the run of the mill qqers deter you from picking them , and the pet is quite vicious despite minor hiccups.
Take majority of the stuff you hear on forums with a grain of salt because people usually loiters here to cry nerf / buff to any and everything , dont get sucked in their void of despair …they just want a shoulder to cry on (most times anyway)
i didnt cry nerf or buff to anything. what about engineers do you think i was wrong about?
Everything i tell you , EVER-E-TING.
Talk about crippling viability , if they remove food whats left? Spvp with trash mobs and a flooded lagged out map?
So I tested max toughness mesmer with heals and an idefender and he kills me before I really see him. Ask anet what to say to this video XD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k99BKVpBxXQ
This is why people complain. Imagine what he does to GC thief or any other non tank.
Imagine if you werent backpeddaling, had your skills bound, had a clue what you were doing. You might aswell have been Awau from Keyboard(srsly filtered?) with that performance :|.
On a less offensive note, take a week/month/year off and learn to actully utilize your keyboard propperly. There are plenty of videos on youtube that can help you.
I’d Suggest you start off by unbinding your backpeddal key, unplug your mouse and learn to you use your skills without click on a npc dummy and when you feel comfortable you plug in your mouse again and learn moving around propperlyThere is no Excuse to click skills unless you lack arms.
I been clicking since Jan 24th , and i roll with the punches.

It does lol , and yeah definitely get that mouse man…
@Ross Biddle.2367 If you tired of getting facerolled by Mesmers , roll one …plain and simple.
On 3k atk power im hitting 350ish per retal tick
as someone who plays both, engineers are very clunky.
Engineer vs Ranger:Range:
Engineers basic weapon sets have fairly short effective ranges, which can be frustrating in wvw. Rifles auto attack is 1100 without traits and all the other attacks are much shorter. Pistols have a range of 900. Compared to the Ranger, who has two bows which can shoot at 1200 without traits. Grenades (engineer) and Longbow (ranger) can both be traited for 1500 range, but grenades require ground targeting and miss very often (making something as simple as autoattacking while moving fairly tedious).Damage:
Both classes do great damage. They can both burst very well if specced for it, they are both the only classes with easy access to burning/bleeding/poison making them great at conditions, and they both have solid melee aoe with flamethrowers/bombs and greatsword.Survivability:
Probably equal here. Rangers have more survival potential while engineers have great automated defenses. Both classes have oh-crap buttons, the same hp and armor and viable bunker specs and good condition removal. Disengaging as a ranger will be a function of weapon choice (sword/greatsword) while an engineer will probably have to slot for it (elixers, gadgets).Group support:
Both are great in groups bringing water fields and nice buffs. Engineer support roles (elixers or healing bombs) are much more viable than rangers (spirits, while powerful, are a class joke) but both bring a lot if played well. Sadly, no one asks for support classes because high end pve is a guadian/warrior/ele sherade (read: aoe damage classes with buffs and or heals), but if you are casual this shouldnt matter. All in all, i prefer my ranger because the skills are more reliable and many builds are viable, but the RNG of engineer skills does give them a certain charm.
Edit:
I mostly wvw, and have most classes to 80 in exotics. Ranger is an excellent wvw class, solo or grouped. For outdoor PVE, you simply are not going to find a better class than the Ranger.
For indoor PVE, it is probably the worst off because Anet refuses to give pets aoe damage reduction and the state of spirits. That said, I never felt like a hinderance to my groups because we still offer a lot. Healing spring is the best combo field in the game, period. Rangers have huge aoe-cc, with muddy terrain, spike trap, chill trap, canine aoe immobilizes/chills/fears and entangle that can make the hardest fights easy. Pets can be mitagated by using them as buff bots (moas) or ranged dps (spiders, devourers). The only time class really becomes an issue is elite high level fractals, and if you’re not a guardian/warrior/ele you probably aren’t going so being an engineer wont help.
Lol seems to me you know nothing about the Engineer class lol..also the Ranger is quite fine man , don’t let the run of the mill qqers deter you from picking them , and the pet is quite vicious despite minor hiccups.

