Now that we’ve been given the three promised specs (as announced in tentonhammer website), what do you guys expect to come next? As much as I want to be optimistic, I think we’ll get something very minor like a single race lore (like the frogs), or some sort of “here’s a list of what we’re planning, you will only get the very raw idea but no information whatsoever”. Or maybe nothing, and the live game as well as the news page will be silent for a week.

But dude, if you’re too far from others they won’t be able to listen to you.
Why blame zerk meta and lack of trinity? Bad dungeon design is bad.
I’m leaning towards this thought as of recently. Sometimes I get a bitter feeling that dungeon team didn’t work whatsoever with combat team, but that would be a major internal testing flaw! They need to be tightly integrated. If the dungeon was designed to offer proper difficulty, people would bring zerker all they want, they WOULDN’T succeed if they didn’t play the mechanics correctly. Simple like that. Wipe all night long until playing as intended.
There MUST be options when facing challenges, but if you faceroll them all with zerker, then I have to agree with you. Bad dungeon design.
I love all projectile-blocking skills coming up, but I’d like ele to be able to give allies passive buffs like Ranger’s Spotter trait. Actually I’d love if it was some sort of bard.
I have to agree. They’ve made a lot of pointless “adjustments” and “buffs”, and nerfed many integral part of many rotations. We are really with leftovers… I believe that, they should fix some core aspects of the class before delving deep into specializations. Obviously the same goes for our fellow necromancers.
It’s interesting, but I’m not convinced. I’m concerned about slow attacks in modes outside of PvE.
I believe that, in its core, the elite spec will be slow, but you could be able to integrate quickness into the build to help speed up a little bit. Not that you will be able to overcome the natural slow speed 100% of the time, but still… that’s a thought.
HOLY KITTEN HOLY KITTEN! >_>
REAPER IS AS kitten AS CAN BE! (At least visually)
@Edit
The wiki has already filled everything shown under Reaper article!

Do fractals. All ascended chests have Wupwup (Celestial) prefix. I almost fully geared my elementalist simply doing fractals. The coat came from ambrite collection, and I crafted the leggings.
i dont think you’re the honest guy here, this bug isnt THAT public
you just want to know if you can sell this to people and dont have to worry about the reports, so dont come here acting all “poor me i got invited to some bug exploiters party ohno!” while you’re the culprit
asside from that, it is already being clearly stated that if you exploit bugs to make profit out of it, or to skip core content (wich is exactly what u do here) not the way the developers intented repeatedly you will get perma ban…
Wow, someone judging out of thin air a legit question. Can’t get any more pathetic.
Check attachment. It displays the effect sometimes sideways, sometimes flipped, etc…
I fully support largos as a playable race, they’re awesome, and more b@d@ss than charr.
New Weapons; Require specialization slotted?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

They said that the new weapons are exclusive to the elite spec that introduced them. So, no Chrono, no shield.
They didn’t say whether we will be able to choose 2 or more elite specs (at the same time) in the future, though, and it’s too early to discuss that.
I’d argue this could bring up too many different and maybe unpredictable builds leading to a balance pandemonium. So yeah, I don’t believe you will ever be able to equip two elite specs at the same time.

