I realize that Arenanet needs to make money, and there are plenty of ways to do that without selling what people really care about for irl money or a ridiculous amount of gold grind.
Plenty of ways? Like what?
Subscription fee?
If you have other great ideas, I’m sure ANet would be thrilled to hear them.
Sorry Goose, but your posts are starting to sound more and more like “I want everything in the game but don’t want to pay anything to play it.” That’s not how MMOs work, so get over it and spend some $$$ if you like the game and would want to play new content in the future, too.
Now if I just could get that permanent merchant, black lion trader, bank access, mystic forge conduit and portable crafting stations I’d never had to go to LA again.
Griffonhook Run if you want to open the chest is the hardest. The annoying griffons will hit you even if you already left them far behind.
I would attribute that the puzzle itself is not hard, it’s just extremely random as the griffons’ attack animation does not always correlate with getting hit. Fix that and the puzzle becomes challening, but very doable.
If special puzzles like the Aetherblade one and the Clocktower are not included, I’d say for me the most difficult jumping puzzle has been the Stepping Stones in Southsun. Well at least before I learned about the stability cheat.
Which server paid for transfers and which guilds took the money?
dude just dont even bother, he hasnt figured it out yet that it was all a troll, to spark PVF. Yes there r guilds that have helped players xfer over, but only after there guild made the choice to come to t1, they helped them so they could stay with the guilds, and wouldnt need to farm for days just to follow there friends.
Most guilds/individuals move on there own and pay there own way
False just accept that it happens and let’s get back on topic shall we??
thx
Engage Super Defense Mode
Usually when someone get’s this rustled about something there lies a whole stinking runny pile of truth in their house.
Give up and move on to topic at hand.
Looks like it’s you who’s turtling up for defense now. I’d also like to see this proof you must have by making such claims.
You USE big WORDS to draw ATTENTION to your SUBJECT and make IT look IMPORTANT, are YOU? Because lolmace WARRIORS in wvw is DEFINITELY big DEAL.
Sorry that the truth hurts you. You clearly are a warrior enjoying stunsmashing enemies. You wouldn’t be so scared, if you didn’t enjoy it alot. I’m not asking for heavy nerfs but 3 aoe stuns on one weapon is to much. They have to give it 40 sec cd or something, so it requires more skill to land it properly and not fail it. Now you can just spam it immediately again after you failed one.
Which of our weapons has 3 AoE stuns? I must be missing a skill or two on my weapons…
Well perhaps they only need to be put in some champ bags, and not all exotic-classed ones (ie. the ones that are farmed), like every 3rd or 4th one opened or something. Anyway there’s an excess, no one can deny, but in my case I don’t believe in just wasting stuff.
I can deny that there is an excess, therefore your argument is false.
Your “solution” would hurt those who don’t want to farm champs.
T1 has no one but themselves to blame for the skill lag there
T1 has themselves to blame? Are you kittening kidding me? WvW favours big blobs.
It’s GAME DESIGN. If it weren’t more powerful people wouldn’t do it.
T1 servers are BUYING and PAYING for guilds to xfer to their server.
Then they complain about skill lag…….
Again T1 servers have no one to blame but themselves.
My server has slowly but steadily climbed up to T1. I never asked to be playing against the blobs.
However, I also think it’s ANets problem. They not only allow such blobbing, but also have designed their WvW so that blobbing is the most effective tactic to win.
You can’t blame the players for playing the game in a way that’s the most effective way to win.
Wanna fix zerging? Triple the landmass of the maps, with triple distance between towers/keeps/camps. Remove all waypoints. Move all rewards from capturing an objective to holding the objective for X amount of time (mailed to you if you are offline when the time is up) after capture. Problem solved.
Just leave it undisplayed and you’re done.
People like collecting stuff, maybe some leftovers from the whole hunter-gatherer society thing of our evolution. MMO’s are about loot, it is what makes people happy, getting those fancy items. You can’t simply take that away because YOU think it’s stupid, I don’t need loot either, but I can fully understand why people need it as a motivation and to have fun.
Introduce full loot PvP and suddenly the game isn’t about loot anymore.
