Your answer sounded a bit too factual is all. :P
If a karka really dropped for you then you can assume the other two minis drop too, without being certain of course.
Well, i can be certain because it dropped for me. For me its fact.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
The wiki shouldn’t be trusted in such matters because it is based on user input. There is no reason why Karkas would still drop but hatchlings or reef drakes wouldn’t, so I’d say either they all drop very rarely or not at all.
This topic is also based on user input.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
My advice is don’t sell any crafting materials. You will need to get to 400 in two crafting areas and this can mostly be done with materials you collect yourself doing world exploration. Once you have levelled those crafting areas then sell by all means.
No point in keeping mats, if he doesnt want to craft.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
No I haven’t really leveled crafting at all. Wasn’t really my scene for a long time
[/quote]
Then you should really consider just farming your gold the way you like and buy one off the tp.
Personally i really enjoyed my journey towards crafting my first legendary because it made me try content that i until then didnt really like or tried. If thats not your cup of tea, there is no shame in buying it. It also has the advantage that you can sell any drops as you wont need it for crafting. Just make sure to not sell directly to the highest bidder but undercut the lowest seller by a copper. That way it might take some time until your stuff sells but you will get ~20% more gold from your sales. Even if it takes a week or month to sell, it doesnt matter much as you will propably need a couple of months anyways to get the gold for your Legendary.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
There’s a reason the karka, hatchlings and reef drake are 300g while the reef rider’s 1g.
They’ve been unavailable for ages.
Karka , Reef Drake and Hatchling are from Lost Shores back in Nov. 2012 (Consortium Chest). while Reef Rider is from Secret of/ Last Stand in Southsun in May 2013 (Southsun Supply Crate), which explains the different droprates and prices of those minis.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
I call pics for proof or it didn’t happen! These minis have always been on a decline on the TP ever since the SS event ended which makes me believe they don’t drop anymore. Don’t be coned out of your precious mini by unfounded rumors. Personally I’m holding on to mine. One day it will be worth more then Kanaxai.
Chill out, nobody wants to cone anybody here. I simply answered the question of the OP. Just because supply declines on the tp doesnt mean its not dropping anymore.
In fact, you are wrong anyways because the supply of the Mini Karka was below 5 and over 20 multiple times since release.
The wiki also states the same, Karka and Reef Rider still drop, the other minis dont.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
I dont have a screenshot and i farmed for a long time a couple of months ago, the reef rider dropped multiple times.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Where have you seen the Mini Karka and Reef Rider drop? They were only available in southsun chests, which no longer exist. If this was correct, the Hatchlings would also still drop.
Farming Sharks close to the Crab Toss Arena, bot hdropped for me.

Mini Karka and Reef Rider still drop, The Hatchling, Reef Drake, Kasmeer and Lord Faren dont drop anymore.

As a crafting guide, use http://www.gw2crafts.net/
The weapon and armor crafting professions are pretty straitforward and more or less the same.
Cooking is something completely different but not as expensive and jewelling is something inbetween, even though those 2 professions might get more expensive in march when we will be able to raise them to 500.
If you cant bear leveling your crafts, just sell all your materials and start farming gold to buy your leggie off the tp. You will pay a premium for the account bound currencies that go into a leggie (karma, skillpoints, dungeon tokens etc.) but you will save on leveling your crafting and dont have to do world exploration, if you havent done it yet.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Economically, it makes more sense to promote refined versions though, so bolts instead of scraps, as you save some dust cost.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
This game doesnt need mounts.
And this is just only YOUR opinion.
Don’t make this statement sound like a total statement that counts for everyone, because thats absolutely not the case and will be never the case.Wall Of Rage
Where in my original statement did I say that it counts for everyone?
I actually read your wall of text and couldnt find any good reason given for Anet to waste alot of ressources to implement this.