Elite specialization is weapon and trait locked. It’s essentially a specialization (former “trait line”) plus a weapon.
Sorry sorry! Been busy working to implement everything!
Soon I’ll be busy deploying everything
No problem! I hope you have time to read the posts. Keep up the great work, sir!
Am I the only one who doesn’t like the concept of conjured weapons?
Whatever for the damage, give stability/protection for the duration of the skill, and reflects projectiles, and weakens foes, and whatnot, give it a hell of usability as a Tornado should have yeah! ANet fix this thing.
Now that Jon Peters told us he plans to change one of the guardian tomes, namely one of the tome’s most powerful skill, Light of Deliverance, may become a signet, it just shows how they don’t care about elementalist elites…
I think I’ve scared Lawton. No posts since my last post on skills CDI. ;_;
Maybe cross-post this to the lore forum?
I’m not sure if this belongs in “lore” or “game” and it’s less likely to get completely buried in the “lore” forum, though I don’t know that devs go there. :/
I see. I have tried posting this before, but got no answers, so I’m hoping Gaile sees, or something from the writing/art team. ^^
ArenaNet should create something similar to Wildstar’s PATHS, and build it in the game in GW2-style.
1) Alphabetical order. We know Chronomancer -> Dragonhunter -> Druid?
From this progression, Druid would be a fitting guess. So we gonna see Warrior next if his Specialization is “Dragonslayer”
Enough of Dragon*. >.<
It’s been a while now… no one is asking for nothing actually “new”, but re-rolling some seasonal content would be nice. People are repeating vanilla content to death by now.
I bought a new motherboard compatible with the CPU… but my new case will be a mid tower (Phantom 410), hope everything fits well in there! :P
Hi guys! So I’ll be upgrading my CPU very soon. I bought an i5 4440, and my current one is i7 860 (eww hahah). My graphics card is a GT 240 (also ewww). I have a question: will my new CPU alone perform better than current setup (CPU+videocard)? I will upgrade my videocard later to a GTX 970, just wanted to check how well enough my new CPU alone will run GW2!
Thanks for all the help.
So, we’re having a discussion in the wiki about changing races’ banners there. The reasoning for current banner designs are mostly about how they “feel” right, and how community is used to them, but since Pale Tree’s World Summit chapter we saw different design on each flag when every leader approached Omphalos Chamber entrance.
So, my question is: are these designs official? Is ArenaNet going to use them from now on? We’d like an official response so we can stablish new designs for the wiki aswell.
Thanks for the help!

So I was randomly reading posts in gw2 reddit and found an art post, went to the artist’s deviantart page and I was overwhelmed by the quality of his work! So, I thought I’d share it here!
PS.: ANet could borrow a few ideas from his environment works. I fell in love with the concepts.
Well yeah, the name could be “Dragon Knight”. The dragon part actually feels a bit… “uh?”
I’ve noticed for the RNG tables in general beyond just portals a lot of players who don’t play for long periods of time tend to get better drops…
I’d like to see a proper formula attached to a loot table. (Akin to Ratemyserver for ragnarok) otherwise I’m going to believe in th growing conspiracy that: play less = good loot -> keeps new an flighty players playing. <- balanced out economy via the rest of the players who can possibly buy the good stuff form accumulated gold.
Guy plays all year: 1 random exotic drop per month… Guy comes back year later, after going back to WoW: precursor in a month… :/ (back when crafting was the fastest way to 80.) sells it maxes a toon they never played, only to leave 3 months later, only to come back again and get ANOTHER precursor…
That being said I have a portal and am against the current system.
To add to the list of drop options I’d love to see some PvP options. I’d say r80 but Prob a little to much of that now… But how about anyone who has held top 500 on LB for multiple months? or maybe a certain amount of QP from the old system?
Fake. I played more specifically in the weekend, but my playtime is quite limited.
It’s simple:
Newsletter subscription= chance
Portal drop= guaranteed
Previous beta slots= wiped, you have to either be selected from the subscribers or drop a portal.
I hate the fact that those bags can’t be compacted as a whole because of rarity-based items grouping. -_-
Nice days of old k-train in Orr! Only few people had legendaries.
What about only being a subscriber? Do we still got a small chance? I gave up on trying to drop a beta portal, I’m levelling an alt now, so I’m hoping I at least have a chance for having signed up for the newsletter.
This thread is awesome, thanks for bringing up the situation, Gaile!
I have a question for the colorblind players: does “font” really help in any way? or being able to change the text COLOR is enough? do letters become easier/better to read if you change its “shape” (through font styles for example)?
but reward you in some way for having members of your party who are running more tankier or healer type builds.
U wot m8?
Maybe give different rewards for no one going into down state during a fight, or killing a boss in a shorter amount of time.
This sounds a lot better.
Criteria-based rewards is a really awesome idea seen in many MMOs. To an extent, it just comes to my mind the PvP Leaderboards, you’re ranked differently depending on some variables in place (how “well” you fight, your own ranking, your team’s ranking, etc). The “how well” is something PvE should borrow from PvP. They could make temporary statistics for that dungeon run to determine more stuff, like enhancing one’s odds at getting more T6, or gaining a cool buff (10min. -5% condi duration?) for the next difficult boss.
PvE definitely should be more complex, or have more variables to play a role in overall gaming experience.
