Would it be nice. Yes
But theres others content they need to work on first
You also get a good amount of gold for a dungeon run and a garentead 60 tokens of some swort witch can get you 2 golds crush into ectose to sell if you like.
I never said thay were working right
Probably why the chests were added
I asked for this alot when the game first came out and a little in beta I would still like to see it happen
you should also see to it that you understand how Combo fields work
such as you dont want to overlap a regen or life steal field with a fire field, yes the extra might or burning damage is nice but regen and life steal will help keep you on your feet.
The problem gauging the playerbase in GW2 is simple. In pretty much every other Themepark MMO you have a lot of people at the start and the majority at the end with a desolate middle. This is not the case in GW2 due to downscaling. Any zone is relevant for a level 80 character. This means people will be a lot more spread out instead of in 4-5 areas as it is in other Themepark MMOs.
Furthermore with the game not having a subscription fee, some people feel less inclined to log in to get their monies worth. They still play but might skip an evening here and there.
This just makes it hard to say if the population is going down or not. It feels like the population is down, but without solid numbers to back it up it remains a feeling, which could very well be wrong.
Honestly I think it’s the case of what I went through at the end of GW1. “Is there a special event? I might log in, but I don’t have much to do other than fool around aimlessly. Obby armor? Yeah I could but I’d rather put my hand through a woodchipper.”
People will ebb and flow, especially the ones who have done most of what they wanted to do already. They’ll come back when new content comes out, check it out, then go back to being idle.
this is how most MMO’s work even one’s with subs really.
did this plenty when i played EQ and I know people to do it with wow
I have been away for a week or so myself mostly just burnt out and so i went at Dragonborn and am now working my way through Crysis 3 on supersolder,
but i plan to be back at it again when the update’s hit. for some new and some old content
I’m exposed to enough drama in real life, I’d rather not experience it in game.
GG! Drama makes you feel fun!
Nope, I don’t think this is the right game for you if that’s your attitude. It’s not a bad thing to want these features, but this game was not marketed that way and probably won’t change.
I mean, the name of this game is “Guildwars”. It is not making sense that guild cant not fight other guilds at least. we suppose to fight other guild, or people, instead fighting zhaitan!
Guild wars had to do with lore, not with the players doing guild vs guild.
Or was the franchise called Guild Wars because that was the principal type of PvP in GW1, the one that Anet organized tournaments with real money prizes and that they hoped would develop in to a popular E-Sport, and then made up some “lore” to tie it in the story?
Seems a pretty stupid name if it was just because of the “lore” as they could have gone for something like “Shiro’s Daggers” 1 & 2 or “The adventures of Gwen” or anything that didn’t leave the impression that it could well be a game mechanic.
GvG actualy wasnt in the game at first

you fight Other guilds all the time in WVW and there are in fact vary recognizable guilds in WVW and you see them alot in the WvW forums
and you dont have to fight your own guild members to know that your getting your butt kicked in WvW or not.
but yeah 10 FPS isnt helping.
time to upgrade son!
its true the more you no about one game the harder it is to play anouther, if your expecting it to be some what simoler
Hell I was crazy good at Halo2 ((yes i know)) but when so good infact that when Halo 3 came along and it didnt work like halo 2 ((other than your standerd FPS staple’s)) that i sucked!
i didnt try to play halo3 as if it was its own game I tryed to play it as if it was Halo2.
you need 5 people for the last dungeon SWR
its an MMO thats been out for six months What exactly did you expect? ((unless you bought it day one and are just no desideing to complane about this.))
you could try actualy running it with a group. the contents not that hard so its not stupid frustrating if you dont actually talk the hole time.
you could also try to be social and get into a guild that’s a good fit for you with people you might actually like.
ITS HEALTHY.
((BTW your contacting players right now. Hell hit me up I still need to run mine some time. you can tag along with me and a few of my guildy’s just don’t be a kitten. only rule))
well, i fell 200% more comfortable with my guardian with only melee weapons for 95% of the content. and that means; i die less.
dunno what else to tell you.
