BFLA: Aftermath general discussion SPOILERS

Bleh. I was hoping they actually did have a trailer for today’s release. Instead they just copied the end cutscene from last release 1:1.
Ahwell. Hope they’re busy making our grand feature patch and hope they can get some info of it out soon.
With one week matchups at a time, no good way to get to know your enemies, the ability to flip a keep in less than 5 minutes AND no incentive to defend, WvW will always be just that – pointless (fun).
Every time a commander is killed it should spawn a ore node in the shape of a gravestone
Interesting suggestion. What resource should it yield? Tears?
I’m pretty sure stat reassignment will be reserved for legendary armor, which will come sometime in the future.
If you think getting up there is hard, wait till you try to land into that water.
If you have equipped the sword already then no, you cannot transfer it to another character, as it is now soulbound.
Instances suck. I would love to see open world guild halls. There’s plenty of real estate in the world for small guilds, medium guilds and huge guilds. Make upkeep for the bigger and better positioned guild halls large enough so only active and large guilds can have those.
I think Anet will make a big mistake if they try to drag the confrontation with the dragon beyond Season 2. Two years per dragon should be plenty. That’s 10 years worth of LS updates.
I want a TL;DR.
Maybe he had been playing ESO?
I’m not a fan of guild halls – it dilutes the population too much.
What if the guild halls would be located in the actual open world – within the cities and towns of the world? Obviously the upkeep for the larger halls would have to be big enough so only large guilds could afford to have them. Smaller guilds would have smaller halls and houses, also in the open world.
Have the guild halls actually been confirmed, yet?
I dont understand Rpers at all,no offence really but wasting time in town pretending that you are your character is sooo stupid and weird lol.I dont know it might just be me cause in many games i played before i never saw Rpers untill i come here.It was so strange to see people acting like Npcs…
Who could possibly take offense to you calling them stupid and weird?
Rofl My thoughts exactly.
No way currently, sorry.
Go to GW2stuff.com and do events. Make sure you don’t miss any of the Orr Temple events, as they will give 30 dragonite for completion each.
You’ll be swimming in Dragonite in no time
I’m hoping they will be “fully fleshed”, just like the original leveling zones, with stories, tons of events, PoI’s, jumping puzzles, etc.
Not like Southsun which is very bare bone.
Yeah, I remember seeing more people “RP” from time to time any other MMO like star wars Galaxies. I wonder if GW2 will ever have an RP server. I do not mind them if they are not in my way, its only in large events I would be angry if I see someone RPing on the side of a lane in Marionette
ANet has absolutely no plans for additional RP support and an RP server is likely never going to happen.
Hell, it took a serious kittenstorm to convince them to add walking into the game.
You are correct. GW2 is one of the least RP friendly MMOs ever made. That’s unlikely to change anytime soon. RPers are not their “target audience”.
Not a WvW problem specifically. MF interface is just bad and needs an overhaul in general.
I agree. The direction of supply is the wrong one, I think. WvW should be all about supply and siege, securing supply lines and protecting them.
I made a suggestion earlier that supply should not be carryable by players at all, but would need to be transported from supply camps with the dolyak trains or similar mechanic. To go with that, we should be able to move and capture siege like in TESO you can. I mean the flame ram even has wheels under it!
This is certainly a strong candidate for the April 1st update, if there will be any.
I wouldn’t object if I get to kill lots of salad people in LS season 2.
Not to mention with the latest “hard” encounters some players could downright hurt others with reflected stuff. In fact, with a small group it would be easy to grief the knight fights and ensure they will never be finished.
They need to do a “Living Maintenance” Arch where they release bug fixes and core content every two weeks.
I would be totally down for this. They haven’t done any client optimization and/or features in a while. I’m still waiting for my FoV slider and controller support.
Also, would be nice to get some basic roleplaying support, such as sitting on chairs, eating/drinkin animations and guild halls,/player housing for example.
- Guild Halls (in the Open World)
- Ability to sit in chairs and on benches, rocks, logs, etc.
- Animations for eating/drinking
- Treasure Maps
- Fishing
- Appearance slots instead of transmute
- Dyes unlocked across whole account
- Borderland maps all made unique
- Dueling
- Consensual Guild vs. Guild PvP in the Open World
- More Guild Missions
- More weapon skills for each weapon, selectable
- More weapons for each Profession
- New profession
- New race
… what?
After Tequatl, the 3H Wurm and now this week’s events, I have mostly lost any hope for humanity.
I mean, how stupid do you have to be to keep shooting at the Cannoneer with 10 stacks of reflection for 15 minutes straight, while everyone is shouting KITE HIM OVER HERE UNDER THE LASER? And it wasn’t just one person, it was half a dozen.
So I wholeheartedly agree. Save the hard stuff for Guild Instances and give these morons their “content” which they can complete with their other hand in the pants.
