Thoughtless Potion on Headgear [Gallery]

The horns are pathetically small. I don’t want to hear that in a game, too.
Well that escalated rather quickly…
Interestingly enough, the crafted materials are available on the TP for purchase so you technically are not time gated in acquiring the mats needed to make your ascended gear other than, of course, the vision crystal mats which are account bound.
None of the vision crystal mats are time gated. You can grind them to your heart’s content.
As you cant buy the account bound mats on the tp and you have to invest time to farm them, they are technically timegated.
I don’t think you know what a gate is.
I edited my post to workgated. This might help you to understand the point I was trying to make.
It’s still not a gate. Inventing your own words for “grind” is not gonna stick. Use the proper, established terms.
As you keep discussing terms and not the point in question, i will just ignore your posts.
There is no gate so you don’t have a point. The time gate can be skipped by spending gold and the “workgate” is not a gate at all.
All it takes to get the ascended weapons/armors is a lot of grind. There is absolutely no gating there. You can power through 24/7 and not be stopped at any point by the system.
Steam has “free to play” weekends on certain games when they have special prices or promotions. I don’t think Gw2 needs this but I do recommend selling the game via Steam.
it would be nice to have more exposure via steam but ncsoft does not like sharing any profits with lord gaben.
I can sort of understand that, because GW2 lives and dies with the box and gem sales.
And yet GW1 was on steam.
Not initially. Published in 2009, so four years after release.
Hey where did Scarlet go?
That’s the question I’ve been asking, but most seem to think she’s hiding inside the giant drill.
I tend to believe she’s not in LA, at all. Based on the fact that Taimi, who seems to know more about Scarlet than she should, is stating that she’s not in LA. Plus the fact that in all previous encounters with Scarlet, she could barely keep her mouth shut for 5 minutes without taunting us. Now, she doesn’t say a word during the whole 45 minutes we are in LA each hour.
But while I believe Scarlet is not in LA, I have absolutely no idea where she would be, then.
We got to see her in LA…on the drill, in the cutscene that plays when you log in, i’m willing to bet she is legitimately on the drill right now, with her rifle (something we hadn’t seen her even use since Queens Jubilee), she’s in LA, and she means kittening business.
During the cutscene, yet, but no sign of her after that. You’re probably right. It’s just weird that she’s gone all silent since.

Indeed. GW2 uses all three dimensions very neatly. You’ll find plenty of nice secrets if you just explore a bit further

I think you can get GW2 for less than 40 bucks today. If your friends aren’t interested enough to invest that much, I wouldn’t count on them wanting to play past that free weekend anyway.
Wasn’t the point of this thread the fact that the event was gone before anyone had a chance to do that?
I’m pretty sure lots of people had that chance, none just chose to.
But yes, this was hidden pretty well from view. The best solution would obviously have been to have it more visible and/or advertised somehow so that more people would have happened to it (and thus more likely to add it to the Wiki).
ESO has a sub. After the first month or two most people will come back.
Damask is still expensive as hell. You can make a ton of money by selling those.
In my opinion Anet’s holding back of information is not a good way to hype releases. Many people envision about the content and at the end they are disappointed because it isn’t as big as the imagined content. Happened to me a few times too. So i hope there will be more information prior to release because don’t forget the Headstart of ESO in April and how it can effect “disappointed” customers (not meant as a threat).
Well as far as story releases go, I’d rather have less than more information beforehand. Kinda dilutes the story if we already know what’s gonna happen in the release.
About feature patches, absolutely should tout the features beforehand. That’s why I don’t think there will be any feature patches for a while now.
Plus if he was buried under LA and you needed his corpse, wouldn’t the GIANT FRIGGIN’ DRILL be a little bit wrong tool for that?
Maybe it’s an idea that after an event has finished, the scripts are made public on either the site or the forums for people to read them and use it for future reference
Well you could always enter them into the Wiki…
I would love me some Guild Halls, but I’m not too hopeful about that.
Considering they will appear in between of Living Story seasons, I dread that they add more gear progression into the game…
Nice necro, considering there’s now ~150k ancient wood logs in the TP, starting from 3,99s apiece.
Well the only patch I would disagree with is the addition of ascended gear. Everything else has been just gravy.
Maybe you could give some examples which patches your huge T1 guild dislikes?
Yeah check your “Items I’m selling” in your transactions tab.
Most likely, you put items for sale on the lowest sell price instead of highest buy price and they’re still unsold.
With all the Bloodstone dust we’ve been collecting, we could probably have built a few Bloodstones of our own already.
The story might be good in the end (we still don’t know all details and how it all ends), but it was shrouded in unbreakable mystery for too long. ANet has themselves admitted this and thus we have hope season 2 will have more “mid-season” finales instead of piling all the answers to the end of the season.
kitten . I missed this one totally, mainly because I wasn’t at all interested in the Wurm events.
Marjory and Kasmeer behind everything?