i would like to have more gems when i pay with real money, the exchange rate only gives you a loss anyway (when changing it to gold) so it will only make buying gems with RL money more attractive.
also, P2W only exists when you have an advantage over someone else, does a skin give you an unfair advantage?
no, it’s just something you want, an inconvenience, not P2W.I had this plan in the beginning as well. Getting more gems for your 25 euro. That seems a pretty simple thing but to change all the gem cards in the ‘whole’ world is i think a bit harder.
it’s actually dead simple, all Anet need to add is a script code that adds X more gems when you register with a gem card.
they can eventually release cards that states the bonus gems, that only takes a bit of photoshopping. And isnt just this ( gold to gems depens on people that buy gems with money) that shows that less and less people buy gems with money and more and more buy it with gold. For me the 8 gold per 100 gold is too mutch to handle. And that is to bad since i would really want to buy those skins. Other thing is that they overprice everyting as well. Like its a standard everything is 800 gems but yea…. So why not do something simple thats doesnt hurt anyone ( right?) Its not that they will sell legandaries for 80 euro or something…
maybe an alternative, the exchange still has normal gems but you can buy gold gems with real money.
so what happens now, everything you want to buy in the gem store is cheaper with gold gems.
so an item that is normally 800 gems is now about 500 gold gems (you could also call it platinum), so now the in-game rich ppl can stay around for free all they want while paying the full price while the actual supporters get more out of it, a win win all the way.Its still basically just asking for lowering gem prices. Why would Anet do that?
not really, the gem prices will just be lower for ppl who actually spend money on gems, how it currently is doesn’t benefit Anet in the slightest, the new way does.
better yet, they can make high popular items on a higher price while keeping the gold gem price the same, this makes exchanging gold->gem less popular and the RL money->gem allot more popular.
more money->support for Anet->more stuff->profitYou are constantly ignoring the fact that every gem in the game is paid for with real money (bar the initial gems put into the exchange before release).
It is actually beneficial for the game (and Anet), if people buy gems with gold:
If you buy 800 gems with money and spend it in the gem store, thats 10 bucks in Anets pocket.
But if you buy 800 gems with money, then trade it with me for my gold and i spend the gems in the store, its still 10 bucks in ANets pocket, plus they sunk some gold out of the economy, which keeps inflation in check.whether you or me using gold to buy gems, it’s not giving any money, that’s a free service.
regardless on how you do it, it benefits Anet only when you pay real money, buying gems with gold is nothing more then a loss on Anet’s part.
also, inflation in a game is nothing more then something what players make out of it, if someone is buying allot of items that (s)he exchanged with money->gem->gold then (s)he can damage your inflation just as much, no amount of inflation damages Anet, only the TP trippers.you want Anet to benefit from the gem store, this is a solution.
be my guess and think of a better one, till now the exchange is hurting Anet allot more and champ trains are part of the cause.
more ways to farm gold->less money in Anet’s bank->less chance Anet benefits->loss in profit.
OK, i gonna stop arguing with someone, who fails to understand the basic concept of the gem exchange.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
For your legendary, you should go for the Gifts of Mastery and Fortune first, as both are needed for every Legendary.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_weapon
For ascended stuff, i would also start with weapons as they give more stat advantage over exotics compared to armor.
Did you level any crafting yet?
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
This is going to be cheap and easy, I have at least 2 stacks of every 400 orb.
You also have 3500 ectos and 14000 ori ores to transmogrify all those orbs to exquisite jewels?
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Vael whispers, “Watchwork.”
I would rather refine ori than sprockets until 425. Its also not very useful for leveling in the other regions as well because every trinket and the jewel needs a recipe to be learned, so no discovery. As the trinkets are account bound, they have no resale value as well.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Anyone else have similar stats?
MIne are completely opposite.

Sure, I bet we can help you! If you have identical items — that is, the same exact item (not two different items of the same type) — submit a ticket to Support and we’ll get you fixed up.
To be clear, here’s what I wrote about the “same item” requirement: The refund process is intended for duplicates of the same item. For example, if you had two Bone Picks, we could refund one. But with two separate items, the refund offer does not apply because they are different items, even if the function is the same.
But when you released the Molten Pick, you advertised it as the last pick i will ever need, so I bought one. Now you release another one with a more versatile functionality. I think those extra sprockets while mining are nice and we can always argue about different skins.
But why am I forced now to spend another 1000 gems for my extra chance at sprockets and you dont refund the 800 gems for my old pick? Or why cant i just upgrade my old pick to the best functionality in game?

