Everyone wants to make super servers, now that other people do it

At least you’re admitting it. Why is it JQ is aloud to complain about coverage and recruit huge numbers and then when SoS has doesn’t even have enough people on a server to start the break out events we get called out for mentioning it.

Why can’t we mention it as well? Just because our solid guilds are putting in long hours to fill the gaps suddenly we can’t mention the fact people are getting burnt out.

The reason I find it hilarious is when we said hey SoS – we are out manned every time we fight you. All I heard was it was due to SoS having superior skill and JQ sucks. So pardon me chuckling when you guys are suddenly concerned about numbers. You are the most skilled server after all – since that is what many of you have been implying since you got here. Please use your superior skills and tactics to win – being out manned really shouldn’t affect a server as skilled as you all repeatedly implied.

find me those posts that people said “SoS has superior skill and JQ sucks” please. I’ve been reading these forums for a while now and I haven’t read any posts that say that. Either you’re making things up or reading far to much into other peoples posts.

Outmanned on most maps again, only one day after the reset. This is not good. Whoever thinks SoS have the numbers are lying to themselves or joking. We just have amazing guilds that put in the effort. kudos to them!

something is going on in EB, we had BG attack us and a few SoS said “stay on your side on the map BG” its like we have some odd agreement not to fight each other. WvWvW is interesting when this happens.

We all know JQ will come back from it with their dominate NA coverage during the week, nothing can stop that

i c so BG guilds are basically doing double shifts. Its a shame because right now they are doing well. I like BG peeps, when I /wave at them they /wave back and don’t attack me. Its like some mutual understanding. Happened just moments ago when I was running away from a JQ zerg and I bumped into two BG hiding as well.

I’ll hate to say, but I also reckon the people who joined SOS cos they were number 1 will jump to JQ as soon as they realise there will be a new champ in town… then their will be a noticeable disparity between the top two servers.

I think its mainly randoms that jump to the number 1 server. Guilds make other reasons to shift to try and correct the balance. SoS was very dominate since its arrival into T1 and the one time during the christmas holidays JQ did well. Now the only problem was 8-10 guilds decided to make JQ their home and stacked a already busy server. Its like its the new HoD.

I see a shift in balance with JQ being the server to beat with their new NA coverage.

Weird thing happened this afternoon, break down Bay doors which JQ owned and BG was waiting just behind the entrance and defended it from us. Sooo annoying. It’s hard enough to take a keep from JQ but to go through both servers was painful. enjoy your loot bags.

That was a crazy fight between all 3 servers in Bay on BG BL btw. The final lords room fight was just a bright explosion of … a lot of dead people. Poor bay. It had like no walls, no gates… lol.

what is timezone people are playing atm? Because whatever the timezone SoS needs players to fill it.

seriously what game are you playing? A warrior never hits me for the same amount of damage thieves can. NEVER. unless your talking about killshot which takes seconds to cast, you can see the warrior get on one knee to take the shot. Its pretty easy to avoid.

A warrior is known to have some of the least mobility in the game. They can be easily shutdown and hundred blades is a joke, you can see that coming from a mile away. Stealth you can’t see it coming because the target is invisible and with the fantastic culling bug he’ll get in a few hits before you even can target him.

Here is an example. If you’re going to pick a server to join, which server would you pick when the final score of each server is this:

Server A 200,000
Server B 60,000
Server C 50,000

Now, if these are the scores, who would you pick?

Server A 110,000
Server B 100,000
Server C 90,000

First scenario is server B and C taking points from each other to allow A to build a huge lead. Second scenario is all 3 servers fighting each other with the goal of taking 1st. It ends with all servers having similar scores and the 3rd place server still having a shot at first place heading towards the end of the week.

That’s all very well. During the weekend you were in 2nd place. Now you’re fighting for first and coming 3rd. Next week SoR will probably take your spot so you won’t even be on that list.

I may be completely wrong and you completely right. Lets see how it all unfolds…

Playing for 2nd place this week may actually hurt BG’s chances to recruit since many of the top guilds may see them as a server that gives up easily.

