This is almost the worst idea I have ever seen. I sincerely hope you are not serious.

Really? You would be hugely offended if there was a title for example clearing every dungeon path 5 times?
If we some day get actually hard dungeons it would be very frustrating to need kick half of the people because there’s no way to tell whether they know their class and know to play.
I guess Fractals is kind of like this but I seriously can’t be bothered with the grind/lfg.

Good to see it fixed. Non-intuitive attacks don’t make the game more fun. More narrow cone still serves about same purpose without “why I got hit”-feeling.
Also if possible do something to enemies which instantly turn after finishing their animation (silver/gold howlers, whatever their name was).

It is supposed to be an action MMO where you simply can’t facetank stuff. I agree some traits have very lacking effect but some open up different possibilities.
I think one of their goal was to not make it depend too much on gear. Utility skills still play quite important role (especially anti-projectile).
But I don’t understand how you can’t consider yourself more skillful if they keep dying and you won’t. I have very good hand-eye coordination but on new fights I suck badly because I don’t know what to look for and what to expect.

If you watch the gameplay closely, he’s swapping utilities and weapons frequently, and to serve different purposes. He has a knowledge of the bosses and event mechanics, and mitigates what risk he can through smart play and knowledge. His dodges and blocks are well timed, and rarely are they unnecessary when he uses them. He knows which attacks he can soak, and which attacks he needs to avoid.

And a net and others think d/d else are OP……

I know AC very well, tried soloing, died several times.

At least i know warriors are the future while other classes are nerfed………

Sorry for derailing the thread but this has been bugging me recently….you say he switches alot of stuff out etc. Look at ele we need to switch 4 attunements, have player skill, Dodge alot and have good timing yet a warrior can fly through this SOLO especially on p1….

Pass this onto class balancers please, i am tired of people saying we are OP (when it could.es down to player skill instead) which leads to overnerfing.

That being said, good job again on another feat. I’d not thought it was possible to do the Hodgins library event solo, but good job in finding a way. Although to be honest, as the designer of that content, I did a facepalm when I saw your thread title.

Why?
Its the Warrior designer and the profession balancing team that should be face-palming.
While i consider guardian pretty balanced, since his high resistance and nice support for team is balanced through rather low dmg. I dont see any downside on warriors, they excel in everything.

Excel at everything but defense. I mostly use only basic form of defense, dodge, which every class has access to. If you want know what seriously sucks with Warrior, that’s AoE projectile reflect/absorb, combo-fields and summons.
I admit damage is high, partly from class but also from being full-glass with best offensive stuff (or if someone has any better please let me know).

Also one thing to consider is that you don’t see me posting failed ideas/attempts or I need to use questionable tactics (like pulling Kholer). Try to think what your class is good at and play by its strengths.

That’s the thing. I think the community likes to see other classes being able to do the same. Solo lupicius and this, it’s been a warrior. Maybe we should just leave it us, “Other classes are simply not skilled enough to do something like this.”

Considering the OP has the necessary skills and knowledge to accomplish this as a warrior, I don’t see him not being able to do it with say ele, or ranger, or engineer. Just some time to learn the class mechanic on his part.

Actually only reason I can solo Lupicus is because Reckless Dodge allows me to dodge out of bubble. When that gets fixed… I really don’t know what to do.
+ I have seen quite promising Ele/Guard on Lupicus (go Haviz!)

According to Wiki Frenzy lasts 5 seconds on 60 seconds recharge.

With skill 1 it gives at least 8.33% more DPS. Effect is even higher when enemies die fast (for example if they die in 10 seconds it’s 50% more DPS, 20 seconds 25% more DPS).
In real situation it’s bit lower because Hundred Blades deals quite nice amount of damage (I may try to approximate this later).

But alternatives aren’t really better.
On My Mark: 1.666% more damage against bosses, double to normal enemy.
Signet of Might: 90 power, like 4% more damage (with my base power).
Banner of Strength: 90 power, like 4% more damage (with my base power).
Can’t be bothered to do math for else but effect is probably quite same.

+ Frenzy is fun to use and I take 50% more damage which is even more exciting!

Can you give specific examples in arah?

Sure.
Path 1 Ooze: Stay in safe spot.
Path 2 First boss: Stay in safe spot.
Path 2 Alphard: Pull out to avoid clones.
Path 3 Crusher & Hunter: Stay in safe spot / pull to bug.
Path 3 Mage: Stay in safe spot.
Path 4 Melandru: Stay in safe spot.
Path 4 Dwayna: 4/1 trick (questionable) or some tricky pull to make it stuck (I haven’t seen this but heard about it)

I always go with Swiftness and try jump over two lasers. Now that’s fun!

One good jumper with portal gun makes it trivial for rest.

What if server saved data for completion speeds and used that information to balance dungeon rewards? Wouldn’t this eventually lead quite same token/time ratio for every dungeon?
Also if it kept data how often a dungeon is ran we would also get difficulty modifier (easier ones are ran more often).

5-signets works when you are below level ~60. On level 80 it simply sucks. FGJ! out-damages Signet of Might, you get weakest healing skill (imo), no stun-break, you should use Signet of Rage on-recharge. All that for little bit more CritChance.

If you have problems fighting monsters you are skipping you seriously can’t consider yourself good. Decent, perhaps.
Stability and CC easily counters Inquest stunners.

But I understand why people do it and I even do it too. All I wish is that people supported each other when skipping instead of leaving people behind (but again I understand why people just care about their own kitten, I have few times helped people only to get in trouble without any support).

