Support for more bank tabs

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tom.6478

One thing for sure. Whether its bank tabs or bag slots, there is a high demand for both.

Unless there is some technical reason for not doing it, Anet is missing out on a cash cow.

For the people who keep saying you just need to use inventory management better. Sure, I could free up 90% of my storage space and still play the game effectively.

I play games for enjoyment, not for being efficient or responsible. Remember this is a game, not real life. If I want to store 1000 things ( and I do ) that may not help me in anyway, then that’s want I want to do.

If the inventory management people enjoy that kind of thing, good for you, but don’t tell me what I should enjoy. To each his own.

Peace….

I understand that it can be how you use them, but for overall PVE roaming…. not fractals or raids.

If you look on TP, you get an idea as to what is best. However, some are just hard to get and do not really say how useful they are.

Right now, I have Torment and fire.

[Suggestion] Exciting and unique loot

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tom.6478

Tom.6478

I agree with OP. Getting loot has become unrewarding….same old stuff for the most part.

I know this won’t happen, but why not make it possible that anything in the game might drop on any given kill.

Obviously, many things would have to have a very low drop rate, even as low or even lower than precursors. I get you don’t want to mess up the economy or even Gem store sales. It would just be nice to know its possible.

There are many things that could be added to drops that wouldn’t change anything. Like rare dyes, food buffs, maybe even mini pets. Again make the item drop rate appropriate.

The point is, we need more variety so its at least worth the time to see what you got.

Looks like there is no real consensus either way. I’ll probably wait and see. I would hate myself if I paid 600 gold for something I could get for free 2 months later.

Do you think the new permafrost dye will be one of the choices in the usual dye pack that we have been getting at the anniversary.

There is some talk on Dulfy that it will.

I would really like to have that dye. Right now its selling for 500 to 600 gold. At that price, I could wait a couple of months for the anniversary if this is going to happen.

Any thoughts…..will this happen?

I kind of have mixed feelings on this. I thought when I spent big bucks on celestial, that would be the ultimate in white.

However, this is so much whiter…….is that a word……I just may spend whatever is necessary to get it.

I don’t care about a lot of things, but I do like the the whitest, blackest, goldest, shiniest or whatever. Call me vain, but that’s what I like.

Thanks for the info….not quite as bad as I thought, but still too much for me.

I wonder if they thought this threw. Obviously, they were trying for more participation.

If I can only get to perhaps the silver chest at my level of willingness to play, the rewards are just not there.

I will go back to my normal routine. Sure I will get a little bit more loot, but nothing special.

I have to be honest, even if there were no reset, I would probably stick with my 30 to 40 mins a day doing my dailies. It would just be more rewarding eventually if there were no reset.

So having said that….in the long run, does this increase the interest in playing W vs W? I’m guessing it won’t.

Wow, you guys are right. It just reset and I’m back to the wood chest.

I’ll never make it to the diamond chest. Just roughly guessing, you would have to play 4 or 5 hours everyday to get there in a week. Too much for me.

I can only speak for myself, but looks like I will go back to only playing W vs W for the dailies.

I think all the new casuals will quickly realize not that much has changed as far as rewards, and the new interest will die out quickly…..not to mention the 2000 lvl requirement for the new armor…

In other words, if you were not a fan before, this new pip system won’t change much.

I’m not complaining, just my observation.

Does it work like the reward track? With the reward track, there is no hurry ( well unless its a timed one ) Take your time and eventually you will get it.

Do the pip chest get reset after a period of time? For instance I’m on the bronze chest. Do I need to hurry to get to the diamond chest or whatever, or can I take my time?

My post may be slightly off topic, but from the title it is not.

I will never be the best and I don’t even try to be. I play mmo’s to have fun interaction with other people.

I get some enjoy playing at a high level to achieve this or that. That’s good for them, but that’s not my goal.

All I look for is some genuine comradre whether we fail or not.

One of my fondest memories was early on when the game began. I hooked up with 4 other people in W vs W. None of us knew what we were doing.

We decided to try to take a tower. Well one person threw down a battering ram. Not at a gate, but just a wall. Not just that, but it was pointed the wrong way.

I can’t recall all that was said, but it was maybe the funniest and fun times I ever had playing a MMO.

I guess the point I’m trying to make, I would rather have an encounter like that than to get some rare drop or achieve some other status thing.

I was gonna buy this and would have been very happy to do so.

Luckily, I realized the dyeing part was only for the glider. WTH…..why is that?

Its a beautiful skin, but if you can only dye the glider part, and not the back pack part…..again why? You only glide for a small percentage of the time. I want wings that I can dye and see it when I’m just standing there.

If its some kind of technical thing, then OK. But its too bad that can’t be overcome, I would pay good money for dye able back piece wings.

Suggestion : Heroes system

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tom.6478

Tom.6478

I would love to have hero’s.

When GW1 implemented hero’s, that was my favorite time. So much was opened up to me without having to find a friendly group. Things like The Fissure of Woe were suddenly doable with no group finding….. Go there anytime you want.

But that is only a small part of the enjoyment. Getting the Hero’s, equipping the hero’s, and adjusting their build as well as what ones to use……all that was fun and interesting.

I refined my hero’s so well, I would rent them out. ( I didn’t charge a fee, just did it for fun ) I would invite someone, go to wherever, then I would leave, leaving my invite with my tricked out hero’s.

I love those times.

Having said that, I’m not sure it would be practical, or even doable with GW2. I would love to see it, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.

How the heck is that done? Do you have to be a certain profession, or have a certain skill?

