Except one.
There is one dwarf alive that you meet during the norn warrior personal story.
Other than that, they’re pretty much dead. Would have to be a big tribe to explain that the world is suddenly full of dwarves again.
- The price in the lower right hand corner of an item’s tool tip is what a VENDOR will pay you for it. Not the suggested price at the Trading Post (yes I’ve seen this a lot on my server). Excessively low listings like these are losing the seller a lot of money and under cutting everyone else so far it isn’t worth them using the TP.
Tradepost is global, so it’s not just “your server”.
Useless skill other than fun purposes. Can’t even jump while transformed.
Because the chantry is it’s own map (instance).
Buy materials for Mystic Forge. The vendor is standing right next to it.
Plants actually do the “inverse” of human breathing, in that they take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. If they didn’t, life on earth would have to be arranged in quite a different way.
I wasn’t aware GW2 ended already…
Just skins. Would be pretty stupid to sell full exotic sets for gems, now wouldn’t it?
What Zelden said.
As a Warrior you actually have pretty decent ranged options too.
You forgot to mention the cost of the boosters in your OP… each boost costs 150-200gems… so at the MINIMUM you are getting an item worth 150 gems, not including the tonic and 3rd item.
The boosts are extremely useful for getting SP’s and karma. Or a speed boost or armor boost or damage boost, etc…
Read my post above. I’d say very few people buy the boosters directly from the store…
hmm, anyone cares to mention the price of all the “boosters” plz ?
you all seem to forget that boosters are costing a lot when piled …
I’d like to see some statistics how many of these boosters are actually bought directly from the gem store… Yeah.
I think it would be pretty cold to stand there sewing a new pair of socks while your mates are getting their heads bashed in.
Hardly consider character slots Pay to win.
When there’s 8 Classes, it is. If there were only 5 Classes it would be fine
You’re missing the point. How do you “win” by having more characters? You can’t play more than one at a time anyway.
Pay to win means you will gain an inherent advantage (in PvE or PvP) that cannot be obtained without spending real money.
Most games don’t have quivers unfortunately. I wish more would have them though. It bothers me seeing a character pulling arrows out of their back.
Gives a whole new meaning for “pulling things out of your a…” doesn’t it?
Been saving chest and keys for a while now. Just opened 40 of them.
40 Fine (lvl 80) Transmute stones (come in groups of 5)
5 BLTP Merchant summoning thingy.
4 instant bank access items.
3 Repair canisters.
7 BL salvaging kits (175 uses)
and tons of useful boosters not available in the gem store, such a rejuv for an hour, speed boost for an hour, 5% damage increase for an hour, crit boost for an hour, etc. Not to mention fun transformation items.
I spent no gems on keys. I feel the chests are very rewarding.
You’re one lucky son of a b…
Just look at my findings from the beginning of the thread and compare.
One solution would be to have one free waypoint in each area. This way the players would still need to pay or walk if they wanted to get into the areas where the action is.
I would also like to see the shields give more defense, maybe in the expense of other stats.
So you charged alone in a group of enemies and died? Honestly, what did you expect?
And with some luck you could have gotten 10 BLSKs.
Killing dragon or doing dungeons are a waste of time then since repair bills are expensive and the loot is random, yes? You’re missing the point. The only way to get enough keys for all the chests dropping is the gem store and gems, while can be bought with gold, are ultimately bought with real money.
Oh yeah? I’ve bought 4 keys with gems. The 20-ish other chests were opened with keys from chests. I have a ~80% rate on gettign a key from opening a chest. Guess i’m just lucky.
“Lucky” in a way, yes. The drop rate for a new key seems to be around 50%.
In any case, the key in the chest happens to replace the (usually) most useful item and you’re left with the tonics and the booster (and the key).

If you didn’t get it, this was also a post directed to ANet so they might in the future tweak the contents of the chests to make opening them more desirable.
While I agree that making the chest more desirable would be nice (and make Anet more money) I would like to point out this is not the place for directing feedback to anet. If it gets deleted or locked it will be because of this. not the content.
You’re right to the point. Now I’ll go post this in the suggestions forum.
Oh, right. Such forum does not exist
mhm, few good tokens are the karma one, and killstreak one
killstreak is 100% exp bonus for 30sec, timer resets after each kill.
repeating event with both up, rawr!
Then just buy those directly from the gem store?
Any1 know why they decided to make this decision?
The same reason they decided to give stealth and teleport to thief and mesmer in downed state, or a self instant rez that lets you use your invulnerability skill as a warrior
..
You do know that the warriors self rez is temporary and once it ends (15 seconds) the warrior is defeated (not downed, but defeated), don’t you?
And yet, I can sell that item from anywhere, getting it out of my inventory, for a “15%” convenience fee. I don’t think I have a problem with that.
Considering that you can get 8 slot bags for practically free, you can carry salvage kits and that vendors are practically everywhere, I’d say that it’s a pretty minor convenience. I’ve ran out of bag space only once and that was a bugged champion mob that spawned a chest for every participant.
If you didn’t get it, this was also a post directed to ANet so they might in the future tweak the contents of the chests to make opening them more desirable.
Making the tonics tradeable would be a start. Roleplayers might be willing to pay some coin for those. Adding a chance for rare crafting materials would be even better.
