I’m talking about one man guilds for storage purposes.
With HoT nearly here and all the changes pertaining to guilds and guild halls that will come with that.
Is there anything I need to worry about with my personal guild bank? I wasn’t worried until I read this on Dulfy.

I guess what I am asking, will I be able to access my bank without a guild hall?
And along the same line….is there anything useful do with my influence points that I have before or after HoT?
I’m looking for the best combination of 2 sigils to mainly fight mobs….not a single target.
What I am considering is sigil of fire and sigil of torment.
Since they are both AOE, it seems like it would be perfect for mobs.
What do you think?

I have seen several post saying its too hard… I have no idea.
I’m a casual player, more interested in acquiring things and building my wealth than hard core gamming. Maybe that’s stupid, but that’s what I enjoy.
I fully realize there are many that like difficult battles, and that’s fine if that is what they like. So to each there own.
I will probably buy HoT, but I will be very disappointed if its too hard. If its no worse than ore or even a little harder, I will be fine with that, but if its like fractals….well not so much.
After all the talk about the potion and the Mordrem event. I figured you would see the potion everywhere.
Apparently, everyone was right…it was way too much trouble to get one.
I got my potion the last time it was available. Frankly, after I spent 10 gold and whatever else it cost. I was disappointed.
At the time you couldn’t preview it. After buying it, I thought dam, depending on the light, I you can barely see it.
As time went on, I was glade I bought it only because you rarely see it…..then again, maybe its because it is too dam hard too see….lol.
Talk/whisper to the enemy in world vs world. Don’t get me wrong I understand why you can’t. More often than not, It would end up in a shouting match and probably worse….well most of the time.
Yet I have experienced times that it might actually be friendly.
The obvious one is during a jumping puzzle.
There are other times. I was doing the daily Master of the Ruins. We got there about the same time. We both hesitated. My so called enemy just stood there.
I went first.
He/She let me. After I was done they did it.
After that we both waved and went on our merry way.
Now I know this is not how its suppose to work…we are are enemies
Yet it made my day. Criticize me if you want, I enjoyed it.
I know there have been other reports of similar problems.
This has happened to me 3 times in the past week. I would be carrying on a conversation via whisper, after about 10 minutes I get this………..

My internet connection is fine and I can play the game, just can’t whisper. If I try, I just get the same error.

I’m talking about skill activation in meta events….most other times its fine
But in meta events, I am sick and tired of dealing with that. Will that ever be fixed.
I’ll grant you its not crucial, buts its not how the game should be….very frustrating.
I really have no problem with buffs or nerfs. If the stealth things do exits, I just wish they would tell us.
Maybe stealth nerfs/buffs don’t exist….but people sure think they do.
Oh well, I won’t slit my wrist over it either way….:)

I have read many times about stealth nerfs, but as far as I know , no one can prove it. Its just anecdotal evidence.
However I believe they exist.
Again this is just anecdotal on my part, but it sure seems you get fewer rares from world events.

I’ve been around long enough to know the price fluctuates. Its been relatively high for awhile, but now the price seems to be dropping.

We are talking sigils. Say you are wielding 2 axes. Does the off hand axe sigil activate if you are only using auto attack…or the first three skills. Do you only get the benefit of the sigil on the off hand axe, if use the last 2 skills?

Let me be clear, I’m no expert when it comes to creating a optimum build.
What I’m trying to say though, this update took my old build and made it better.
This only applies to my ranger, not sure about my other toons yet.
I knew they were coming. So on the day they went on sale….I logged in and Black Lion was bugged. It wouldn’t load. I did not have the time or opportunity to try later.
This not a major thing for me. Probably just saved me some money.
If ANet Is gonna do something like this, (24 hours ) why don’t they just send you mail, and upon receipt, you then have 24 hours to buy.
Am I right or wrong. If you put them on your friends list, and they put you on there friends list. They will be on your friends list regardless to what you said the hovering thing

I guess what I am saying, I don’t understand how someone can be on your friends list if they don’t wont to.

This advice would only be for general PVE.
You sound a little like me……well except for the PvP part.
I don’t like working at the game…..yes I’m lazy.
I like to collect things, acquire wealth and various goals……I’m not into being the best fighter. I guess you could say, I don’t enjoy sitting on the edge of my seat pushing all the right buttons at just the right time.
Try a ranger. Your pet will take up much of the damage as well inflict damage.
Its easy. Just keep in mind not to join a group who is doing fractals or dungeons.
I suppose if you really get good , that will be fine. But if your like me and not that good, you will only kitten them off…..lol.
I know where I belong so I do just fine with my ranger…..:).
As far as names go, I don’t understand how it works.
For a example. When you add someone, is that name permeate, or can it change. It sure seems to.
Obviously, people have different toons and thus different names.
When you add a name, is that the name you see? or can it be different.
And if so, how do you identifie it with who you met?

I really wish and someone from ArenaNet would simply give us clear information as to how this will work, or simply say we are still working on this.
If they are still working on it and a suspect there are. They should reassure us that the information will come out in plenty of time for us to make informed decisions as to what we should do with these items.