When every class has the choice to spec for more damage it has nothing to do with holy trinity.
Today I did Simin again very easily. Team was DPS Warrior, Hybrid Guardian (which they wanted to kick but I told them not to), Ranged Thief, Ranged Elementalist, Ranged Necro. Again, it was very easy. Had to run sparks like 10 times because of failures but in the end smooth encounter.
Every battle favors some kind of style. Should I complain that I take too much damage with glass-spec?

And last time I checked you take more damage in DPS spec thus making it harder to survive.

On AC exp my 94 CritDamage scales down to 27 CritDamage. Now you may argue that all stats get lowered but truth is every other stats effect remains same.
You have lower Vitality but you also have lower base health so effect is same.
You have lower Toughness but you also have lower base armor so effect is same.
You have lower Power but you also have lower base power so effect is same.
You have lower Precision but you still get about same CritChance so effect is same.
You have lower CritDamage and you get lower CritDamage.

I don’t really find it fair that one stat becomes garbage.

You really can’t solo a fight with that strong self-heal.
You need good balance of damage and spark-running and as a solo you will suck at both.

One issue with silvers is that they are just filler-content. Most of the silver-fights are more or less same. And they just stand there and aren’t really interesting (more events please).
I think CoE has quite nice silver-encounters because there’s plenty of variation.

And yeah, if killing them is not worth of the reward people will skip no matter how interesting the fight would be.

Yes, as I stated it is not a fight you can faceroll. That alone makes it too hard for 90% (random number) of player-base. And people rather complain than analyze what they are doing wrong and get better.
Last 3 times I have joined just for Simin-fight. And people there are simply pathetic. First of all no one seems to bother with consumables. On some groups no designated tear-thrower and even if there is he doesn’t attack, at all. No one uses mobility when running sparks. Lack of damage due wrong gear and skills. Random stuff going on like people running around during sparks or getting all the time killed on red circles.
Fix most things above and you get it done in 15 mins (includes practice).

IIRC, Robert said he did only minor tweaks to their behavior. Nothing indicates that it’s completely broken and impossible.

Until Anet comments we can’t be 100% sure it’s an exploit. But if something feels unintended (like in this case boss not attacking back?) there is a good chance it is considered as an exploit.

Well I’m not here to argue glass cannons/faceroll/skill, my main point is the fight is not working as intended (buggy sparks), the point is you can’t ban people for using the 4-1 tactic if the sparks mechanics are buggy themselves.

Sparks aggro to closest target. Last 3 times I have pugged Simin I have seen no weird behaviour from sparks.

4-1 trick only works if you have very very high DPS (enough to kill Simin after 4-1). If you can’t do that it just gives you a better start and you have to deal with remaining health as intended. It’s now awfully hard but big problem is that you can’t faceroll.
Spark aggro can be annoying but it’s not impossible unless you have everyone randomly running around.

Based how bad people can do it you don’t need everyone with glass-builds. What you need is people who are ready to adapt and swap weapons/utilities to more offensive ones and be able to follow simple orders (like Warriors shouldn’t use stuff like Endure Pain).
Playing glass actually forces you to improve your own game-play because you die more easily.

Probably cos the presence of your majesty annihilates lupicus in 1-3mins while MY warriors stay ranged and we have to take a massive 5 mins to kill him. :P

Isn’t that what Warriors do? Inspire allies and demoralize enemies.

What’s hard there?

I dunno, some warriors like in that guy’s group use to range him to death.

I would rather think meleeing him in phase 1 is a taboo.

I know it’s possible to melee him in p1, but I’d personally rather go the safe route and stay at range to allow me more time to nuke the grub.

But if warriors can’t (except Weth) in your opinion why a glass ele is able to?

Based on my personal experience Lupicus gets 2-4 grubs on bad team if I completely ignore them.

I would love them to put people on temp-bans, even if that included me (I have done my fair share of exploiting, mainly for testing purposes or being part of a team).
I don’t get why people play if they just want “I win”-button.

- 20 mins Arah path 3 without map exploits.
- Killed CoE3 destroyer in 5 lazer shots but we’re also Omnom believers looking for Operative’s Creed recipe so not really aiming for faster. The team who Rob said did it in 2 lazers shots probably were using +damage food and +damage vs destroyer potion.

That arah run was after or before adding new stuff?

I killed CoE3 destroyer with 4 eles and 1 war (pugged) in 5 shots so I guess a group of decent wars/thieves/even guardians with food+pots can do it much faster. Unless someone thinks that bunker eles has so much damage

Didn’t we do Arah P3 in 18 mins yesterday? With 2 pick-ups.

But I will jump in to praise Berserker-gear.

This area was supposed to be hooked up before launch but we got swamped and the script I wrote didn’t get submitted to localization in time. It WILL get hooked up and operational at some point. (Though everyone is actually MORE swamped with post launch content than before we shipped, it seems) What really sucks is that it can be seen from outside, which really ruins the effect. It’s not supposed to look like UFOs or be reminiscent of anything alien. and Ceiling Cat was going to be a super secret Easter egg that only a very few would ever see. What sucks more is that this is one of those projects I did almost entirely on my free time (as is the fragmented garden statue of Caudicus and the Lion’s Arch Lion sculpture) and it’s getting out there in a completely stupid ugly way. I’m not blaming anyone but us. It’s totally natural and healthy for fans to poke at every corner to find this kind of stuff. Just makes me sad that something that was supposed to have a very specific mood is ruined for a lot of people now. anyway, I appreciate you guys bringing it to our attention.
