I would run too with a hair like that.
And the servers who don’t have the buff have a sort of advantage of not having this dilemma, evening it out (even if a tiny) bit.
Agreed. Just give my warrior stealth then.
There is something I cannot explain ==> Some higher order is manipulating the world
sounds logical.
I’m sure there is a name for this kind of stuff too… Beginning with R… Can’t put my finger on in…
You actually get 100% more dragonite than you did last month….
You need to go back to school
The lag is present even when ur not in a zerg, but when theres a zerg nearby (5000-10000 range). I was figthing 2 players yday at such range to zerg, and it was horrible.
I wonder, if I turn on culling (or off or w/e), will the lag be gone then?
No, because the culling is off server side and you can only affect your own client, which I presume is already powerful enough to run the game.
Not gonna happen. As true naturalists we only chop down saplings and let the grown up trees alone.
Too late for me, but if you make it earlier some day I’m definitely in
It ‘s more “legendary” then just getting things you get elsewhere in a shorter timeframe withouth any efforts. Not sure if you’re talking about other games but we all know that in games nothing is really “legendary” or “unique” but it ‘s really different if you’re able to affort something via living trought that specialy hard content for yourself or just buying it of the TP and/or mindlessly grinding a few champs for weeks.
I mean that the real reward for a tough encounter should be the feeling of accomplishment – “I did it, WE did it!” – because that’s REAL. The shiny bit of imaginary loot is not. Of course, for some people it’s more important to be able to show off your accomplishment to others. Myself, it’s enough to know that I beat that hard content. I’ve got nothing to prove to a bunch of strangers in a videogame
I queued for almost an hour last night (Piken Square) and then the queue finally popped in middle of Tequatl fight. FML.
Will try again tonight. Both of them.
I predict we contact support and they say: I took a look at the Game Advisor report you provided and it appears your connection may be suffering from packet loss.
Every single patch the lag in WvW gets worse, when will Anet wake up and see that their best feature is ‘The Ginger Kid’.
I love their customer support always blaming the client about a problem that has been a known one for several months now.
Man elbegast must be absolutely furious about yesteday’s patch. LFG tool, Tequatl and Bloodlust! Mucho solo contento!
Lmao for reward like this Anet can do it themselves from now on, i’ll pass on tequila.
this is why why can never have nice things, seriously.
Indeed. People don’t play for the challenge anymore. It’s all about the shiny effortless l00t
It ‘s different to when you put in so much effort and don’t get a reward thats even near worth it isnt it ? 1g, a chance at recycled skins and a mini? Those skins here a real shame for them for such a great and challenging encounter. People do “raids” in other games to fight epic battles and get rewarded with legendary loot. Make him drop materials required to craft a precursor and I’m sure more people will do him. And dont forget to make it soulbound. Sight, they should have done that from the start and not let anyone be able to get a legendary / percursor by buying them off the AH.
You do realize that the stuff they get from the raids is just a gimmick gate for the next raid? What’s legendary about that?
Games are too easy -> people complain that all it takes is to go afk autoattacking
Something that requiers a bit of effort appears -> people complain that it is too hardgeez.
A bit of effort? Only the best PVE server has killed him, and then couldn’t replicate it. People complain that he’s too hard because according to the data we have, he is too hard!
And the fact is after maybe 16 hours after the launch of the event, the data you’ve got is worth absolutely jack sh…
So at the end of the day I guess we’re just looking at it wrong? The challenge comes from organizing 100+ people. Right? Right. So playing the game is just secondary.
This is an MMO. Organizing people is as much, if not more “playing the game” as mashing buttonz.
So you guys are complaining that you’re fighting people instead of walls? Well i guess no one can please you
This. P much.
Then don’t die in the middle of nowhere with no one to ress you?
WvW is already a mindless zergball being able to reach every part of the map in a couple of minutes tops. The LAST thing it needs is more mobility so everyone can just be everywhere instantly. That would remove the last bit of strategy left in WvW.
In fact, the maps should be three times the size they are now and all waypoints except your home base should be removed. That would require troops to spread out to be able to capture/defend objectives effectively. It would also add a real sense of danger when roaming deep in the enemy lines.
But then all impatient people like the OP would quit, so probably not gonna happen.
Banner of Strength is the best choice for those few bosses who are immune to crits.
Guild missions are also completed in the open world, and zergballs regularly fail them too.
Also, it has been 12 hours since the update and you’ve already doomed this as impossible?
Do you give up on everything in your life after the first try?
Had been zerking guild missions for a while now. It’s rare to fail them.
I normally never give up, but tough life has thought me that when you have some time to relax, relax instead of selecting an activity that will infuriate you. Failing Tequatl and yelling on the map chat to try and organize the cannoniers is not relaxing. It’s stressful. And this is that little bit of time that we get free. Even SAB Trib was more relaxing than this if you did it in a two man party, constantly changing who runs in front (that way only one of you dies and both of you can learn the path).
“For a while”, is a keyword here. I’m sure you failed the guild missions plenty of times when they came out.
If you find the new Tequatl stressful, don’t play it? Or at least wait a bit until people start to learn the mechanics.
The thing is to the average open world zerg this is impossible.
Why should everything in the game be doable by the “average open world zerg”?
It shouldn’t be. But content they expect to be completed IN THE OPEN WORLD must be.
If the content isn’t expected to be completed by the “open world zerg,” they need to place it in a guild-only instance, where it isn’t accessible by open-world players.