I miss my hero’s as well.
But I think I miss pre the most.
I had 2 perma pre guys. It was almost a game within a game. A very different atmosphere. Easy going, lots of chat, with very different goals.
A lot of good tips here.
One thing to always keep in mind……high temperatures are maybe the most common cause of component failure.
Most people have plenty of fans. What you want is a positive air flow that is filtered. If its not filtered, you are just blowing in air along with dust that will accumulate on everything.
You don’t even need an exhaust fan. Just blow in plenty of filtered air and it will keep everything cool and clean. The positive air flow will also keep all the nooks and crannies free from dust because it will blow it out, not in.
Your computer will last at least one year longer

I hate it when someone whisper’s me and I can’t remember as to what context we met, what we did, or whatever. It’s embarrassing.
If we could have just enough room to say we met here, did this, friendly, or whatever. In other words, something to jog our memory.

Before you say it is account bound, your right. The thing is unless its in your inventory, you can’t use it. Only one toon at a time.

I have my own guild mainly for storage and my own personal guild emblem.
Frankly, I’m surprised more people don’t display there guild emblem whether its there own, or a guild with many members.
I’m not sure how cost effective it is to create a one person guild for storage …. at this time 250 slots if you care to spend the influence points. ( bought or earned )
With the expansion coming. I wonder if there will be other benefits to have a one person guild.

I’ve done some experimenting and I think I prefer the Privateer, yet the Ogre sells for a gold or so while the Privateer sells for a few silver.
I’m curious as to what others think and why.
I think there are far more people like me than most realize. We don’t have nimble fingers and there are all kinds of reasons for that.
I get kittened when some one says, you just need to practice. If it were that simple, I would be a pro by now.

I got this doing the Karka queen.
It was account bound….why is this?
Sure I can take the time to kill whatever, but I don’t see the logic of why I should have to do that just to harvest something.
Again its no big deal. Its just seems like a silly thing that you have to do.

You have mithril harvesting axe equipped
Instead of a cypress tree, you see a ancient sapling….you’re being attacked so you can not change gathering tool that will harvest ancient sapling.
This is a minor complaint…but what’s the point?

This has happens to me about half the time. We kill the champion. I get a very brief graphic saying there is loot, but before I can claim it, it disappears.
Is this my imagination, or have others experienced this as well?
I confess, I’m a statistic junky.
I have the max kills achievement with a greatsword, axe and short bow.
I have the fewest kills with a focus and a shield.
I’m curious, is this the norm for most people?
What weapon has killed the most and the least?
I understand a shield or focus isn’t designed for killing, so what weapon is the killing king.?

Before the mega server thing. Rarely did someone ask to be in group.
Now its common……and so its got me to wondering.
My question…….is there or not a advantage to being in a group.
I’ve looked around many times and there doesn’t seem to be a clear answer to this.
Some say if in a group and you only get one or no tags. A group will make up for that.
Maybe my memory fails me, but I could swear in the beginning wiki said being in group gives you better drops….or at least the chance of them.
Can someone settle this once and for all.
On a side note and a suggestion. I think it would be better that groups get better drops. It promotes what Anet wants….group participation.
When doing pre Elemental, sometimes I turn into a rabbit….What’s up, with that?

Overall, rare or exotic armor is better. At least it would seem so.
I like to experiment with various armor attributes, clerics, solder, berserker or whatever.
When I do this, I use masterwork ( green & cheap ) to see how it works.
I can’t tell you the times when using masterworks armor seems to work well, but when I upgrade it to exotic, not as well I as expected.
Granted DPS will always be better with higher lvl gear. The thing is, and this is mainly going up against champions in a group/zerg. Maybe its just my imagination, but I seem to take far fewer hits with my green gear as opposed to exotic gear.
So my question is……are you less likely to be targeted when equipped with sub par gear?
I don’t know it this can be a real advantage, but it might be in some situations.

Well when your a regen warrior, that’s what you want. Use your dual axes and kick there kitten .
Look, I know this is not an optimum build.
But if you like trying different things, this is one you should try……not in dungeons.
Well I would agree fractals would not be the place to use it. When I say PVE, I mean just roaming the open world, not dugeons
Does anyone use it?…. I’m guessing not, after all its very cheap to buy. That’s always a good indicator to its worth.
I have been experimenting with a warrior regen build. While its hard to die with that build, DPS is poor.
I started looking through all the superior runes that would give me more DPS. This one was cheap so I thought I would try it.
I have to say, it worked better than I thought it would. Make no mistake, DPS is still at best average, but its nice combination of survivability and damage.
I’m not saying its the best, but for PVE at least, its not bad.
That tropical bird is almost as good as a rangers pet and is up almost constantly. Add the shout “Yarr” and you even help your allies.
I guess I’m just curious if anyone else has used/experimented with Privateer.

Now that I look at it again… there are no options for just roaming PVE.
Such as skill points, vistas, heart quest, and points of interest.
That’s a shame, I’m sure I’m not the only one who would like to help others with these goals.
I’m not that good, but these kind of things I can help with.
I’ve tried to use this but it doesn’t work in a way that I expected.
How do you use it if you just want to join others that just want to roam in PVE, or possibly do a personal story? No dungeons….just roaming and maybe some small talk along the way.
In other words, just some very casual play.
This is obviously a great guide for new players.
I think it might have even more value as a resource to what this game is really like.
It gives you a feel of the mechanics and flavor of the game.
Valuable information for someone thinking about purchasing this game.

I want to be absolutely sure about this before I try it since I have so much to loose if I’m wrong.
This has to do with transferring and questing.
I have a one man guild that I use for storage. I have read if you transfer to another server that I would loose all guild storage ( and everything in it ) as well as upgrades. I pretty sure this is correct.
Having said that. I just want to be sure that if I were to just quest on another server, that my guild and its storage will be safe. I believe it will be, but I have too much to loose if I were to be wrong.
