If you level 80 you should know how pve works by now , A mob is a normal and hits 5k with a 1 sec cast time , B mob is a Vet who hits 200s rapidly..and mob C is vet and hits 10k every 5 secs.

What’ll remedy this dilemma is give ALL the kitten classes stealth…how about a 4 sec stealth on a 5 sec CD with 3 secs of reveal…that’ll even the playing fields

If they want to admit it or not , stealth is completely broken and abused and thieves are the culprit…Mesmers ability to abuse invulnerability (distortion) on a very low CD is a very close runner up..but you get to at least see (most times anyways) the real mesmer instead of being pray by any thief with half a brain ….

Oh I forgot, yes the server size is a joke. I remember awhile back like 4 months ago, there use to be things called dynamic events. I went to lone post yesterday on JQ server which is full. nobody there. I goto jelako waypoint, nobody there either. I remembered when the champ abomination in cursed shores would go down immediately, hes been up for days. The only zone that has overflow is southsun cove, and the player capacity isn’t that big either. THATS THE ONLY ZONE. every other zone is empty or nothing going on.

JQ being full is some bullkitten, because it aint nowhere near full, and recently there isn’t anyone in wvw except in eb and sometimes jq bl but nowhere else.

Its based on accounts registered on JQ not activeness…lol

Why weren’t you complaining when they were 4-8g each? Were the colors less appealing then? I think most likely you missed out on an opportunity to make money so you are trying to punish other people for it.

Anyone who thinks Thieves are overpowered are either extremely bad, or braindead.

Lets consider this:
pve – potentially the worst class in the game
pvp – very little play and good at ganking people who are glass cannon-ish or bad
wvw – pretty much roamers and scouts. This is the majority of my gameplay as a thief, I also have an 80 warrior, ele, guardian, and mesmer.

Guardian – super tanky and can achieve decent dps with amazing survivability, blast finishers, and group support. Also can roflstomp a thief in 1v1 1 handed while sipping a kittentail and chatting with your mother on the phone depending on their weapon selection (traits don’t even matter if you know what you’re doing).
Mesmer – the only class in the game that has probably seen the nerf bat as bad if not worse than the thief. at least they have good group utility with time warp portal null field and feedback. Still feel bad for my mesmer friends
Warrior – extremely vanilla but can still stomp a thief like nobodies business, especially if your pvt.
Ele – D/D got nerfed but rightfully so, do-it-all builds that are THAT strong need a nerf. Staff ele still has amazing group support via combo fields, heals, siege situations, and general gameplay, just kinda boring imo.

Thieves are forced to be either 1 of 2 things in wvw – a super scout with massive survivability and mobility where you get no bags and feel like some 8 yearold birthday party clown, and/or pistol dagger sleepfest, or you go massive burst, sacrifice EVERYTHING to do so, and fail 1/2 the time at what you’ve worked so hard to get, and get CRUSHED in zerg fights

Enough of this bs crying about stealth. Thieves are slippery? It ran away? Great. your still alive and just mildly frustrated. Deal with it. roll a necro and be the flavor of the month op wvw class like everybody else or gtfo. Thief was DESIGNED by their trait line to obtain massive dps through raw crit chance and overall damage buffs, and were nerfed according to people who play these classes so badly that if a thief were to play say pvt gear or knights or any survivable set, they would be doing far less dps than other classes that don’t have the lowest health pool and medium armor AND still have no group synergy. Class is bad as it stands. Play one before you kitten, learn their weaknesses and youll never have a problem with them in wvw.

TL:DR – If you think thieves are OP you don’t play one or you’re bad at the game. Thanks.

Its op as kitten in wvw, no challenge to play, i’m not saying i’m amazing, but i like to think i’m pretty good, and my opponents arent scaled nubs, they know how to play. all i want is for anet to make the class hard to play.. make it so we can be de-stealthed by aoe (but no reveal buff) or something, nerf our damage a little, i really don’t mind, just make the class a kitten challenge to both play and fight against.

tl;dr thief is not challenging to play. (1k hours on one, i know)

Thieves need a few nerfs, correct, but they need a complete redesign. Stealth is an OP mechanic in any MMORPG, Arenanet should have known this. GW1 Assassin, GW1 Necromancer, GW1 Monk, they were all effective and better balanced, or atleast more so than this game. They were also significantly more interesting and fun.

