ANet could of course remedy it all by having Scarlet seduce Trahearne so we could fight and kill him.
I actually dislike the design of the new area. It’s too busy — too much stuff. It’s too easy for people to run away, especially those with stealth.
That’s why it has those capture points.
You’d never catch a stealth roamer thief anyway, with or without the ruins.
1. It’s not a bug.
2. Spamming the forums will not get you reimbursed. Try to contact customer support.
They should start replacing one hit kills with DOT damage.
And how would that help the “tanks”, as condition damage ignores Toughness?
Inb4 this year it’s Scarlet who explodes from the Lion Statue, having “killed” the Mad King.
She brings with her trusted allies, the Aetherblades!
Because everyone loves the Aetherblades, right?
CHAMP BAGS FOR EVERYONE!!!!11!!ONEONE
I absolutely agree with you, OP.
It’s like they had people writing the lore for GW1 and GW2, then when the game went live they fired all of them, brought new people who had never even heard of Tyria and asked them to start writing them stuff.
Reading this stuff about awesome events and progressing of the story in GW1 I feel really betrayed by the “living story” in GW2…
Maybe one day when they finally bring out an expansion. I’m starting to feel we need to stop purchasing gems to “force” them to release an expansion…
Any new build changes all node locations. Nodes will also change locations if a map is completely empty of players. Nodes respawn in six hours or at daily reset, whichever is longer.
That’s new info for me. Do you have a source?
Just a part of the characters being slow and sluggish when moving, sadly, instead of moving at a reasonable speed.
Reasonable? As in able to run sideways and backwards as fast as forward?
What’s reasonable about that?
I will be frank and say that veterans and champions are boring. Why are they boring? Because they are exactly the same as the normal mobs, only with increases health and damage.
Hi, I’m a Champion Risen Grub and I’d like to talk to you about this sentiment of yours…
It already works like that. People who are not worth WXP give no points.
Is that just from your observations as I have seen no confirmation of that, and the score board changes constantly so its difficult to test in game.
Also for a person to be worth no wxp, they would need to have died several times already yielding a point every time, if the diminishing return only kicks in at 0 wxp then its not much of a dimisning return at all.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/borderlands-bloodlust-in-world-vs-world/
Just says so in the official announcement. Don’t know if it’s true, though. As you said, it’s pretty difficult to test.
And yes the DR on it of course could be tuned. I’m sure they will if they see stomp XP is the deciding factor of matches too often.
I have heard this answer a lot but it isn’t true. The node locations change way more often than that.
That’s because usually their servers need to be reset more than once per week for bug fixes, etc.
but you cannot control your pugs, and you cannot prevent them from being stomped.
This is my observation also. And you have even less control over the 3rd place servers pugs who are feeding points to your enemy.
There needs to be some limitations on how often a player can donate points to an enemy server.
Maybe put a 15 minute timer after they die whereby they cant generate points when stomped, or some form of dimishing returns similar to the wxp they yield on death.
It already works like that. People who are not worth WXP give no points.
No, he wants all the skins to be obtainable through gameplay (which they are, thanks to the gold->gems conversion).
Basically, it’s just a case of VP envy.
Practically he would like the cash shop only to have items he doesn’t want.
You got me wrong.
What I meant by “killing their own WvW career” is that I don’t want them to be discouraged. A person who goes to WvW at level 20 might get the impression that they are really bad, because they’re being 3-shot by lvl 80s.
Even further, if they participate in bloodlust, they gain almost no experience while getting stomped all the time. I’m just afraid they say “kitten this kitten” and never try WvW again.
Nobody wants that. Which is why I’ve been telling members of my own realm who are new to WvW that they should either level their toons by PvE or at the very least try to group up and take camps/towers/keeps with others, gaining exp and levels. If they stick to the bloodlust area they will never get anywhere and only become frustrated.
My guess is that most that run up-leveled characters in WvW are not new to WvW, but rather run alts. Besides, I don’t think even new players are naive enough to think that they should be up to par with decked out bronze invader or whatever. Personally I think that what drives people away from WvW is those venomous people that in frustration call people “total noobs” just because they didn’t do exactly what that elitist thought they should have done.