They will definately not change the pick now its released. The question for me is, if they gonna add that feature to the old picks as well or if they give out refunds for the old ones, if you buy the new one. If we dont hear any feedback until monday, i will buy the new one and ask for a refund for my old one.
They will not give you a refund. I already put a ticket in for one. Their response was “Purchases from the Gem Store are seldom refundable, and in this case we are not able to provide a refund of your purchase. We encourage you to exercise care when conducting all your gem transactions.” I’d love to respond with I’d exercise more care when you quit exercising deceitful practices like offering the Molten Alliance trio of tools for 2850 gems and then 1-2 months later after you took all the money, put out another item which trumps what I just purchased…..keep backhanding your customers Anet and see where you are in a few months……
Did you simply ask for a refund for the old one or did you already buy the new one and now are stuck with 2 picks?

Some forge recipes are ridiculously expensive. I just created the Emerald Amulet (Soldier’s exotic amulet) and it was:
250 gold ingots
250 emerald orbs
250 crystalline dust
50 mystic coinsBy BLTC prices, this was an 80 gold amulet that’s only exotic and no one can ever see. What did I pay for? Exotic level Soldier’s…..not attainable through normal play unless you are in one of two dungeons and the RNG gods are not only smiling but drunk as well.
250 giant eyes, however, would cost about 375 gold at today’s buy price….that’s insane. I can see why you went the route of the moldy bags.
Bloodstone Fragment :P
Or 42k karma at temple of grenth or 295 badges of honor in wvw.
Or 80 gold for a soldiers amulet…..

That would be nice but if they keep crafted back pieces in the armorsmith/leatherworker/tailor professions, my guess would still be damask, as it is the only ascended material that can be refined by all 3 of them.
Even if there was an option to use Elonian Leather, i doubt that it would eat up much leather because not many people craft it due to the price of the other ingredients/recipe.

No, its convenience : you dont have to worry about that.
That is your opinion, which is where the “Pay to Win” definition is flawed. It is too open to opinion.
I will go one step beyond the P2W argument.
With their current gem store practices they are loosing faith with their consumers and thus over the course of the game will cost them sales.
First the Berserker nerf which many people bought gems to convert to gold to make their ascended sets it now being changed. Good or bad – they still are no longer getting what they thought they purchased.
Now we are moving to mining nodes. Why bother buying infinite ones if you have no clue how much better or worse they may change them in the future.
Obviously – With this current change people who already spent money feel taken advantage.
I myself think I’m taking a long break spending anything with Anet for awhile as my trust in them is not exactly high atm due to the above reasons.
So either Anet is making customer relations mistakes one after another that will affect them in the long term
or
could it be that they don’t anticipate a long term, that they themselves have given up on the game and are making as many cash grabs as possible before everything goes poof?
2013 Q3 box sales and Gem store sales were down 25% according to many financial reports which all of you can easily look up.
That could explain a lot.
Keep in mind that Q3 2012 included launch month. I am not surprised that they didnt sell as much copies in 3 months in Q3/2013 than during September 2012.

This is something that the community brought up many times in the past, and in my excitement, I wanted to be sure everyone heard the great news. Remember, not everyone knows where to go for information, esp. if it’s buried in the middle of a topic.
On that note, I sooo can’t wait until this update comes. I’m already investing in Superior Sigils before the prices skyrocket.
They spiked already when they discussed it during the twitch stream 2 weeks ago.
That was based on speculation. Now that it’s in writing, I expect more people to jump onto the Sigil bandwagon. Gotta grab them all while I can. Still, it’s an exciting time to be a 2-handed weapon user.

I dont mind that the new pick gives an extra chance for sprockets because i dont think its gamebreaking.
But as someone, who got an older pick, i feel a little kitteneated because i thought that i wouldnt have to upgrade that one anymore. If I want a chance at extra sprockets, i have to spend another 1000 gems, making my old pick obsolete.
I think i gonna wait and see, if Anet reacts on this issue and changes anything.
Otherwise i might buy the new pick on the last day of sale and ask Support for a refund for my old one.
