Is it just me or is there really no nerf to Heartseeker spammers?
Or i a skill that provides the fastest movement in game + highest dmg + stealth
with ultra low initiative cost not OP? :othey dont need a nerf. Hs spammers are so easy to kill its not an issue.
Well, now that we have solo Q i guess i will only be playing tournaments anyway.
However 50% of the people in hot join play thief, 1v1 against HS spammer easy. When 2+ of these dudes come out of stealths near you, you will die, fast. No matter how skilled, no matter what class.if 1 thief can barely kill on ele and will surely die to 2 eles no doubt about it, why should 1 ele survive 2 thieves? (or any other profession for that matter)

err… wasn’t that the hole point for these change? A-net stated that the the dual / triple queued teams would face each other due to the matchmaking system. So what you are suggesting IS actually the reason why this is being implemented in the first place.

There is no matchmaking in Hot Join (PvP Browser) matches. Matchmaking only exists in tournament matches, and it is based on your rating (a hidden value), not your Rank.
Why a hidden value?! not sure about every one else but I would like to know were I’m standing in the matchmaking system…
I’ll work all day then come home, take the dog out for a walk, cook dinner, take a shower, eat dinner, play with my daughter before she goes to bed and THEN I’ll log in to try out the new map and for some wvwvw with my guild.
About Eles do not expect major nerfs! They will be tooned down but not as much as you hope they will. I’m a thief and there as been whining about us since beta and although most people would like us to be nerfed to the ground that never happened thieves were tooned down but always maintained viability. That’s what I expect ele wise.

I don’t remember any fixes being made to stealth and still this bug came out of no ware…
hi, I play e thief and although i had seed this bug before, it became more and more constant since last patch.
Some times wen I’m in stealth, my character is very visible to me, the only way to know if im actually in stealth to other players is by looking for the stealth boon.
Normally it is not a big issue but in complicated fights i sometimes get the impression that I’m stealth when I’m not.
This usually happens when using a shadowstep ability wile in stealth or stealthing right after a shadowstep.
Is a fix for this coming out any time soon?
A-net made it very clear that thieves will be supporting the carrier or hunting down the enemy carrier.
Every profession can use they’re skills without losing the orb except the thief so… it cant be clearer than that!
Imo this new map will be like this:
1 – Enter map
2- Pop up the score / team UI
a) Our team has at least 1 ranger or ele, stay and fight!
b) Our team has no ranger nor ele -> leave map and enter a different one.
UNLESS something is done about rangers and eles on the same patch the map comes out.
aw well nothing we can do just sit back and wait for it.
Edit. Im ok with thieves be terrible orb carriers, as a thief, the last thing i wont is to be focused on anyway.

I stopped reading at “…me and a ranger…” if you were with a ranger and still got owned the you deserved it since you got outplayed.
Rangers have traps / AE / channeled abilities, you need nothing else to kill a stealthy speced thief. You had the tools, got outplayed.
I hope you learned something from this and play better nextime.
As a thief here i cant help but to laugh at this.
For months and months on a row, every one and they’re dog was whining about the thieves, now for the last 2 weeks ppl changed target… and there was chaos.
“Eles are fine just tweak the aoe range” “ranges are fine just do… whatever tweak” LoL its a pain to be the target of everyones rage innit? now you know how it feels to be a thief for the last, what?! 6 month?
Remember this moment the next time you decide to jump on the thieves forums crying out loud for nerfs!

