our stealth is fine at the minute, if you want high stealth uptime (for whatever reason) the options are already there. it’s better used tactically though in my experience.
we certainly don’t need more. bumping veil up a bit would be nice however.
I am NOT saying increase duration or anything, just add it to a few other weapons. Nothing more.
Definitely don’t need anymore stealth , what i do believe however your inner Thief is coming out , its about that time to make a switch.
All I see from you is:
“>werlegion, amirite, problem?, umad?, hue hue hue, trollface.jpg, heaven”I think you’ve mistaken gw2 community as something else. Your inability to adept to thief changes over the past months shouldn’t be vented onto players who seek honest advice. If you can’t be mature enough to help others out and you see everything as a personal nerf attack to “your” profession then you shouldn’t post at all. Other people deal with the changes to certain professions by adapting to it and gladly give out tips to improve the overall gameplay for other players aswell. Furthermore, it’s not like thief is awful in wubwub or smth.
LMAO +1
I’ve played since BWE2 and there’s nothing that the engi can absolutely 100% do over and over again to burst anything.
.
Yeah makes me wonder did you make a typo there? I use the same build in s/tpvp lol and people NEVER expect an Engie to instagibb them , they always ask wtf was that? SD baby
(edited by TheOneNOnlyGeneralBama.9586)
Yeah since the patch i rarely have ran into any hybrid necros only condition spammers and leg twitching boon corrupters…sickens me how they can take all your hard earned boons and turn them into moot “FOR FUN” ….most of them have no clue what they doing but it looks cool to turn orange into red..i may start running it on my 29k engie now…cause necros are on my bad side lol
Lol whats “run” in all instances lately is the lackluster PBR , rocket turret , rocket boots , and i even seen a guy running a random Elix B in his SD build lmao ….seems no one knows how to properly set one up let alone utilize it…such a sad sight to see and quite tiresome.
Not all of us are building for the LOLPWNZDPS!!1!
Some of us are playing for fun, and having some versatility instead of slotting a utility that you basically never use (the rifle turret) we would rather have the knockback, the range, or combat movement, etc.
If you find it tiresome that others don’t play the way you want, then don’t look at their builds.
The point of Static Discharge is to increase DPS. The trait literally only serves the purpose of doing more damage. The metagame isn’t going to change because you have a different playstyle. If you are not using the shortest possible CD’s or the hardest hitting tool belt skills you aren’t built for SD. I don’t presume to know what your playstyle is or is not, but slotting an Elixir and also slotting Static Discharge is just a poor decision (with one exception for the Static Discharge + Acidic Elixirs “boon hater” build 10/0/10/20/30).
Everyone is free to play as they like, but keep in mind “Bad” is a playstyle few respect.
+1 (Couldnt of said it better myself) No reason for me to respond.
Your stats are perfectly fine , as long as you round out your build with reliant condition removal and 1 stunbreaker. You’re definitely running an optimum build , 2 SBS and turret to control conditions , starting to boil down to how effect you are at dodging key skills and precision with your grenades.

ALL MMOs , esp if it been out over a span of a month or so…you’ll be lucky to catch somone running around in this lower zones grinding , i’ve quit games in the past not knowing everyone was of higher level and having fun while i was busting my kitten trying to catch up to all the cool kids lol. Just focus on leveling OP , you’ll find out where everyone at once you’re of sufficient level..
I vote 50s per..1g a bit much
Once a day per zone’s location ..so if you do the one in Queensdale near the Centaurs then you no longer get to loot that one , itll pop up on your map but u get there and get to only open empty bags.
Fortune scraps is seriously a horrible idea…
Asuran are by default hideous. sorry
Or just wait till they update the build editors ….
Well your return sure does put a smile on my face , i always wondered where you went …now i can go about my day happily knowing “Choops” returned …wonderful day indeed . WB!
Yeah, I just wonder sometimes if those who have access to the ‘Live Server’ and get early access to some of the information are using that information to their/their friend’s advantage.
Not accusing anyone of anything, but could be a little ‘insider information’ type of thing if people are profitting from early knowledge of things like this.
Haven’t seen anything to indicate that this is happening, just commenting on the potential.
No speculations to be had , the better question is why wouldn’t they.
Turrets actually hurt , but yes the problem is their AI is terrible and they made of tinfoil. If they’re spread out , simply trying to focus them down could be the beginning of the end for you.
Kind of a tough one but i’d still vote warriors till they get better ways to sustain.