Well, I feel 200% more comfortable with my necro with only ranged weapons for 100% of the content, and that means; I die less.
Even you who are clearly a godly player admit that even for the best of the best of the best, there is still that 5% that just kicks melee’s kitten while doesn’t really bother ranged.
As I said it’s not about one’s personal experiences, it’s not about one’s own skills – it’s about the game, the balance, and the difficulty in general. Get two players of equal skill, both of them above average players, give one ONLY melee weapons, give the other ONLY ranged weapons – the ranged will undoubtedly have a much easier time – THAT is what is wrong, THAT is what is unbalanced.
Well my guild leader is a necro who runs short range wepons and she has easly the most servivabuilty of any one i know. Life steal i think helps with this alot.
Also its not realy that unbalanced its true its often easyer to stay alive at range but you also do massively less damage and other than maybe nockback and cripples you loss alot of control
Top it off. My sword 1 skill hit 3 targets at one time most range 1 skills are only single target.
I think thay have stated there wont be any player houseing. Not really any way and the most we will see is advansments in the personal home instance.
How ever guild halls have been planed and even if its just the paperwork right now some small part of it is probably being planed for. I dont expect to see guild halls however until a full flushed out expansion pack.
Also if you just loged off try playing at more active hours. About 4 or 5 PM server time
Well i dont know about you but in low and mid level zone’s I may not one shot but i am still Way more powerfull than i was (also just better at the game)
And were im not some crased loot grinding nut i did get an exotic drop the other day and sold it for a gold. So that was awesome.
it IS on there to do list, they have said this manny time’s
grenth, grenth…
everybody answers “grenth” to counter talks about midless zergfest.i need to go take a look over there.. see if there is hope for open world content to be rewarding gameplay.
I only have one thing to say about him.
He’ll spike you like a football, literally.
I’m too much of a ragegamer to deal with that kind of cheap kitten.
Me and my guildys stay on our feet at that event But its fun to see al the players like yourself hit the dirt.
I slam down my WarBanner and BAM daily heals done.
now if others could just do the same
Except that doesn’t help revive other players (or at least mine never does). Sure you can get the daily heal from the npcs, but dead players are still not helping complete the event.
I’m with the other person, how is a really small guild going to compete with the larger ones? Also, what happens if two guilds try to do/start the same event?
not dead Just downed . players with a big enough health pool dont alway’s just Die from the drop, and manny get taken down by all the other AOE’s or the shade’s

I just can’t move quick enough on my trashy computer. Running in there with a glass-cannon gunner thief hardly helped things. Hard to revive anyone when the launching attack I’m talking about kills me from fall damage alone and instantly. pretty much pointless for me to try there. But enough about this, I don’t wanna hijack the thread.
Lol Its kinda stupid but i have actually survived the drop by spamming all my shout (with heals) as soon as i hit the ground landing in a regen aoe, and useing my self heal. :P
but yeah dont bring a spike build to, he needs alot more groups/ group focused builds and a little planing, some got to focus on him/ some have to focus on protecting that dude, and some really need to focus on bringing down the shade’s and staying near the pools energy.
we need more events like that insted of just DPS it down tell its dead. and that is what i would like to see with the guild events

How dissapointing… instead of raids we’re getting more mindless, super easy, open world zergs?
we will see, A-net now has a much better idea on numbers and if the new Orr enconters show anything its that they can make diffacult open world content ((see Grenth))
also note that there are some aspects of this stuff ONLY GUILD MEMBERS can do.
The way I read it, I thought the only stuff for GUILD MEMBERS was going to be the rewards. I don’t remember reading anything saying there would be guild only events.
Quote from interview:
“Also, anyone who was in the guild that kicked off the mission receives an extra different type of reward, which can be traded in for a new category of personal guild rewards that can only be earned through the guild mission system.”Now I can’t wait to see babies crying how there is only one way how to obtain that goodies.