Well you can play for 1st and therefore pit you against two larger teams which eventually puts you in last place due to not having the coverage (unless of course you do think you have the numbers). Or you can play smart (which I would think a lot of new guilds would consider an asset), align yourself, recruit, stay in T1 and eventually see what you can do when you have gained some more pvp guilds.

remember I’m not talking about skill, BG have some top guilds and players, I’m just talking about the overall effectiveness of your strategy.

BG is doing ok in T1, especially considering the quality and size of guilds that have recently aligned with the competition. BG doesn’t play perfect but when you look at all the factors there is very little criticism anyone can seriously muster.

You miss my point. If I knew I was out numbered by two larger forces I would align with one of them then go toe-to-toe with both. I was never criticising actual skill, far from it.

I have been looking at some questionable tactics though. I watched BG help JQ on JQ’s own BL only to get knocked off moments later because you weren’t allowing two invading sides to attack the larger army. Instead you helped JQ kick SoS off the map then without pressure from SoS, JQ just steamrolled over you with greater numbers.

I was thinking “what are they doing? by weakening us they are basically kicking themselves off the map as well… who do they think JQ are going to attack once we are pushed off the map”

I wish they tried to complete it on my server. No one ever goes near it. In fact Cursed Shore, Malchor’s Leap and Straits of Devastation are pretty much dead zones now.

Which after completing the story feels weird. Seems like Zhaitan won in the end.

BG is playing for rating right now, and is doing pretty good with what it has. I won’t presume to guess how familiar you are with Glicko. Suffice it to say BG pushing back and forth to keep the score between servers closer, is better for BG than trying to focus JQ all week and let SoS have another run away lead.

I’m not familiar with the Glicko system at all. All I know is on sunday night you were in 2nd place when you focused JQ throughout the weekend. You stopped doing it and now your 3rd.

But if you have a master plan then I will stop commenting on it now. see you in-game.

Black Gate is in the exact same boat, except you guys also picked up Never Die.

We picked up no one. On top of that SOR picked up the vast majority of what was left of SBI and we are getting squeezed between you guys. If SoR stayed the way it was and actually earned its rise in rating by gaining rating against SBI without the transfers, BG would have stayed in tier 1 for weeks, as it stands we will get pushed to tier 2 this week or next.

As bad as it seems for your first place team, its about 10x worse for us.

You should see the JQ during NA primetime. Its just that we have three massive servers whose numbers are never at their greatest at the same time.

BG you guys are confusing me, you hold absolutely nothing on the JQ BL’s, not a supply camp, keep, nothing… nor do you use siegerazer to get you own keep. Instead you run all the way over to our keep and attack that instead.

Why would you waste you time doing such a thing?

this is all interesting stuff but isn’t the main focus of a staff build is AoE (damage, heals, control). Its probably the least used build compared to the other two and now Anet are going to nerf AoE.

I think people will be hanging up their staves for the D/D build. We are being almost forced to use one build only to remain competitive.

I’m from SoS and I like BG, so don’t think one bad guy represents the entire server. In fact these guys took a lot of abuse from JQ and SBI back in the days, regrouped came back and fight hard. I don’t even like fighting against these guys, I choose to /wave and they /wave back… bunch of nice guys.

wow this post just reeks of arrogance, totally unjustified considering you just transferred back to a dominate server after being kicked out of T1.

JQ has more potential than SoS atm, we on SoS are trying to stop JQ from stomping over everyone at the moment. We barely have enough numbers during NA time to stop them due to all those lovely new guilds they have acquired.

PRX and SF are fighting on the SoS BL’s, with a RG zerg charging around. BG with their limited numbers are welcome to come to SoS BL’s and take the southern keeps and Supply depots off JQ hands.

Unfortunately SoS can’t field a team on every BL. We just have to hold out as long as possible until our larger Oceanic teams arrive.

They really need to re-look into stealth. Watching 10 guys run around trying find a thief that has stealthed is amusing. What do you do? group up for protection in case he pops out again?

Try to interrupt a stealthed thief who is stomping? how? you can’t even target him.

Try to slow him down so he can’t run away? how? he’s stealthed and can simply cleanse effects off him.

Thieves are in a place of their own at the moment. (and maybe D/D elementalists with their healing)

hammer warriors + guardians + D/D elementalists + major buffs + mesmer thrown in for good value.