Well considering this “case” started long before either of them were involved I’d say…
No. Check your tinfoil hat. I think it’s leaking.
True, it should be mentioned that the rubble piles must be unique.
3 grape nodes in the Edge of the Mists, too. Don’t forget!
You think ANet would have added grapes to the EotM map if they would continue being useless in the future?
I switched from the Naga to the Naga Hex, not because I wanted, but because I accidentally killed my old Naga with a static shock. Poor thing.
I didn’t like the feeling of the new Naga’s thumb buttons, so I went for the Naga Hex. I must say the thing I hate the most is that they moved the 4th and 5th mouse buttons from being next to the left mouse button to behind the mouse wheel.
Whoever thought that would be a convenient place for mouse buttons? You have to hook your finger to a very unnatural position to reach them, especially the one closest to the rear. I had to switch my weapon switching from mouse5 to middle mouse button (wheel) and it takes some time getting used to…
Can’t see any harm in this, so +1

A noble, self-sacrificing death, mano-a-mano with a dragon.
Forever immortalized in a huge statue in New Lion’s Arch, with the words ‘Never Forget!’
So you want her to kill the dragon that appears, leaving the players standing in the dust?
Well that would surely be a popular choice…
No. It’s a conspiracy and you’re all part of it!

I hope you’re going to use game gold to buy it.
Yes I actually mean it.
Why? Some of us like to support the game and buy gems with real money. You should be thankful. If it wasn’t for us the game would be closing soon.

You can bypass the time gate with gold.
It’s a great thing, because it allows those with more money than patience to bypass the wait, and those with more time than money to earn some $$$ with crafting.
Simple, easily considered stupid, question:
Do toons need to be a certain level in order to earn 500 in crafting?
No.
Yeah you saw her in the cutscene, after which you were knocked unconscious and carried out the city. When you go back, there is no sign of her and she also stays silent, which is totally different from all the other events, where she has been present to taunt the players. How do you explain her silence all so suddenly?
No. ANet needs money to keep the game running and updates coming. A cap on the ratio would effectively destroy the game in a few years at most.
Is that what you want?
Could return this year June, of course. We don’t know.
kitten . Do you have a screenshot?
Pretty soon after enough people start whining that they’ve crafted their full sets of Ascended armor.
Well to me it seems Taimi knows more about Scarlet than she should. She could of course just mean that Scarlet is not in LA per se, but inside that big drill.
But still, it feels a bit weird for her to say that. Yes we see Scarlet in the opening sequence, but not after that. Besides, everywhere else she’s been around she has been taunting people through her loudspeakers, but not in LA.
I’m pretty sure she’s not there and my question remains.
I assumed Scarlet would be sitting inside the giant drill in LA, but according to Taimi:
“Oh, all right. I won’t go there. I’m not stupid. Besides, Scarlet’s not even there.”
So the big question is – if she’s not in LA, where the heck is she?
For the last three updates, I’m absolutely thrilled that ANet has taken the time to make tons and tons of lore-related dialogue into the game. Best of all, a lot of it is with voiceovers and NONE of it is with marionette shows.
This is exactly the way I want to consume my lore. In game, with voice and within the game engine. Not in a cutscene, not in a marionette show and certainly not outside the game in a short story.
Others might disagree, but I for one am very happy about the recent direction of how the lore is distributed. I might add that I’d be ready to read longer in-game lore in in-game books. Preferably ones that I can carry with me to read whenever I’m bored or have some downtime.
So again, thanks ANet!
(You’ve also managed to get me again interested in the living story, which is something I was pretty sure you would not be able to do.)
Still a permanent map… and one of the best aesthetically designed one too.
Nope. But then I didn’t ask you, I am waiting for a Dev to respond… if it doesn’t happen or this post disappears… It probably will pop up again and again until there is an answer.
With that attitude, all you’re getting is a ban.
I would not wait for large permanent zones before the current living story is over. Even then, it’s not known if there will be any. Do you seriously expect a dev to suddenly pop here and tell you something before they would announce it publicly?
I did Marionette 13-14 times in an overflow. I never even got close to completing it. I logged in early and did it once on the main server. Perfect run.
YMMV.
It does. Just completed it in an overflow yesterday. Tried it couple of times before on main (Piken Square) and failed.
YMMV indeed.
We’re seriously discussing the damage orange circles do to the artistic integrity? In a game where every hit you make springs up a 70’s cartoon “POW” balloon with damage done? Plus a flashy effect, even when just chopping a worm with an axe?
Looking forward to showing some of my guild’s PvP-phobics the ropes of WvW
Last time this happened I managed to start more than a few guildies on their PvP career.
It might look scary, but once you get into the rush, you’re hooked
Yesterday I was in an overflow that beat the Marionette (was my first kill, too). Commanders on the map took the time to explain every single warden mechanics on map chat. They also coordinated people to go from lane X to lane Y to have enough ppl for each warden fight.
Result – 4 first chains broken with maybe less than 5% of the failure meter filled. Then 2 failures, and success on the 3rd try for the 5th boss. During the two failures the commanders kept explaining it further, giving advice to increase DPS, piling them up for AoE, etc.
I genuinely believe it was this attitude of telling people exactly what to do in each fight, instead of telling them to go to Dulfy, that won the fight.
In my experience the events fail because people have trouble 5-manning a champion.
And part of the failure falls to ANet for allowing lvl 35s in greens and blues to take part in the event.
It’s in a level 35 zone in open world. I think what you really mean is that the failure is creating an event in a place like that where level 35s in greens and blues are a liability.
Well yes. That’s effectively what it comes to, but it would also be boring to put all future instances in lvl 80 zones or instances.