A simple concept yet so complicated by the feeble minded , clearly you yourself doesnt understand the OP’s plot , so i’d keep all ad hominem atks to myself.
Berzerker gear when coupled with a skilled player is quite devastating in pve and pvp/wvw alike . If you’re not apt with your class or have quick reaction times don’t run zerker gear..esp if you have a crap pc. I run it with 2k armor only on 15 max fps and its nasty. However , it won’t work for ALL instances of the game …but majority sure but certain instances your team of zerks need a backbone..with you being the guard it should be your role to keep the dps up.
Nah because our knockdowns on ourselves are considered skill animations not control effects used by an opp. so NO the trait wont affect it.
Lol whats “run” in all instances lately is the lackluster PBR , rocket turret , rocket boots , and i even seen a guy running a random Elix B in his SD build lmao ….seems no one knows how to properly set one up let alone utilize it…such a sad sight to see and quite tiresome.
Lmao , dat terrain.
My money on a full ascended SD build , there is no defense to such build if its maxed.
2600 armor for one of those is child’s play
1. you took damage before the C&D, your health was below 50%, hence his Executioner trait was in effect (20% damage increase),
2. he likely had sigils of night + force on his weapons (15% increase) and runes of scholar (10% increase),
3. Assassin’s Signet (15% increase) and Dagger Training (5% increase),
4. you probably had some conditions (10% increase),
5. you probably had some vulnerability stacks,
6. he was likely buffed through the roof with might, fury and consumables, and was wearing BiS zerker gear.
tl;dr, Bearing all these damage modifiers and RNG in mind, 10,831 C&D isn’t strange.
LOL 10.8k CND isnt strangle , blasphemy…i would of love to see his backstab for pete’s sake lmao
The Flamethrower is an utility kit , never forget that BUT however with a mixture you can literally cook ppl if you can control your channel with precision.
Pretty much unless stated otherwise.
I have 1500 hrs on engie my friend and i know for an fact we do have no mortar , at least not one thats been Engineered and in working condition.
It actually applies to all forms of control abilities and fear also.
Did you even go to the link and read it dude?
Here is all you need
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Transmutation
Just don’t come back here to complain because we’ll give you a big fat i TOLD YOU SO
/Warrior Community
Why would you even want to fire it? Wait why are we even discussing mortars? :S
Dom Dom Doooooommmmm…
Keyboard is far superior.
Roll necro and be a complete boss.
Well i was almost 1200 range from my tower gate (inside) and Orbs of Wrath were completely bypassing the gate and hitting me for massive dmg..how? I have no idea but i do understand being NEAR gates you’re subsceptible to AOE or cleave but to be 1200 back and still get hit is preposterous.
Most of you people are just purely anti social , how exactly are you that behind walls of text and representation by a pixel? I can’t begin to fathom.
LOL , your signet does work in combat…only time it doesnt is when you activate which is see ALOT of bad thieves open the battle with…how do you think thieves actually stay near a kiter? it for darn sure aint with perma swiftness lol
I run 2.8k defense in WvW and a thief shadowstep CnDed me for 6k , i reaaaallllyy wanted to know what his backstab would hit for but once i seen the blind animation i put up my gearshield …
I think warriors should get a signet like the one eles use , per strike you heal.
I don’t blame him, now that people are finally starting to realize/share the power of using stun + Unsuspecting Foe + GS/Axe Burst, allowing one to effectively be more tanky while still producing heavy burst, it is probably only a matter of time before the trait is moved to a Master or Grandmaster slot that will ruin builds that people have been using since release.
You didnt bother to read OP???
orYou r troll, OP asked about LB but ur answer is: “using stun + Unsuspecting Foe + GS/Axe Burst”
That was constructive criticism , that was the premise of what the OP talked about..you’re having issue comprehending. All the builds that been nerfed have been cookie cutted , so to cut down on it people withheld.
My opinion is all of the professions should have f1-f4 abilities , lets raise that skill ceiling beyond belief.
You know what counters Rifle using engies or CC built Engies? Warriors Last Stand trait , Dogged March and Bowl of Lemongrass …like the worst type of warrior to encounter if you rely on CCs of any type…direct counter but i didnt call for a nerf…that in itself speaks volumes.
Any Way To Lower Particle Effects?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: TheOneNOnlyGeneralBama.9586
I don’t know if it will help the issue, although I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the density of particle effects or something like this ingame?
