Molten Furnace. Hardest one to not fall asleep.
They just can’t limit buff cap increase to raids only because game runs on potatoes and goat sacrifices. Op party composition argument is complete bs.
Play some aetherpath. Mobs there move from your attacks and sometimes even flank you. And all that adds exactly zero challenge. They are actually easier to fight since they end up moving more than attacking.
What if… the dungeon mobs actually attacked and moved around at the same time?
They still would be easy to kill I guess. They are called trash for a reason. Moving around only adds a bit of annoyance.
Today was the first time after 3 years and over 6000 hours of playtime that i consider to leave the game. This was the reason https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK1N_vqJPac&feature=youtu.be
No matter how many times i watch this and trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, it still turns out to be Arenanet giving the elementalists the finger, and not in a twisted funny way, but in a gloating ugly way.
Then i see how they tell us that Hey we have buffed your elite skill and it turns out you buffed the glyps, which very few of us ever uses anyway since the pet dies in two hits.
So in the end we still only have one elite still to use which is fiery sword and noone uses it for the damage but to move faster forward. The Icebow is dumbed down to a point were it will be useless, and since the axe and the shield was always uselss, so we now having 5 conjured weapons that noone will use, and we already had the useless glyphs, were one got less cd which have no meaning since the pets are easy to kill, which means in the end ele now have 10 skills that most of us never use.
But thank you for that gloating message from the Arena net staff on the twitch stream, your gtfo message is noticed.
Surely you’ve noticed in your 6000 hours of play that Ele has been the top class in GW2 PvE for a while now. Ice Bow was crazy, did far too much damage, and had to nerfed for the upcoming raid encounters.
If icebow had such a game breaking effect on raids then they should scrap them and start from the beginning.
Ice Bow did far too much damage in PvE encounters, especially against enemies with large hit boxes. It’s as simple as that. It amazes me that people actually think that it was OK for a single skill to deliver so much damage.
It is not ok. But if burst damage can break the encounter they probably did something wrong with the boss itself and nerfing 1 skill will not cut it.

I moved from my last game to GW2 exactly because i was tired to wait for hours for healers.
Just curious where do people find this info on todays MMOs. Cause even on low population games, healers are probably the easiest role to find. Much harder to find a good dps or a good tank, especially dps since most challenging content has a “timer”, meaning if you dont kill a boss in the given times it goes HULK SMASH.
Saying that you cba waiting hours for healers, just shows that you are clueless about MMOs and how they evolved.
Especially when a healer can just “respec” to become solid dps and vise versa, and especially when talking about the highest population MMO (GW2) and its mega-server mechanics….
Well, not all games are the same, and while it wasn’t a true mmo, in gw1 you could definately spend quite some time before you actually got a healer. Not to mention one ahs to take into account what region and time of day you play, if you’re not playing on peaktimes it will obviously take longer. Anyhow, kinda non-relevant , but jsut thought to mention that there are games out there where finding a healer isn’t the easiest to do.
Even if there are such games out there, Large MMOs are not like that.
Saying that you wonr be able to find healers in GW2 where there are unlimited amounts of players 24/7 is just laughable. This is just a typical doom and gloom thread created by the typical whiny people.
I played large MMOs with tanks and healers. Average q time for anything other than a healer is around 20-30 minutes at peak hours and up to an hour during the rest of the day. And that’s if you got a good healer. If party got unlucky you have to kick him and start again.
30 mins q time on a large MMO at peak times for top-end daily run dungs?
Something’s not right here…….
If you q alone as a dd and there are not that many healers that’s what you get. Of course there were occasions when q popped up in 10 minutes or so. It is still 9 minutes longer than gw2.
If you seriously believe that you will need 10 mins to find a healer in GW2, I’m wasting my time here…
It is hard to find banner bot that knows when to drop banners. So yeah. Maybe finding a guy with healer gear or healer copy pasted build will be easy but finding a guy that knows what the hell he is doing will be a lot harder.

Guardianway is kittening amazingly faceroll comp for pug groups. It fails way less than the standard meta comps.
If 5 Guardians are like that, imagine TEN, 10 guardians in raids. Call me crazy all you want, but I’m betting Guardianway will be the one of the easiest way to complete raids.
They will probably remove guardian from the game if first raid clear will be done with 10 guardians on the release day.