As you agreed, at the moment the chests are not worth it. I’m not expecting them to become jackpots, but they need to be adjusted slightly.
Everytime I die, its 1 silver ++ just to get back to the waypoint. Its incredibly annoying to pay that fee just because you die. So, hope they tune down the scaling for port fees, seriously…cause I am level 66, and sitting only at about 40 silver, because of how expensive one trait book is and because of so much money being spent on teleport.
Oh the days when dying in a game actually incurred a real penalty…
To those who have not found out the bitter truth yet: The loot from the Black Lion Chest is not worth the gold/gems that the keys cost. I’ve spent 900 gems for keys (10) and with those + the keys (3 I think) I’ve got as quest rewards I’ve opened some 20+ chests. My results?
ONE black lion salvage kit (worth 300 gems)
ONE pack of fine transmutation stones (worth 200 gems)
ONE instant repair canister (worth 70 gems)
TWO bank access tokens (worth 150 gems)
Plus
A TON of absolutely useless, account bound tonics, of which the only meaningful use is to take up your bank space.
A FEW Black Lion harvesting tools with ridiculously low usage count.
A BUNCH of boosters, fun but ultimately useless.
So unless you think the last three are worth something, it’s not worth to purchase keys from the gem store until ANet makes the chest loot worth the price of opening them.
Want proof to my point? Check the price of Black Lion Chests in the TP.
Prepare for this post to be deleted promptly.
just because wow become easy like msot of people say is still better game than this and im sorry to say that but is true.
Yes because you think so it’s a fact for everyone, right?
I"m glad they have a way to change the looks of your armor but I’m waiting until I’m level 80 to transform my armor. I can’t see transforming armor that you will out level in a day or two.
Bear in mind that the basic transmutation stones only work on equipment of lvl 79 and below…
It’s called a money sink. Be glad that dyes are reusable and only need to be unlocked once
I fail to understand the MMO locust. Also I’m not playing WoW, I’ve done my time with that game. The only other MMO I’ve played is SW:TOR which I got to level 15 on and got bored. (I don’t count GW1 as an MMO, it’s a co-op RPG with a lobby, and PvP on the side…yet still a very good game that kept me entertained for a long time)
MMO locust is a term for a person who starts playing a new MMO and then spends an absurd amount of time per day to consume all the available content as quickly as possible. Then they come to the forums complaining that the developer should suddenly create them another bunch of content (which took them 5 years to make in the first place) so they could also consume through this aswell.
I’m sorry but there is no developer in the world who could create content as fast as you consume it. The only solutions are to
a) add tons of grind to the “endgame”, making it unbearable for anybody else except the MMO locusts.
b) create sandbox elements so players can create new content themselves.
Neither one of these options seem very viable at the moment (unless you count WvWvW as sort of a sandbox), so your best bet is to move on to the next game and return when the first expansion is published.
Either you love to burn through those transmutation stones or you don’t like completing areas. I have some 15 sitting in my bank all the time even if I use them…
You mean in cramped situations? Because in the open you can zoom out quite a bit (default is mousewheel down). If that’s not enough zoomed out for you I don’t know what you expect? MOBA style top-down view from the clouds?
This game does a good job at making your character feel like a wimp (w i m p).
That being said;
The down level system is awsome and with a few changes I might be playing the game right now instead of spending time on the forums. I like feeling powerful in games and that my presence matters. I don’t think I will ever get that from GW2.
I dunno. I feel like my presence matters all the time, as I complete DE’s with myself or just a couple of other players around.
Best feature of the game. If you want to play with absolutely no challenge, GW2 is not the game for you.
“I’ve earned the levels” lol… so hard to level in GW2…
OP is an MMO locust. Sadly for you there are only sandboxes (nothing good out there right now before ArcheAge comes) and/or waiting for the next themepark. MoP is out on the 25th, should keep you grinding for another 2 weeks at least.
Well determining that digital sales are offline for almost a week now I’d say they’ve sold quite a bunch…
And of course they’re selling even more boxes now that players have no alternative.
Or they can check out the areas they did not explore when leveling. With their lvl 80 character or a new one. Either one is all good.
There is a stupid amount of content there and I pity those who rush one character to lvl 80 and then start whining that there’s nothing more to do.
My issue with the original post is not the difficulty, but the rewards.
15s and no loot? That seems either buggy, or totally not even worth the trouble.
Well you did get the armor piece, didn’t you?
Warriors can select a signet for every slot (healing, 3 utility, elite).
Thanks for the “/kneel” tip. Didn’t know that
I’ll add my own.
39. You can set any of your abilities to auto-activate whenever the cooldown is done by CTRL-Clicking on them. Most useful on the standard “1” attack.
40. If you’re being left behind in levels, try crafting. It gives massive XP.
You should be able to run at 60 FPS with everything maxed most of the time, save WvWvW and the biggest cities.
I’m using autoattack and have noticed no problem with dodge. I’m using shift as my dodge key and have disabled double-tap dodge.
What the … did I just view?
Since GW2 doesn’t have raids I’d say the explore modes are the equivalent of raids, in that they are the ultimate PvE challenge.
The rewards might need looking into, but the difficulty needs to remain. Otherwise all PvE content in GW2 will be trivial.