I’ve tried it 7 times on my server today, all the same result btw.
Try harder, get organized.
Or hey, just give up and whine on the forums. Your choice, really.
Last time I checked having a reasonable, intelligent argument isn’t whining.
Coming to complain about an event being too hard after 12 hours it has been released is not reasonable. I could also argue about it’s intelligence.
The thing is to the average open world zerg this is impossible.

Once people learn the optimum strategy and standing in a specific location becomes well known, it will be doable by an open world zerg. People died time and time again for the other world bosses until a bunch of people figured out standing in a certain location removed all danger and you could AFK the fight. Tequatl is still a little harder than that (and to a lesser extent so is Jormag) but eventually I suspect the average group will be able to do it.
I also believe this. And if they don’t they will give up and this event will be left to organized groups, such as large guilds. They will announce that they will do Tequatl on whatever time and people will flock to them and listen to their advice.
I sincerely, really hope ANet does not nerf this.
Congratulations

do we all need to reroll berserker warriors?
Berserker warriors rely on crits, which don’t work against Teq.
Ooh. Events that can actually fail.
The HORROR!
I’m really ashamed what the gaming world has become…
Scarlet invasions are failed roughly 95% of the time, as are tonnes of other events.
It only takes one or two people out of a hundred to cause this event to fail.
We all know the reason Scarlet invasions fail. It has to do with the fact that succeeding gives less rewards than farming (and failing).

Agreed. Please do NOT nerf Tequatl. If needed, buff the rewards (for succeeding, failure does and should reward nothing) so people will keep trying.
I’m super excited to see what you will later do with the Shatterer and the Claw of Jormag.
Sorry this year’s Guild patch is already deployed. Next year maybe.
I’m serious, by the way. Colin’s outlook for the rest of 2013 had nothing for guilds.
Well I would offer a solution but last time I checked my payslip it was not from Anet/NCsoft so I am suggesting a work around. If players want to complain here and wait for the solution which is NEVER going to come then god bless them, personally I got better things to do.
So in your opinion we, as paying customers, should just shut up and figure a way around a broken game mechanic, instead of filing a complaint to the only party that can fix the problem and just happens to be the same party we’re giving our money to?
You seem to be sure that they cannot solve this problem. Any sources or are you just a pessimist at nature?
I also wish they would make it a pvp zone so if someone other then a guildie enters you can kill them in 1 shot
And whatever sense would that make?
I opened 3 sets of 10 boxes and each time got two shards, so 3% seems a little pessimistic.
Noob questions time, it’s to do with guesting.
a) how on earth do you do it
b) you talk about finding a server and guesting on it. Do I have to know someone on that server or can I just ‘go to it?’
Select “World Transfer” from bottom left of the character selection screen. Select the realm you want to guest to and click “guest”.
Log into the game and you will log into the guesting server.
When people are saying stacked they mean stacked for wvw purposes, and EB is blob ville anyway, if guys hate SM 3 way blob lag then they can go to a BL instead.
Mind = blown!
Why didn’t I think of this awesome solution?!
…
Wait… the borderlands lag TOO!
I was replying to somebody else not making general statement, mister out of context
Whatever your intent was, your “solution” sucks, as it’s not a solution, but a workaround. What if they want to defend their T3 castle instead of abandoning it to the enemy and going to the borderlands? Shouldn’t they be able to do that without the game becoming unplayable.
Stop offering players workarounds so that ANet can get off the hook and doesn’t need to invest in WvW. It’s practically our duty to lag and crash the servers so they are forced to react in one way or another.
I would really love anet to explain to us all the solutions to skill lag. Is it only the coding or the server hardware too?
Obviously it is both (as they sure aren’t running GW2 on the most powerful supercomputer ever built), but expanding the hardware might be expensive (if their server architechture is easily scalable) or very expensive (if it’s not and they need to flat out get bigger servers).
I’m hoping today’s patch will help the lag a bit. If it does nothing, I believe their only option is to either upgrade their servers or tell the players to screw it.
I can already imagine two of the largest guilds in Tyria fighting over a rare spiritwood chair.
I would advise against selling the exos you discover, because you will need to salvage exos to get the 10 globs of dark matter for the ascended weapon.