Could be. I’m not one of those, though. I always try to help them and give them advice of what they could have done better. I often go to 2v2 with an upleveled lvl20 at my side and if/when we get killed I never blame them for the loss (because that would be pretty stupid, right?)
And yeah I can tell a difference between a person new to WvW and a WvW vet who’s just leveling an alt. I can also tell you that the latter are not coming to the bloodlust area unless they’re really bored.
WvW just got another layer of strategy added. Learn, adapt, overcome.
You are as ignorant of the realities of most match-ups as Devon Carver seems to be.
Yes matchups are kittened up. We know that. It has nothing to do with this mechanics however, and everything to do with their stupid random matchups.
Go bark at the right tree.
At server reset. Usually tuesday on patch time.
I also noticed a lot of upleveled total noobs “roaming” in the bloodlust area. Please tell them to go level in PvE or run with the zerg. They are doing absolutely nothing but killing their own WvW “career” there. I told as much to one lvl 20 from my realm.
Killing their own WvW “career”? What does that even mean? Gotta love these elitists that think they are gift to server and PvP.

Hey hey Riverside? What’s up? You are climbing ranks like crazy. Looks like you might even be #3 ahead of Piken next week.
Good luck
So don’t let the other servers get 3 BL buffs? It really doesn’t take that much effort to capture the buff for your realm if you really feel you should have it. Much less even if you hold the Garrison.
WvW just got another layer of strategy added. Learn, adapt, overcome.
Location changes once a week. Respawn time is 24 hours.
Warrior needs a melee weapon set to be effective in WvW. LB is pretty good paired with a hammer or dual swords. Rifle… meh.
If you go to a dungeon using rifle as your main weapon you will be kicked.
If you go to PvP using rifle as your main weapon you will be stomped.
Just wanted to give you a warning… If you want to play with rifle as main weapon, go engineer. Will also solve your sniper attire problem.
Also a champion Charr at the end of a mini dungeon in the zone just north of the AC dungeon zone. Forget what it is called. Its an underwater fight.
That’s just because getting to him in the first place takes you a better part of an hour if not more. First you need to finish the Meta event in which the Charr take back the Font of Rhun, something that is not really soloable (but doable with 2 players). Then you need to go through the temple itself which takes a while too.
It’s hella fun though to do with a few players.
I also love the new bloodlust areas (I call them just “ruins”). Perfect for small-team fights. Yes, zergs come there every now and then but most of the time they’re just passing by quickly or capping the buff and moving on. You can resume your roaming after they’re gone again.
There are no phat lewt to be had in the ruins and that’s great! It means the zerg train will never ever stick there for long, because we all know they don’t play WvW for the PvP.
Tried for the last two hours to get a nice 1v1 in AR borderlands bloodlust area. No luck. No matter if it’s AR or Viz, they either keel over with 3 hits or run back to their buddies.
Yeah I know, WvW is not about 1v1 but come on, grow some balls!
hmmm ask to rye (don’t remember what) from [one] from piken, i let him 1vs1 (I got blamed by other AR for doing that), i have wait his cooldown and i got kitten d almost 90% of time =D.
I could say the same thing, except rye, 0 piken try to 1vs1.
Oh I did get some nice 1v1s in Piken Square BL against AR and Viz, just got frustrated in the evening at AR borderlands.

But yeah, I love bloodlust. It’s the most fun I’ve had in WvW, ever. This is actually what sPvP should have aswell. Three-way small team on a large area with interesting terrain. I’d give my left nut to get an sPvP map like this.
I see someone’s angry because their karma train has lost some ppl.
Yep getting lag all the time now. Yesterday had skill lag in Frostgorge sound. No Jormag or nothing special. I guess the 10 man champ train was enough for ANet’s hampsters.
Or just have a real MMO engine that can actually show those masses of people moving in your plain sight.