Yup, time for me to join one of the “large” guilds I keep seeing in chats.
Mpt guild only events, things in an event that only guild members can do.

For instance, Thief might seem a DPS class in PvE, but DPS is probably the least important thing a Thief does in group PvE; dropping a smoke screen to cover your team, shadow refuge to stealthrez, Gas+Bomb for AoE weakness on multi-mob encounters, Daggerstorm in front of a boss to protect team from projectiles, Signet of Agility to removed conditions and recover endurance to your whole team, Headshot to rupt, refuge to heal and give lifesteal to team, and all steal-obtained skills are much more important than just “ololol DPS olol”.
As you can see it gets much deeper once you l2p, it’s not all immediately clear; it’s a lot different to have a Thief in my team that knows all of the above, and a team who’s spamming things off cooldown.
The first Thief would be turning tides, the second would be carried over.
And this is just on the skill department, then you have all the gear/sigil/rune/trait game to play.I didn’t really played theif, but from what you have wrote it just further solidifies my opinion of the lack of depth. I mean you drop a smoke screen to cover your group, that is not depth, that is just one use the ability has, the depth would come in if you could you smoke screen for several different things that would be equally important and you had to make a conscious choice on when you use it, not just ‘’o shi my team is taking damage, better drop smoke screen’‘, same thing with all the other skills you wrote, want to stealth rezz – shadow refugee, reflect projectiles – daggerstorm, romove debuffs – signet of agility, again I don’r really know what most of those abilities do, but from what you wrote it just proves my point, 1 ability has 1 use, 1 situation has one ability that deals best with it every single time.
Conscios choice, you mean like useing it to nagat incomeing dammage, or useing it when a player is downed and you need to get him up quickly
you also have to be aware of if your team has any blast finishers that will be going off and when would be the best time to use smoke screen in order to get the most effectiveniss out of it. Because a ranger with one of there long bow attacks can do a sucsetion of blast finishers stacking stealth Much higher.
also a quote> stuff people need to know
“Question three: The combo i want to do isn’t happening. What can i do to make it work?
Answer: In order to choose which effect you want lets look at the type of finisher being used. Projectiles will trigger off which ever field they go through first. So say player W laid down a Firewall then player H put a Smoke Screen right behind it then Player T fired a projectile through both those combo fields from side of the smoke screen player T would then cause a Blindness Combo not a Burning Combo. Blast, Whirl, and Leap all work off what ever combo field was laid out first on the ground. So if a water combo field was laid out after a fire combo field the group would gain 3 stacks of 20second might, not the area healing when a blast finisher was applied. However, if you look at their rings on the ground you can move character if possible to an area of the ground where the water combo field does not over lap then gain your desired effect.
Question Four: My Projectile and/or Whirl Finisher is not removing the conditions on me when i am in a Light Combo Field.
Answer: The removing condition portion does not affect you, but those whom your finisher passes through/ hits. GW2 is designed for group play this just one of the aspects of it that helps your team not you. "
It’s very time consuming and maybe not hardware friendly to have the highest of high quality animations for millions of players. That’s why you can’t compare. It’s 1 guy vs. thoustand of players.
It doesn’t matter one bit if it’s online, the client does the rendering same way as an offline game. Secondly, character animations don’t make rendering all that harder, every frame is redrawn with the character in a different pose anyway so it really doesn’t matter which sequence of poses is drawn.
It matter’s plenty when you have every player on screen
you think are problems with culling are bad now, just emagin if the animations were bumped up and a mid level PC had to Render all that stuff.
I do not believe you are actually people.
now every one don’t respond and this post might go away.
gw2 has lack of depth because you can beat anything by spamming auto attack
seriously, a no-cost no-cooldown skill that does the majority of your dps was a bad idea
I wouldn’t group with you. if thats how you play you must be slowing your team’s down alot.
Unless you dont do dungeon’s, than yeah auto attack away.