I know, shocking thought, but it worked really great in the past – before those games became about loot, too.
Why would they change their game according to guys who farm champs and invasions 24/7.
Toss it if you don’t need it. It’s just that simple.
I’m sorry? Adjusting the way the game is played for a vast majority of farming players with loot to match, only to have redundant (new ascended) materials left over? Where’s the logic in that? They obviously want you to do stuff with the dust like buy their reagents and invest karma into shards for the refined bricks. Even if there’s only one purpose for the dust right now doesn’t mean there won’t be another down the track, and throwing it all out is just wasteful. Sure right now there’s an excess of it, but imagine recipes where you’ll need 250 bloodstone bricks. Farmer or not, nothing goes to waste when that is needed.
I had no problem when I crafted my ascended weapon. I ended up with 1 extra bloodstone brick and one extra empyreal star.
Then again, I don’t run in a champ train drooling over my keyboard and got tired of the invasion events after 3-4 of them.
Is it possible to level up the craft from 450 to 475 just with bloodstone dust refinement?
Yes.
or about 100 in a day.
Sounds a bit hardcore to me.
No wait, it actually sounds like a total no-life in order to grind VP.
Healthy, much?
This only shows how much attention ANet themselves are paying to their brilliant “Living Story”. A centerpiece of a previous Living Story, currently completely meaningless and forgotten.
I crafted my first ascended on sunday. Now I feel like I’ve completed the game and have no desire to really play it anymore.
Well done, ANet?
The easy way is to forget the bomb and run the puzzle without it. You still get a chest and the achievement. Only thing you will be missing is a couple blues/greens and a sense of pride (albeit without nothing to show for it).
First ascended weapon gotten. Still think the requirements are too much. Still think gear disparity is gonna be a problem in WvW.
You can nearly buy all the things for an ascended wepon if you MUST have it now
Only if you’re far richer than the average 2-3 hour a day player, of course, who considers them lucky to make even 1gp in total a day (minus their costs for transit and repair) even at 80.
Doing a single invasion would net you far more than 1 gold in a day.
Wasting almost an hour of your 2-3 hours a day to a stupid invasion is something not many of us are willing to do.
Why are you bothered about a 1v1 build in WvW? That mace build is useless in zergs, which is what WvW is about.
Yeah I can see how long duration stuns on a ridiculous cd could be completely useless in group fights
This build revolves around getting in the HB after the stun. If in a group fight you can pull that off, the enemy group needs to stop playing PvP.
In a group fight you don’t need to pull off any HB if you can provide that much heavy cc. You can focus on stunning and your group can focus on doing the rest of the job
And why would I use the mace single target stun when I can just use the Hammer AoE stun?
I would like to get real forests, no matter what kind. The current that we have, a small patch of land with a few trees, is hardly a forest at all.
Definitely wrong man, If this isn’t a forest I don’t know what is. Beats most mmo’s woodlands by a landslide.
Have you ever been in a real forest?
Well at least the Transmutation Crystals are priced somewhat reasonably in the gem store…
Much less for a pack of 10 than what most armor/weapon skins go for.
Ok, so why bother grinding the dungeons for the dungoen armour only to go and buy better stats from the trading post or crafted ascended armour (when we get it)
RATHER than buy the dungeon armour SKIN from the vendor and just put the skin on the armour you just bought or crafted?Doing it just for the skin makes sense, Doing it just to destroy another piece FOR the skin is wasteful
Because ANet wants you to buy the transmutation crystals from their gem store.
I’ve spent a lot of stones transmuting exotics to exotics and yesterday my first stone transmuting exotic skin to ascended weapon.

In big zerg fights most defeats come from damage anyway, not stomps.
But I actually like it. Brings a whole new layer of strategy on the field, not only in capturing and holding the bloodlust points, but also protecting your own team members from being stomped.
Maybe we need to get a mercy shot ability for ranged
You can just click on the PvP tab and click “Go to Heart of the Mists”.
EDIT: I just noticed this stone also transports you back to the location you were!
MotherfFFFFUUUUUUUUUuuuu if I’d only known that before…
The ‘go to the heart of the mists’ button changes to ‘leave the heart of the mists’ when there as well doing the same. But loading into the heart of the mists takes forever, while eotn is much quicker.