50% nerf means that instead of usual 7k-9k it will deal 3.5k-4.5k. Still better than most utilities.
You hope for more highly mobile mobs?
You do realise, that if a mob moves far enough to be out of lava font’s AoE any other class will have to move their “cleave” too, which will decrease your DPS too right? (Unless you are a staff elementalist who will hit with Autoattacks anyways again)
Moving mobs would be more a hit to ele dps because a lot of it comes from mobs sitting in lava font, other classes dps is more mobile and not static. Not many other classes rely on static persistent aoe to deal sustained dps
Besides its boring if the mob just sits there and eat everything. Its not very engaging at all.
Play some aetherpath. Mobs there move from your attacks and sometimes even flank you. And all that adds exactly zero challenge. They are actually easier to fight since they end up moving more than attacking.

Why can’t anet just give us ascended stuff rather than trinkets………. the technology to switch stats is already in the game………… y u do dis
I hope it is not because they decided to balance HoT around exotic armor lol.
It’s 100% opt-in. Don’t like it, don’t use it.
And potentially be excluded from content if you don’t reveal your gear via this site.
It has the potential to be very dangerous and divisive.
Don’t worry. Players have many ways to kick you even without this website. By the way it is anet that created this api and added ability to gearcheck with it so it is kinda intended.
Enjoy being a part of raids as a cookie-cutter build. The introduction of roles doesn’t change the fact that there will be a meta – and with a meta you won’t be playing much of anything but what the meta dictats for that content.
This will be so true lol. Smallest deviations from “healing meta” build can result in a party wipe. Elitism in pugs will reach new heights.
How very untrue. I know many players would like to think you need meta build to do specific content, but its not true, atleast from my experience. Not even once have i ran a meta build, since I started the game. Guess what? I never had any problems finding group to do any content in the game. I just purposefully avoid any groups in LFG who ask specifically for meta build.
Granted we still don’t know how things will go with the raids, but I don’t see meta builds becoming the only vaible way to run them.
Because right now nothing is required and everything is viable. As soon as something becomes required “meta” becomes very important and build diversity goes out of the window.

Most people missout on the absolutely best aspect about this. You get to reroll (or even make another) set of ascended armor. Good times!
/sarcasm
Finally there will be some use for all this healers chests I drop in fractals.
Arenanet is going to be (partially) wrong. It may not work for the number of people who run it now, but there’s going to be people who will be able to run it.
It may not work for everyone actually. It is possible that they will go lazy mode and just add tanking/healing checks.
Seriously, now we are relegated to healing in dungeons, fractals, HoT, and i am sure it will be a forced thing in WvW as well. So much for hoping my ranger might be viable in the game as something more than " Heal, Heal, Heal".
Only HoT and WvW.
Now the lack of beta testing time makes sense. It was dead before it was ever born. I could not be more disappointed.
He also hinted about unavoidable damage.
It could be CGI.
@OP we never had a nice community to begin with. Few heavily moderated subforums here and a bunch of rainbow puking guys on reddit don’t represent actual player base.
And yes f2p increases “toxicity” by completely removing entry barriers.
Dont see why they dont adress this honestly.
Its not like its a big deal to just explain the decision..
It could be that higher-ups don’t allow anyone to explain it. It happened few times in the past.
4 Weeks left, still missing a lot of info!

Again, it astonishes me that people are willing to pay $60 for things we have been getting for free.
Absolutely astonishing.
You are getting nothing that we weren’t getting before other than a handful of additions that are smaller than the updates we’ve gotten previously (again, for free).
This is a backwards step in terms of gaming progress, but I can see why they are doing it since so many players are more than willing to immediately rationalize dropping this money for nothing.
There is a relevant PT Barnum quote for this whole subforum…
What is astonishing is that you think everything was free !!
It was never free, basically everything what has been implemented since game release was included in the price of the core game.
It goes the same as navigation system. You pay for the system and are granted free updates for a period of time (most of the time 2 years). If you want updates afterwards you have to pay either for a new system or for access to the database. It’s not because you didn’t pay for three years that thins were free though I think the marketing was good because you believed it. If you buy HoT you are paying for the exclusive content of the expansion as well as for what will be implemented until next expac.
Then they probably should call HoT what it is. A season pass.
Anet probably has all HoT dialog recorded. In worst case we will have few half mute season 3 episodes.
whats to be done about non expansion content being bulldozed too kitten fast ?
Nothing. It is old, broken beyond repair and is abandoned for years because no one cares.
https://youtu.be/EcdUMSq_mdU?t=34m53s looks like stealth gyro got some hate from chieftain. Is it his awesome mechanic to agro everything around when you try to stealth or am I missing something?
Or they will go full modern art mode and give us more of this

