seems like ya’ team had less skill than the turret AI. if ya’ that bad, i think ya’ should lose.
I feel like you’re not saving any time by typing out " ya’ " when it has the same amount of letters as " you ".
i believe you feel this way. i trust your honest expression of your thoughts and emotions.
Thank ya’!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Snip.
Don’t bother arguing with DarkSyze.8627, he’s either a really good troll or just someone really bad at the game.
Sometimes its fun to feed them either way though! ;3
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Not that it necessarily means anything (though it definitely does) but perhaps you’d like to count the number of topics on page 1 about class X?
Remember when SD Thief had 2 condi removals on an instant cast sword 2 return which also was a stun break, while 3 could be activated outside of range to teleport with larcenous giving a ranged 7k spike which was repeatable with a stunbreak///condi cleanse retreat so you couldnt be punished ever?
The page 1 looked a little like that was class X then.. But I’m sure you thought that was balanced too..
kitten , I wish I was around for that!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
making the decision to fight or run from a lich that lasts 20s is not the same situation as having to stay away from a turret engi on a point whose turrets last for 5 minutes.
in fact, all your “comparable” situations of playing around different builds aren’t in the same boat as turret engi.
you’re comparing apples to oranges and asserting them as equal comparisons.
Exactly. You know this guy is clueless when his usual argument is “outnumber the engeineer”. That’s not balanced nor close to fair.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
The biggest problem with stealth in this game is that it cannot be broken. Most games invisibility or stealth is removed upon taking damage. For some reason Anet does not understand the balance aspects of that and decided to avoid that in this game.
From a logical perspective it doesnt even make sense how something can remain stealthed after being crippled stunned etc…
Do you not see the trade off? What other games offer only a few seconds of stealth at a time? The ones you are referring to are permanent stealth mechanics that are meant for sneaking around before a fight. GW2 stealth is made to be a part of the fight. You’re comparing two whole different worlds here…
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Open field is supposed to be the places where you can have focus on the players and combat style. If you want to play seige monkey then go to a tower and start grinding a wall with a cata, or sit in an AC out of los and make “pew pew” noises while you jam 3 buttons in one place while you pretend to be good at the game.
False.
Open field is supposed to be the places where players can do whatever the crap they want, and you have absolutely no say what the “official” intentions for it are. I think open field siege is fantastic! You don’t like it? Noted, archived, forgotten. Don’t care, move along, cry more and whatnot. You can always go to not where siege is, right? Because y’know, siege is stationary.

Kinda impossible for melee to kill them way up there!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
If I read sentences like:
“My parrot with rocket turret won 1v1 vs thief while i was just standing on a corner”
“That’s why Khylo gets so little votes :>”
“While I’m sure I wouldve lost more if I were playing my main classes.”
“If you cant beat them, join them.”
…then I know that this guy was right:
“ITS DEFINITELY A L2P ISSUE.”It became clear to me you’re protecting Turret Engi everywhere you can, on every thread.
I wonder if he plays Turret Engineer…
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Pretty sure we all know what X class is, and OP more than likely mains it.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Bump, so posts like these don’t have to go to page2.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Arantheal.7396 obviously mains a Turret Engineer, otherwise he wouldn’t be so zealously defending this brainless build. His “counter-points” to everyone’s arguments is to just change your playstyle to play around this one class. Apparently that doesn’t raise a red flag to him.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Maybe the downed state is just working as intended, and the normal non-downed refuge isn’t!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Well it might not be op, but it sure is not very well created. They call it stealth but it’s really not, if it were stealth it might be more enjoyable to fight a thief.
I go invisible at times and people can’t find me for a few seconds. Looks a lot like stealth to me. What’s your definition of video game stealth?
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
since stability is a stack now you can also burn it off with aoe cc in a zerg fight. its not as strong as it used to be.
You are in the sPvP forum.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
No thank you. Stability is already super powerful and should not be as easy to acquire as it is. Maybe if the boon was more difficult to obtain…
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Good….gooooooood.

So salty!

But then how will I be able to log out when Skyhammer/Spirit Watch/Courtyard pops!
Wahoo! Bye frands!
This attitude is so stupid.
You literally have a queue which doesnt have these maps and then kitten about it when you play them.
Hint: play ranked.
If I recall you’re that guy who whines and moans about every class except necromancer, calling for out of this world nerfs left and right, because you can’t adapt and learn new strategies.