I play a thief as main, i cant tell you how to play your class cuz my Mesmer is lvl 14ish
but i can tell you how i behave wile in HJ’s
As i very erll know the power of a backsteb build, I’m NEVER static, if im caping a point I stay in the circle but moving around and turning, they need to be behind you to deliver the burst and if they miss it the following bursts are alot less deadly.
I Have played many many builds and different weapon combos, and the BS build is the one i disliked the most due to its unexistent (and intened) survivability. i play a “tanky” control build atm with D/D + SB that relies on stealthing as often as i can and delivering small bursts (3-4k) in between stealths wile chain blinding my opponent.
versus a BS thief i do the following (again as a thief, you guys need to use what you have):
1- He came out of no were, didn’t see him arrive and i get petrified (Basilisk Venom), i got 3 tools that i can use to avoid the bust.
a) Steal + dodge – it brakes any CC and dodge is your friend
b) blinding powder will blind the thief and make him miss the BS and stealthed me at the same time.
c) Shadowstep utility will also brake the CC and teleport me to a safe distance.
If i don’t have any of the above available, he kills me whitch is fair or he lives me with a very low HP pool allowing me to stealth and run away to regain health.
I do not believe this build needs nerfing since by doing so the OTHER builds that depend on BS as main dmg dealer (like my own) will become powerless because as i mention before my BS hits for 3-4k crit it BS gets tuned down this build will fall as many others.
the 10 point trait Mug is in deed very strong for a mere 10 points, it should get its dmg adjusted (not hammered to the ground)…
I hope this helps, now you need to look at the stun brakes available to your profession and do not be a siting duck asking to be insta killed…. stay mobile and try not to have your back facing the same direction for long…
I like it as it is, is you run out of its “return” range and use shadow return it will port me 12.000 in the direction of the “return” point just not all the way to it because of being out of range.
its better that way then to not return at all if not in range!
Actually there is a subtile animation when you hit a stealthy target.
If you your paing attention you will see a black shadowy smoke circuling around the stealthed target when you hit him. It’s the same effect as when a thief shadowsteps but just the smoke (no thief in the middle).
It is subtile but it’s there if you pay attention!

Hi, I’m a PvP focused player and this is how i feel about the current state of Gw2
First of all, I honestly enjoyed playing this game but the thing is I was sold a PvP focused game aiming for e-sport, also with a dynamic world for those how want to to PvE.
Dueling is a must have feature on any PvP game so that people can train with friends to learn how to counter a specific professions or builds, something simple (imo) that should have been in game since launch and wasn’t and hasn’t been yet and there is no ETA for it to be implemented… is it really that hard?!
We hear allot of talk from devs saying “you will see” “were doing amazing things” “it will come soon” “we give PvP more impontance that you think” and so on but the PvP in Gw2 got boring really fast due to the same game mode in all maps and because of it, indirectly favoring of bunker build professions not to mention repetitive.
I went from playing 6-8 hours a day to 4-5 hours per week…
I have been reading the forum more regularly lately wile at work and again its all about PvE, some recent Q&A with a dev about events, bosses, instances, storyline, drop tables and so on, again PvE.
Half a year as past and the PvP state of the game is basically the same as it was on launch as for PvE there are world events new poping every ware, one time events, festive events, new instances, new items, new rewards new storylines loads of fluff every ware.
New monthlies and dailies that award lauels are for PvE players only, if a PvP player wants to get any laurels to get gear for WvWvW he is forced to PvE…
PvP hasn’t evolved one bit in half a year on a “supposedly” PvP oriented game and e-sport worthy… a couple of balancing patches and a new sPvP map (Temple of the silent storm) which most ppl skip, orbs were removed from WvWvW (I’m ok with that), nothing else, its very very disappointing.
Is it because PvE players spend more money on the BL trading post that the PvP players?!
So all in all, this game that was advertised as a PvP e-sport oriented game turned out to be just another PvE game were WvWvW orbits around PvE to be competitive, specially since there is only 1 available set of gear from each armor type to get and for most professions it has the wrong stats to they HAVE to PvE to get the gear they NEED to PvP…
I really like the core mechanic of the game with the dodges and the weapon based abilities and all that but it I’m not having fun anymore and it saddens me to find myself playing less and less GW2 each week and spending more time in relatively older MMO’s having a blast…
Is it just me being paranoid or do any of you share these feelings?
I guess they are afraid thous kids will stop playing if they can’t have an certain “advantage” over other players, donno…
I’d go on holidays, isn’t that what they do?!
Seriously i would pull all the possible resources into introducing new sandbox pvp mods into the game before losing more pvp players.
I’d use the current maps we already have (to start with and have it delivered faster), stuff like conquer/defend; capture the quagon; death matches for 5v5 and 3v3. add dueling option.
after that the resources would be split again and have one team building new pvp maps and the other teams working as they are atm they are doing a gj IMO.
Its just the pvp that needs urgent attention before more and more pvpers leve…
Who said anything about sweeping changes in feb/march?
They said a pvp patch is comming they never said seeping! Not to mention the company policy of changing/balancing little by little, no drastic changes will ever happen. If it takes them 7-8 month to change a little how long will we have to wait until the pvp aspect of the game is enjoyable? I’m afraid that when that finally happens there wont be many ppl to play with.
Simple answer, this is clearly a pve game and the pvp players are not entitled for these rewards. If you want them you better leve the mists and force yourself to do pve as punishment for pvping to much…
don’t know if its the case but if you are at 100% health you will not get any healing from the trait. I haven’t tried it since patch so… just sain
will this game EVER be fixed?! from what i have seen so far since beta, they fix one thing and brake 2 in the process. just look at the traps, (yeah i know no one uses them but still, they are triggering on RARE occasions atm most of the times they just disappear with no effect whatsoever…
again, it doesn’t bother me much as I don’t use them but anyway its another bunch of broken abilities to the already long list…
As much as I’m kitten with A-net atm i have to defend them here, these games are uncomparable, PS2 is a first person shooter and infinitely easier to balance than an MMORPG were each profession has a plethora of abilities to balance. PS2 has 3 professions and a hand full of weapons, there is very little to balance there its dow to player skill.
Its like comparing chess with tic tac toe…
well I’m happy of the ONLY think they re-broke was traps since i don’t even use them at all…
if you pick a target and swing your daggers/Sword in the air they will attack the targeted mob/player without braking stealth.