Mrgmlllblblbl…
I feel so stupid now…
Thanks

My magic 8 balls says “no”.
You can figure out the reason yourself, I’d reckon.
Tab Targeting Improvements
- Now prioritizes Champs/Legendary, then players/clones, then everything else
- Deselecting your target now resets tab selection history (aka, you’ll start tabbing through from the beginning if you deselect)
- Can now tab target if your character can see the target (Was dependent on camera before)
Better fast cast ground targeting:
We split this into 3 different options; so that players can more easily cater how ground targeting works for them.
- Double tap to cast
- Press the button to cast
- Release the button to cast
SO GET YO CAST ON!
Love these changes.
Now that the last obstacles for a proper controller support have been solved, howaboutit?
They are also account bound, just toss one in your bank and delete the rest.
Very true. Personally I use it as a break room, whenever I need to answer phone/door/visit lil mercury’s room, I quickly double click (only out of combat) and do what I have to do.
So all my characters have one.
You can just click on the PvP tab and click “Go to Heart of the Mists”.

MotherfFFFFUUUUUUUUUuuuu if I’d only known that before…
Queen’s chest got buffed.
and I don’t mean crab boobs, I mean it now guarantees 3 exo backpacks, and in most drops I’ve also noticed a free Exotic Settler’s Inscription which is a cheap and efficient way to slowly keep raising your Crafting XP above 460…
Dunno if you’ve been watching the TP, but completed exo Inscriptions are selling for 2x the price of completed Exotic weapons simply b/c everyone is in such a hurry to level crafting to 500 (it’s actually something I had been campaigning for since last year because it was also one of the primary salvage components in Gw1)
I wish they were completed. They still require 5 ectos on top of the weapon parts…
It does make seeing her windups a tad bit harder than necessary…
I wish… I cracked open 2½ stacks of champ boxes yesterday and had 6,700 piles of bloodstone dust left over. That’s enough stacks for almost 1½ 20-slot boxes.
I’m just hoping there’s something more to ANet’s grand plans for ascended materials than hoarding bank space or making us use a heap of obby shards and buying a boatload of thermocatalytic reagents (TCR’s) for us to make bricks out of.
I do know a heap of people who just threw their dust out because they had nowhere to put it, and no use for it at all.
Why would they change their game according to guys who farm champs and invasions 24/7.

Don’t bring Southsun as an example of a new zone. Compared to any other “proper” zone in the world, Southsun is empty and boring as kitten.
Labyrinthine Cliffs? Lol… just lol.
Given the quality of the current living story we have had so far in the first year, I really hope not.
I mean, instead of an expansion with a new race/profession, several new large zones and continuing Personal storyline we have got… what? Two small and/or uninteresting zones, two dungeons with just one mode, a random bunch of fractals, a bunch of minigames, guild missions and some other stuff that isn’t really worth mentioning because well, they aren’t there anymore.
With this pace, we will MAYBE have one expansion’s worth of new content in maybe 2 years from now. Maybe, because so far they have not shown us anything that could be worth an expansion, such as large zones, new professions or races.
If the next year will be similar in content to the first, with no proper expansion and/or expansion worthy content announced, this game will go on life support before it even got really started.
Sorry for the doom & gloom, but ANet seriously needs to up their game regarding their “content patches”. The current ones we get just won’t cut it in the long run.
If anet wants more people in pvp they should make an arena that will support up to atleast 20v20. 30v30 would be better
Too bad their game and servers start to break down when 20v20 or bigger is involved. I’m running an i7-3770k@4.4Ghz and a GTX780 and I still have to drop down my culling settings to High/Low to get any kind of playable framerate (30+) in big zerg fights.
This is actually with the CPU going 100% all the time and GPU chilling at about 50%.
So yesterday we finally managed to stop the blob in AR BL at the lord of one of our tower…
Vizu was so surprised of this failure that they decided to switch map to grab some supply.
They came back with this…. THINGThe usual Vizu blob with a blob of omega…
How quaint…
So we are just supposed to abandon our T3 keeps and garrisons and spread out? Just because ANets servers cannot handle their game?