I’ve seen SF run pretty the same team build (hammer warrior front line) Its lethal for teamfights.

These RG are buff masters, when I first came across these guys trying to attack a keep I targeted one of them and the amount of buffs they had was amazing. They even go and get the blessing of the wolf/raven/leopard etc before a fight. The skale venom potion as well was something I’d never seen before these guys turned up. Now everyone is using them.

there should of been a loot bag somewhere. If not maybe thieves have yet another griefing skill. Wouldn’t surprise me, the way they can escape from any sort of situation is frustrating to say the least.

JQ with their massive influx of guilds is causing all sorts of trouble. Currently on the SoS BL we are down on numbers, no commanders and its RG, PRX and SF.

Once they have finished controlling all the SoS map, they will turn on BG and finish them off.

Hopefully when the Oceanics log in we can fight back a little.

take a break this week, they will move up quickly enough if they control the map like that.

I tend to agree with the OP, perhaps even more detail on where your allies are on the map might help. I know you can see green dots if you are close to them but I would like it if that info was map wide.

atm its probably not a good idea to do this until they lock server transfers and make them paid. because it will give spies too much information.

There are allot of guilds such as EMP , AoS , FIRE , FOO , DC , TTU, AGGR , OES., to name only the few that put hard work into the server here in Jade Quarry as well.

It’s going to be the PRX/RG show now. Until they decide to move on again. Same thing happened in SoS. Its how well you do after they leave which makes all the difference.

The game was pretty “meh”….zerg crashing upon zerg running into portal bomb rushing into zerg taking out siege fighting over supply camps…..wash rinse repeat…..but Teamspeak was a BLAST!!! it’s pretty smart for BG to do this. take JQ out of the picture early and then use JQ later on to attack SoS. Also JQ just received two well known pvp guilds. why wouldn’t SoS and BG try and stop them.

Just want to give props to Agg for fighting us tonight in BG bl, and not bailing out! I was on my way to bed around 4 am when I heard you guys were in there, and decided to give it another hour. Had some of the best fights this week vs. you guys.

Its a real shame we cant fight some more, but hopefully we will end up in the same borderlands tomorrow for some more fights.

I agree with tala on this one. BG came in guns blazing and have NOT been a disappointment. I like BG. They seem like the guys that took a lot of kitten from JQ and SBI but have come back with a vengeance. SoS welcome’s you to T1 again, I hope you stick it out.

Great fight this week, the score is closer than it looks.

People talk about SoS’s great coverage, when I start going into other servers BL’s and NOT seeing the outmanned buff then I will start agreeing with you.

as of right now. outmanned in BG BL and JQ BL, no queues in our BL or EB. we’re so massive.

for the supposed giant of WvW who uses just zerg tactics being outmanned in places that aren’t just EB and our own BL doesn’t quite live up to the reputation.

BG shoud be fighting for second place. Any third place team that is new to a bracket that isn’t clawing and fighting for any success they can get would be foolish. If I played for BG I’d be squeezing the crap out of JQ at all hours because the best way to change the horizon of the T1 landscape is to first take JQ out of the picture. I have no horse in this race, but I do see things shaking up soon.

You can take 2nd place by squeezing PPT out of the leader too, while tightening the score at the same time thus leeching off their rating if you don’t manage 2nd. Win win. Just because a server is in 2nd place doesn’t always make them a softer target.

if you squeeze the leader then all you will get is retaliation from them, while 2nd place tries to create more of a distance between 2nd and 3rd. If BG were smart they would go after JQ while SoS tries to keep JQ from coming 1st. Then BG wouldn’t get doubled teamed and remain very close to 2nd place.

Most europian guilds prefer fighting then just going for points so I doubt you will be getting allot of transfers.

well JQ and BG have a euro presence so if its fighting they want they’ll have it. But they will also have the support of NA and Oceanic guilds so we have 24/hr coverage.

At the moment we lose out when the Oceanics go to sleep and JQ/BG fight it out without much interference from us until the NA guilds log on in the morning.

SoS has won a few matches now in Tier 1 but remember one match was by 3k.

yeah that is something of a concern. We tend to go full steam early in the week until we get a good lead then relax near the end when we feel comfortable. Its like the tortoise and the hare fable. 3k is too close for comfort.