Few hints.
- underwater combat is still very unbalanced.
- thieves and elementalists will never die wile figting abouve the water wells.
- professions with knock back utilities have great advantage on this map.
To name the most obvious ones.

If you cared so much for pvp as you claim, matchmaking would have been in a lot time ago before so many ppl left.
Forcing ppl to play on a map that mostly everyone skips just because you believe it as tournament potential doesn’t make it better. Did you even care to ask your players what they thought about this map ?! I’m sure it was fun to create it but I’m sorry to say that it is not fun to play in.
These are just a few things that makes me doubt that you guys like pvp as much as you claim.

The WoW time (when it was the only option) is far passed and there are allot of fun games out there for me to ENJOY instead of frustrating myself in GW2 for no good reason.You’ve said the same thing on 4 different threads..but you’re still here, guess you like the game more than me ^^

Only one of my friends still loges in on rare occasions, I have seen 2 of the guilds I was in desapear and my friends list is a an abandoned graveyard .
The pvp experience is boring and linear not to mention the bunker fest that tournaments are due to the single pvp mode available. It was acceptable for a wild but now it’s just… Gah
So yea I’m very annoyed and yah I’m rage quitting gw2 and joining my friends on a real esport pvp game!

Actually it does! It frustrates them even more.
Ppl play games for fun, wen it becomes boring and frustrating it isn’t worth playing.
Spend that time playing something else, whatch a movie or do something that you find fun to do. ATM (at least for me) playing wg2 is standing in the mists / LA chatting with the few ppl left on my friends list about how boring gw2 has become.
So yeah I’m not going to punish myself further. There are a lot of fun games out there to spend my money on.
I thought the team color background around your teammate heathbars were fine. I don’t know why we needed an extra source of our team color.
It’s cuz they had so very little pvp stuff in this patch that they added this to fill a bit more space in the patch notes.

I agree the map is terrible, the “two” areas you can go out of spawn lead to like 4 steps from the same spot making spawn camping completely trivial to accomplish after just one team fight. The long drop into water makes any thief in the area impossible to kill as they can shadowstep then drop down, if you don’t follow they heal back to full if they do they go back up top. Or they could just heal into stealth and jump down or hide behind something forcing the other player to make a decision on “did he go down?”. (…)
What about eles? even if you down them they mistfrom into the water and get themselves back up, virtually impossible to stomp them. Not to mention the professions that have knockback utilities that send you flying all around throwing you to the lower levels placing you out of combat until you manage to climb your way back up just to be knocked back down again?! most ppl skip this map, every time i force myself in there the teams are always very short due to ppl quiting right after the previous map ends.
Believing that this map has “tournament potential” (quoting A-net’s Dev) is just silly…
i will wait for match as well, just not in (this) game.

PvP players got mini minor insignificant fixes, a tournament in the map everyone skips (but for some odd reason A-net Loves and is FORCING us to play in it) and colored skill bars…. i mean REALLY?! E-Sports?! PvP oriented game my cats…
ok then… back to the ONLY (boring to death) sandbox pvp mode we have, capture the point bunker fest for 2 more month until something new come out… E-Sports?! we barely have 10-15 spvp maps up at once and NO tournaments at all…. E-sport game needs players and it is not by adding PvE content that A-net will bring more PvP players to the game, thats for sure!
ATM I’m in my 3rd guild, the previous 2 moved to a new MMO, and my RL friends are playing DOTA and TERA waiting for this patch… I’m on TS with them and they are laughing at me cuz im the only one still playing GW2. -_-’ (they are not coming back…)
