I wish puncture shot would be changed to inflict cripple on enemies who turn their back on you, this way I could chase the runners
oh welp, it was fun as long as it lasted, will be remembered
pic related, me posing victorious with the remains of a thief in the background who killed himself on Hunter’s Determination :D
Don’t believe him, true shot in wvw dont crit that much…8k max with 25 bloodthirst.
This was on a Necro iirc, no bloodlust stacks. Can’t confirm might stacks, but only available sources for them were Might of the Protector and F1
Take into account that this was maybe undegeared underleveled char.
No, the necro was level 80. It was a 1v1 just outside of mill which I barely survived.
This however was on an upscaled elementalist:

Maybe they are saving it for a future elite spec, known as “Fastdude” (because he runs fast) who will have an elite skill that provides him a passive 25% movement speed increase?
Ok bad jokes aside, maybe they seriously live with the outdated idea that Guards should not move fast unless they use up important utilities or weapon slots for swiftnekittenequiring to stand still…
cry more :D
1) Get runes of the Trapper
2) Trait Monk’s focus and Smiter’s Boon
3) Slot a trap, can start fight with Purification and Fury now
4) Gain stealthed True Shots :D
5) Get nerfed D:
I thought the range for Pure of Sight was 360 but I’m not sure now
Better adapt now OP, in 2 weeks they will come and stay forever, continuing to reck you
Well OP is right, can’t see why people would disagree, hard hits should have clear visuals and not look like an autoattack, Ranger longbow #4 was changed and all…
Played biggest Norn male myself, anyways the skill has such a low cooldown it’s easy to retry even if they would dodge the first True Shot
e: was on zerker build roaming and was critting other zerkers for ~5-7k, sometimes over 8k

Traps are situational, but not bad. With the new F3 and traps you gotta really adapt and play completely differently than earlier
Mediroaming is really fun, love it when players think kiting works in their favour
You walked into a berserker geared DH trap wearing full berserker?
Afaik players were able to get +20 secs of quickness with the skill, not working as intended
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sylvari_cultural_armor#Bioluminescence
There’s a list of the Sylvari culturals that glow in the dark, just like their skin and hair does. If you got a makeover kit you can toggle the lightning there to show off the glow effect
I see, thank you. However I do hope it has a skill type even though it means it will be nerfed; it should be an exception of the rule on all skills (oh maybe it is because I am a programmer).

Josh DavisShelter will not be getting a skill category. It would probably need to be adjusted in someway if we did do it – and it’s fine where it is right now.
I’m ok with it, it’s a good skill that is used on almost all builds now and I would rather not getting it buffed and then be nerfed again or even worse, completely reworked
I dunno about you guys, but I logged in, rubbed my shield all over my face, pressed 4 and 5 multiple times and said to myself “we soooo deserve thisssss” …. no…. just me? >_>
Nah I did the same thing, spent like 30 mins running around spamming #5
It’s… beautiful!
Guess there is a reason why Druid Staff attacks are supposed to be Solar but blue instead of white’yellow/golden, maybe it was intended to be a Guardian thing and they decided to switch in early conception?
Now that you mentioned it, this started to disturb me a bit; until now they have stayed very true to their classes colour schemes
You can shoot it through the enemy, it can crit nicely on hit and then detonate it right behind him for a second hit, but I agree it’s actually hard to hit your (moving) target or ally with it
- All attributes gained from traits in the earlier system were removed
- Base stats were buffed
- Instead of picking from 5 different trait lines and getting unwanted attribute points (like condition damage on your power build for example) and having your points spread out and sacrificing a lot for just to get 1 minor trait to your build you now only pick 3 lines (like 6/6/6), they also merged, reworked or made baseline some traits. Some of them need a bit of reworking still.
I assume the wheels you are talking about is the unlocking part of utilities and traits. Your goal in that wheel is just to unlock them so you can use them. If you have enough points just unlock them all immediately, if not, logically unlock the ones you will be using
edit: mods merging threads without a good reason can make some posts look really out of place.