Typically in cases where one choice is undeniably superior to other choices in every situation, depth is shallow. If skill 2 does bigger damage than skill 1 and applies vulnerability too, the strategy of playing skill 2 whenever it comes off cooldown is the correct one. Since skills have high cooldowns, you can basically just play whichever is currently not on cooldown to maximize your damage output.
That’s the difference between a system with 30 skills, where each skill does exactly one thing, and a system with only 10 skills, where skills have multiple functions.
In the former, it’s a non-decision, the ‘skill’ required here is being able to read and understand the tooltip and remember what button you bound the skill to.
In the latter, you need to make the decision if you use the skill for its effect A now, or save it to use it for effect B in a few seconds. That of course only works if there actually are situations in combat where you really need effect B, but that’s a question of designing combat properly, not neccessarily the professions themselves. The functions of the skills themselves is something often overlooked when people talk about depth in this game (I overlooked it myself in responding). And it’s not just that a skill can be used for damage or something else, but that most skills are used for damage AND something else. Knowing when to activate it is key.
And then there are the skill states, which several skills possess. Even many auto-attack skills are more than just auto-attack because each sequential skill phase has the potential to do something different.
For instance the Mesmer scepter skill 1. The first two phases of the chain are straight up damage, but the third one summons a new clone, which could be a pivotal. Interrupting that chain could deprive the Mesmer of the third clone needed for a full shatter, which can be very detrimental. It might be smarter to wait a few seconds for phase 3 to execute, before activating another skill that has just come off cooldown, rather than punching it immediately.
Plenty of depth just in the skill design.
thats why i often compair GW2 CC more to a fighting game combo braker than i do your standerd MMO
A nice video about depth vs complexity in games.
i would say GW2 is has plenty of depth, it just isn’t overly complex. but some people love there math. shrug
Actually Colin posted in that thread with an update. It’s not Arenanet’s fault that you fail to do your due diligence and read his response.
You’re right, there was one response, 10 days ago. I started only periodically checking that thread because it went ignored for so long. Nevertheless, the point is, it took 2 months to get that ‘one’ response, and all the response says is “we’ve found nothing wrong. It’s in your heads, x-files level of conspiracy. We’ll look into it…” They flat out said in patch notes that vets and champs will be guaranteed to drop loot, and they clearly don’t. Is that x-files conspiracy too?
I’m glad I waited 2 months for that, I feel so informed and relieved. All the frustrated players still making new threads on loot and DR and rewards can now be ignored. It’s obviously not an ongoing problem or anything.
you know some of this stuff. although you may not like it, is working as intended over all.
gear and rune’s also help with your builds depth , much of that you never realy focus on much tell you reach level cap
I like the idea of stealth changes to the world. This has nothing to do with changes to mechanics, which should always be fully disclosed. But changes to the world itself, whether it’s geography, mob behaviour or events, are something I like stumbling into rather than have a tour map showing me where to find the new sites.
Prior to release, it’s something they said they would do, and it’s something I hope they follow through with.
That sounds like a nightmare to me. I would probably stop playing if they kept changing mob behavior, how are we supposed to fight if we can never know what’s going to happen? A bunch of game mechanics (AOE, dodge, etc) depend on timing and knowing what the animations mean.
That said, I know they’ve changed geography in Caledon Forest at least once before. Minor changes are OK, so long as they don’t cut off routes.
shoot from the hip. thats how i play most of my incounter’s all the info i need is on screen at that time.
If things have been changed enough that they’re easily noticed, it’d probably be a really good idea for them to let people know. But communication regarding patches has been a problem for quite a while.
Well if this has any thing to do with the live story this may be Working as Intended
The solution is to make the basic 1 attack more interesting.
If that was the case, then it’s fine that most of your weapon skills are situational and useless for general combat.ANet should take a lesson from action games like Devil May Cry or Dark Souls.