I think the reason you’re self proclaimed a ranged noob is because im sure you probably have the same issues when i had joined this game , keeping screen straight and sticking to target. Ask yourself why you dont sees many good warriors lol , they dont stick very well and gw2 is a game of kiting . Finally after 4 months of play i can stick on an opponent like waste on an senior citizen .
Engies who running grenades and know what they doing going to nuke you everytime you even remotely go for a backstab , you’re timing is going have to be quite good or you’ll be hit with ample amounts of conditions / direct damage before you know it. Dagger is quite terrible against us but only thing lately thats even worth its weight in salt is that S/D daze out of stealth..tampers with rotation like no other lol
Who cares , just enjoy the game.

ah ok thanks for the replies ^^
But before you couldnt pm them only send them mail Q.Q
Yeah looks liek they booby trapping the ground lol , they have the entire siege animation…and NO it wont work with Elixir S Q.Q
Lets just assume he had no defense.
Seems everyone have their form of bunkering xD
Well now you got me scared.
LOL i thought i was the only one with this issue…but when i came 5 months back Engineers were the worst class and to some degree ppl still think of them as being trash so it remedied my issue right away….actually back then Mesmers were few and far between then Engie became the new underdog
TLDR: I feel your pain , it really sucks to be a Rerollaholic
Ok lately as usual ive been online and invisible , and one of my friends who’s in my guild and friend list tend to pm me while invisible and being no where near my vincinity. How is that possible? Or did they change somthing (ANET).
It’s arguably the best 1v1 elite in the entire game. Its effect becomes substantially reduced when used in larger fights or in fights with large amounts of AoE. Cleave down the turrets in small scale. If you can’t cleave down the turrets, run.
To nitpick a bit, the best 1v1 elite is Moa Morph.
Still, I do have to reflect the sentiment that everyone else has about the Supply Crate, but in list form. Cuz I’m weird like that.
*It’s a quick AoE stun and has good healing and control. In condition builds the burn is pretty good, too.
*It’s effect diminishes quickly if it is not a 1v1 scenario.
*They are vulnerable to AoEs.
*They don’t have the best AI. Mesmers and minion necros will mess you up.
*The supply crate gets a whole lot better with turret increasing traits.
*It is best in sPVP. In WvW people just run away, in PVE enemies are either too weak or they’re strong enough to bowl them over effortlessly. So it has its place. In PVE and WvW on the engi I mostly use the Hounds of Balthazar as my elite. It’s similar in that it does burning damage, but the hounds chase people down and do more direct damage.
In sPVP I love it, though. I run a turret build, and for me the supply crate is useful as either a backup set when they’re all on cooldown, or if I’m fighting someone really good they’re basically round two for my opponents.
I’m not too sure the best 1v1 elite is moa. In a 1v1 it’s very easy to dodge and it’s difficult to chain a shatter combo into. At best it might win a fight for a mesmer, at worst it makes the person run away.
I’d personally rather have supply crate than moa in 1v1s, but I guess all this is aside the point eh?
An Engineer turning somone into a Moa , only in Tyria huh.
Guess people are missing the point: i know that they simply hit whatever is near them, as things stands now. And their terrible AI is well known too.
What i’m saying is that since they are turrets, thus mechanical beings, there is a case where this doesn’t make sense logically; that is, illusions.
If devs wanted, there would be logical reasons to basically make turrets a sort of counter to mesmers’ illusions. Giving them reasons to go after turrets before killing the one who set them up – a thing they do directly, as now.
Before we go THAT in depth about them countering Mesmers dude THEY MUST function properly…you should make this topic when they are out of alpha stage.
Supply Crate OP now , check.
Heart of the Mists is the pvp world.