Superiors dropped massively in price with the ascended patch because it was a cheap way to level towards 450. Haven’t checked if they’re back up already.
EDIT: Nope, still cheap as fk.
And it’s boring as f…k
I could just aswell run the easy dungeon paths over and over again to get empyreal frags, but guess what? That’s boring too!
So how do you want to aquire them?
After i got my first ascended weapon, i stopped farmng for them specifically and guess what, they still keep dropping.
I mostly play wvw and get 50-100 from it per day. Then i do the occasional dungeon run, if something pops up in guild chat and do 3 jumping puzzles if its a daily.I get an average of 100 shards per day, which is, in my opinion, a fair rate to aquire them.
I actually acquire most of the through jumping puzzles, but as I said they should be distributed better, with the longer and harder JPs giving more.
WvW is ok, but only if you run with the train or ninja-cap camps. The new bloodlust roamers get nothing

It came back with the SAB patch 2 weeks ago. And I see Ellen is still standing in the fountain. Talk about forgotten hero lol.
Wvw folks can scream as much as they want about their 20vs20 being the future..All i know is that if there wasnt spvp and i had to grind to keep up and search for hours for a proper 1vs1 or small scale battle on wvw i wouldnt be playing this game anymore.
But there is really no reason why we shouldn’t be able to have 20v20 in sPvP (as a custom arena), though. It would add choice and diversity, something sPvP is currently sorely lacking.
if I wanted to PvP I wouldn’t be in WvW
I think you said all that we need to hear from you. Go kill Teq so others can take your place in WvW.
GTA 5 anyone?
No thanks. Waiting for PC version.
Not many buttons so it isnt a keyboard management sim like other games.
This, really.
When I PvPd with my Rogue in WoW, I needed almost all buttons on my G13 and Razer Naga, even if I used tons of macros. Crazy, I tell you.
I would be happy even with WoW’s battleground diversity.
I would also love to see GW2 versions of Isle of Conquest and (original) Alterac Valley. Normalized gear/stats combined with ~30-40 players per side would be just awesome in GW2.
I guess all I really am asking is diversity. sPvP works in the sense that it’s true PvP, where people actually engage each other in PvP combat, often with equal numbers and stats too, where only the skill of the players matter.
All we need is a bit more diversity so it doesn’t get boring so quickly.
Why not laurels? If you play WvW you should have a ton of those.
Be sure to fraps that duel
I would wager most NA players are fast asleep at this time of the day or just waking up for school/work.
I’d love some open world GvG warfare, as long as it’s mutually exclusive. I.e. both parties need to accept the war invitation (note I use “invitation”) before it goes live, and either party can end it without notice.
This kind of system was the basis of years worth of roleplaying in Ultima Online on the Europa shard. We had really cool battles, which all usually began with the forces meeting and the commanders talking. Stuff of real heroes, not peasants mindlessly murdering each other.
No need for dueling system either. Warred guilds could sit in the same tavern, and then they get into a fight, sometimes it would escalate, often not.
Well they got lazy. Instead of determining each JP’s difficulty and adjusting the amount of fragments manually, they chose to apply some weird logic algorithm that gives 6-9 fragments for Morgan’s Leap (which you can combo into another 6-9 + 2-4 from Dark Reverie) and 2-4 fragments for Skipping Stones.
And by the way, both 6-9 puzzles above can be portaled to easily.
I would love to switch my 2 hour queue to your situation. Because I only play 2 hours per evening, tops.
I play sPvP occasionally, but it’s just so repetitive. So let’s see what we would need to make it less repetitive:
- More maps, more game modes. Conquest is seriously getting old.
- REAL custom arenas, custom game modes and big maps to facilitate GvG.
Start with those and sPvP will suddenly be much more lucrative.
About rewards, no. We seriously don’t need the loot piñata crowd in PvP. It’s bad enough in WvW where a good third of a zerg are absolutely clueless and run there just to get that karma/achi/world completion/ascended material whatever.
As long as you can rally off mobs, they should all be removed from WvW permanently.