Learn to write interesting and well arranged text and people will read your walls.
Remove all reward from WvW altogether, standardize equipment as in sPvP. Make upgrading keeps&stuff require supply only.
Basically, make it sPvP in a grander scale.
Oh and remove all achivement points from both WvW and sPvP.
Then and only then we will get rid of the PvE scrubs running around with the zergs and being absolutely useless.
Well I hope you are not in the gaming development. In your case there would be perhaps 3 wvw servers :/
I would take 3 serious WvW servers over having 20 servers full of people around me that are about as useful in a fight as a stepped-on slug.
WvW is the kitten child of GW2 anyway. If the only reason people play it is to get loot, the design is seriously failed.
I’m willing to be if and when Camelot Unchained is out, GW2 WvW will be dead for good.
Take your underwater legendaries, combine with one more legendary (if you only have two) and mystic forge stone. Cross your fingers. Maybe you will come out with that eternity sword or something!
ROFL that would be the ultimate high stakes gambler. I hope if someone does this he will fraps it
I seriously do not understand how Anet can stuck their fingers in their ears going LALALALALA CAN T HEAR YOU when they MUST see that their servers constantly hit 100% cpu utilisation.
And on top of that they want to start Leagues? This is a disaster waiting to happen.
Lol I can totally imagine that
What kitten es me off the most is that they don’t give us ANY solid information about what they are doing or are going to do (and when) about this problem. All we get is an explanation like “Yeah this happens when a lot of players use a lot of skills in a small space.”
WE KNOW THAT already. Now let us know how and when will you fix this problem!
But yeah, let’s see if today’s patch will help any. The stacking limitations of the conditions and AoE changes to include blocks and evasions into the 5 person limit should already reduce calculations quite a bit.
At least give us an awesome Lag Death animation! Something like a ghostly person sitting at a computer bashing his keyboard to pieces…
Rofl. Thanks for the laugh

The guy who designed the CM explorable basement should be fired.
I guess English is not your first language.
If I understand correctly you are asking if we could have enemies health bar on their nameplates?
But I think we do, don’t we?
Or are you asking if you could see the amount of health the mob has in numbers instead of just a bar?
Weaponsmith from 400-500g will cost you another 196g or there abouts
That’s crazy and not doable for most people.
Unfair is a word that is becoming common in this game.
This sum assumes you buy everything from TP at the crazy prices they are at now. You would be dumb as hell (or filthy rich) to do that. Gather the mats yourself and you’ll save a pretty penny.
I dont know. When the patch came, I had a nice stock of orichalcum ore and ancient wood logs that I refined. Then I crafted superior sharpening stones and orichalcum plated dowels and soon I was at 425. From there I discovered exotics to 450. From there to around 470 I refined the ascended materials and finally discovered ~10 exotics to get to 500. I spent maybe 50g in the materials to level from 470 to 500. Before that I did it with mats I had saved.
But yeah, if you’re a new player looking to raise your crafting from zero to 500 now, good luck.
For that matter, if you do a dungeon run, you’ll be guaranteed more than a gold. Saying people in 2-3 hours can’t make more than a gold a night is simply not right.
Now this I can agree with. 15 minutes run through CoF if you need to make that 1+ gold per day is much more agreeable than doing the invasions, at least in my books. And I hate dungeons, by the way.