These games have special skills, but they arent the focus of combat, because the basic attacks are interesting and varied. For example, in DMC, by adjusting the timing of your attacks, you will get different combos with different tradeoffs.
hit-hit-hit-hit-hit will get you a normal attack sequence.
hit-hit-(pause)-hithithit will get you more damage but slower and more vulnerable.Stopping during a combo to dodge means you have to start from the beginning, and the later hits are more damaging, etc.
So if ANet removed “autoattack” and made the 1 attack something you have to consciously choose different options to use, then it wouldnt matter if the other skills are situational.
Dark Souls is another example. Each weapon only has 2 main attacks and some variations (eg. attack after a dodge, attack whilst running, etc.)
But mashing attack in that game gets you killed. The tension and choices in the game come from the balance between defense and offense. Attacking leaves you vulnerable, so you have to choose the right moment.Circling around to get the best position, slipping in and out of range, dropping your guard to tempt the enemy… Dark Souls gets a lot of mileage out of very few different moves.
The old-fashioned MMO method of loading you up with 20+ skills on 2 different bars, each with long cooldowns, is just a waste of development effort. It’s better to have short (or no) cooldowns, and a reasonable set of moves that make for interesting choices, tradeoffs and gameplay.
Just FYI some melee 1 skills already work like this. thats why i don’t us auto attack
and actualy have it set to one of my mouse keys
I’m surprised people still boast about questing in GW2. It seems like a clear case of the emperor’s new clothes.
I recently tried to pick up GW2 again and got instantly bored of collecting apples, trapping fish, and killings spiders. Removing a quest giver doesn’t suddenly make boring quests more interesting.
Tera: Horrible quest text, but combat makes the quest activities fun.
WoW: Bad quest text, but quest activities much more varied.
SWTOR: Great story cutscenes, but quest activities boring.
GW2: No quest text/bad story cutscenes, and boring quest activities.Add in that GW2 has the least amount of leveling progression (very few ability upgrades), I get bored faster than any other MMO I’ve played. I do want to hit max level eventually, and appreciate the lack of sub, but I can’t stand the leveling in this game.
Let me introduce you to the 5 D’s of questing: Deliver, Destroy, Defend, Drop, Discover. Wow has them, gw2 has them, there is nothing different, except for the odd bombing run or whatever in WoW. What seperates wow from gw2 is that gw2 got rid of some of the quest text and having to run back and forth to an npc.
Sure, but that’s an oversimplification. There clearly are games that have worse leveling than others despite having the “5 Ds”.
I still remember cool quests like the Titan quest chain in Stormpeaks, or the quest that has your invade Undercity alongside your faction champion. The activities that you did during those quests felt relevant to the universe.
There are alot of DE event chains though that are relevant to the universe, I feel you got to include events when you talk about questing in gw2. And talking to the NPC’s related to what you’re doing can have quite alot of text involved. But sure, epic quest lines like in WoW you won’t find in gw2. I too miss them sometimes.
I think in a wqay this is what the live story will be atempting to fill How ever we have yet to get into the real meet of the (vary first live story) so there’s no telling how that will go.
We stopped Gw2, that explain all.
We will come back for ladder and see how its going on~
You do relize you will be crushed by the high skill players that have still been playing right.
And gvg wasnt in guild war’s ay one.
We wont see any gvg type game untell guild halls and even then it wont be the same gvg as in gw1 because of how different the games are.
The majority of gw1 big gvg guilds will NEVER like it because there leet skills at gw1 matter little in GW2. (Hell my guild would probably stomp them easy if there not playing now do to are experience with the game)
If the game is so great why are you bored and trying other games OP?
I actually have the opposite experience. I bought MoP at XMas and didnt play it and I recently started leveling a monk. Dungeons are so much better in WoW than in this game its like night and day. The only thing that kinda sucks is with the lvl cap being so high now stats are kinda inflated thru the roof, I’ve seen a druid tank with 700k health buffed.
I personally dont really see a difference between reading hearts and reading quests.
I think TERA’s combat is better than GW2’s by a long way as well. The thing that ruins TERA is the terrible way they implemented PvP and the horrible crafting system.
