To be honest i like necro wells but compared to the traps on other classes where you put them down instant recharge even if it hasn’t been triggered it kind of sucks. Then you may say “Well mesmer has wells” yes agreed but.

I wouldn’t say change it to 15 but at least 25 second minimum maybe. Or if keeping them long then extend the time on the wells for a few extra seconds for more pulses.

Edit note: Where the heck is the necro Well Elite skill? Kind of messed up it doesn’t have one.

Wells are all awesome, even if necro lack the elite well:
-Don’t have to be triggered, unlike traps
-Can be casted from range, unlike traps
-All wells make a field
-Are all unblockable

It’s only that unlike mesmers necro lack survivability skills and necro’s wells are mostly offensive.

The only “broken” part of traps is the time they last, same dumb thing as marks.
A change is needed: make lasting skills like traps and marks go into a lesser cd when triggered, where the lesser CD = 1/2 full CD
Obviously only if the skill is fully recharged..

So right now I am more or less running this build in PvP. Was just wondering, with the changes to greatsword, how viable would it be to swap out staff for greatsword? Was thinking it would help more against Thieves and Warriors and maybe generate life force better.

Not with Wanderer’s Amulet.
If you want to use GS for blind you can pick Well of Darkness (no pls)
If you want to use GS for boon corrupt you can pick Well of Corruption

To counter Thieves and Warriors you should try to run terrormancer, sending back skull fear (skill stolen from necromancer) and corrupting stability/fury
(stability > fear; fury > blind)

The best glider’s skill, it really shine when you are in need of CC.
Useful when paired with Dogfight or Flight to avoid the first champions attack and then damage their defiance bar, or just to obliterate white mantle seekers.

For Lake Doric usage.. when a man with a Unstable Magic Volley meets a man with a Jade Cannon, the man with a Jade Cannon is a dead man.

Please allow 5 man queue.

Allow team queue and make a enable/disable option, like conquest and stronghold for unranked, so we can join with our team to face another team or some pugs that have team queue option marked.

If your party member don’t have team queue marked you can’t join ranked match.
You want to join as duo queue? Your team could be duo+trio, 2duo+solo or duo+3solo
You want solo only teams? Enjoy your high afk risk pug.

Single target immobilize in a Dagger (melee) it’s ok:

Maybe dagger need a life siphon buff like 2 condition transfer with the last pulse

AoE immobilize in Axe (ranged) weapon it’s OP:
you can camp one weapon that have burst and keep foes away from you

What i really find broken / bugged about this trap is that you cannot blink out of it without taking damage. It really make no sense that i can roll over it and be all fine but i cannot teleport outside of it

Because shadowsteps aren’t actually ports that teleport you from point a to b instantaneously without crossing terrain like mesmer portal. Shadowsteps must cross terrain so they are affected by all skills that are ground based (rings, walls, etc).

Also Flash Wurm is a shadowstep?
The last time i’ve tried to teleport out of the trap i’ve taken damege from ToF ring.
Can’t talk for Spectral Walk, i rarely use it.

Like spirit beastmaster ranger and turret engineer, the MM necro can just sit under trees, where the spawning time its lower, and farming drops and karma killing mobs thanks to Karmic Retribution (see karma to gold).
They also afk-farm at Ember Bay (after gaining the magic finding bonus) where the Sloth Feeder escort begin, killing the rolling devils while safely standing above a stone.

You see more necromancer because minions don’t die and keep better aggro.
Sadly, the reaper’s GS trait is picked only for Nightfall auto-attack while afk farming..

Its not needed but if 1 class can give a chunk of it then thats pretty good as its extra dmg for the whole group and its in the form of debuffing the enemy. The thematic of necro. Actually ot would be cool if neco had a sametrait as tempest which madebtheir vuln stronger.

Insane vulnrability generation with only one tradeoff: your damage.

Because stacking duration increases damage per second. Pretty easy to understand. Not blowing all your burns quickly and spacing them out is how itl be effective. Teammates reapplying burns is how the dmg will keep going up to a capped amt of dmg.

How much damage one does shouldn’t really matter in team play if the target still dies. Just makes it less cheesy for both the attacker and the defender.

Ok, so if someone is jumping and just hit the enemy to deal no damage it’ll be fine if his mates will kill the target? So wise..

Engineers have access to more conditions then just burning. If anything theyl be able to keep burns up the most. Gaurdians as well, but they have extra utility when it comes to their burn skills so it makes up for it.

I mean, its basically what we already have. Blinds, Aegis, Blocks, Invulns etc. Power misses and is negated by a lot of things in this game.

Not even sure why you guys keep saying they will deal no damage when they add duration ontop of the already burning stacks. 4 seconds of burn would basically be 1.2k dmg, constantly going up by intervals every second. Basically what we have now but with more counterplay to counter condition spam in pvp. The “me me me” mentality is ridiculous these days.

And the other Engineer condition deals a lot of damage, right? Burning guardians kill with burn, not with Blinds, Aegis, Blocks.. if the enemy isn’t a noob and know that with great blocks comes great burning stacks.
What’s the point in stacking 24 hour condition to deal the same damage?

i fight in wvw vs some warriors and for a 1 min fight was 0 damage 0 cindition his life never drop down and was gave me 2 shoots most with hammer and i was dead 2700 thougness nomad stats on me. So my question is is that a bug or really warrior can do that?

Also some player told me that was like 4 vs warrior and for a litlle they could not kill him, imo is a bug somewhere since i try it my warrior diferent builds but i cant find this superman build.

Were the other players full nomad aswell? This can be the answer.. jokes aside, there are some skills that makes warrior immune from damage and others from condition, but they don’t last for too long (vs direct damage always 4 sec while vs condition can be affected by boon duration).