They said the voice of Jennah would be RETURNING! So she’s in HoT story at some point……..
Jennah is a dragon confirmed. She will whisper to all human characters.
You also have to consider that you can’t freeze, chill, cripple or immobilize bosses anymore. What would be better to keep a boss like archdiviner rooted for a long time than a ranger’s bear?
Rocky
The fact that it’s called a skin gives me some hope that we will be able to dye the different skins like how they added a separate dye section for the outfits.
It also could mean this:

Most 100% rep or 100% content specific rep guilds inform people about their policy before inviting. By joining this guilds while knowing that you dislike or don’t fit their policy you just waste everyone’s time.
@OP well current state of guilds is what you get when developers treat guilds like chat channels with guild missions on weekly cd. There is just no pve content that would naturally force people to play together and work like a team. Hopefully HoT will change that.
Game itself. I need good story, interesting world, or at least an explanation why my eyes fly behind my character to get some sort of immersion.
What if we sylvari players changed too?

Personally, I would like the option to join Mordremoth’s horde, at night time, and aid Mordrem NPC’s in their quests. It would be great fun to aid the computer in vanquishing PvE players. Besides, the Dungeon crowd relentlessly harps on ANet for making PVE too easy… Well then, there is nothing like facing player controlled Mordrem to wipe that Zerker armor off your toon.
Making pve challenging by turning it in to pvp.
Some “emotes” already have space into the program code, it seems. /taunt, for example, is one of them. They don’t return the “unknown command” message. I don’t know why they didn’t implemented.
This emotes are leftovers from gw1 times.

PVE is doomed…oh wait! We already knew that.
Don’t be so dramatic. They will let us know when they will abandon parts of the game.
Devs already said that in HoT you will get armor as a rewards for doing stuff and outfits from the gem store.
I don’t even play much Guardian.
This thread in a nutshell.
For what it’s worth, I’ve never heard someone seriously recommend a racial skill, or recommend rolling a particular race just for that skill. You might occasionally find a situation where a racial skill does something useful (like Avatar of Melandru granting stability,) but it’s not something you really need to plan for.
Just play what you like and I’ll be surprised if you ever regret it. I like racial skills, but they’re more interesting than essential.
Avatar of Melandru also has 20 seconds long immob.
just make a hard mode.
wall + feedback does not reflect but block projectiles, problem solved.
kitten the rest, you can just patch it in later.
“Make” and “Patch” is not something they want to do when dungeons and fractals are involved.

There is a difference between using lack of “spread around” behavior against the mobs and breaking AI completely by teleporting mob underwater.
it would make a lot more sense, but it would make guards the only profession (i can think of) which are good at applying aoe might above a stack or three.
not that that’s strictly a bad thing, curbing might application would be a severe blow to the power creep that’s been happening.
Yeah, that’s my reasoning. Might stacking is a big reason why PvE is all about stacking, plus it trivialises group content and most other effects that apply Might.
2 years of no content trivializes content. Not some boon.
Avatar of Melandru can be very useful in some situations. I would not recommend using it over standard profession elites unless you are an ele though.

Look at the fantastic 25-35 FPS that Black Desert shows here with DX-12 while
riding along in town.
At least you can see why it is dropping frames. In gw2 you can get fps drops and 100% gpu load just by looking at low res wall.
It is actually a lot faster to yolo elemental source rather than trying to pull elementals and do it normal way. At level 50 2 wipes should be enough.
No idea if double freeze is good or bad but in my party defiance is usually down when I finish channeling 4 with second freeze landing instantly when boss tries to move. Kill times with different thief setups are not noticeable enough in normal daily run.
It would just make some fights longer but what benefit does this have on the game?
More challenging content. Less professions left outside of the meta. More diversity of builds. More easy to ballance.
25 stacks represent too much % from damage output. With less might and less dps parties will be stricter with the meta because guess what – while before the 25 might meant you could get decent clear times with most classes nerfing it means you must enforce classes in a stricter way.
People miss same exact thing when they cry for trinity lol.
Just be glad that might isn’t “just another soft CC”. At least with might you can do more direct damage. Try running any CC build and you will quickly see you are sub-par to anything that can stack might.
I would be all for adjusting the acquisition of might so long as CC gets a place in PvE, otherwise why even bother, it only makes the kills take longer IMO.
edit: clarity
There are no CC builds. There are CC skills and utilities which you can pick on any build. CC is already in a good place in PvE even if you ignore icebow.