I also think Secret World has a better questing and skill system then GW2 as well.
Dude siriusly i play skyrim and will be getting the ne aliens game, doesn’t mean i like gw2 any less. I make play dates on gw2 i log on all the freaking time and play with people. Some time’s some people like to switch it up from time to time. I have done this with every game ever. But GW2 is my go to never fail to entertan game.
Thay may still believe that but at the end of the day there still a business and there in it to make a profit. You may believe that people like you who want only horizontal are the majority but thats just not true.
I don’t see how they can make money from gear grind, on the contrary. Either way, I am not going to grind for gear in order to be able to play the only part of the game that has some lasting interest.a!
As is Anet is trying to compromise, giveing us new tears of gear but without forceing us to have them in order to do content.
The power difference is to great, you won’t stand a chance in exotics going against a player in ascended. And as it stands, ascended gear is too much of a grind to acquire.
Exactly.
The fact is if you compare 1 piece of exotic vs asended there is a small difference but ADD up all the differences between them in a full geared character and its quite huge.
No if people want a treadmill play ANY mmo. Maplestory does an amazing job with that. Or Perfect World.
I just wish that the game was still designed in a manor where its leaning towards casuals.
IMO legendary weapons for a person that plays an hour a day will take over a year maybe even 2 to get. If the time was lowered from 1000 hours to 250 to get on average then atleast the casuals -ones with jobs and schools and social lives would have a chance.
and yet i still kill people with ascended gear in wvw, not that it matters much because WvW is ment to be show and be bassed on the over all stringth of the sever.
So seeing that in in pve it dosnt matter how much stronger thay are than you because you can still do ALL THE CONTENT!
Sorry, with the gear grind comment I was referring to an article that first caught my interest
Quote from Mike O’Brien:
“Here’s what we believe: If someone wants to play for a thousand hours to get an item that is so rare that other players can’t realistically acquire it, that rare item should be differentiated by its visual appearance and rarity alone, not by being more powerful than everything else in the game. Otherwise, your MMO becomes all about grinding to get the best gear. We don’t make grindy games — we leave the grind to other MMOs.”Article: http://venturebeat.com/2012/05/21/guild-wars-2-interview-monetization/#s:guildwars2-16
It’s been so long, I forgot where I saw it originally. In any case, t’was all marketing hype. It read to me as horizontal progression. Sure there may be gear grind, but you were grinding for a better visual, not better stats.
Thay may still believe that but at the end of the day there still a business and there in it to make a profit. You may believe that people like you who want only horizontal are the majority but thats just not true.
As is Anet is trying to compromise, giveing us new tears of gear but without forceing us to have them in order to do content. At a slow rate with minnamul stat jump. NO other mmo dose it this way.
If match makeing is working as its ment to this will eventualy sort itself out.
Thing is for match makeing to work it needs to get data from the pleyers the only why it can get that data is if people play.
This is why all games that first come out that use match makeing start out with matchs that kinda suck with people that suck.
Evantualy though it gets better que times get faster and you matched with people that often play on your level
Good New’s Its being worked on. they talked alot obout it in the GW2 guru state of the game last night
Sos and TC it seems
the lack of “role” mean that bigger group dont really work to bring people together.
its not like “whos/ wheres the healer?” then you get to know the guy….
so basically, 5 men is better because everybody have some time to shine.
i like the lack of trinity, but it creates a void that is hard to replace.
i think this has more to do with the combat encounters than the lack of trinity.
Nice looking update.
One thing is a major, MAJOR concern to me: Guild missions. While guild content is needed, I sincerely hope that these missions do not increase your individual power. If completing a guild mission unlocks the ability to increase all representing guild member Power, Crit, etc by X amount, that is probably the last line I draw with the game.
With all of the “progression” that is being pumped into the game with ascended, laurels, wvw progression, etc…I think some clarification as to how Guild Missions would benefit a guild is needed. Are there raw power increases? Speed increases? Traveling benefits? While I am in a guild that is active, I do not want to feel obligated to complete guild missions every week, just to stay on par with other guilds.