You shouldn’t be calling out other people’s attitudes.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
It just hit me, but queue priority would solve a lot of complaints. While the lower tiers are complaining about not having enough people, top tiers servers like FA are complaining that their queues continue to grow. Ive seen Chinese server complaints about queue times as well and how its driving the older dedicated players out of the game.
Queue Priority based on time and achievements in WvW for that specific server would resolve a lot of bandwagoning, allow long time players on a server to still play the game they love and not have to compete for time to play it with people just jumping on the next big thing.
Basically you would pass right by a new player in queue for that server if you are “older” than they are.
This…this is…
This is just a terrible idea.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
like I have already stated, where is the fun in taking an undefended tower/keep?
Busting down a door and taking a keep is satisfying. Whether or not a tower or keep is defended makes no difference in the feeling of pride I get for myself and my server/guildmates when I see another mark on the map turn to our favor.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
By merging the servers into the three colors and putting everyone in overflows you lose the sense of WvW comradery…
^ This right here. ^
I only got into WvW because of the realm-mates I’ve met while finishing map exploration. I feel like server-pride is a lot more meaningful than color-pride.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Since I logged in after the recent build I’ve been having an issue attacking after using a stolen bundle. I noticed it as I was taking camps in WvW, where the most common stolen bundle is [Blinding Tuft]. After using this I’ve always been able to immediately attack after the cast time (and hereby gaining stealth).
Today however, I couldn’t [Sneak Attack] for what seemed like 1.5 seconds after using the bundle and gaining stealth. I tried to recreate the issue a few more times, and the outcome was the same. The same issue also happened when I stole and used [Throw Gunk]. I didn’t think to submit a bug report because I had to leave shortly after for work, but was wondering if anyone had been noticing similar problems.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Well its more of an issue with shadowsteps/teleports as a whole, but most importantly our Steal skill.
Ever since the recent patch , we haven’t been able to IA up keep and tower steps, which is…whatever. But if we can’t steal while someone is on those steps, or while we are on those steps, or if those steps are in between us and our target, then there goes one of our only ways of interrupting our target. ;\
Grr. Grrrrr! GRRRR!!!??
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Oh so Mesmers want a buff to a skill that is, by the Devs, working as intended.
If they want a skill to go above and beyond the original intent, what are they willing to give up in exchange for the buff? All I hear is I want this and I want that.
Lets start off with 10 sec CD on DE shall we?
Pretty much this.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I really don’t see the appeal to 2/0/0/6/6 in S/D, why does the meta call for thieves to give up so much of their damage from CS for what, Pain Response and Hard to Catch in Acrobatics? It just seems silly.
Generally once in the fight, S/D stays in the fight. Its a little bit more tricky to sneak away and reset than P/D due to more initiative being used during the fight, not to mention S/D works best when you are relentlessly applying pressure on your target.
Acrobatics allows you to stay in the fight and keep applying that pressure as you will eventually get hit a few times throughout your incredible evasive attacks. It also increases your damage 10% (provided you ARE dodging and not just using flanking strike) while giving you access to many more dodges.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I don’t see duels in WvW.
I see friendly player battling enemy player. I help friendly player secure kill on enemy player.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Im shocked we at BP got stuffed against SF again even though they won the matchup. now we ganna deal with them again because the matchup system is janky
But but but… we like fighting BP. <:C
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Didn’t Anet mention that this trait is working as intended? Why is that not good enough some of you? The people who make this game think that it is just fine. Pretty sure they know waaaaay more about this subject and have access to a lot more data than you do.
If you still disagree with a working-as-intended ability/trait, then stop playing. Make your own game. See how that works out.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I believe ittt.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
If you’re not having fun, then no, stop logging in, nobody is forcing you to.
I’m having GREAT fun with GW2, therefore, the reason I play is—— to have fun!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
No other race’s [Unload] looks as a Charr’s.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I used Thieves Guild for WvW ’cause people get scared when they see more bodies pop up!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Please, the ones who use stealth are the easiest to fight. The evade spamming thieves are the real nuisances.
“Oh, look at me! I’m not using stealth so I must be a good player! Watch as I hit you while evading at the same time! Now I’ll jump dodge around randomly to make it look like I know what I’m doing!”