You have always dealt 0 damage or the warrior was recovering health?

-remove chill and immobilize. There is enough cc and gw2 has a dynamic combat so movement is an essential part.
-remove passive ticks on confusion again and increase on-cast-damage.
-lower or remove damage on torment when not moving

And most importantly: add a godkitten cc timer.

So basically make classes unkitable and destroy reapers and mesmers..

No I say that cripple is enough of a cc. Replacing chill with cripple wouldn’t destroy anything.
Okay… A bit of immo may be acceptable. But only as a well timed cc. 2 sec would be the absolute maximum that is acceptable. Not something like 5000hrs binding roots.

Lol, i can see when all the chill reaper traits will proc with cripple, the age of MM condi build with Bone Fiend, Flash Golem, Greatsword, Scepter and.. Warhorn

Of course the traits would have to be adapted… Man do I always have to write a wall of text with every little detail? =(
OK.. Let’s make chill the same as cripple but keep the condition and traits. Sounds easy enough.

Reaper’s Shroud 4 (soul spiral) should just deal raw damage, maybe apply vulnerability instead of poison, but have its base damage increased.

You know that poison it’s more useful than vulnerability and that another useless vulnerability stacking ability isn’t needed, right?
And think about other games mode.. Poison in pvp is a threat while vulnerability even on the downed is just a joke.

true but in ove poison is meh unless they intoduce encounters in fractals or raids where denying healing is very importand.

Yea but at least it does damage. Most fights in PvE are so short that the extra damage from vuln won’t mean anything, because the fight will be over before it has a chance to add up to anything significant. Which means that objectively, poison would be better in most PvE situations than yet another way to apply vuln

ehh in tier 4 boss fight aint over that fast and esp 100 cm and on a 5 man group stacking 25 vuln isnt as kitten easy as it is on 10 man raids so idk.

Have you ever heard of classes needed to achieve 25 vuln stacking in pve content?

necros can stack heaps of bleeds with high toughness and vit(and an extra hp bar), if they were squishy I wouldnt have a problem with it.

toughness + vitality combo is the culprit, i wonder why such amulet’s stat aren’t allowed in pvp.
Vitality+Toughness+Condition make WvW the “3.5 version” of pvp.

Stop addressing blame to the infamous “second health bar”, if necromancers could use their life force to evade attack you’ll see people start blaming evades..
Shroud can shield you from damage but if you don’t try to avoid damage while in shroud you’ll often find yourself stomped.

This can be done at range and the exact culprit of this is deathly chill with earth/ice sigils in combination with a high precision build, bleed on crit traits, and Necromancer axe 2.

Right now there isn’t too much of a defense on this outside of berserker stance resistance on warrior or diamond skin/immortal WET tempest. Due to how rapidly the bleeds stack, you can easily one shot someone who doesn’t have a full clear.

While I see this as less problematic in WvW (necros can’t really escape and are committed to fights), in SPVP is a massive issue due to having to fight them on point.

Necromancer is very powerful in SPVP right now running the Procmancer Axe build because they can instant kill you with three skills: Axe 2, Scythe 5, and Scythe 2. If you get hit by any of these during a CC or without a clear your dead beyond dead.

I would rate this worst than warrior arc divider spam. Warriors are at least more predicatable, because when they rage you know you need to pop CDs or die (this is also problematic because warrior rage mode is pretty much a free capture point steal due to how much of the circle arc divide covers). With Axe 2, its so hard to see coming.

I’ll be very glad to see our Axe with reflectable projectile if the Warrior’s trait allow only the shield’s block to reflect projectiles + endure pain turned to a stunbreak + 4 seconds of block

It’s really frustrating to be fighting a necromancer then have him do some ranged sign language with his axe that has no projectile animation to stack 25 bleed you and instantly end the fight.

Isn’t necromancers always marked? You only have to kill it once, then always fcus the necro when i respawn with low life force.

Best build for open world pve stuff?

Unfortunately, Necro isn’t a very good OW class to being with, because shroud has little use in OW and many traits are hard to place because they are focused on shroud in numerous lines.

Heretic! You only have to use cruelty sigil for the first 25 kills (you’ll love pocket raptor & co.) to make shroud work better then any other OW class. Not everyone can get near istantly 25 might and 100% crit chance.

The wells are godsend: you can cast it and then go into Reaper’s Shroud. They can kill mob and recharge Shroud’s ability via Reaper’s Onslaught.

With Superior rune of the Guardian you burn the foe you block

If you frequently block you need something to attack fast to use your Justice proc..

With maximum power and ferocity, if the crit it’s capped, power necros gain more benefit from vitality and toughness for the conversion to ferocity (nourishment).

Toughness it’s more useful to tank, you can get power from toughness from death magic line (tankier but not competitive damage wise) but more health let you have better scholar uptime and.. more life force.

Just a thing: full exotic berserker only give you 42,57% crit (in the panel)

the mm bunker typically takes death magic, typically they take the trait transfers condis on hit

Something like a power version of Fear and Terror? This can help power but will kill condi. What about Making Terror working on fear and chill when the necro is 600 range near the target?

Something like

(0.2 * Power Damage)+(0.2 * Condition Damage) + 444; 33% less if target has no other conditions.

Instead of

(0.4 * Condition Damage) + 444; 33% less if target has no other conditions.

If picked it’s less survival from Vital Persistence, wich is one of the bringer of “immortality” at non-necro eyes.

my Condition buid that make use of mob’s condition to heal or sent it back, I always use it in Ember Bay.
Take “Rise!” if you want to.. “Suffer!” less damage.

Death Magic: Putrid Defense – it’s situational and share the tier with better traits

Blood Magic: Quickening Thirst – speed is locked after a specific weapon with situational CD reduction