Very worried.
not that any of this will happen ((as it seems it will only be gear skins and such,)) WHO CARES and frankly if a guild is willing to work hard why shouldnt they get reworded for it
Just like ascended gear, im willing to work for it. just because your not dosnt brake the game for you, you can still do EVERYTHING
True. I can do everything. Look down the road, 1 year from now. Full ascended sets. If I chose not to partake in fractals. If I chose not to complete all the dailys and monthlys I can…I have no way to get a full ascended set. I now try to hop into WvW where everyone has full ascended at this point in time. Trust me, those +2%, +5% power increases on each item…ADD UP.
Im not calling this patch the next doomsday or anything. I just don’t think this game needs any more power creep. And power creep/treadmills were not what this game was based on in all of the interviews and advertising.
Cosmetics only.
And no the interviews said you didnt need to grind to play all the content
as more acnedid come’s along there will be more ways to get it, they have already confirmed it will be in WVW at some point
do you thank Kelloggs for your Frosted Flakes too?
If Tony the Tiger delivered me a free box every month than ya probably
even if the toy sucked nod :P
Hold on a minute here…
Guild missions could be a massive amount of content. Ill try and find a source that mentions that there will be 5 mission types for guilds to interact with and setup (bear with me on that one). From the same anet quote it goes on to say something about other guilds and people being able to interact with the content at the same time aswell. This could potentially be huge missions that mimic say, world dragon champions, or a massive new shared jumping puzzle or zone wide scavenger hunt (NO, dont get your hopes up for precursors yet).
If this is the case then were talking about hitting several problems with one stone from Anets perspective – Incentive to revisit areas, guild PVE activities and generally exciting stuff for pve players.Brand new PVP map is something you would see within a major content update or paid xpac.
Achievements still being revamped – Would hope to see hero points and general achievements being addressed this patch, but prolly have to wait till march.
ALSO, january brought alot of fixes and tweaks that Anet never hyped us about OR we even expected. As that was stated to be a small patch in comparison to feb and marchs, i really dont think hope is lost and doomsday prophecies to be applicable yet.
Well I do hope at least the guild missions system is really kittening expansive, otherwise i will eating my words and coming closer to a negative mind state about this game and developer…. some might say finally.
Guild missions is probably the most unique and interesting feature on the list. Andit sounds VERY innovative. It sounds like your guild can start a mission in…Sparkfly Fen, for instance. Random low level players can join that mission as if it were a DE, without you inviting them in. Thats how I see this playing out. If it works out like that, WOW!!
Just concerned, obviously and again, about the rewards. Same concern with the WvW progression. I do not want certain aspects of this game to make you individually more powerful. They started down this slope with fractals and ascended gear and what a reaction that was. I hope that ascended gear is the end of it. I dont want any more power creeps or power boosts in any way in this game. Cosmetic only. Skins only. Marginal passive buffs(like magic find) only.
this will also make an AWESOME way for active guilds that work together to get goles done to recrute more people into there ranks
Is this finally the “Raid” content we’ve been looking for? Will guilds finally be able to have a purpose? Discuss…
For goodness sake, lets hope not. Anything resembling a traditional raid and I’m just going to quit. There are already MMO’s in existence that force raiding on you and I won’t do it anymore.
How does your guild not have a purpose? Our guild is always in a party doing something.
As far as this update, I see nothing interesting. They are giving us WoW’s arena, which I hated in that game and won’t play in this game. If they continue to WoW clone, people will quit. Why give duplicate content already available in another game?
PvP, blah. I prefer PvE.
Time will tell, but they aren’t going to get a whole lot more time out of me.
well Areana style game play is WAY older than wow and its one of the most sucseful. not to mantion the way combat works in GW2 isnt the same as WOW so the dynamic of the arena will be different just because of that
but your not a pvper any way so what do you know