The problem is, I’m playing as a Thief and have some traits that require me to attack a foe from behind or the side. I try to position myself to the side or behind a boss, although due to the large amount of particle effects surrounding the enemy, because of other players bombarding them with spells etc, I find it very hard to actually see the enemy.
So basically, is there any kind of option to toggle which will allow me to see the enemy more clearly? I don’t mind lowering some graphical options if that’s the issue.
Thanks guys.
Sadly no.
They are however working on a solution to that issue currently.
No. It was not okay with how massively popular Elixir R was as a stunbreak – almost no other stunbreaks were getting play after the nerfs to Elixir S. It’s still a widely used utility, which gets play in all game modes for support oriented builds. I personally prefer a 2nd kit, but it’s highly competitive.
The other stunbreaks weren’t being used simply because they are awful.
Exactly the same reason why almost no one uses Elixir S anymore.
And instead of making them decent enough, they pulled Elixir R at their level. And now the utility itself is useless.2 extra dodge rolls every 24 seconds on top of Vigor and a Sigil of Energy is actually still quite ridiculous, especially if you can slot Runes of the Adventurer in there too.
I think the one thing that would make Elixir R more viable as it is right now would be making it an instant cast. Right now there’s that chugging animation delay, which makes it kinda awkward to use.
Elixir S used to be on a scale 1-10 a 12 (OP)
Now its merely a 6 (imo) lmao but its ok….Elixir S still has plenty of use in WvW, I think. It’s also our only source of Stability.
Well 6 is pretty good wouldnt you agree?
lol I forgot that but I still don’t think engineers have had any other viable builds besides the bunker, I don’t think they have ever had an offensive roaming build ever.
Idk 10/30/0/0/30 is fun as hell to roam with in spvp :P 100-0 in 1.5 seconds with some splash damage is well worth being squishy.
lol you are one of few sir ill give you that I can personally say I have never seen a roaming engineer that was viable since the first couple weeks of the game. if you are good at it you are one of the few that is skilled enough to do good, so feel privileged!
Posts like this make me wonder do you even play GW2 seriously , if you’re attempting humour please notify us.
Perma cripple underwater the massive overall defenses , and 100% crit chance with Whirlpool , garbage Elite? HARDLY!
If the rest of your party is dying, assuming you’re playing in a group doing high UW fractal or some such, Supply Drop still comes out on top.
In all honesty in all my 1400 engie hrs , I never used that darn supply crate underwater because it simply has no cursor so it always bothered me lol , to each his own
Against condition specs, it’s essentially an invulnerability button.
Yes, I’m aware that conditions that had been applied prior to the traits activation will continue to tick, and also of the tooltip change that will allow any conditions you have with more than 100% duration to also get some damage in, but that damage is barely anything that can’t be out-healed or ignored and good Engis will generally cleanse the residual conditions after the trait kicks in, knowing they won’t need cleanses at said point.
I can understand it being a different situation in WvW, due to superior stats via buffs and gear, but it’s just ridiculous in PvP. My alt is a Necro and I’ve always been pure Rabid, with staff and scepter/dagger, long before Necros were where they’re at now. I generally only played my Necro in WvW due to their lack of viability in competitive PvP, but then naturally I decided to check out what all of the commotion was about. I’ve dueled a few dozen Engis in the past week and almost all of them, understandably, have taken this trait and become immune to what seems like 95% of my damage. I’ve always required someone to come in and finish them off for me, or I’ve had to run. You can guess how much people would cry if a profession got a similar “immunity to all direct damage” trait. I don’t understand how this is even in the game, to be honest.
Anyway, decreasing the condition reduction would be enough. 100% is just too much.
How about you get rid of all the fears , tone down the massive hp pool , and stop manipulating our conditions maybe we wouldn’t use such trait hmmmmm , i’d love to spec into pure condition dmg or power or a combo of both but then guess what that leaves? a low hp pool…one of which you have a innately large one and not to mention a 2nd one..with a fear w/o needing LOS. So the fact you yelling Nerf when you’re currently running the most OP thing since zerker came out , blasphemy i tell you.
(edited by TheOneNOnlyGeneralBama.9586)
Actually , the game compensates the lack of utilities and elites with increased stats .
Do you mean that an upscaled level 80 has higher base stats than an actual level 80?
Was that a real question?
Well seeing Bear rangers are usually followed by them auto attacking , sitting prone , randomly dodging and reacting in a delayed manner. When people play the ranger class they think Pokemon , so their ranks aren’t filled with the most competent players…