Well considering we (with the Pact) did kill Zhaitan, I’d say any of the remaining EDs will consider us as their biggest threat and enemy. Why would they waste time and energy fighting each other?
Oh I’m sure plenty of players will enjoy stomping Scarlet over and over and over again…
Another quite viable option is to run with the Zerg in Edge of the Mists.
Well just be glad you’ve already got the Precursor. That’s the biggest grind, usually.
Between 200-300 bucks I think. Haven’t been keeping count.
…It better be a freaking huge dragon 5 times the size of Zhaitan with 20 times the health of Tequatl.
….and the event better not be have an overflow…
So what? The people who don’t fit to the main instance are given a notice that they cannot join the event at all, better luck next time?
You do realize the overflows are there not to kitten your off, but because their tech just cannot handle more people per instance?
Discoveries are always critical, so having a higher crit chance on crafting (such as the booster gives) has no effect on discoveries.
You’re right. I had my filters and sorting wrong. There seems to be some items you can craft and sell with profit. Obviously assuming the item you’ve crafted will actually sell at the price.
Couple ways to get them:
Buy heavy crafting bags with Laurels
Upgrade T5 materials in the Forge
Farm champions.
That’s it, pretty much.
My suggestion is sort the craft by “profit”.
And find items to discover that give you some profit or you loss a tiny bit in reselling.
Finding the cheapest item to level isn’t necessary the best idea. Because while some item is cheap to craft, it also sell for less. Some item while more expensive to craft, you only loss a tiny bit from reselling or even make profit.
Nice theory. Doesn’t work (for profit, anyway).
Since the cheapest exotics in the TP start from around 1G, when the loss is about that much it might be better to salvage it, because you will need the Dark Matter anyway.
Well if you’re in no hurry, you can refine ascended mats up to 475 and then do discoveries from there. You’ll need the refined mats anyway when you hit 500. Especially Damask.
How do you survive in full zerker when you fight in ZvZ?
Knight it is, then. I’d like to be able to survive a few moments in the frontline, too.
Well obviously I do have several exotic sets. One zerker for dungeon speedruns, for example.
I think I’ll still go PVT on the ascended, because I’m getting it mainly for WvW.
You don’t get it.
There is no WXP or ascended mats rewarded for flipping the bloodlust. That’s why nobody bothers to go there. The whole design is flawed by thinking that players would do something that would not benefit themselves, but others in the WvW.
Probably not, at least in the near future. ANet has not announced any plans for console versions.
I’d be happy with an official controller support for PC.
Grind gold and buy the stones. It’s much more effective that way.
I know. But for immersion reasons I’d like to get at least a portion of them how you’re supposed to aquire them: via gameplay.
I can understand that. When I was grinding the armored scales for my quiver, I did about 50:50 grinding and buying.
Grind gold and buy the stones. It’s much more effective that way.
Yeah that doesn’t work for caves, just cities that have two or more layers.
I’m starting to craft a set of Ascended armor for my warrior soon. My question is, should I still go for a PVT set in order to be able to fill a few different roles in PvE and PvP?
Because there is no chance in hell I’m going to grind more than one set.
If you had to choose just one set of armor for your warrior and stick with that for life, what would it be?
I wish all warriors wouldn’t be running that OP 30/30/30/30/30 build. Then maybe we wouldn’t be called OP all the time.
Ok let’s assume for a moment that Taimi is correct and Scarlet is not in LA (and not inside the giant drill either).
Where in the world would she be? Any ideas? What place would be more important than the place she has gathered all her forces to fight?
In practice, she could be anywhere, because all eyes are on LA now.
Could she be in Divinity’s Reach? What was her purpose being there in at Queen’s Jubilee, in addition to getting the watchknights, if any? The huge hole now covered by the Pavilion – does the pavilion really reach to the bottom or is there something even deeper there?
Questions, questions?
No, Taimi simply states that because based on the information she have gathered from the refugees no one have seen Scarlet.
WE (as players) saw Scarlet at top of the Drill during the cutscene. The NPCs (or our characters) did not. Thus we as player knows she is there, but none of the NPCs would.
That still doesn’t explain why she’s all of a sudden silent – it doesn’t fit her “style” to just sit there and shut up while the heroes are down there fighting her minions.
Could be just an oversight by ANet, or maybe she’s so concentrated on the drilling she doesn’t have time to taunt the players.
Or maybe she really isn’t there…
…has remained underneath the surface since its awakening, clearing huge tracts of the underground regions….
…Scarlet’s drill….
Guys! Could we be going UNDERGROUND for season 2?
Hopefully not all of it. That would be immensely boring.
Welcome to GW2. I wish we could get more content like the open world zones and leveling content. To me, it was the best stuff ever. Unfortunately it looks like we won’t be getting big new zones like that in the near future, if ever.