What about stealthed players that attack into a Block or the enemy Evades, shouldn’t the attacker be ‘spotted’? ;)
Simple, if it doesn’t have a beard then it’s not a Guardian
They could had done it like this and they didn’t.
In fact i never played a game which is so human biased like this one.
in tera however human is my least favored race.
I use to chose magic races in games but
i play here only asura and human because the rest is so boring.
Tera and its playerbase is so kittening creepy…
I don’t use WoR in most of my builds, so I don’t have that issue. But I understand what you’re saying. WoR and Sanctuary are better off as ground targeted skills.
But Purging Flames and Hallowed Ground are usually part of a melee build, where you want them centered on you probably 90% of the time. And QoL is subjective, which is why a hotkey/setting for instacast at your feet is the best solution.
I still feel like Purging Flames is better with Ground Targeting, I can throw it under myself if I need the cleanse, I can now throw it at my allies who are a distance away from me so I don’t need to walk up to them and throw it and now I can also pressure a kiter with low health with it if I’m sure I don’t need the cleanse. I’m talking about support builds for group play, both small and big ones, the ground targeting is great.
It is subjective indeed and that’s why I’m agreeing with a hotkey/setting option. I feel a bit stupid now, I don’t know what I was even disagreeing with you about anymore, should probably remove them
You are a pvper debating with a pve’er. They won’t understand
Isn’t it still in current PvE dungeons where you stand in a stack? If anywhere then it’s in PvE you want your consecrations under your feet. Dunno where you drew your conclusions from
Strongly disagree with what? Providing more options to players?
You are right though, this was a change that reduced QoL for a lot of players. An unfortunate side effect of the trait changes.
It improved QoL, the only thing I agree with is having an option or keybind where you can instacast under you. Ground tageting is far superior, you don’t need to run straight into a bunch of red aoes to place your wall now.
You can practice with Line of Warding if placing your WoR is too hard
Strongly disagree, don’t take away a QoL-change.
So OP’s first post on the forums is a picture of materials he has been stocking up, surely not an attempt to get their prices to go up so he can sell them for profit?
Both traits should proc at the same time. The idea is that when you take Hunter’s Determination you take it instead of Retaliatory Subconscious. Isn’t it better to pick Hunter’s Determination + Unscathed Contender (+20% more dmg while under the effect of Aegis)?
You are right, Unscathed Contender would give an easy + 30% damage increase together with Pure of Sight (+10% when enemy outside of range treshold) Not complaining, other damage modifiers also exist in both of those trait lines
Q: How will Hunter’s Determination (Aegis and Trap when controlled) function when Retaliatory Subconscious (Aegis and Retaliation when controlled) is traited at the same time?
Will they collide or will we be able to, say: get CC → proc one of traits → get aegis → get aegis removed → get CC again → proc second trait OR will both be on cooldown straight after the first CC and we should make sure we never pick both traits at the same time?
I can play with a shiny handsome Guardian OR an overrated smelly walking corpse, of course I’ll continue playing my Guardian(s). I’ll force boons down my allies throats even if they wouldn’t want them
Logged in just to say well done
Oh my god this thread is terrible to read, maybe a total of one or two guys understood what OP was talking about.
I roam alone, ty, have my share of duels now and then, still think you are stupid
You will have your dueling in Guild Halls, if you are so stupid you duel in the current game near objectives instead of isolated places, you deserve to die and get ganked good, Nyta especially
Okay, I thought I was going crazy when everything has the same.
Well the arrows look a bit cooler now :D
Did they forget to add the DH changes..?
I think it was said that they will not be implemented this weekend yet, but in the next one
- Puncture Shot (LB #1) still refuses to co-operate with you if the enemy is slightly on your side or behind you, your character won’t turn around/fire
- Deflecting Shot (LB #3) can’t be shot backwards
- Symbol of Energy can’t be (LB #4) placed behind you
- The increased projectile speed really makes a huge difference, but it seems to get a lot of “out of range” or “obstructed” even when the enemy is close and on flat ground.
- F2 heals and crits really nicely. #2 is nice, the cost of rooting is small compared to how often you can shoot it and crit nicely
I’m starting to enjoy DH a lot
Make shield #4 crit as hard as thrown torch #4 or blasted focus #5 and I will definitely be using it on roaming powermedi. Unfortunately Robert Gee posted on the Mesmer forums saying that shields in general aren’t designed to do high dps.. Sadface
Glad people have formed an opinion about the new map before it is even released and they have spent some actually time playing it. Where can I get a time machine to try the future out?
The time machine was called “WvW Desert Borderlands Stress Test”
If it wouldn’t be competing with Smiter’s Boon I would definitely be using it, just prefer the Smite on heal
oh dog, please no, i would be okay with removing rewards altogether from wvw if that is what is required to keep farmers/exploiters in PvE or eotm
Staff #1 is 600 radius too, imagine if Greatsword would actually have that. :P The spin will hit in 130 radius and is best used by standing within your targets hitbox
I think they both have their pros and cons
Well I can’t disagree with that. I said what I wanted to say :)
It’s mostly the cast-time that kills the romance between me and it. Also the 2s of theoretical incoming blockable conditions/power damage (and all skills/traits that triggers on outgoing damage or crits in favour for the enemy) feels invaluable to me on Shelter, even with the risk of getting interrupted and getting it on full cooldown, it will still trigger Smite Condition when traited
“Berserker is actually the direct opposite of Reaper from a thematic perspective. The Reaper is a slow, methodical, character based around chill while the Berserker is a fast, wild character with a focus on burning.”
:o