I completely agree with this..its not the thieves that are OP its the entire stealth mechanic , anytime you can make any player your pray via constant stealth and blinds you’re OP. They’re blowing skills to HOPE to hit you while you sitting back laughing and getting ready to hand them their inevitable death.

I’m farming in Southsun Cove and I’m getting 4 gold per hour, 1 consortium chest per hour and even a 200% magic find boost.

I’m not saying that you’re wrong or anything, or even that you’re padding your numbers a bit. But I do know that when I spend an hour doing stuff in Southsun cove, I get no where close to the numbers you’re claiming, even with the 200 MF boost.

I don’t about anyone else (though I have some hunches ) but I might actually like to hear Anet’s idea of how they think we should go about earning money in this game. It’s a pretty safe bet that CoF p1 will be targeted soon (as other dungeons already have) as well as any place that proves to be “too profitable” by whatever metric they’re using. For my part, I don’t think that’s all bad, as keeping inflation under control is definitely very important. However, what are we to do to make money?

After these repeated nerfs to farming locations, combined with the somewhat unrewarding nature of much of the rest of the game, its quickly looking like the unavoidable conclusion is that, the only ways they want to see players become “wealthy” is by either playing the game in a way that is not FUN (like not finishing events so we can farm or GRIND our brains out) or to spend REAL WORLD MONEY for GEMS. Players, like me, who have stopped paying for gems until we start to see some of the improvements we’ve asked for (and been promised)… to say nothing of those who can’t afford the over-the-top gem prices … are quickly being left with no FUN alternatives Anet.

If you WANT to alienate your customers and cause them to stop playing, keep it up. (Hey, at least it’ll keep your server costs down). There are plenty of other places to spend money in life… personally I’m starting to think Anet has lost out on any future revenue from me (but I am willing to give them perhaps one or two more chances IF they earn them).

I Highly doubt he’s padding those numbers , actually his numbers are a bit lackluster imo ..im avging 10g at the least , and if you don’t believe me ill like you to farm with me and i’ll show you how i do it . I’m like a well oiled machine when it comes to farming anything in this game.

The warior has probably one of the worst condition removals in the game, in fact, the wariors in the video had 0 condition removal so, being hit by a death bolossom will ensure them taking 3000 damage over 10 seconds (10 seconds of 3 stacks of bleed at 100 damage/tick), even the thief was making errors by leting himself get hit and spaming death blossom.
If there was a better thief in the video (i dont use thief BTW) he could easily take 3 wariors and still win.
Oh and i play warior so i know they have 0 condition removal.
I main warrior, but been playing my new thief a lot,
warrior mending heal is like 2 removals, shake it off is 2 (3 with soldier runes) fgj and omm also condition remover with runes. They don’t actually have 0

I also main a warior, and i know we can have condition removal, but you should play a bit more with your warrior because missed something:
1.Shake it off removes 1 condition and for many people (including myself) its uor only stun breaker
2.you can use mending to remove conditions but you dont really need the heal (you are almost at max hp in example), so it makes you choose
3. you may need other utilities instead of more shouts, and also you have to sacrifice your runes for condition removal while other classes have plenty of acces to them.

I have 1209 hours hours played on my warrior and don’t have issues with thieves, just irks me when people say warriors have 0 condition removals. Mesmers are in a far worse spot when it comes to condition removal, they have to use null field, a mantra and trait for remove condition on heal and still have a very very hard time against a p/d thief

This irks me for multiple reasons. For one thing, we’ve gone to countless other forums over and over and over again giving people advice, and yet people keep coming to us asking the exact same things over and over again. It’s ridiculous. I’m sorry if we seemed condescending to you, but understand that after people have labeled the thief as “broken” or “OP”, and the only visibly apparent way to keep ANet from nerfing us into oblivion is to keep helping noobs so that they can counter us, we get really tired really quickly of answering questions like this.