Yeah GG.
We can also stop playing the game. That will also solve the skill lag.
You all are missing the fact that the gem store is the only place to reliable get those Transmutation Crystals.
That fact wasnt missed.
What was missed by the op was the fact that dungeon armor is actually used as armor.
Well with the ascended tier coming, it’s only a matter of time before it will only be used as a skin, albeit that time might be long(ish).
In any case, it’s unlikely that these will be turned into skins, since the transmutation crystals are probably one of the most purchased items in the gem store and ANet don’t want to change that.
Not going to happen. Gem store.
I would like to get real forests, no matter what kind. The current that we have, a small patch of land with a few trees, is hardly a forest at all.
You all are missing the fact that the gem store is the only place to reliable get those Transmutation Crystals.
It’s not called cash shop it’s the gem store. There is so much gold floating around right now there is no excuse not to change gold into gems and get the skins like everyone else.
This thought process is why people have left for the long term. Farming gold to get the content they are putting out isn’t fun and there are plenty more MMO’s that I could go to with more content. I happen to like this game for what it is and I want to see it progress as a game, I don’t want to see it turn into Guild Wars 1.
But yeah…. don’t be surprised if there’s not one single new set of Dungeon or WvW earned Armor/style. …atleast not for a long time. Get a second job :p …b/c there’s no point in putting 20+ hours into “working” in this game for a $7 dollar suit you could earn pushing shopping carts for 1 hour
Not sure if you were serious when you wrote this but if you just told me that I should have to work harder irl to get cash shop items in a video game then you are beyond help. Not everyone feels like their irl money is worth armor in a game. I purchased this game for 60 dollars and so did millions of people, that is alot of money that they could have spent making new content for this game with a cash shop on the side. I’m not pretending to know how much it costs to make armor, but I really doubt that with all the mediocre events they have been putting out (some have been good) they couldn’t have put worthwhile content like dungeons in the game instead.
So you think the cash shop should only have “silly” stuff in it that few people would actually want to get?
Do you realize that the cash shop is their only income for the game currently, not counting the few boxes they will still sell?
Do you realize the 60$ you paid for the box was already spent when the game was released? Or did you think the developers worked for free for 5+ years to create the game?
The cash shop still doesn’t “sell power”. The fact that it does sell convenience items and fancy cosmetic pieces is the right way to go. If it doesn’t offer anything worth getting, the game is going to die. I hope you do realize at least that much.
Well axe is the PvE weapon already. Wouldn’t mind it becoming more useful as PvP weapon, but consider that we have a few weapons already that are completely useless outside PvP.
Axe offhand inst even a pve weapon..If anything its “look at my cool animations”
Cyclone is used to stack vul but thats about it
Throw axe in pve? Im not sure if i have seen anyone doing that.
You’re right about those, but your suggestions were completely over the top and aimed to change another weapon in the warrior’s arsenal useful only in PvP.
The OP’s suggestions were pretty nice, though.
Well axe is the PvE weapon already. Wouldn’t mind it becoming more useful as PvP weapon, but consider that we have a few weapons already that are completely useless outside PvP.
I’d rather make a big huge instance map for this one (perhaps even reusing parts of some of the great open world maps we have now) and leave the normal WvW out of it. Other than that, I love the idea.
After you have completed the hearts you get nothing for turning them in anyway.
That said, they should all be vendorable for some meager amount.
It’s Scarlets new hideout where you get to fight robot clowns wearing cheerleader outfits that come in packs of 5 champions every minute.
Don’t give them any ideas, kitten it!
I could live with that, even if I don’t really play my engi.
You can also now use it for retreating.
Level to about 60 and then start doing the personal story. You can pretty much go non-stop from there to the end.
The difference is that there is practically an unlimited amount of silk scraps for 8c on the TP, whereas if you start stocking gossamer the price climbs up rapidly.
Second, if you want to use the recipe, you generally use bolts, not scraps, to cut down the cost of dust per forging.
Average amount of T6 mat you get from the forge is 17, btw.
If you can get a ton of gossamer at 4s right now, go ahead and buy it. The price will go up, there is no doubt.