They obviously know what they’re doing in order to have killed you enough times for you to get angry and post about them. Or maybe you should ask yourself why you got killed by someone you think isn’t a good player or doesn’t know what they’re doing?
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I’m gonna assume people here are complaining about Thieves who add-on into an ongoing fight between two other people. Because unless it’s a P/D Thief, we’re still the lowest on the totem pole in terms of 1v1 combat. The only exception being we counter Mesmers.
Apparently its ok to have equal chance of winning against every profession EXCEPT thief…
But its not ok as a Thief to be OP towards mesmers, yet underpowered to every other profession.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Most Courtyard fights I’ve seen stay at one section of the outer-ring. I think the design would’ve been better without that outer ring, and just the arena at the center.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
This. It’s significantly easier for a blob to stunlock smaller guild groups now. Losing blobs vs guild groups play will be a loss of a big part of WvW and will lead to lots of skilled groups quitting.
Whose to say that the blob players aren’t as “skilled” as your “skilled guilds?” People automatically assume that guild groups are supposed to be able to beat larger numbers of unguilded/ungrouped players. Not if many of those ungrouped players are just as good players, but apparently people are blind to that possibility…
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I disagree completely with you stating population imbalance is Anet’s fault. Anet did not force people to transfer servers. Players choose to transfer servers and make fights one-sided.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I don’t understand why people complain about the healing in stealth. They make it seem likes its completely healing the Thief each time they stealth.
-It does ~325 hp per second. A normal stealth skill gives 4s of stealth.
-If the Thief attacks from stealth, they will only get max 3s of heals, so roughly 1khp – less than 8% of their total hp.
-If they stack their stealth and sit in stealth without attacking and gain that ~10s of stealth and recover around 3.5khp – then why are you just sitting there waiting idly for them to reveal themselves?
So what are you doing for those long periods of your opponent being stealthed, just twiddling your thumbs and waiting? Because the only reasonable explanation as to why you’re complaining is due to the longer-stealths. If not, how can 8% hp every 6 seconds even be noticeable with how little hp those Thieves have?
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I play the smallest size Charr, and he’s just a little shorter than the tallest human. And cute as kittens.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I can see English isn’t your first language, so I understand if you didn’t know what I meant. I was talking about the video, how it is not very good evidence, because it is just very short clips from different fights. Good evidence would be a non-edited video.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I will just leave this here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4xpjcPSDWQ"
Next time, target the evidence: not me!.
I clicked on the link for kittens and giggles, and saw the titles said “montage”. Didn’t even watch it. If you want to be taken seriously, find “evidence” that’s not cut and pruned, as I can expect anything with montage in its name is just someone playing very short clips of fights that were handpicked out of a few hundred. And I’m willing to bet its all zerkers and uplevels being killed.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
So I just started playing a Ranger character, and it started me out with a Longbow. As I moved through the starting area and fought Duke Barradin in his tomb, I was sitting near the room entrance shooting arrows at what seemed like beyond the range indicator of my skill #1. (The line under the skill was red, and it wasn’t auto attacking, I had to hit the button each time to loose an arrow)
So are these indicators supposed to be inaccurate? Or does the longbow have some sort of extra mechanic to shoot further than its stated range?
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
This would require a re-work of all on-weaponswap sigils
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Yeah the stealth in this game with the thief is way over the top, has been from day one, but they don’t seem to want to change it for whatever reason. Personally a certain game with a certain rogue has the stealth done like it should be, and if it wasn’t $15 a month …
I play S/D thief, so…yes please! I’d love to have permanent stealth to roam around before popping out unexpectedly without being seen from max draw distance!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
This just in – Risk vs. Reward!
I don’t feel like typing more than this, cause it doesn’t really need to be explained again.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
I seem to be against the norm by thinking this but…
I think a Thief using a greatsword is puppying stupid. :C
Just my 2 copper, don’t hurt me!
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
Haven’t decided on race, probably Lurikeen. Ah who am I kidding, Charr race best race.
Anywho, I wanted to get opinions on what you think is the most fun set of weapons to use whilst leveling up and why! Max damage and optimal builds are not key here, I want to know what makes you feel and look the coolest.
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
That sounds like it would bee too much of a change, although the title made me think more along the lines of Outnumbered Buff giving +bonus damage to enemy siege equipment. Would allow severely outnumbered realms to defend their keeps a little better.