To Op, I do feel your pain, but to say its the worst ever is going overboard.

Being successful or not in any content can be depend on all kind of things. I’m not talking about gaming skills, but profesion, build, weapons.

I’m a terrible gamer. Heck I don’t dodge, I use my mouse to activate skills, yet I beat this without dying.

I have to be honest, my build and profession was probably a lucky choice for this. I did go down a few times, but I either healed myself or my pet did it. Yes I ’m a ranger.

A druid to be exact. I use a staff. I attack from a distance and keep my pet healthy.

To be honest, it was one of my easier end story fights.

A Thank You to the Commanders.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tom.6478

Tom.6478

I want to make 2 comments.

Overall I would also like to thank them. I admit, when this became a thing, I worried that most would be people who used gold just to have prestige.

There may be a few people who did that. However I find most to be competent and helpful. Sure there are varying degrees of that, but I could count on one hand the times I thought they was bad enough that I decided to leave.

I’m guessing the people that bought the tag, but did not deserve it, competence wise or helpful wise, quickly learned people won’t follow them.

The second thing I wanted to comment on is of a more humorous thing.

I have heard rumors of a video where a commander led his entire zerg off a cliff that was a little too high, just like lemmings, to there death.

I tried to find it, but couldn’t. Maybe its an urban legend. Either way, I would have found it hilarious if I was in that group.

If that indeed did happen, I could only imagine the comments from the aftermath.

I have not read this whole tread, so please for give me if I make a similar post.

I’m a introvert, but for the most part, I love the game. I’m below average when it comes to game skills, but above average when it comes to equipment….I have full ascended stuff.

I will not join groups that need skilled players. I am not skilled, so I understand why they may not want me…..and I am fine with that.

Maybe the point I want to make. Choose your groups/or individual carefully.

I have had wonderful experiences with perfect strangers, on the other hand, just the opposite.

For us introverts, you just never know.

If someone seems friendly, give them a shot. You may make new friend. If it doesn’t work out, don’t worry about it.

Don’t give up….there are people out there that are worth meeting.

Tom.6478

I wanted to add to my post…

Overall, I think Anet has done a good job. However this is my biggest pet peeve.

They have to see threads like this of all strips. Its clear that there is many opinions one way or another. Often people say this or that as to why this or that should be done without knowing the real reason….me included.

I just wish they would chime in and give us the reason why. Letting people argue about something they may know nothing about is not helpful.

If there is a reason not to have more storage space, just tell us. You might be surprised how many of us would simply say, ok, now I understand.

Keeping silent in a thread like this is just stupid ( even if you have to say it more than once if there’s multiple threads )….Sorry but I got to say that.

One thing to keep in mind. We don’t actually need a 40 slot bag, just more bag slots. I would have to think that could be done with almost no effort.

It has been brought up that might cause servers to be overloaded. I that’s the reason, then fine. If not…..then do it…….

This would be a good time for Anet to make a comment….is that problem or not.

Come on Anet, make some money off us hoarders.

I’ve been with Fort Aspenwood ( close to to top ) from the beginning, so that’s all I know.

What is it like playing for a low tier server? Are there fewer players, are things easier, or maybe harder?

Keep in mind, I’m not a hard core W vs W. I mainly go there for the easier dailies, and for the reward track loot.

I have to say that I have no problem getting dailies with Fort Aspenwood, but I have always been curious as to what it would be like playing for a low tier server.

I’ve said this before, but if you think or want more inventory space, then that’s exactly what you need.

I get sick and tired of some that say just manage your inventory better. Sure I could get rid of all kinds of stuff and have plenty of room. That’s not the point.

There are literally 100’s of things that may not be necessary to carry around, but on the other hand, can be fun if not advantageous to have.

What if Anet made a pve poll

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tom.6478

Tom.6478

I didn’t vote in the poll, but the closest one would be the 4th forget all that.

One thing I would like to see, is more scavenger hunt type things. Where you have to go to many places and do many things to get say get a new weapon skin or really anything that might be unique.

The Caladbolg thing is a good example. Everyone seemed to like it.

Another thing that could be done. PVE meta events such as the Maw, Elemental and such, introduce a new weapon that is a rare drop.

How bout, having a achievement for doing a specific event on every map.

Most people love working towards a specific goal. I’m not talking about something really hard thing to do, just something that takes time and effort to achieve something. Something that anyone can do.

These are only a few suggestions, I’m sure there many more things that could be added without some kind of huge rework. Use your imagination.

You don’t need new maps, new stories, just new goals that even average people can work on.

Come on Anet, how hard can that be.

Two questions!

Update on Hearts and Minds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tom.6478

Tom.6478

A few thoughts on this from a very mediocre player.

Mind you I’m not all thumbs. I have completed all my living world and personal stories up to this one without help.

Thankfully, a very helpful and talented person got me through this ( thanks again, you know who you are )

I tried it solo many times. I never even got to the part where it is bugged. I’m sure I could have reached the Mordremoth part if I didn’t loose all progress when/or if I died in the first 2 parts. I absolutely hate the health reset.

In my mind at least, when you are soloing, lets us keep the the damage already done. You might have to fight even after your are naked, but eventually, you will get it.

Ok lets forget about mediocre players such as myself.

Many people complain about the penalty box and this would only apply to groups.

A very simple solution would be like hockey. Make it a timed thing. First death, maybe 1 minute, second death, 2 minutes…..or something like that.

When the very helpful person took me through this and after I died, other than his/her health bar, I got to see nothing. I couldn’t even learn from him.

Penalty box as is a bad idea….fix it.
